This is a great place to go if you want to experience authentic Japanese bakery. The cakes and rolls aren't overly sweet as you experience in the normal USA. They have a great range of breads to choose from, as well as very tasty crepes. Other great offerings are their drinks, wide selection of cold and hot drinks, especially with matcha options. Fantastic Japanese bakery with French influences. They have a little market where you can buy that day's fresh bashed goods; rolls, breads, sweets, etc. As well as a café to order in; crepes, lattes, ice creams, etc. They make everything from curry doughnuts, fruit tarts, salmon crepes, Mont Blanc rolls, and much, much more. 10/10

This place has changed a lot since I was last here. It was probably, I don't know, three years ago when I got stationed in San Diego, CA. This has always been my favorite bakery, not just in Ohio but everywhere I've been. But I'm a little bit biased perhaps; I started coming here around seven years ago (I think), when I started going to Akai Hana (my favorite sushi place of all time). The bread and pastries are just too good! The atmosphere was very chill. Not to mention I have had a secret admiration for one of the people who worked here. Call it a crush. I went there for the first time in forever last Saturday. The place has gotten bigger... Well, the footprint itself doesn't seem much bigger than I remember, but it felt bigger, and it was pretty packed. I'm proud of how popular this place has gotten, and the 4.9 average review is very well-deserved! I'll be leaving for San Diego again after my leave, but no doubt I'll stop by here on my way to the airport. If you are in the area, make sure you stop by a grab a snack! You will love it here. Side note, my crush wasn't there last I visited. Maybe next time.

Belle's will always be a 5-star for me because of their cakes, which are the main draw. If you like desserts that are a little lighter, a little less sweet, and incorporate Asian flavors like green tea and red bean, there's no better spot in Columbus, maybe all of Ohio. That being said, I am definitely disappointed that they did away with their old cafe menu in favor of crepes. The crepes are not bad, but I miss my omuraisu :(

This is my favorite bakery. They do absolutely everything well. It really sets a bakery apart when they can make their goods delicious without being sickeningly sweet. Many of their items are also incredibly unique - where else can you get a sweet yeast roll shaped like a cat filled with a fluffy, light Nutella buttercream?

Amazing service, incredible ambiance, delicious pastries-- what more could you want? In the summer I love their green tea soft serve, and in the winter I enjoy their coffee and creme puffs! Amazingly, the plain, powdered sugar creme puffs are just as good as the chocolate covered ones, and I've never had any sweet from their display case that wasn't delicious! Highly recommend!

Ahh! How did I not know about this place sooner!!?? Walking in I was immediately surprised by such a long line, but the bakery has a small area with shelves of pre baked goodies wrapped and ready to go, so it made things very easy. My new favorite dessert? The Nutella Kitty! Simple, cute, and delicious. I wish I had known what goodness awaited me, definitely do not underestimate the power of the bread! I now understand the regulars sweeping through the store with trays piled high of buns and loaves. A true gem.

Yummmm! Buns and anpan and desserts and ice cream galore! If you've never had Japanese style buns, you absolutely need to give it a try. They're a very unique kind of soft, sweet bread like a brioche, and filled with different slightly sweet fillings like custards or bean paste. Soooo gooood. Kids will love the adorable designs, like the Nutella Kitty bun or the Turtle bread. Also, there's no shame in getting a Matcha soft serve before you leave and eating it on a bench outside the store to enjoy the day. ;D

I absolutely love Belle's Bread. The fresh daily made pastries and sandwiches are delicious and light. The ambiance of the cafe is also very comfortable and makes for a great spot to study or work. They also offer what I consider to be the best cakes in Columbus. Some highlights from Belle's are their Green Tea Soft Serve Ice Cream, Tiramisu, Taro Bun, and Smoked Salmon Sandwich. Belle's Bread also serves coffee from Stauf's, a acclaimed local coffee shop. Combine the great food with the lovely staff and you have one of the best cafe/bakeries in all of Columbus.

Quite a busy place with fusion of Japanese and Italian desserts and savoury items. Tried their tiramisu, mango mouse cake slices and almond caramel roll. Both the cakes were moist and just melted in my mouth, perfection. I got the ghirardelli hot chocolate, it was alright. There are About 10 tables which seats 30-40 people. Clean and tidy. Service was prompt and friendly. Would love to come back and try other variations.

This is a "French by way of Japan" Japanese bakery which makes a great variety of desserts, breads, and Cafe items. All of the bakery items are excellently made, impeccably styled, and fantastically delicious. You can try green tea and or other breads, pastries of all flavors sweet and savory, fluffy croissants, creamy puddings, tiramisu, fantastic macarons in flavors like rose, Earl grey, passion fruit, or lemon, fluffy cakes, roll cakes, fruit tarts, or ice creams. The items are not overly sweet so the flavors are very well balances. I can't wait to go back!

They also have a cafe with meal options, coffee, teas, abs soft serve. It's a good place to stop for a snack or a meal. Some of their food is seasonal too, so you can look forward to something different every time. Staff members are always super nice and the place is always clean. There is also a community room you can rent out for bigger groups.

Pretty good place to go if you need to study and need free WiFi. The bread and pastries here are legit. They have red bean patties, matcha pastries,but my favorite is the loaded frank dog. I love savory pastries lol. They also have a cafe that will make some food items like crepes. The green tea latte and frozen matcha self serve are my favorites .... Wifey likes the chocolate cake and regular latte because it is Japanese sweet and not American super sweet..... I wish they still had their community room where you could reserve the room. Days it wasn’t reserved they would play movies like Kiki’s delivery service.

My Journey

I went out with some friends to celebrate my birthday and we happened to walk into this bakery. It is phenomenal! The bread was delicious and had quite a variety when it came to the buns. If you enjoy japanese bread then I highly recommend going here. I didn't have the pleasure of trying anything on the menu but I did buy a fruit tart. It almost looked like a highly detailed display model because it was so perfectly assembled. The price for the bread is decent being about $2 for a red bean paste bun. The cakes are a bit more though. So I would make sure you are willing to spend anywhere between $5-$10 for a mid day snack and drink. But I'm pretty sure you will spend much more because I didn't see anyone leaving with just one or two items. I alone spent $13 on two buns, a chocolate roll, a load of bread and a tart. But it was well spent. They also have ice cream and crepes! Definitely try this place out I can't not recommend it enough!

For all of my Otaku, weeaboo, or just fans of Japanese culture... if you've seen one too many animes (by anyone's standards) or see yourself living in a world you've seen in manga, you'll be in heaven here. It's just like they plucked a bakery out of Japan. I took way too many pictures and yet not enough and CERTAINLY did not bring enough money. I wanted to try one of every baked item, but had to satisfy myself with a curry bread and some Calpico (not sure I'm spelling that right). We definitely HAVE to go again.

I love Belle's bread for their unique breads and matcha soft serve! You can get Japanese bakery items here for a pretty good price, ~$2.00-$6.00 per item, they also have cake slices ~4.00, coffee, tea, macarons, sandwiches, shaved ice, crepes, whole cakes, and other items. Staff is really friendly and helpful! I like walking around to other shops as well, but this shop is one of my favorite shops and is tasty! I recommend coming here alone to work, with friends, with family, bring kids, or a casual date. I really like their matcha soft serve and butter cream bread! They have their main dining room and a community room, that has extra tables, so there's plenty of places to sit! There's a bathroom available and WiFi. I come here and do work sometimes and you have to get the WiFi password through a purchase. There are two free parking lots available, so don't fret about parking. I enjoy the atmosphere and their products!

My friend introduced this place to me, and I just love it so much! I still remember I was only visiting Columbus for a weekend, and I came here twice just for their bread. There are a lot of variety. Belle's Bread is my go-to place for studying. They have affordable treats, lattes, and pastries. And most importantly, everything tastes great! The desserts are perfect because they are perfectly sweetened and light at the same time. I think the desserts at this bakery and much better than most bakeries in Columbus. The reason this bakery gets 4 starts instead of 5 is because I don't feel as welcome as I do at other coffee shops like Starbucks. It would be great if someone genuinely asked me "how are you doing today?". Its always those little things that often make a lasting impression on a customer.

I wish i could give a 4.8 or 4.9, because everything is delicious, but (as with any French or part-French restaurant/ bakery) it's incredibly difficult to eat here if you have food allergies. There are usually 1-2 options if you have mild egg/but allergies, but those options can be difficult to find as nothing has an ingredient list. This would be less of an issue if the bakery weren't so popular, but it's usually so busy that asking staff about ingredients in individual items is difficult (which is really just indicative of how popular this place is).

I’m a huge fan of plain croissants and theirs are perfectly flaky while not being too dry and have a nice mildly sweet flavor. I also can’t come by without bringing home a loaf of bread or a baguette, they’re just too good to pass up. They also have a huge selection of cakes and other desserts and can decorate a cake for you if you don’t see a premade one you like. I’ve only ever had a strawberry cream cake but it was wonderful and if I ever have an occasion to buy a cake for again I’ll certainly come back. Stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee with your favorite baked good and relax!

Not your average bakery! Belle's has a large variety of treats and they taste as beautiful as they look. The cakes in the case are wonderful, but the items on the bun table are my favorite. Do not miss the choco coronet, a cone shaped brioche-like dough filled with an amazingly rich and fudgy cream filling. They also have a lovely selection of bread. If you're lucky enough to be there when they have the croissant loaf make sure you scoop one up. Going late in the day can be a bad idea, as they sell out of many of the items. So get there early and try as much as you can.

one the best local bakeries around with nice staff good food and a nice interior this is one of the places you will want to visit if you are ever in this part of town. there is only one problem with the place the extremely long lines during their busy hours so i recommend that you come early for the best experience.

Best Asian bakery ever!! Their pastries are delectable, they offer a variety of Shoku pan, and the cakes are the best in town. Their coffee is from Stauffs, which is the best in Columbus, in my opinion, and I love to get a green tea soft serve affogato (ice cream with espresso shot), which is the perfect balance of bittersweet, creamy goodness. Their menu tends to change over time, so the latest is a delicious offering of dessert or meal crepes, and amazing Japanese style parfaits. I would argue that their cream puffs, especially the matcha cream puff (which is loaded with rich matcha flavor, and balanced with a hint of sweet azuki), are even better than Japan, or the Bearded Papas in big cities. I have been a frequenter at Belles from their beginning.

Belle's Bread is one of my favorite bakeries to visit in Columbus. I am a sucker for Japanese pastries, so I try to visit here at least once a month to satisfy my craving for red bean. The design of the bakery is very simple. There is a small area to browse with breaded pastries (that were made that day) simply packaged and ready to go home. The check out line is next to a beautiful display of chilled sweets that range in brightly, colorful desserts to simple ones that hit me with nostalgia. The staff are extremely pleasant durinf check out, and offer great advice on what to get if you're overwhelmed with all the options! They recently started making crepes, and let me tell you that they taste like heaven. Highly recommend getting one of their crepes as the ingredients are top notch.

The most adorable bakery in Columbus. The presentation is not only gorgeous, but the tastes are on point as well. I always grab myself a ham and cheese roll for something savory, and a green tea roll for something sweet! You can also pick up yummy Japanese style cakes here, and they also have a wide drink selection that I need to better explore.

Such an all-in-one location! They're breads and cakes are always fresh and choices are plenty! Belle's Bread has been my favorite bakery ever since I moved to Columbus. We are really happy to have their cake as our wedding cake. Many guests told us they knew that we got our cake from Belle's after just one bite because it is full of flavor and yet not too sweet (unlike many American-style bakeries).

What an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in we were in awe. The desserts are so beautiful and obviously made with great care. Our family decided to sample/share 4 treats. The strawberry cake was the lightest cake Ive ever had in my life. It melts in your mouth and the strawberries were a deep beautiful red and delicious. Perfect. The white chocolate raspberry mousse was delicate but bursting with flavor. The baked cheesecake was spongy and moist and the crust was almost like a graham cracker cake. The tiramisu had wonderful espresso flavor and a perfect balance of flavors. The employees were all very polite and helpful and the eating area was exceptionally clean. We will return everytime we are in the area!
