I’ve been going here for over 20 years and they never fail to fulfill my needs. I really do enjoy this bakery. Their savory sweets are very enjoyable. No complaint there. But TODAY I had to pick up a cake that my step son had ordered. I given the employee my step son credit card. She asked for my I. D.I had to go back out to the car to get my stepson(mind you that he is in a wheelchair), and to bring him in, and he had to show his i.d. I NEVER had this problem ever before in Baraona. I always used a credit card or someone else's credit card to get the items that I need or what someone else wanted. So I can say that I am very upset with them today...

Hands down, the best cassata cake in Cleveland. For my husbands birthday I tried to get him one of Barona’s cassata cakes for his birthday. Unfortunately, they were closed because his birthday is on a major holiday so we had to find somewhere else to get one. We found one from another bakery, Corbo’s, and we were so disappointed. It’s was a dry and flavorless disaster. Our first wedding anniversary just passed and we got a cake from here finally! Nothing beats it. The best cake we’ve had. So flavorful and delicious! Ordered. In advance. Cassatta cake, (not sure of spelling, )never had it before, cost was what you would expect. But far less than what that food for the ANGELS tasted like, any party I have from now until the end of time . the cake will only come from this fine establishment, first time there and all others fail in comparison, the staff was so polite and courtious. Professional, ,sat 9 of June 2018, about 15 people waiting, still in and out in less than 10 minutes, kudos to all, the. owners management but especially. The workers, , again I will never go anywhere else for my cakes, or other bakery needs,

I buy Canoli for the girls at the office at least once a month from here! I have been doing this for about 2 years now. They put each Cannoli in its own little cute bag for me! This is customer service at its best! They have definitely made a repeat a customer of me. They even now have me purchasing cakes (which are devine) for all of my birthday needs and celebrations! Baraona's bakery is a small bakery in my area and they are one of my all time favorite bakeries. They have an array of pastries and other assorted bakery items and are known for their cassatta cake. If you're ever in the area, I would highly recommend stopping by to check it out. Do beware that there is a $5 minimum for card transactions and if it is not signed, you must have your ID as well.

6 I took a piece of cheesecake back to Barona's cake makers that was bad the man told me very unprofessionally that he ate some of the cheesecake in at the Cheesecake it was good and that he didn't want me to even come back in there and by no cheesecake I asked him could I buy another piece of cheesecake he said no we will not serve you a piece of cheesecake very unprofessional I think that he needs to take a look at itself and I actually think that it was very prejudice if you notice the only have one black person that works there so I think it's very Prejudice of them me myself would never ever buy anything from them again

At one time this was my family's favorite bakery! It wasn't until my child started working there that I decided to never support them again. She was picked on and constantly talked down to by a Frank and a Joe. She was also belittled by Mrs. Gayle/Gail in front of a customer. I could've said something but I wanted my child to know there are people like this everywhere and you're going to have to learn how to handle them. Once it became too much, I gave her the option to quit. Good treats but served by not so nice people unfortunately. Take the time to even read the responses back to people who've had issues, there's no customer service attitude.

I grew up in Maple Heights. As a treat growing up my dad would bring me here on Fridays before school and let me get a donut. I haven't lived here in a long time but every time I'm in the area I stop by for a treat. Most donuts are gone by 10 or 11 but all their other items are delicious. I use to bring my grandfather a cassatta cake from here for his birthday every year. This place will always be special to me and be a maple heights staple.

After reading the reviews on this bakery I chose it and their customer service was HORRIBLE. I called today, short notice, to have a chocolate cassata cake made. They told me I had to pay for it upfront which was fine but I had cash. So since I was at work, I told them I would go put the money on my card and call back. It took me less than a half-hour and when I called back they told me it was too late, they couldn't make it. While I was asking a question, the lady hung up on me. I sat in the parking lot after rushing to put the money in my account so I could order the cake feeling like ?????. Fortunately, for me I called many more bakeries and I got Presti's bakery to make the cake. Not only did they make it, their customer services was amazing. Sheila was patient, accommodating, pleasant, assuring, and kind. Anybody can bake a good cake, but how's your customer service? I will never buy a cake from Baraona's. This is in response to the owner who stated I was not telling the truth. I don't want to go back and forth with you about the timeline (half hour, 2 hours), or if someone hung up, I hung up, (it's possible that the call dropped, after all, I was on a cell phone), my main issue was that your company presented bad customer service. After reading your response back to me, I think you've proven me right. As I started off my review, I stated; "it was short notice", I knew that, I know specialty cakes generally require advance notice, thus the request, is it possible? Nowhere was I being impossible, nor throwing a tantrum, something you implied, aka, "lying and bashing us when you were (un)able to get what you want". I was just trying to get a cake for a special someone who had had an incredibly bad day the night before. Saying that you are not fast food, wow, yeah, mean spirited. But no worries, because, after I hung up, calmed down, pushed back the tears, I continued to call around. Presti's Cakes in Little Italy, made that same specialty cake, that you and I know requires advance time to make, they made it and I was able to pick it up within a couple of hours, and Ms. Shelia, was kind, pleasant, delightful, accommodating, and personable. She thanked me for ordering a cake for somebody to cheer them up and that their bakery got to be a part of what was going to be a special moment for this person. Excellent customer service. So you see, when you say, "Wherever you go next please remember that cake takes hours to make from baking cooling, putting together, setting up, and then icing and decorating, have a great day", you're not being kind, pleasant, delightful, accommodating, and definitely not personable, and worse yet, not even sorrowful that a potential customer had a bad experience at your bakery. And even with all of that being said, I'm going to lend to you some sage advice, in the future, as the owner, you could benefit more if you tried to understand your customers/potential customers. I think if you would have said something like; Hi Ms. Malone, I was sorry to hear about your experience with our company. As a long standing bakery in the community, Baraona's Baking Co. strives to make our customers experience with our bakery one of complete satisfaction. I hope you will allow us to make up for this unpleasant experience and the next time you're in the area, just give the associate your name and have a pastry free on us. We value your business and look forward to serving you as a customer in the future. Back in the day they used to say that the customer is always right even though we know that this isn't true. The customer is always right was a concept, meaning, it's better for business to operate as though the customer is always right because as a business, you will have the opportunity to turn a negative experience into a positive one. I think your response to my review let me know where you stand on this matter. So no worries, don't mind me, I'm just one person.

Everything is always good. They definitely have the best cassatta cakes in Northeast Ohio. Hands down you can't get any better Plus they have so many more pastries that are so good. I have never had anything bad here. Its just the right amount of sweet and always glazed to perfection. I just love it. Also you can get an entire cake with words the same day. It literally took minutes for me to come in and order my cake. I was in there no more than 10 minutes. Fyi come early Enjoy cuz we sure will.

I have been a customer for more than 30yrs. Simple request, I asked to have the cassata cake I pre-ordered placed in a new box as the box the cake was in had oil/fingerprints and a chocolate frosting smear on the box. I was informed by a baker it was only fingerprints from the oil on the hands of a baker!!!!! Wow Therefore no we won't change the box!!! The cake was a hostess gift for a scheduled event. I was taught by my Father not to give MONEY away and that hasn't changed. I am a valued customer!!

I was recently married last year and I received a free anniversary cake. My certificate was dated for August 7 but I was married August 18. Baraona's delivered the cake and we signed an agreement so they were well informed of my date. I called to see if they would honor my certificate even though I called on August 9. They informed me that they were TOO busy to come to the phone and address my concerns and that because the cake was free they didn't have to honor anything. I purchase at least 5 cassata cakes a year from them over the past 10 years faithfully and this is the thanks I get for being a loyal customer. From one business owner to the next, you NEVER tell your customer that you are too busy for them. You certainly wasn't too busy to take my money or provide crappy service to me. Thanks Baraona's but no thanks to me, my family, or my friends ever buying another cake from you again.
