LOVE Amy Cakes!! Last fall I had her do my wedding cake which was put on display at the Dayton Art Institute. It was seriously the prettiest cake I’ve ever seen in my life. I had found a Pinterest picture with real flowers on it and she seriously brought it to life! Multiple people have asked us who did our cake because they were blown away by the look and the taste. The different flavors are so yummy and the icing is the perfect amount of sweetness! Matt and I absolutely recommend Amy Cakes to everybody and especially to those hosting an event!

We hired Amy cakes for our wedding two years ago, not only were they late showing up they didn't put the large sugar flower we paid extra for on the cake. My wife called a week later to get a refund for the sugar flower and they refused to give us a refund because she didn't call the day of the wedding.

Love the cookies, so I tried to book them for our wedding. Great communication all the way up until it was time to close the deal and pay for the service. Last communication was over a month ago. I've sent several follow up emails, with no response. This is kind of a timely situation, would have loved to use them, but not with such flaky service!

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience trying to order a few dozen cupcakes. They were not willing to take any sort of responsibility for the mix up and confusion that was caused. My order was over $100. While I've heard the cupcakes are good, they're expensive and their poor customer service is not worth it.

Amycakes has done all of our cakes for 6 years including our wedding cake, graduation cake and many anniversary and birthday cakes and more. Always beautiful and delicious! Their carrot cake is my favorite. Great treats aside from the cake as well. My favorites are the salted caramel bars and frosted sugar cookies!

My husband and I ordered cupcakes and cookies from Amy cakes a week and a half before our gender reveal party. 2 days after ordering I had a miscarriage and when I called them to get back my deposit they told me it was nonrefundable. After I told her our situation and that no one told me that when I ordered all they could do was give me a store credit that's only good for 3 months. They were very inconsiderate and selfish. They weren't concerned at all with what happened they just wanted to get their money.

I normally do my own cakes for our family and friends, however I didn't have time and wouldn't be able to do one for my mom's surprise party a few weeks ago and keep it a surprise. I had called a few places and they couldn't do anything for the next day and I remembered I saw this store in Miamisburg. I called and they were very helpful and had the cupcake cake done when I needed it. EVERYBODY loved them. I am pretty picky since I also do cake decorating and some th imes when you order from places they look good but don't taste as good. But they were delicious and moist. I would love their buttercream recipe...lol

I got my wedding cake from Amy's Cakes and half of it never made it to the wedding. Amy delivered the cake to my renue about 10 minutes away from her shop. As soon as she left, the topper she put on fell and destroyed some of the cake so we called her to come fix it. She fixed the topper but the whole bottom layer of the three tier cake was sagging and fell completely apart before my wedding began. Thankfully the top two layers were able to be saved by my decorator. We called Amy and she would do nothing about the fact that we didn't even get to have half the cake she delivered. She said read your contract I am not obligated to do anything even though the cake stability was her doing. Horrible customer service and cake design/structure! I would advise not buying from Amy if the cake means anything to you!

I had requested a style of cake that they did not make for a baby shower. I sent them the picture and when I picked up the cake I was very pleased! They had pulled off the design flawlessly and the cake was moist and delicious. They actually added the cake to their online catalog and used our cake for the picture. I have never had any issues with them and I will continue to do business with them for all my cake needs. Customer service has always been friendly and quick. FYI The cupcakes are amazing! Always made fresh everyday and the flavors are wonderful. I would recommend to Anyone :)

After using the same bakery for 20 plus years, I moved and needed a good bakery closer to home. I found AmyCakes through a search on the internet. I ordered a cake for my mother in law's 90th birthday. I was pleasantly surprised. This past weekend, I ordered a full sheet cake for a wedding. I really didn't think it would look like the picture I gave them, but when I picked it up, I was shocked. It looked exactly like the picture. Beautiful cakes and delicious as well. They also have very friendly and helpful staff. I know this is my bakery from now on.

So disappointed. Placed an order in store a week in advance for 2 cakes. Came back to pick up my cakes but apparently the order got lost and they didn't have anything for me. I got a couple half hearted apologies but no one offered any solutions to make it right. They asked several questions about how I placed the order and it kinda felt like they were trying to find a way to make it my fault they didn't have my cakes for me. I had to purchase cupcakes as a last minute replacement. I expected they would at least offer a discount on the cupcakes, but I was charged full price. Worst customer service I have experienced in years.

There is always a great variety of tasty goodies. After initially have a miscommunication about a cookie cake, they took a last minute order for my daughter's birthday party and knocked it out of the park. The cookie cake was nice and thick and had the best taste of any cookie cake any of us had eaten in the past! In addition, the decorations were perfect with edible glitter capping it off. Going with Amy's cakes was by far the worst decision of our wedding. Our cake fell apart and we were unable to eat a good portion of it. Had Amy shown any bit of empathy for our situation, this review would look quite different. However, Amy made it clear customer satisfaction took second to making a buck and informed us that they do not guarantee the cake will last through all we needed it to last through. Needless to say the cake we received was well below average in quality and structural integrity and I would highly recommend that you not purchase a cake from Amy's cakes because if you have problems you will be out of luck and she will do nothing for you

Had a bad experience. I ordered a Christmas cookie kit about 12 days in advance via email. The day I went to pick it up they didn't have my kit ready or any record that I ordered it. They even went as far as to ask if I had even paid for it and I had to pull up my bank transaction showing I made payment! Very disappointed with the whole experience and doubt I will use them again. On the cookies themselves, they were ok.

I saw Amy on Cupcake wars and was excited to try what Candice called the most divine buttercream she's had on the show. Man was I disappointed. Super gritty, thick frosting (and hard on some cupcakes), and oh too sugary sweet. The presentation was beautiful but I was disappointed in the taste overall. I will say the macaroons were great.

Her custom birthday cakes for my little boys are always phenomenal and taste incredible...we've turned several friends and family members to Amy for all of their dessert needs as well! You can't go wrong with her cakes or cupcakes...and desserts are delicious too. We like to surprise our boys by stopping by her shop for a quick treat some weekends! You won't be disappointed!

Ordered a birthday cake and the middle of the cake had sunken down after baking it. To cover this up they filled it in with icing. The edges of the cake was ok but the middle was too rich with extra, extra thick icing. Most people refused to eat it. Problem is you do not know about this mistake till you cut into the cake and by then it's too late to do anything. As a small business I understand the value of profit but quality should not suffer. A new cake should have been baked before icing was ever done.

We got Amy Cakes for our wedding and we were really pleased! When we went to the taste testing, it was amazing! They gave us huge slices and a lot of flavors of the cakes and different icings. They even boxed it up and let us take it home because we couldn't finish it. They were cheaper than any other place we had looked at in the area and Amy herself was so nice and helpful! They delivered and set everything up the day of and the presentation was amazing. The cake was a little bit drier on the wedding day then we had remembered, but it was probably just sitting out a little bit at our table. Overall, really impressed and would recommend!

I went to the shop & put in a order over 3 weeks ago for my sons birthday cake & cupcakes. They told me to email picture of cake for pricing & if she could do it. I did that same day & still have no response. I’ve called multiple times they tell me email & they will leave a post it for Amy but I still have yet to hear from them. My sons birthday party is Saturday & no one will make a custom cake with short notice. If I could give negative stars I would! Very unprofessional & disappointing

I had a crazy busy weekend and our foster daughter's 15th birthday (her first birthday to celebrate with us). She literally never had a birthday with a cake and presents. My husband told me to buy a cake instead of making one. So I ordered a $70 cake that literally split apart on a 30 foot, slow, walk from the car to the door. As I was walking I felt the cake shift. It completely fell apart and over! They wouldn't do anything to fix it either because "it left the store fine." No apologies. No offer of a refund. No offer to come get some cupcakes. Consider me an unsatisfied customer.

We had a really awesome cake made for a really nice group of people at Julie’s Guns. Jim is closing his store to be home with his family more. I sent Amy a picture of the gun we wanted and she did such a great job. The owner of the gun store(Jim) and the staff just loved it. We stayed and passed out cake to the customers coming and going from the store and they to loved it. We went back to the store to say goodby to one who couldn’t make it yesterday. And they was still passing out cake. And Jim said that last night at home that is all he could talk about. The cake and what a wonderful thing we did for them(cake). AmyCakes is truly amazing! They have gone above and beyond for us. I was planning my son's first birthday and my momma brain got the best of me. I forgot to call and order the cake I received a quote and they still allowed me to call the next day. We then forgot to pick it up the day before and they stayed a half hour later, so we could pick it up. They are amazing! Plus their cake was adorable!

Great experience. I got my husband his 30th birthday cake - white cake with raspberry filling. Done ip in Deadpool theme. Tasted great, was ready on time, prepaid so pickup was easy, no licensing problems or issues. Only downsides were: they wouldn't accommodate whipped icing, even though the cake wasn't covered in fondant (just fondant decorations on top). Also, I sent them an image I found online, but it was a bit too child oriented. Asked them to take some creative liberty and adult it up a bit: the final cake was exactly like the image. Overall, very happy and would go again.

We called them multiple times about setting up a cake testing over several weeks in December/January, but we never got a call back from anyone. My fiance ended up going in to talk to them about it. She specifically asked what we needed to do for them to hold the date for us, and she was told that nobody had booked them for that date, and it was far enough away to not worry about it. She booked an appointment for a cake testing for our wedding with them, but they cancelled it about 2 hours before. We were told they had someone who had booked and paid them for another event. Horrible customer service. I would HIGHLY recommend Ashley's Pastries in Oakwood for any event. They are very reasonably priced, and very easy to get a hold of.

I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday pictures. It was not what I had requested which was a pink to blue ombre, instead there was a harsh white line between the pink and blue.. I also specifically asked for it to say "ONEderland" as it was her first birthday and the theme of her party was winter ONEderland. It was spelled incorrectly. We got it the night before her pictures so there was no time to get a new one. The cake was hard, my food loving daughter didn't even want to dig into it during her pictures.. they only gave me a $20 refund.. I paid over $40 for the cake. Spending that much on a cake it should be made exactly how it was asked for. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is I had also ordered cookies for my daughters party and they were perfect. I will be back for cookies, however i will never buy a cake from there again.

Absolutely LOVE Amy's Cakes! They designed my daughters 1st birthday cake and smash cake, we were blown away by how beautiful they turned out! They really went above and beyond to make the cakes extra special and perfect. We ordered a strawberry cake as well as a vanilla, the flavors were strong but not overbearing or artificial. The buttercream had a perfect balance of sweetness and lightness. Unlike some of the other bakeries around here (elé) you can easily tell Amy's doesn't use boxed cake mix. We are extremely impressed and grateful, and we'll certainly continue using Amy's for our future orders.

Had a cake made for a First Communion gathering. Absolutely the BEST cake we’ve ever tasted! So moist and delicious- decorated beautifully, too. They were so helpful in the design, paying attention to every detail- and very reasonably priced! AmyCakes is now our favorite bakery for sure!

The appearance and smell of this bakery is 5 stars. I ordered 4 macarons on a Thursday at 1pm and they were the worst macarons I've ever had. They were so stale they cracked in half and broke on the floor. The taste was also overly sweet. My 3 year old daughter took one bit and spit it out and said this tastes horrible! There is no way they were made in the last few days. The look beautiful but the taste is just aweful. If I didnt live 20 minutes away I would have turned around and asked for a refund.

Over priced and low quality. Cake for my daughter's first birthday, left my wife extremely upset over the price we payed and the quality of cake we received. After calling to tell them I was greeted with nothing but excuses and what I would have paid somewhere else. Got a nice sorry from them that's it, that goes a long way when you upset the mom on her daughter's first birthday. NOT. Not happy and will not be returning.

I did not receive what I ordered. It took 2 weeks to get a refund (which was partial). Finally received an email stating i, the customer, was wrong. On January 9, 2018 @ 12:04 pm I went into Amy Cakes to place an order for my daughter's 1st birthday. I ordered (with Amy) a smash cake with turquoise blue frosting and gold writing. I also ordered 12 orange color frosted ,vanilla cupcakes & 12 turquoise blue frosted, chocolate cupcakes. I arrived on February 9 @5pm to pick up the order. The order was wrong and before I stated it was wrong the employee (unknown name) TOLD ME they were wrong and "hoped it was ok". All the cupcakes and the smash cake was frosted a dark teal, almost hunter green color. She said "the order says orange but I didn't know what was suppose to be orange so would like us to use some orange sprinkles instead?". I said, "no because that is not what I ordered". So she told me she would take the vanilla ones and redo them if I could wait about 5 minutes. So I agreed to that because I was in a hurry to get set up for my daughter 1st bday party. She took them in the side room, SCRAPED OFF the dark teal/green icing and topped it with a pastel orange/almost peach color. She brought them back and asked me to sign a contract stating I would not ask for Refund once I left the store with my purchase. I really did not have a choice as I was on my way to my daughters party. The cupcakes still had dark teal/green frosting ALL OVER them along with the orangey color (and all over the container, which made it so messy to carry). We took them home and ate them because it was party time. I answered a billion questions that night such as "why do they look like that?". I promptly sent an email to Amy Cakes and Cookies on February 9 @ 6:45pm. I stated exactly what the problem was and I even stated I was aware of the contact. I also told her that she should have iced new cupcakes instead. I asked for a full refund anyway because she obviously did not follow through with the correct order. She did not reply to my email until February 12th. And to my knowledge it was not Amy(or whomever the owner may be) responding it was another employee. They stated,"I am sorry that your order was not taken correctly, and therefore not done correctly in the first place. This is not typically an issue that we ever have and I am so sorry that it happened with your order, I'm sure it was an inconvenience that you were not expecting. Because of the original mistake and then it not being corrected properly, I would be happy to offer you a partial refund for your order or a store credit - whichever you prefer. Again, I am SO sorry about your experience - we never want to disappoint customers on the day of a big event, especially a first birthday!". It all sounded so good, right?! I replied shortly after and told her that was fine. I sent another email on the 20th because I had not received my partial refund. My email stated that I would be down soon to discuss my FULL refund since no one has taken action or updated me. I told them the were a joke and should be embarrassed. Whomever replied to my last email decided to be not so customer friendly and that sent me through the roof. "The owner had a death in the family and has been busy. Wehave never had such a horrible experience with a customer" and then began to tell me my refund was given and to take any other issues up with Square. VERY POOR customer service ALL THE WAY AROUND. The cupcakes were merely mediocre to begin with. Nothing to be so defensive over.
