The Vault in Valley City is a very neat place to hang out! Pastry and coffee. You pay on the honor system. They have a small stage and musicians can perform and practice. A great place to read or get on wi-fi.

Colby Jett

The h ok ner system is so cool there needs to be more places like this!

Not much of a coffee guy, but I do like architecture, reading, and quiet spaces. So if you like all three of those AND coffee, you'll definitely like this place.

Tara Anderson

Not at all what I expected, but in the best way possible. It's a self-serve Cafe and bookstore / Arts Center, where you can pay with cash or credit and everything is on the honor system. They have K-Cups and brewed coffee as well as cold drinks and snacks. A great little treasure for sure.

It is really cool that a place like this even exists. I respect the owners faith in humanity with the self pay honor system. The inside is very clean, quiet, has good seating, good coffee, and good overall atmosphere. I was visiting from out of town, but you can tell from only being there a short time, this is a place the community greatly appreciates.

Great place to meet friends or just chill on your own. It's self serve with coffee, soda, juices, and some food items. Lots of previously owed books scattered throughout to browse through and for purchase. Fun shop that isn't like anything else you would find and air conditioning for those really hot summer days!

Andrew Reichenberger-Walz

Very unique place! A coffee shop run completely on the honors system! There are no employees, just a self serve coffee machine, baked goods, and cold drinks in the fridge. You put your money in the drop box or swipe your card to pay. The vault also plays movies, hosts music events, and drama performed by the local University. Definitely an awesome concept! It could use a little more upkeep (cleaning/inventory of products/etc), but with no employees, and being in a small town, I understand that this may be difficult. The Vault is one of a kind. Be sure to stop by if you are in the area!

Self serve coffee and bakery! Charming place with historic features. The times I've been there it's been nice and quiet. A lot of books and magazines to look through if you didn't bring anything. There's bakery items, coffee, tea, ice cream, etc there. Parking is on the street.
