Had a bad experience with them today, and its a shame that the owner would not sell me a few pounds of hi gluten flour, since no one else in town sells it. Business is all about keeping the dollars local, but wont sell some of its flour to a potential customer that wants to keep the dollars local. I will take this review down, if the consider reversing there decision and sell me a few pounds of hi gluten flour for a project I want to work on.

Sandwiches are amazing. Fresh bread and rolls. Staff is friendly always a plus. Had the Shakespeare was awesome. Daily specials. Also have some pretty amazing soups. Specialty breads and sweet breads. Nice cozy place!

This is an excellent hidden gem in downtown Bismarck. From the outside, it's a bit hard to spot, but once you're inside, you will remember where it's at for a long time. Their menu has enough choices to satisfy just about everyone looking for a sandwich with some of the freshest ingredients found in the area. The staff is very friendly, knowledgable, and passionate at what they do. The restaurant is clean, well organized, and easy to navigate. If you are going through Bismarck, I highly recommend stopping here for lunch. You will not be disappointed.

I was hesitant to buy $7 bread but it was awesome! I will now be buying it regularly. It was so dense I used a couple of pieces and just dipped it in honey. The one downfall, and why it is 4 stars, is there is no expiration date on it and having grown up with them, I would like one.

Great stop for a quick bite of lunch! Great sandwich selection and the soup of the day is always something tasty (especially the cheeseburger fondue). Limited seating makes it a little hard for a group of 3-4 to find a place but for a solo or pair venture it's a great choice.

They sell unique sandwiches that are delicious. They also make their own wide variety of breads. You can purchase loafs to bring home. If you have not tried it yet, you could be missing some really good food.

Such amazing food! I had never been here before. I was AMAZED at how soft the multigrain bread was. Normally you expect it to be somewhat dry but it was perfect. Just walking past the store is an experience since you can smell the amazing food baking.

Such tasty bread here! The sandwiches are great too. Get ten sandwiches and get the next one free! My favorite are the salted caramel cookies! The cinnamon log is good too. I also got a load of lefse bread recently, but I never got to try it because the dog ate the whole thing before I ever got to it. Must have been really tasty!

I've gone here for years for lunch during the week. It's consistent, good, and reasonably priced. Can get busy at lunch but they still get your food out quick. Minus one star for the awkward tip line on the credit card slip, and they make you ask about the punch card instead of just offering.

Love their sandwiches! It's kinda confusing when you walk in, your not sure who has been helped but the staff is quick to greet you and ask what you need. Did I mention I love their sandwiches, their tomato soup is great too!

Until today this was easily my favorite place in Bismarck\Mandan to get a sandwich., We were always treated well and the food was pretty great., I've taken many people there to enjoy the same experience in the last 3 years or so. Today I ordered the Studebaker because it's my favorite, I ate half and all was well until I looked at my next bite., There was a piece of bacon that had black mold embedded IN the fatty portion of the bacon roughly 3/4" in diameter clearly visible on both sides with a whitish slime on one side., I showed the person behind the counter who is almost always there and she says "what? It's just bacon" like I've never seen bacon before or don't know what mold looks like. I said "it's mold" she disagreed and I asked her to just throw it in the trash. She did and I went back to my table. While I waited for my daughter to get out of the restroom I inspected the rest of my sandwich and found another piece of bacon that was grey and slimy. I threw my sandwich in the trash and left. At no time was I rude and I didn't ask for anything else but expected at least an apology or an offer to remake my sandwich. Neither happened and I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed I am in this situation., I seriously loved this place and now I can't go back and eat there again due to the way they handled this incident., It's an absolutely disgusting thought when I even consider it as an option. I guess we had a good run while it lasted but I will not recommend this place to anyone again., It will be quite the opposite. Sad how one experience can ruin everything. Wish I'd taken a picture but the one I'm posting with this review looks exactly the same as what they tried to serve me.

Great tasting breads, sandwiches and soups. Order ahead of time during peak hours as the lines can get pretty long. Some of their breads contain high fructose corn syrup--a fact I learned from reading the ingredients listed at their Dan's market stand--it is not listed on the breads they sell at their store so you'd have to ask them when you order (if that's a concern).
