You will see the reviews of people like you who are purchasing the services of Guglhupf Bakery, Cafe & Biergarten (Bakery) in the area close to North Carolina.
As of day this firm receives a score of 4.6 stars over 5 and the rating was based on 1548 reviews.
As you can read, the average of ratings is virtually the highest, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may think that the valuation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Bakery is included in the category of Restaurant.
Simon was a huge help & Ki was a great cashier for a large order. This place is full of kind staff and customers. I had a great time with my big family from Atlanta and the food was so fresh and eclectic for choices. Will go again!
I love everything about this place except the price. The food is very good and I love the pastries. Although a bit overpriced I will return here, just not as often as I would like.
Impressed by the uncommon German beers on draft. Food was modern, but still familiar, and prepared perfectly.
Good coffee and dessert selections. Nice eclectic feel
This place has a good bakeries. The services are always nice and super friendly. I usually go here for breakfast and to crowded especially in the weekend. And sometime I come for coffee and desert or lunch. My favorite dish is the pancakes. Highly recommended.
Really eccentric looking place with amazing food. The schnitzel with mushroom gravy is outstanding. The Targaryen Collins is the most refreshing cocktail you'll have in the Triangle. The caramelized lemon bar is the perfect end to your meal.
Even though it was a packed Saturday crowd, the service and atmosphere were great. Not cheap though, expect $10-$15 brunch entrees. Some of the pastries and drinks are priced better.
We've only been once, but can't wait to go back! Very good food, fresh bread, beers. Mmmm.
Always a nice time! Love the seating and bakery, food is very good - lunch time is the best time to go :)
Excellent authentic German food. I grew up in Germany, and going here takes it back for me. Great food, drinks, and German beer! I highly recommend that you try it out. Truly one of the local gems.
Good food and drinks but very slow service upstairs. Bring your patience.
Kevin the bartender was absolutley wonderful. The food and drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere Charming, eclectic and intimate. Will definitely return.
Really cool atmosphere, especially outside. A great place to go in nice weather. Order at the counter unless you sit at the small bar. We had the schnitzel which was very tender and perfectly crispy however it didn't fill us up for long. The beers were great and the bartender was helpful in explaining the beers and picking out some we would like.
I didnt like the food. No good
Excellent German Fusion with a really cool atmosphere!
Great ambiance, the decor is super aesthetic and the food is even better. The meat is so tender and juicy!
Delicious food, great coffee, and a delicious & tempting bakery attached. Always a good time with a peaceful atmosphere.
Amazing desserts and drinks. Food was really good too and the prices were very adequate. Definitely will come back
Whether just for baked goods or a full meal, a wonderful place to eat and drink.
I loved this place. I just came for breakfast but have to come back for lunch. The atmosphere is out of the Eastern European countryside and the breakfast dishes and coffee were amazing. I would've liked to see more options in the bakery, but still a nice selection. Be happy to come back another time.
Guglhupf has the best atmosphere inside and out of any restaurant in Durham and easily the best pastries. Delicious menu anytime of day. Perfect for a sunny summer brunch or a special indoor dinner. We love coming here.
Walking in and getting a seat was very easy. I sat upstairs on a pretty hot summer day and upstairs was noticeably hotter than where we walked in. There were ceiling fans spinning, but heat always just rises. This is the only negative item I've ever encountered here among several visits. That tells me that the food is THAT good to keep coming back! Not only that, I come back with new people!
No potatoes with breakfast of any kind. Please stop trying to be so fancy and serve real food. What I had was good but just so fake. There is something to be said for good food at A REAL PLACE and you have it half right. Look up Halls chophouse in Charleston SC . They are doing what your trying to.
The whole family loved this place. First, the scenery is beautiful. Cute tiny man made pond with growing greenery (cabbage?). Thr decor inside is beautiful (see photos). We ordered the pork curried soup and it was delish! Even my tot loved it ! Hubby got the bratwurst with sauerkraut and loved it. The kids grilled cheese was definitely my favorite! It was ooey gooey goodness! My special order latte was perfect, including the foam art. We sat upside and it was just great. We will definitely return.
I love the food and the coffee. And i live the atmosphere. I go as much as possible
Service was great, food was ready in a reasonable amount of time even though it was busy, food was delicious. Seating was first come first serve and may be hard to find a spot if it gets extremely busy
Great food Eat in or out Really a neat place
Really busy at brunch. The seating concept was odd. You order at a counter and then try to find a table then they find you with your food. I'd rather you order and have a table. Food was good!
Fantastic place for brunch on weekends... especially when the weather is nice!
Lives up to the reputation. Cocktails are exceptional, food was great, and the service was also exceptional. The bread was some of the best that I have had around the world. Just wow.
Their cakes are one of the best I've had! Smooth texture, not overly sweet. The price is very reasonable too!
Lovely delicious local bakery. I really crave their pretzel bread. Good place to stop for Breakfast on the weekend. Always busy though so come prepared knowing you may stand in line to order and then may wait to find a place to sit.
Fast to order, fast to sit, drinks came quickly with lunch soon after. Nice table upstairs. Everything was delicious. Nothing I didn't like about this place.
An amazing German cafe. They've got some vegan options too. The ambience is great. The staff is amazing. There was a mix up with our order and the staff readily exchanged it. Do try the special German deserts. They have a great variety of drinks too. Both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Also, I'd recommend taking the Vietnamese cold coffee. Would definitely visit again if I'm in Durham.
Great food with a cool atmosphere. Staff was helpful on food suggestions. While we had no problems with wait, the line was quite long after we had gotten our food. Prices, while a little high, aren’t any worse than Panera and the food is better here.
Beautiful spot with a nice bakery and coffee shop. Reminds me of my time in Europe. Upon arrival, you walk down a staircase with an outdoor water feature to your left with lots of covered outdoor seating. The interior has a unique layout with a very tall ceiling and whimsical artistic chandeliers. I had a cappuccino which was well prepared. Definitely want to come back and try their bread next.
One of my favorite restaurants in Durham. Beautiful outdoor seating, wonderful food, and an awesome bakery!
We were there for their 8th annual mushroom dinner which was absolutely amazing!
Great ambiance and the food and drinks were pretty darn good, too.
So I was at this place twice during my service year. Once with my aunt, another time with a friend. When was with my aunt I got a sausage dish. It was good but a bit pricey. I went for brunch and ordered the farmers omelet which and a coffee. It was about $12 when you account for tax. Then I went to the bakery side and ordered a delicious almond pastry. It was a treat so I wasn’t paying attention to price. A note for people who have celiac disease: the things with the green labels in the bakery are made without gluten ingredients but since it’s not a dedicated gluten free bakery there’s potential for cross contamination so order at your own risk. Same with the restaurant side: things labeled “wheat free” are made without gluten ingredients but may not be safe for celiacs.
Looking for fresh baked bread that is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside? Looking for fruit tarts that have the correct ratio of butter crust, cream filling, and fruit topping? Aching for german treats and cookies? Then this is your only stop in Durham.
Our favorite bread bakery in town. Their Parmesan-Black Pepper is our favorite and we stop by regularly on weekends to pick it up.
Delicious German food and beautiful seating both inside and outside with speedy and friendly service. The bakery has many delicious pastries and German market items as well. One of my favorite spots in Raleigh/Durham! It has been here for decades and it isn't hard to see why.
Literally my go to place whenever I'm in the mood of perfection. Guglhupf never disappoints when you're looking for the perfect breakfast and or lunch. I recommend going for both and enjoy the symphony of flavors that only Guglhupf can offer.
Loved the cheese danish. They do it perfectly. Not too sweet and no junk filler
Great food and vibe but service could be better.
The only place in Durham with decent bread. It would be great if there was a place to lock my bike.
Free parking; limited spaces. Visible from traffic. Close to UNC/Hospital. 2 floors for seating; has/had an old piano upstairs and I had to play w/ on it; staff got a kick out of it. There's a bakery and sweets shop connected to it which is great. Now to the food: Delicious and Authentic. I came b/c my dad was a Soldier [RIP] and loved Germany's culture and food while stationed there; he wanted to return one day. So, I wanted to grant this wish somehow which led to the search/discovery of this gem. I picked him up and we were on the 1st "flight" to Germany... he lit up with humor. Upon arrival, he saw the name/menu and immediately said, "Do they have Pork Schnitzel's?" Let's just say when he bit into the Pork Schnitzel, memory lane just flowe; stories I'd never heard. I requested the Chicken Schnitzel and we both enjoyed the meal. #IwillforeverbeINDEBTED to this wonderful place. Everything is amazing. Food. Service. Atmosphere. Everything!
The food was fine but I really didn't like the set up. You get in a long line to place your order at the register. Then you find a seat somewhere. Then they bring you your food. I guess it was supposed to be a take out place? It got kinda hectic looking for a place to sit. There's an upstairs, inside and outside seating.
Adorable cafe/brunch spot. There are many beautiful windows with natural light, fun artistic pieces to check out inside and delicious vegetarian options! I loved having brunch with a friend here and will definitely be back.
Beside the atmosphere, the experience was really meh. Went on a Friday for lunch, ordered the clam soup special which the menu stated $11.95, but got charged for $13. Not a big amount of money, but still why?!! Asked the cashier who took the order and he had to go through the manager to price adjust which took a bit of time... when the entree came out, there was no baguette, which was also stated on the menu. When I asked the staff, she said it doesn’t come with the entree but she could bring me some. Which she eventually did when I was almost done with my meal. Not sure if that was just a one-time thing or maybe I should not have ordered the daily special on menu. Either way, the experience was not good.
If you have not been here you owe it to yourself to go, my favorite is the Cherry cream cheese danish and they sell them by the half dozen at a discount! I remember having some sort of fish dish there, it was really tasty, as well as one morning I had pancakes there, they were good One can sit outside and listen to the waterfalls or the rain on the plexiglass roof as they enjoy their delicious treats or you can go to the second floor inside and enjoy the warmth at the Pinnacle of the room and the delicious smells that waft up there
When we visited on Saturday morning, Guglhupf was hoppin'. Tons of people, including us, enjoying tasty, well-prepared food and coffee drinks better than *bucks. Yet, despite the crush, we were able to place our orders, be seated, and be served in a very reasonably short time. Everyone was pleasant. We three had muesli, which was cool, creamy, smooth, and delicious; the salmon plate featuring sliced salmon, vollkornbrot, salad, and cornichons; and the farmer's omelette: eggs, sausage, and caramelized onions. Try their seasonal coffee drinks; the fig and pepper latte was heavenly. Just go.
We really enjoyed brunch at Guglhupf. We had eggs Benedict, eggs Arnold, and the omelet. All were wonderful. The meals came with a side order of fruit, which is greatly appreciated. 2 of us also each got a mocha latte, which was a real treat. Beside the restaurant is a bakery with breads and desserts. We tried 3 of the desserts all of which were excellent. This is a very casual restaurant. You order at a counter, fetch your own utensils and water, and then go find a table and your order is brought to you. It can get very noisy. We had a bit of difficulty finding an open bussed table. Our food was delivered very promptly. I would return!
Love. Coming here on Saturday for breakfast
Great bread and pastries! Lovely atmosphere. Bring back the muesli dish from 10 years ago which was less sweet and less cinnamon-y. It was more authentically German and yummier.
Really cool ambience and great food. Also top notch service. Our food was taking a little longer to get out while we were there, so they proactively gave us complimentary desserts and drinks. We never said anything about the wait (honestly had only barely noticed)--they did this all on their own. It shows they really care about their customers and the experience they have while there.
Amazing. Saw it on a TV show years ago and finally found myself close enough to make a run. Totally recommend it.
Good food and a nice atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor dining areas. The chocolate croissant and turkey panini were great. The eggs Benedict were also good.
Went here for brunch. Great food. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The staff was very nice and friendly. Bloody Mary was very good, definitely use fresh horseradish which I love! They also had a great selection of pastries that were fantastic! Definitely will be coming back here again in the future.
Combining schnitzel with gravy was a stroke of genius
Great atmosphere. Chic but not overly so. We came during at 1:40pm on a weekday, so traffic was almost non-existing. Good music, chic decor. Wonderful meal.
Well, I'm not a fan of the restaurant, BUT, fantastic bread at the bakery. FANTASTIC!
This place is the cutest thing I've ever seen! If you need a break from the fast paced city, you can catch your breath as soon as you hit the parking lot here. It's a perfect country Cafe that have everything you could ever ask for!
Wedding Cake- Guglhupf made our wedding cake for a September 2019 wedding in Durham and they did an amazing job! All of our vendors were great, but Guglhupf went above and beyond for our tasting, to helping coordinate delivery of the florist's flowers for additional decoration, to delivery on the day-of! 5/5, use them!
Great place with the great atmosphere and delicious food.
Sunday brunch was just okay. I had the Eggs Benedict and it didn't excite me, really enjoy a "lemony" hollandaise which theirs was not. Patio is still a great place to sit, a lot of families out there just letting the kids run wild. Having said all that, I am sure we'll go back.
We love guglhupf. Great for coffee and treats, even better for date night. Beautiful setting and tasty food!!
The pastries I tried were great! I intend on visiting again to enjoy a full breakfast! Definitely brings a lovely piece of Deutschland back to NC!
Great atmosphere, really good food, solid cocktails, would have liked to see larger portion sizes
Beautiful outdoor patio, amazing bakery & food
Good food, great ambiance...may be a little on the pricey side.
Nice food good service .
Pastries are delicious, food is yummy as all get out. My best recommendation is the iced Vietnamese coffee— sweet creamy perfection. It’s expensive for a student budget but worth the occasional splurge :)
Great vegan options, beautiful setting, and outstanding service!
Guglhupf takes on different personas for lunch and dinner. Lunch/brunch is a casual order at the cash register and take a number so the wait staff can deliver your food. The only place to get drinks, though, is directly across from the cash register. Be prepared if you go upstairs to find seating because you will have to go back downstairs to get a refill. The selections are delicious. At night it becomes a typical restaurant with waiter service. The food is everything from vegan to German fare. But be sure to visit the bakery just opposite the entrance to the restaurant. Wonderful delicasies that you will not find anywhere else
Beautiful atmosphere, inside and out. Good authentic German food. Great drinks.
Delicious Ruben and Boozy Limeaid!
The bakery is amazing. I loved the omelets. I enjoy breakfast here.
Awesome. Lemon Thyme (honey? Maybe) cake pergect balance not too grassy/herby or tart, almond chewy tart delightful, black forest like a filled popover, foccacia tomato cheese - a little tough but very tasty, cinnamon schneke (snail, i learned) tasty a bit crumbly substantial
Excellent food and unique outdoor seating. Arrive early for Sunday mornings!
We really enjoyed our lattes and Danish! They had a robust food menu we didn't explore. Their are open for all three meals. They have a large area inside and out for seating.
Such a wonderful little place, tucked into a hollow. Great breakfast, friendly staff, never disappoints.
Excellent selection of German beers; tasty food; good atmosphere, indoors and out.
Great food and service. I had the pork medallions which were great. When they say small plate they aren't kidding so do be mindful of that when ordering. There were seven of us and they handled the slightly larger group well and everyone else seemed to really like their dishes. The menu is a spiffy spin on German food so don't expect 100% authentic dishes across the board, but the food is great.
This place is legit. My family and I have visited for years and have never once been disappointed.
Some of the most authentic German food I have had outside of Germany and my mother's or Oma's kitchen. Highly recommend.
This place is a gem! The menu had Germany written all over it without being typical of the usual ethnicnally- themed restaurant. The breads are outstanding and plentiful. The service was spot on. The food lives up to the yummy descriptions without being overstepped by the moderate prices.
I ordered a chicken sandwich with avocado. Very little chicken on this sandwich!!! The restaurant was clean and the staff was nice. I wasn’t impressed with the food
Very few options for people who don't eat pork. If you're looking for "normal" food, this is not the place for you. Definitely much more culture-specific.
Ordered a Black Forest special b'day cake for my wife from this place. The cake looked good but the cherries within the cake are not that great. Little pricey.
One of my favorite local spots! The bakery has the best French pastries (and German bread) that I know of in the area, by far. Note that is strictly German-style (and perhaps ciabatta) breads -- their baguette is not a true baguette and leaves much to be desired, but there are so many other items that are amazingly well-made that you hardly miss it. The cafe has great deli items for e.g. sandwiches or a bread plate (so-called "brotzeit"), as you would expect from any reasonably authentic German place. Oh also -- a pretty decent selection of imported German beer is available for purchase both to dine in (at the cafe) and take home with you (from the bakery). That's a highlight I definitely recommend!
Excellent food and really extensive grog list! Had the schnitzel which was awesome. Highly recommend checking this place out if in the area! They have a great bakery as well. Indoor and outdoor seating areas. We sat upstairs, but any place to sit has a great atmosphere.
Amazing outdoor seating and amazing food. Reasonably priced, great beer/cocktails.
The flounder fish burger was excellent. Will be going back
Wonderful German cuisine. Friendly staff. You can't go wrong, eating inside or out if the weather is right. Great atmosphere.
Fantastic atmosphere with an excellent selection of German bier!
Great food and beer. Can go wrong. But wow, the table service is very frustrating. Waiting ten minutes to be greeted, 15 minutes for the check! Will only be sitting at the bar from now on. Very unenjoyable.
Very tasty restaurant. They are mindful of food allergies and are Austrian-approved. The pastry case was full of tasty-looking cakes and my mocha was perfect. I had the market salad and the mixture of fresh lettuce and goat cheese was satisfying. The ambiance was interesting and engaging, even if just a bit crowded. You have to order at the counter, but there is some table service. The servers were helpful and understanding about the restaurant's intricacies.
Great setting and really accommodating staff. Excellent selection of German drafts. Menu items varied from great to just so-so. Melon salad and pork croquettes were out of this world!
This is such a fun little restaurant with amazing outdoor seating. They've really upped their game in the past few years. The chicken pesto sandwich is fantastic.
It's pricey but it's worth it. The lunch fare is bested only by the dinner fare. Splurge on the schnitzel and your taste buds won't regret it. (Your waistline might. But shh.) Guglhupf's baked goods are second to none in the Durham area and their variety of cheeses are not to be missed. A friend of mine just turned a year older and there was no questioning it -- we picked up desserts from Guglhupf without a second thought. Check it out sometime. But bring some real cash when you do.
Great atmosphere, food and service
Great coffee. The location is also awesome. There's great parking availability on site and the seating inside is great.
Excellent Sunday brunch. Not a wait for a table and food was out quick. Friendly staff and great eggs Benedict. Amazing pastries not to be missed!
Solid brunch! Just be prepared, because it does get very busy on the weekends, and parking and tables can be a challenge. The eggs are great, the pancakes are great, I just steer clear of the desserts :(. I don’t like mousse, and all the chocolate stuff is mousse-like. Some of the other pastries are kinda dry.
Lovely and quaint place for a meal! Love the coffee and sandwiches..!! My son's recommendation!!
Come for breakfast or dinner and you will not be disappointed. Try dinner on the patio in the summer when lit up with sting lights or breakfast on the third floor surrounded by paper chandeliers. You will not be disappointed!
Fantastic ambience and food. Vegan menu is wonderful, service is great, and decor is gorgeous. Have enjoyed dinner here many times and the food is very consistent.
This place is a nightmare. Everything about it is tiny and loud. The staff are miserable. Hell on Earth would be a better name for this place. The surrounding area is full of rude people and is awful to drive in. Avoid this place at all costs. The food is disgusting looks like it was made by a child raised on Mars.
A delicious chai tea, satisfying salads and great daily brunch menu
This place is EXCELLENT. The best food I've had in the Raleigh-Durham area. I had the Alsace tart & it was TO DIE FOR. The fruit tart for dessert was very good as well.
A beautiful restaurant with great vegan options and fantastic service! One of my favorite spots in the area.
Beautiful place. Outside and inside seating is lovely. Pastries and lunch are always on point. Take visitors here for a lovely lunch together.
Menu difficult to understand. Canned music too loud. Waiter very courteous and helpful. Food?
The food was great! If you never ate German food, this food would not disappoint you. Authentic food as close you can get. The waiter recommended the brotzeit pick 3 appetizers which is a multiple selection from veggie side hummus to black ham. A great way to start a meal.
A wonderful setting and really good coffee and pastries. the breakfast is also very good. I would advise trying baked goods from the bakery. The only issue is the parking on the weekends.
Good food, nice spot to have brunch. Not crazy about waiting in line to order though.
Charming spot, as you walk in down the side steps you feel like you're entering a little nook with a creek on the country side. Order up-front and sit where you please. No frills, straightforward and wholesome food.
The food and bakery are certainly amazing, but the architecture and fabrication of the building is better than most at galleries. The entire place is art, it is worth a visit just to grab a coffee or pastry and discover all the little details.
Awesome café and bakery! I ordered cafe au lait and their eggplant panini with German potato salad. The coffee was great and the food was good. My only complaint with my sandwich was that the eggplant was extremely tough and difficult to bite off, especially when you're fighting the stretchy mozzarella on it. The German potato salad was some of the best I've had in a while. It was very different from and I've had back home; it's acidic, but kind of sweet. It's extremely balanced. My friend purchased the reuben; we traded half of our sandwiches so we got to try both. Her reuben was one of the best things I've tasted in Durham. The corned beef wasn't excessively salty and the sauerkraut didn't stink. After we finished our meals we headed to the bakery. They have a large selection of breads and pastries at very reasonable prices. We purchased a yellow macaron and a coral macaron. The yellow was a vanilla honey flavor and the coral was peach amaretto. They were both delicious; light and flaky, but chewy and tasty. Definitely a good dessert option after a meal there. I purchased a cheese danish but have not tried it yet since we've been in town all day, but I bet it's phenomenal.
Outdoor patio friendly to dogs. Delicious food, reasonable prices!
ATMOSPHERE & FLAVOR = Five stars. Even the aromas in the veranda were so lovely and fresh, there’s no where quite like this. Our iced chai was nutty and creamy. The charcuterie plate was super rich, a variety of flavor for the palate: lemony, tart, savory, pickled, sweet freshness, such variety and with beautiful presentation! I loved people watching here. We will be back to try the fruit tart & other French desserts we saw peeps noshing on. Also saw a big German soft pretzel that looked SO yummy. This place will stand out in my memory; it’s a must-check-out kind of a cafe & bar!
1st time trying German food and this was DELICIOUS. Had dinner here and the service was exceptional, very attentive staff + our waiter and it seemed like a team effort was given by all staff to support every table. Looking forward to coming back and trying breakfast, brunch and lunch and desserts! The inside and outside is GORGEOUS, cocktails and cider were superb!
Excellent spot for coffee, baked goods and Sunday brunch! Nice relaxing inside and outside seating! Bakery attached for fresh breads and other selections! Great gem in Durham!
Great taste breakfast and coffee. Croissants are delicious; just savory enough without the overpowering butter rush. Farmers omelet, roast beef a jus, avocado with tomato and Chile on a croissant, pancakes for the kids, French press coffee, cappuccino, and chai. Definately a go to for us as newcomers to this area.
It's a beautiful place, and the food is good. But, it's way too expensive to be quite as "self-serve" as it is. Especially when it is so terribly crowded, like on a Sunday at brunch time. I had a delicious tomato salad, and it was pretty. However, it was also $15.
One of the most authentic German places I've eaten in the US. A bit boujee. Great for a special night. The outside seating area is gorgeous and more casual during the day.
Even my youngest can appreciate the brilliance of the ‘Hupf! Perfectly done German-American fare with German bier. There is an attached bakery for your brot and Berliner. The outdoor Biergarten is very pleasant when the weather is nice. They occasionally do special pairing dinners and events. Reservations recommended.
This is an adorable cafe. The outdoor seating is magical, with lots of plants catching the light, fountains, and German decorations. I adore this place!! The bakery, which you can buy at and then bring your treat to the tables to eat, has delicious muffins. The only bad thing is that occasionally they are open but don't have any menu open at that time, like around 5pm, and you can only get a limited choice of items like cheese platters.
Great food, coffee, service and atmosphere.
Great Place to take my clients for breakfast.
Absolutely the best. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere with delicious food.
Guglhupf is a fantastic Cafe and bakery. Both the drinks and food that I've gotten from here have been great, but the real selling point is the atmosphere. it has an interesting combination of Asian and German inspired aesthetic pieces. If you are looking for an interesting brunch place in the Durham area then this is it.
The ambiance is quite lovely. Perfect spot for outdoor brunch. Everything I've tried there has been amazing, especially the pastries and bread, of course.
Food was good, and it’s a great place to hangout with friends or family.
I really don’t like the food. I tried different dishes over there, especially I want to talk about the pasta that doesn’t look like pasta it’s more like a dumpling with some soup. And that tastes awful. only Hummus tastes good among all the dishes.
Love their breakfast selection and coffee.
Food and atmosphere are good, prices are a bit much for what you get.
Great pastries, amazing tea selection
Lunch was very tasty . I had the knackwurst with potato salad. The sweet peppers were well seasoned. The knackwurst properly cooked. The spaetzle roll was excellent. The schniztel and gazpacho were ordered by others and they liked them as well. When the weather is nice, as it was today, they have a pleasant outdoor garden.
Their tarts are great but way too expensive. The Chapel Hill location has absolutely nowhere to sit— they need to relocate as parking is cramped here too, and dangerous. Their breads are excessively dry and that is a comment based on multiple attempts at paying ridiculous prices for stuff that we throw out to the chickens basically.
Have only been a few times and only for the Sunday breakfast. We like it. Only disappointment was the food we ordered was missing ingredients because they were out of them... Understandable, except no one told us they were out when we ordered. Could have sent it back so I appreciated that. I didn't. It was still very good.
Great food in a steampunk atmosphere. I absolutely love the patio.
Amazing and authentic modern German food
What ruined our experience was when my partner told me that she witnessed an employee use the restroom and return to the kitchen without washing her hands. In honesty, the food was fairly tasty and appropriately priced but we will likely not return due to the hygiene discrepancy.
We love Guglhupf for breakfast with our little ones. It's so nice to find a place where you can get a great breakfast with quick service and a lovely outdoor ambiance. The vanilla latte's are delicious and our girls love the little cookies they come with. Definitely try the pancakes! and if you're looking for a sweet...chocolate torte.
This place is amazing! My family is from Germany and has been looking for a real authentic restaurant in the area and Guglhupf definitely offers this! The atmosphere is beautiful, service is awesome, and there are lots of food options! The bakery is also really cool and well priced. I will definitely be coming back here:)
