Service at this place is great! Each and every time I have an opportunity to walk in, I am instantly greeted by Mary Ellen who's professionalism and work ethic exceed the wonderful array of choices of food. When a place has great food and incredible staff members such as Mary, its a no brainer to decide where to go when the craving hits. If anyone is ever in the Union City area, be sure to stop by and make a new friend, as I did, which is why I can honestly say that she is truly a GEM! - oh, and the food is worth the trip as well!

The cakes on the window caught my daughter's attention, so of course we had to go inside. The cake designs are pretty awesome. The lady behind the counter (Mary Elen) is super sweet. I love how she interacted with my 4 year old. We purchased an assortment of desserts. To my surprise the designed cookies (emoji & unicorn) were tasty! And, the chocolate mouse was rich in flavor and soft in texture. We'll be back!

I must say I'm a little disappointed at the service. Stopped in at 6:10am since I saw that it opened at 6 am(rare for this area). Welp, I was wrong! I still waited since at this point I wound have time to go anywhere else and it's close to the highway. Lady opened at 6:22 and told me that the time posted online is the winter hour. Ok, ordered a ham and cheese on a croissant, listed on the menu for $3.99. Well I didn't know this was only for the ham and cheese and an additional $2 for the crossaint. I had originally gone for pastries, but considering how long it took to get service I skipped it.

I can smell when a bakery is going to be good or not. I don’t know what the smell is but it’s the mark of the cookies not tasting good. Perhaps it’s fake vanilla, perhaps it’s the sugar they use. I don’t know but the smell is there lingering outside and in.

This place was really good! We tried the apple turnover, the banana nut muffin, cinnamon roll, and sandwich rolls which the kind staff added cheese to for us. All of them were fresh and good, and the winner was definitely the sandwich roll (sesame, black seed and plain). I wanted to thank the kind lady for being so nice and patient while we were having a hard time choosing among the pastries!

We got our wedding cake from Palermo Bakery as part of our catering package with Mayfair Farms. Palermo did a beautiful job on our wedding cake. They were incredibly easy to work with when we went to pick out our cake flavors and even sent us home with samples! The cake that we picked out from their sample book looked exactly like the cake that was delivered on our wedding day. They worked with our florist to make sure the cake was decorated as asked and it was delivered and set up expertly. We got a white buttercream cake with vanilla with raspberry custard filling and chocolate with chocolate fudge as our tiers. The cake was moist and the fillings were delicious. The icing on the outside was delicious as well. We actually didn't end up freezing our top tier for our first anniversary because we were too eager to eat it after the wedding! Thank you Palermo for the beautiful and delicious cake!

Our wedding venue supplied the cake vendor as it was included in our packaged price. There were two bakery options and we chose Palermo's because it is a well known bakery in the area and the other I had not heard of before. The cake was great and turned out the way I had described to the woman I had met with. When completing the reservation on their website it asks you to list any food allergies, I also called to make sure they were aware before my appointment. Much to my surprise when I arrived they told me that they could not accommodate my husband's peanut & tree nut allergy. I wasn't given an actual reason but told that they simply cannot make a cake in a "nut free" area. The venue was kind enough to make us a separate cake that we could eat and feed each other with for photos. One would think that in 2018, with allergies as prevalent as they are, a bakery as large as Palermo's could accommodate such a common allergy, just like MOST other restaurants/bakeries do every day.

Its a typical bakery so I can't imagine why it received that other negative review. The real ding against the place is the lack of air conditioning in the summer months which makes buying there (and I assume working there) rather inhospitable.

When I called I was hung up on twice, transferred to 4 different people and was on the phone for 30 min. We were on a trip and happened to stay within walking distance of this bakery. We had it every morning of our stay. Loved the coffee (black and hot lattes), loved the croissant breakfast sandwich but ESPECIALLY fell in love with the donuts! I have never tasted such an incredible, fluffy, fresh donut such as Palermos' chocolate sprinkled donut before or since. The service was decent.
