REVIEWS OF NY Cake IN New York

Nick Lozano

Don't waste your time coming here. Called this store and asked them if they had a baking good. They said they had it in stock. But when my wife went to pick it up (within the hour) they said they had no idea what she was talking about. Very rude, extremely unhelpful and a total waste of time.

Omri Abarbanel

I had quite a different experience with this place, comparing to other reviews here. First of all, this place has everything. It has stuff that are hard to find in the city, and in good prices too. I had a good experience with the staff here, as they offered their help multiple times, and where very helpful when I needed their service. It'd not as fancy as Williams Sonoma or Sur la Table, but better and without the unneeded glitter and high prices.

YMiranda145

I'M A KID AT A CANDY STORE WITH THIS PLACE!

Itai Schadmi

Love the new layout. Still in the process of getting everything up and running but the staff is courteous and very friendly. Good luck in the new place.

Pat Dial

I this is my home away from home, it's about a block from the M and F train, if your driving a parking garage is directly across the street. The prices are reasonable, the store is neat and well stocked with just about everything you need. Best of all the staff are friendly and always available to assist you.

saby bravo

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place fames itself in being friendly, yet I had the worst experience that I would never expect. Over a month before I needed a cake for an event I went in to the store, hopeful and excited that I would get the perfect cake. I specified materials, colors and expectations and spoke with the owner Lisa Mansour in person, over the phone and via email with specifications on a cake. She was so happy to assist me then and gave me a price for all that I asked for. However, the day of my event the cake was completely not what I expected. Buttercream instead of fondant among other request that was agreed on before making the payment. The employees were no help at all as they said I can just call back the next day so they can fix this error, and I was stuck with a cake for my major event. 4 days later after getting tired of waiting for a response from them, I called 3 times only for them to give me false hope in passing me with Lisa. I spoke with Manager Lester and assistant Michelle, they both assured me Lisa would call within the hour which never happened. A week later she finally calls me stating that she just came from vacation and starts arguing what I was complaining about if I got a 'beautiful cake' which was not the point, I was charged for something that I did not receive. After going back and forth and Lisa even telling me "do you make cakes" told me that I will be receiving a check from them for the difference. I follow up within the hour via email asking how much is the amount I will be receiving in check form them and for my surprise Lisa replied that she would refund me for the difference OF HOW MUCH JUST THEIR FONDANT COSTS (RETAIL PRICE)!!!! Not even adding in labor or any other materials involved to get the fondant to stick to the cake, or the decorations. Not to mention even her math was wrong after sending me charts of how much fondant per inch of cake will be needed. The fact that I had to chase them for over a week to get an answer like that was so unprofessional. I've never met someone so cheap and greedy in my life. Needless to say I contacted the Better Business Bureau. This is not the class of businesses that we need to support. Update as of 6/24: no resolution has been set up. Owner Lisa Mansour has failed to reply to me and Better Business Bureau on a solution. Please please be aware before placing a cake order or anything else from this place. If anyone needs to verify this, please go to better business bureau website and look for this establishment. Since there was no resolution (after 2+ months, the review will live there forever due to failure to reply from NY cake.

Allison Garcia

Has everything you need to make an amazing cake and they even offer classes .

Sudhanshu Thanedar

Really small for the huge amount of items they carry. Also have baking classes

Nicole Simmons

Don't like baking but they had everything from soup to nuts.

Erlinda Brent

They get one star because I cannot give them no stars. I googled them for the address. “Closes at 6!” I took a subway and a taxi on the hottest day. Guess what? They are closed!!!! Kind of angry even though this is a First World Problem!!!!

Supplies for bakers, a lots of interesting things

Stuart A. Thompson

How do these places expect to stay in business? Walked here for something advertised on their website. Couldn’t find it. Asked blank-faced associates who had no idea what I was even asking about. “Aisle three?” They didn’t have it. Won’t return.

For the love of Animals

Love this place - a Baker's delight and for the crafty amateur. Their cookies, cupcake, cake-pops are joyfully varied and delicious

Hen Pastry Chef

Super nice place. You have everything for pastry and backing you don't have to go to million stores to get what you need they have everything a lot of stuff I have never seen. Cake Molds, cake decorations, amazing cake stands! The store is pretty also nice to walk around.

Patricia Dial

Friend staff and great prices

Marissa Jenkins

I bought a cake from the cafe and when we cut into it, there were little bugs inside. We thought they were chocolate sprinkles at first, then we saw legs. It was disgusting and we were mortified. The place looks dirty, but I never thought the food was contaminated with vermin. We called the health department but it's NYC and they probably wont do anything about it. So, please beware.

Nicole Scorzelli

I kind of miss the old location just because it was so authentically NYC. But the new, spacious, clean store with bakery IS Beautiful. A little pricey or I'd have given 5stars.

Deborah Alves

This store contains everything you can need for cake decorating and baking.

jorge rivera

Has pretty much what you need, but can be a little bit on the expensive side.

Rebecca Owens

Workers r very helpful n quick someone sent me to pu things for them everything I ask for the sales lady picked it quickly n i was on my way

Vladimir Serebryany

The store has everything you need to make cakes and confectionaries including ingredients and utensils. Good selection of coverture chocolats in 1 lb packs, food coloring and aroma oils.

Talie Diamond

This is easily one of my 5 favorite places in NYC. It's definitely my go-to for baking supplies. Frankly, if they don't have it, you don't need it. The new shop is very polished, which is nice, and I enjoyed getting a free, personal demonstration from a stencil company when I was there last. The only improvement I would make is to allow in-store pickup in Manhattan, not just Yonkers.

dreluv one

Was able to find everything I need. Workers were very helpful

Bob Dole

I found this place because I wanted food coloring gel for macarons and I wish I could have spent more time here. They have anything you would every need for baking and I felt like I needed to buy one of everything. I pictured I'd be buying one assorted pack of gels but they had the kind of color selection you'd find at a arts and crafts store paint section, it was unbelievable (and they did have a variety pack that was perfect for me.) The prices are very fair considering how niche some of the stuff was, and I look forward to going again with my girlfriend, buying one of everyone, and becoming the next Great British Baking Show champion...

Johann Quessada

Love this place. Everything you can dream about if you like pastry!

Tara Brodhead

I was mesmerized when I walked into the store. The layout was amazing. They had so much variety of things, colors, categories. I was visiting from Georgia an we have a Cake store but it doesnt compare to this store. I walked every row, seen things that I would only see online from China. I will be ordering online until I travel to NY again.

Paola Barja

Good prices. Friendly people a lot stuff

gvantsa tsintsadze

My favorite store

Badass Dame

Tons of baking supplies! ! They're a little pricey but well worth it. Small staff but very helpful.

Danielia Donohue

This company won't allow me to use a gift card despite several tries and instructions from their staff. And now they are not answering my complaint from the Better Business Bureau. They have stolen $150 dollars out of my pocket. Worthless. Go to Michael's around the corner or order from Amazon instead of dealing with a company this bad.

Guillermo Santillana

The attitude would be tolerable if the employees had the competency to match. Overpriced, but when you are the only game in a town and known for being costly who can tell. They most likely have what you need though, so suffer through it. If you wish to avoid the poor customer experience make it know you will be spending a bit, you may see slightly better treatment.

pravinkumar sundarapandian

It's a paradise for bakers. Very helpful staff. Good collection.

Luis Rivera

Best place to get items you need quickly and conveniently!!!

Diana Kusunoki

Love love love this place! A couple of friends and I took a cake decorating 101 class with Chef Michelle Doll and had a blast! My cake was absolutely delicious and, to my surprise, turned out quite beautiful. Highly recommend taking classes with friend!

CDL

My daughter decorated a gorgeous cake for my son's birthday. Lisa was a wonderful teacher and everyone in the class of 20 made beautiful creations with her guidance.

Kat DLS

I have had the most amazing customer service ever in here, I went in to get Sesame Street cookie cutters, the sales associate did not only bring me to where they were at, he also showed the candles they had, and tried very hard to look for what I was looking exactly, as soon as I walked in the cashier welcomed me when she saw me. I was Given great service from the cashier to the floor associates all the way up to the owner. Will definitely go back and RECOMMEND IT!!!

Rayne S

Beautiful!

nadia bruce

The reviews are correct, you can find everything you need in here. I stopped going there some years ago, after I passed by when they were closed and saw a cat in the store window (see photo). I am not a fan of having animals so close to food/kitchen items. The service was not consistent, you were mostly on your own figuring stuff out in the store. Some improvements are needed.

Karishma Adnani

They have a no refund and no exchange policy and even if the product you've received is broken, it's apparently "none of their concern". Also, definitely overpriced and the staff is very rude.

Erin Bruer

<3 NY Cake! Make sure you find their new location on 22nd (between 6/7) BECAUSE IT'S BEAUTIFUL!

Kevin Bender

Needed edible glitter. They had like 50 different colors

nes bens

I was very excited to visit the store . The store is open despite some renovation work. I was in a rush to buy what I need , because of that. Even though there is wathever you want for baking , its so expensive ....bought a gum past tool set for $20! Only $5 on amazon...

Sabrina Adaba

This is one of my favorite stores in the world. I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I have to go pick up baking supplies. My baking and decorating skills have increased so much because I know that anything I need to get the job done can be found here with ease. I just wish they stayed open a little later, lol.

Vivienne Van Do

This place is a baker’s paradise. They even have baked goods for you to try. Atmosphere: colorful, happy, at your own pace, a lot of space. It’s attractive with many things to look at and discover. Supplies: they have almost everything you can imagine minus spices. They have premise frosting, batters, pans, sprinkles of all types, cutters of all types, decorations, premise sugar florals. It’s amazing. Staff: so friendly. They’re really helpful if you need anything. They probably get visited with many busy bakers and businesses. If you’re a novice baker, don’t be intimidated by their attention. Desserts: they have some vegan options! As well as normal baked goods. I think what sets their bakery apart from other bakeries is that their bakery is for samples of what you can buy or what they can provide you for your special occasion. They bake foods with traditional methods: cream, oil, flour, sugar. Don’t expect a cake made of sweet potato or brownies made of black beans or psyllium husk or date sugar. I like how clean this place is. When you visit, you can smell the sweetness in the air to inspire or lure you deeper into the store.

Honest Reviews with Stephanie

What's not to love, great atmosphere, awesome friendly people in the academy, and the cafe, amazing pastry case filled with cupcakes, cookies and More ... plus one of the best hot chocolate in NYC! This store has EVERYTHING! I love working here!

Marla T

OVERPRICED and EXTREMELY rude!!! Person I asked for help seemed very annoyed he had to help me and acted like he is doing me a favor..so I went online and bought all I need for much much cheaper. Save your hard earned $$ and buy online. If in rush-There is Michael's across the street with friendlier service and lower prices.

Linda Samuels

This is specifically about the classes. I attend one with a corporate group, as a team building exercise. First off, the kitchen is very dirty. We have done other trips like this, and this was by far the grossest place. One of the owners, Lisa, was having her lunch cooked by one of the Hispanic workers on a griddle in the back, where the class was taking place which was uncomfortable to watch. We made our frosting and stuff, fighting over the singular measuring utensils. Like go to the store part and get another set of measuring cups, how cheap are you? The teacher was disorganized and kept disappearing to wash a bowl or a mixer. It was a circus show.

Heena O

Awesome collection of pastries & desserts. They also have a huge collection of baking supplies, there's baking classes too. Love the interior design!

Tiffany Williams

They have everything I need and it's easy to get to.

S Sherwood

Did a baking class here and it was a great experience. We made sublime breakfast pastries.

M L

Came all the way to the address yesterday and they are remodeling and closed? Should announced closed instead of OPEN cuz you don’t even open! Doesn’t even care costumer’s feeling at all, that’s not nice.

Donna Jones

Great baking supplies, some items can be a little pricey

Rhonda Robinson

I love the new store. Wide open bright with a bakery counter and on site cake decorating classes

Curtis Bell

Great store for all of your cake decorating needs.

Carel VDL

What can I say good prices friendly staff had everything I needed. Will shop again

Fred Alluso

This is the ultimate destination for chefs, home cooks and pastry professionals looking to purchase supplies or ingredients. I've even seen some customers just browsing about looking for ideas and inspirations. This is one of those old reliable businesses that truly knows their stuff.

Tom Pendleton

The new store is beautiful, spacious and stocked with such an amazing array of baking related products. Staff are helpful.

Marjorie Darden

Excellent, Excellent, place for baking supplies!

G

They had what I wanted but pulled a bait-and-switch on pricing at the register - I selected several pans marked with the price $7.99, and when I got to the register they told me the marked price was wrong and that I would be charged $9.99. In addition to being a very bad way to treat customers, I believe this practice is illegal, and I am going to report them to the city.

veranda b

While they have everything you need, they lack customer service skills. Good luck getting assistance if you do not know what you are looking for. Shop online for better pricing. Only go if you are on a time crunch.

Magda Kubis

Very disappointing customer service. Overpriced merchandise.

Avis Craig

Since your move you have seriously gone down hill. You used to be great in the pastry filling section. Although your prices were higher, the bags were bigger and I didn’t mind paying. Since your move I have made 3 trips from Pennsylvania and heard the same 3 stories. The delivery is coming next week. The truck will be coming tomorrow. We have not unloaded yet. Your a great company but you guys need to step it up before you start losing customers

Ray Kirk

I have acquaintance with this shop from before it was at the 22nd street location. They were then located in the back of the husbands drug store giving cake decorating classes. I wish I could disagree with most of the reviews; but they are true. Very nasty attitude; self important and snobbish. if they were not the only store of it's kind in New York city they would quickly be out of business on attitude and service alone. I could tolerate the over inflated prices if they were courteous and customer oriented. but they never were and are still not; never will be is my guess. I am clearly not the only person in the profession of pastry chef and artist who has experienced their repulsive behavior. Their variety is great; but if you want to be treated like a valued customer...go elsewhere. Too bad.

Vicious Woman

I will be so sad if they move without another location.

Robert Ritchie

Amazing full service bakery and culinary supply store - as a professional baker these guys always answer my questions, place my orders and have everything I need.

Shyneque Roper

A bit pricy but i can always find what i need

Jayana Butts

Great cake supplies store! They have practically everything needed for baking and decorating. Definitely need to visit again.

Maayan Aviv

They have everything!

Freddy Villalona

This place has everything you need whether you are a beginner or an expert Baker. The staff are very knowledgeable and will make predictions based on how many people you will be catering for to avoid you over expending. Their products are also good quality.

Wanda Soto

They always friendly and helpful.....

Casey Rhett

Took my son there for a cookie baking class. There were sprinkles in the dough. When I asked if it was "funfetti" style, the worker said they reuse the dough from other classes. ***The sprinkles were from other previous classes students, then they saved the used dough, and gave it to us to use.*** Absolutely disgusting.

Roy M

Great selection overall! For someone visiting from canada it was amazing as some products were half the price!

Jen Fraenkel

Excellent cake and baking supply store. They have everything you could need and it's fairly priced. My only minor gripe is the absolutely no returns or exchanges whatsoever policy. Even if it's 48 hours, let us exchange totally unused items! So many times I would have bought an extra sealed tub of fondant but I don't want a whole extra tub laying around so I have to risk running a little short on it.

Lisa

BAKING HEAVEN! They have anything you might need for you baking and decorating adventures. Chocolate, molds, boxes, string, sprinkles, cake pop sticks, edible glitter. It's such a fun store to roam through. I just wish the prices were a little better.

Mr XP

Newly opened store location with big display space and fresh pastry, but with room for improvement. Friendly staff at the front cafe. Visited the first week after the opening. $1.75 single espresso is pretty decent and a true delight, while $2.75 small coffee is very awful with strong acidity and bitterness but without any aroma. $5.95 flourless chocolate truffle cake is pretty rich, but the chocolate aroma seems to be overpowered by too much sugar. $3.45 pain au chocolat remains with icy cold chocolate chunks without much aroma except sweetness, but the bread does have expected good buttery taste and good texture. Very surprised to see fruit files crawling over the pastries on display and also flying around the seating area. Visited again three weeks after the opening. Surprised to see the prices for coffee have gone up for $3 for a small coffee. Sweet pastries remained their specialty. Fidn't like my saggy spinach and cheese pastry which lacks both flavor and texture. Friendly service staff seemed to still be inexperienced to deliver consistent service quality. The sitting area was messy and did not look inviting. My order warm pastry was served on a sheet of paper instead of a plate for stay-in eating. Its single espresso only had a half of water from what it should be served this time while the price increased from my last visit. More freshly baked pastries were added, but without visible price information on display. Visited again in March 2019 and bought whole bunch of cookies which were placed 8n a regular paper bag instead of a wax paper bag. BY the time I got home, the butter from cookies soaked through the thin paper bag. Wish this place could pick up its quality to be on par with its pricing positioning soon.

Michael Gabriel

Great place to shop for all your cake , cookie and dessert decorations and tools . Love the new location, more space , easy to find what you need and also alot more accessable to get your own supplies with looking for help . I have been. eva blum

Pro baking supplies for the everday cook to the chef. Chocolate ,cocoapowder ,nonstick soray ,fondant pand ,cellophane bags ,cupcake, cake baking supplies. My favorite are the sugar flowers and the christmas baking and boxes, huge assortment of items.

Melinda Robertson

I like it here always quality food & service.

Mary Hozlock

Best cake supply in Northeast. Visit often for unique molds and supplies.

David M. Lite-Ingunza

Good selection of high quality baking products - but not much help on hand if you need it. Have bought some excellent molds there that have lasted me for years!

Kels H. Murdoch

Amazing array of baking, decorating, and candy making needs, but AWFUL customer service. Don't go unless you know exactly what you need and are willing to look for it yourself, because asking for help is pretty much pointless. Still, a wonderland of pans and tools.

Alice Chu

Update 10/20/18: So after Jenny, one of the co-owners of NY Cake contacted me about my negative review, I shared with her my concerns stated in the review I previously wrote. She said that she was thankful for the constructive criticism I gave and have spoken to staff and is trying to improve the quality of the atmosphere. She again reached out to me last week (which was about a month or two after we initially exchanged emails) to share that they were having their grand opening this Thursday to Sunday with free give aways and 10% off. I decided to check it out and upon walking in you see a skyline of NYC make with bake ware and there is a bakery!! The area, which I assume is the classroom area (behind the bakery) is pretty nice and actually similar to the kitchens I learned in at Institute of Culinary Ed. It's much bigger and brighter at this new location, definitely not dusty like the old location. I do have to say that upon walking in and seeing the bakery, the worker did greet me and Jenny was actually the first person to ask if I needed help. It's actually nice to see the owner walking around checking out whats in stock and talking to customers. There are things here that I don't see at Kereke's or other bake shops, so I will most likely be back, now that I have actually seen and experienced that the owners do care about their business and what customers think. There is also a calendar of kids classes, which is really pretty cool and Michelle who I believe is the director of the bakery was really nice too and told me they were hiring...its a bit tempting, but I don't think I really have the time. I am leaving this review at 4 stars at the moment, because this is a new beginning, I didn't have much interactions with the actual associates and I want to go back at a later time to see if their customer service improves over time. It is definitely a big leap from 1 star to 4 stars, so I hope that I can edit this review at a later time to give them 5 stars. I am a home baker who went to a professional baking school and externed for a popular bakery by the name of a famous Chef. I know the pastry chef would always go to NY Cake and Co to purchase items he needed, so I assumed this would be a very good place to shop for my baking needs...not the case...I will share 3 instances in which I was not satisfied with the staff and owner... 1. I took a class there for cake decorating and the room was really tiny and there was an outburst by a customer who was trying to return and item, which the company would not take back because they said it was used....maybe it was, but there must be something really wrong for the customer to be so dissatisfied that you could hear her in the whole store and probably down the block. 2. I was with a friend who was purchasing A LOT! I wasn't feeling so well, I asked if I could use the bathroom, the worker told me there was no bathroom and when I told him I have taken a class there before and knew there was a bathroom, he still did not allow me to use it. As a paying customer (which I have purchased items before), you should just let me use it when I've caught you in your lie...which from the reviews, is obvious they do do that. 3. The last time I went to purchase items I could not find elsewhere, there was a lady who asked for an item and the worker did not know the difference between the shape of a board or a box that she needed. She went to the register and complained that the worker did not know the difference between her asking for something that is a square or a circle and suggested that he should no longer work there if he can't do something as simple as that. After she left I over heard the cashier saying that if Lisa, the owner heard about any of that, she would be furious. I agree with the customer and wanted to make a complaint, but I ended up not doing so. Some time later, I went back with my friend and the guy was still working there, barely doing anything.

Cruz Herrera

I apologize for my first review.my experience at the store was good we have everything we was looking for.

Yudi Jimenez

It is an experience that all baker must get. So complete and big. They have so variety of products. Also they sell pastry food.

Arlene Perry

Hard to shop cause everything is so close together, the lighting is bad and some of the help isn't very helpful. Better prices at Michael's and online

KeviKev

I love this store. I find everything I need

Taireina Gilbert

I come here on a regular basis. They almost always have what I need and I don't expect the staff to be overly friendly so I'm not bothered by the lack of cheer. The selection of pans, molds, and packaging supplies is what matters for me, so normally I'm great!!! That being said, I had to buy pre-made fondant for the first time and 2/3 of all the fondant I purchased was brick hard! The containers looked fine when I purchased them but when I got home some of them had the tab opened slightly and others had nearly invisible cracks on the bottom... it was like trying to roll out cement. (I fixed them but it cost me hours I was trying to save by purchasing in the first place) So... If you're going for fondant or gum paste check the containers thoroughly! If you're going for basic pans and molds, know what you need and have fun. If you're going to browse, have a budget cause you're definitely going to spend. If you're going for great customer service, smiles, and comfort... try Michael's.

Making it Easy

So glad they changed owners. I love this place , I can literally find anything I need when making a cake order. The new owner is really nice and patient. Really hope their business succeeds and that it thrives. Hope everyone else gives this place another chance. I suggest this place to all of my baking friends.

Louis Tentindo

Great source for baking and pastry equipment and items.

Mark Ayzenberg

I had similar experience as one of the people who left a comment earlier today. I truly think the reps lack customer service skills. I had someone from the staff follow me around the store as I was shopping for cake supplies. I felt my personal space violated.

Grace Hwang

It's a Disneyland for baking lovers♥

Anna Kassymova

I was just passing by and I long as I love baking so much entered this place) locely choice of everything you can imaging for baking at home as well as professional one! Cannot tell you anything about the price as don’t know market prices for these things, but culinary masterclasses are expensive enough, starting from 75$ (for kids) but around 200$ mostly

June Frances Coleman

Great spot for quick supply purchases. Conveniently located.

Ruth Rojas

I love this place

Elissa Diniz

Do you know how annoying and upsetting is to walk into a store and have someone from the staff following you around as if you are about to still something? So, today I was visiting this store with my mom, who works as a cake designer in Brazil and my baby (who was in a baby carrier), looking for different materials for her to bring home when I noticed a man in black following us around. First I thought it could be another shopper, but then I realized he was just there starring at us. It was clear for me that the staff was treating us as shoplifters! >( There's no excuse to treat customers like that because of backpack (that happened to be a diaper bag) or a baby in a carrier. This is awful! We left right away, as we refuse to spend our money in stores like that. They are never getting a second chance with us!

Itzaira Cambrelen

Its my favorite store to go to when I need anything small of a detail they have it. I just wish there was a bit more room to walk around. Overall I love buying my supplies there. I don't know how I found this store on my own but glad I did.

Stephen Kent Jusick

Lots of supplies and decorations. Check out was slow because customers were needy and perhaps inefficient clerks. But Iike the selection here.

Edgard Gallardo

I wasn't a fan of the service but the past few times I've been to the store I noticed they've stepped up their customer service. The other brother has basically taken over and he's been a pleasure to deal with. I have noticed his influence in the whole staff. Give it another try and you'll be impressed!

Elena Soroka

The selection of baking equipment for Instagram friendly and gorgeous cakes is amazing. The prices are okay, this stuff costs money, but is worth it, if you need a gorgeous DIY cake.

Fischer Troy

great shop for all baking needs

Jennifer Shares

Always has everything and exactly what I need! Fair prices and I can't wait to take one of their classes!

danielle falcon

the new space is so bright, beautiful and organized! Excited to shop here

B Begley

They have a great selection. And were extremely helpful. I can't wait to go back and get more baking supplies!

Jane Lu

Update: They reopened in a new location. The store overall has a warmer, more open feel. The service on my recent visit was friendly. The front part of the store is mostly cake decorating and a cafe. Still a great place to go for all kinds of baking supplies. —— Great for baking supplies you can’t commonly find such as couverture and egg white powder. (They also have a large selection of sprinkles and dragees.) Service is curt but helpful based on my experiences.

Janis S

Excellent cake supply shop, with wide variety of supplies including fondant, sprinkles, chocolate, etc. Lots of cake & chocolate tools - molds, pans, stencils, cookie cutters, cake boards & boxes, etc. Also has a cafe to buy treats from the bakery. Classes are held on location in a bright open area where other customers can watch the fun. Very clean and well-stocked shop.

Ashish S

Appreciate the response ---- I always get the worst service experience here. This is the 2nd straight time I have had this repulsive behavior. Hiding behind the counter, I ask for specific tips and, first, they rudely rush the hell out of you even if you have been waiting, then give you a huge attitude arguing with you when you tell them not all the brands are the same even if the tip # is the same. Why argue with a customer who is experienced.. and especially if they have no professional experience? Do not misguide your customers. All I am asking for is a specific brand, it does not even matter if it's all the same. Worst behavior and huge attitude looking away with an attitude even when I am speaking as a customer. Get training.

Zoolander D.

I've been shopping there for almost 10 years. For baking and candy making needs, this store has everything you could possibly want including something you DON'T want . . . extremely bad, nasty attitudes! I recently called to find out if they had a specific item in stock. The person I spoke with immediately answered "yes" - didn't bother looking . . . just said "yes" and hung up. A few hours later when I was at the store, what I was looking for wasn't there. I spoke to a salesperson who told me "You should've called". I said that I did . . . I was told "No you didn't. If you did call, you'd know we're out of stock." I left, waited a bit then called from my cell phone asking for a similar item. This time I was told "We don't have time to look, come in and look for it yourself." Luckily, I found a place close to home where I can get my candy making needs and that's where I go.

Excellent selection. Terrible help. The store was pretty full, and no sales associates would help anyone. The woman behind the counter when checking out was incredibly rude, and unhelpful.

Maryanne Baker

Edible glitter... awww yeah. Cant wait to go back, everyone was wonderful and helpful and there was everything I could possibly need for my baking needs! It was tempting to buy the whole store!

It's true that their service is brusque at best, abysmal at worst. I mean, customer service is really not a thing here. But they do have the best stock for cake baking. Literally anything you might need to bake a cake is here. I have never gone in with a list and come out empty handed, they always have what I need. Getting help with finding what you need is a different story but if you know what you're looking for make sure you allot some time to wander the aisles. For those who don't, you might be better off asking a fellow customer! XD.

Great new location. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Still the go to place for any kind of baking or candy making project.

Denise Garrido

Ok place to get things if you need them quickly and can't wait. Its expensive, definitely. Staff is not particularly friendly, but it's alright. You can get online everything they have there for half their price but have to do you search and then wait for delivery. Too bad we don't have another place like that to compete with them. Store is packed with things, not a lot of space. It always feel overcrowded. Take your time to look around. One piece of advise. If you're looking for something and you call to ask, beware of the quick "yes we have it" answer without putting you on hold and checking. I was a victim of that myself with Lisa Mansour. I called to ask for a specific Ateco large tip I needed and she answered the phone. I said I was calling about a Ateco tip, and before I said what #, she said "we have it ." I said, "I haven't told you what tip it is yet," and she said, "doesn't matter, we have them all." I said, "but can you check at least? I have to travel to your store, and I will take a taxi, during my lunch break and don't want to waste the trip or time," to which she replied, "we carry all Ateco tips," so you can imagine what happen when I got there. Not only they don't have THAT tip I needed, but they DON'T carry them all. You would think, an educated and known pastry chef would not do something so stupid. It would have taken her 3 mins to have anyone check. Didn't need to be herself. So just make sure it doesn't happen to you.

Love the spaciousness of the new store (do miss the character, tight aisles, and general surliness of the original shop).

Ken Liu

Nice staff, people work here are very friendly, enjoyed my visit.

If you are looking for the hard to find baking needs. This is the right place.

Raquel Casales

Nice place.

J. Romeo Aldana

Great selection of baking products. They have a website you can browse and get product numbers. You can call ahead and confirm whether they have something or not before making the trip.

Big and a bakers dream place to be!!!! Was my original review but I have to change it because just now when I was shopping I noticed someone following me all through the store. How can a baker get what the need when being followed, all the way up until purchase. This is the man that was I’m assuming racially profiling me all through the store. It made me very uncomfortable and I will no longer purchase from here.
