REVIEWS OF Mille-feuille Bakery Cafe IN New York

Emma Millan

The chocolate croissant was the best one I've ever had. Then I had a morning bun INCREDIBLE.. often a line but worth every minute to wait for this perfect pastry. Small area upstairs to eat but most ppl use take away. I would be fine eating this sitting on the curb it's that good.

flora sussekind

great coffee + great croissants

Chu W.

Nice atmosphere cannot substitute authentic taste and food quality.

Camilo Virguez

Only thing missing is a mille-feuille with arequipe (dulce de leche)

Matías Grichener

Nice little bakery. Good coffe and french style pastry.

Shirley Yue

Coffee was ok. Better than chain coffee. For a French place specializing in pastries, the crossiants were underwhelming. I'd say I have had better grocery store crossiants.

swendy ariyanayagam

I was just in there to buy my favorite chocolate almond croissant which is one of my favorite! I paid for it and stepped aside to put my wallet away. When I wen back to the counter my takeout bag was gone. Instead of trying to help me to figure out if another customer took my bag the cashier gave me a crazy look and didn’t bother to do anything! Disappointing since I love this place! I’ll never go back because if you don’t care about me as a customer, guess what I don’t care either... will take my business else where!

Marc Hollett

Awesome spot that I just stumbled upon while staying in the upper west side. Great pastries (my wife said it was the best almond/chocolate croissant she ever had) and the staff were friendly and courteous.

Mehak Akhter

This place is amazing! I ordered the chocolate almond croissant and my husband had the quiche of the day, which were both absolutely delicious. The place is small, but cute, and my mocha was amazing. I can't wait to come here again!

Ryan Meuth

Nutella brioche and chocolate French donut!

Staff were very helpful, honest and friendly. I was on my way to another bakery nearby and I passed by Mille-Feuille just to check it out. Didn't plan on buying anything. The person who worked there was welcoming but not pushy, she gave me suggestions and I decided to try "Royal", it turned out to be really good. High quality chocolate and hazelnuts. Not too sweet. Would come back to try others.

Forget Starbucks & Dunkin’ Donuts Fresh coffee fresh pastries & a killer chocolate croissant which name I cannot properly pronounce sometimes the best kept secrets are slightly off the beaten path

Their doughnut is good but too expensive ($5)....

Great place to shop for lunch or a cup of coffee.

Almond croissant! The buttery and flaky layered croissant with creamy and aromatic almond filling simply brings you the satisfaction. Roasted almond slices on the top also add the extra flavor and texture. Well done!

So M

Ordered mille feuille and a mixed berry tart. Tart crust was hard. Mille Feuille was burnt and had a bitter taste. Very disapointed! I heard such great reviews and was really disappointed when i got there.

Michael Lottner

delicious and unpretentious

Cristina Herrera

Cute little place good coffee and good food!

Ihor Strutynsky

The Cappuccino cup was huge but the Cappuccino itself was watered down. Probably better to use a smaller cup, adjust the machine to use less water and ultimately serve a truly flavorful cup of Cappuccino. The macaroons are OK but there are other NYC establishments which specialize in macaroons and allow one to truly experience a traditional macaroon. I did not try the rest of their baked goods.

Alex Hemsley

Nice pastries and great staff. Coffee was ok.

Yossi L

Such a great French place

Lucy Lu

I have heard this place was famous for its french styled bakery, particularly macroons. I have picked a box of 6 with each different flavors. Tasted okay, I had better before in Europe with another franchises named Paul's. Nothing really special, wasn't a pleasent bakery trip, probability won't go there twice

Lee Lee

What a delightful array of authentic French pastries - we love this place!

Rob Ombres

Delicious treats and coffee. Friendly and patient staff.

Ian Tyack

Delicious, delicately flavored cakes and other wonderful items to eat. The passion fruit slice is not to be missed!

Croissant was dry

Stephanie Fins

Totally incompetent! I ordered a quiche on Sunday to be ready for pick up by 12 today. Not only did they not make the type I ordered, but they waited until after 1:30 to tell me they didn't have it. Then they tried to pass off a cut quiche of another type which I had specifically said on my order that I did not want. I did manage to get a refund, but that still means I have to scramble to find another quiche to bring to a gathering. I would never recommend ordering from them!

Mabel Wong

Coming from Montreal, I was skeptical of New York based french cafés, but this croissant was everything that embodied the croissants I look for!

Jeanne Hainz

Excellent bakery/patisserie. Amazing brownies, quiches and Royale pastry (gluten free).

Just had the worse experience ever. Literally just came out of the bakery. Bad attitude and no customer service skills from this short overweight lady who was just nasty. Not up to the standards of the french. Wont be going back.oh and i couldnt even get a receipt because she said the printer wasnt working. She seemed very annoyed that i i sisted to have a receipt. Seriously if u dont like your job dont do it

Christie Ray Harrison

Tiny little place with just a handful of 2 person tables, but beautiful selection of French pastries and macarons, and delicious quiches that are perfect for a late breakfast/lunch. Good place for a light bite and coffee or tea, and a decent spot to sit for a minute and catch up or read if you go at a less busy time.

Talya Barrett

Best latte and cappuccino on the Upper West Side. I love, Love their chocolate almond croissants!!!!! Super great place to bring someone who is new to the city ☺️

Delicious! Best au lait I've had in a while. Note: Only five tables and ten seats available total. Not good for groups or strollers planning to stay due to narrow shape of the cafe, but there's no reason you can't grab and go. Sometimes a croissant tastes better under the open sky anyway.

Benjamin Morris

Food and coffee were great!

Brilliante!

Small, but excellent bakery on the upper west side that serves artistically made French style pastries, macaroons and other delicacies. I had breakfast here and our selections were wonderful. I had a quiche Lorraine and my wife had a chocolate croissant. We both absolutely loved our selections. The coffee was also very good and the service was very pleasant. The décor is also very attractive. One thumb up (I’m using the other one to type)!

Andres D.

What a pleasure! The sweets here were just as in France! Not too sweet! Perfect combination of flavors! Update: the first cake was so good, that I decided to stay there longer and get a quiche and another cake! Oh my!!! Soo goood

Came here with my sister and got the ispahan (A macaroon filled with raspberries and lychee), The vanilla passion puff, and the salted Caramel chocolate tart. I wasn’t crazy about the ispahan—Even though it looked really pretty it was too sweet and the flavors didn’t make too much sense combined together. The vanilla passion puff was excellent, it had very delicate and settle flavors. That being said my sister didn’t like it too much because she tried it after the chocolate tart which was very rich. Although the staff was friendly, I felt like they weren’t very attentive. Another small complaint is that they served us with wet silverware from the dishwasher that hadn’t been dried off yet

Good service, had a nice chicken sandwhich on a pleasantly warm fresh brioche. Would recommend you give it a try!

Coffee and tea were excellent quality. Croissants were yummy. If you enjoy your snacks there, you are served with China and glassware. We had a very pleasant visit

Small town code in the middle of the city. Really great service and delicious coffees. Only complaint is that it's a little cramped, but it is Manhattan.

Alex Brito

The schedule says close at 8pm, i arrive at 736pm and they are “closed”. When i pulled the door it was chained, the girl inside said they were closed.

Zeynep Gambetti

Delicious croissants, good coffee (strong enough to appeal to the French palate), and very friendly, Francophone staff.

David M H

They are closed for renovations. Now just a small hole in the wall in the hotel BelleClaire, with only limited selection.

Delicious croissants. But the cafe should get rid of plastic cups and straws. It would enhance a more true French feel of the place.

Great food and friendly workers! Got a ham and cheese croissant and it was delicious. There’s a few tables around the counter where you can sit and eat, but it fills up pretty quickly. Going during off hours is best to avoid lines and get a seat downstairs. Definitely recommend stopping by here for a quick snack!

This is a quaint bakery specializing in French pastries and desserts. My favorite items are the praline mille feuille and the ispahan cake (rose macaron with fresh raspberries and lychee). Their cakes are small for about 4 people which is nice since most bakeries make cakes that are large for about 6-8 people. Their macarons are decent, wouldn't say they're amazing. I usually just stick with their pastries and cakes.

Andrew Harrington

Great vibes all around.

Magnolia Bakery started in the West Village twenty years ago and after repeatedly being featured on television and in feature films has several branches around NYC and elsewhere. In GCT they took over the food court location formally occupied by Little Pie Company (which over the years grew to have multiple locations, but has since contracted). Magnolia is known for their cupcakes and iced layer cakes, sold whole, but more often by the slice. There is often a line of customers waiting; however, the slices we've tried although satisfactory overall have at times been a bit dry for our tastes.

Inna Z

I used to come here for iced matcha latte last summer and it was great. Last weekend it was warm enough to try iced matcha so I visit the cafe and immediately noticed the place was different. I realized after I ordered that they changed ownership. My latte was bad. They charge extra for almond milk but they only put a drop in. It tasted like just matcha and water. I would not go back.

Nicolas Patt

Double shot cappuccino had some cute latte art and tasted divine on a cold wet day. Croissants were delish but the macarons were incredible! Wish the weather would have been nice enough to sit outside.

Kieran Downs

Best desserts I've had while I've been here. It melts in your mouth and the staff are just as sweet. See something that looks like a brownie with caramel on top? Get it.

Amir Tahmasebi

Very disappointed. I went to this place 4 years ago and I was amazed with the quality of Croissants and Mille Feuille. I am back in NYC and I walked 3 miles and decided to try it again. Very disappointed. $6.9 for a Mille Feuille that tasted old and nothing special and $3.75 for a chocolate croissant that is worse than Starbucks! Not coming back here again!

Sharon Anstey

Great coffee and superb patisserie

Stella Bompotsiari

We stayed in the area for 6 days and it was my favourite coffee spot every morning. Good coffee and you need to try chausson aux pommes.

Julissa Morant

Amazing macaroons, great and fast service. I walked for an hour to get here, it was worth it!

Annia Hsu

We got a Mille-feuille ($4.5) - it was the last one, we were lucky - and a chocolate croissant / brewed coffee set ($5.5). Mille feuille was good but not the best I've had. The cream was very tasty with vanilla bean and the pastry was crispy enough but also a bit hard. I have very high standards for mille feuille so I may be a bit more critical but it was enough to satisfy my craving. Croissant was great! Place is very clean and service was good.

Omg the Pastry is out of this world the Donuts Devine a little expensive but with it.

Espresso drink was quick and nice. Service is friendly and unassuming. Restroom available for customers.

Joana Dermendjieva

This is a great little cafe with decent croissants and sweet people behind the counter, but since they struck a deal with the hotel next door, it has been a complete nightmare involving hoards of noisy confused tourists. Will be looking for another local cafe, sadly.

Tara Zieminek

It was ok, but nothing to write home about.

Jen Fraenkel

I have walked by this place countless times but I only went in today because my friends gifted me a CUPSapp credit and I'm so grateful to have discovered it. First of all, La Colombe coffee is phenomenal and they know how to prepare it here. The cafe is adorable. I grew up in Paris and I know what a cute coffee and pastry shop is all about and this place is cute as a button. Not pretentious and fancy like a laduree but lovely and homey and a wee bit hipster. Overall, awesome. The very kind Barista who made my coffee also explain the CUPS app to me and make it all super easy. Will absolutely be back!!

Theodore Strauss

Best croissants on the UWS! Their staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful.

Nice soy cappuccino and delicious chocolate croissants.

Lemme tell you, the last time I visited Manhattan I didn't have the greatest customer service experiences. Today I was on the hunt for some green tea while staying nearby with relatives. Not only does this place have a variety of tea options, their baked goods looked so yummy I had to try. First bite and I'm a very happy camper. The service is the reason I'm giving it five stars. If I could give ten stars for service I would. It's always lovely as a tourist when you're not made to feel like one.

An excellent little cafe. Theif Galette des Rois is exceptional. We tasted 10 different galettes From the best known places in NYC and Mille feuille's came on top. A great address!

Everything is fresh, everything is exquisite and Staff are the best! The closest thing to a real french boulangerie in the city! At first I would come there just for a coffee and a fresh croissant but then I discovered their Quiche of the Week and now I'm more hooked than ever. Go there get some food, pick up some sweets for your mother and live happy.

Good coffee and great pastries & snacks, with a local neighborhood feel and friendly service. One of my favorite neighborhood spots.

My fiancé surprised me with macaroons and the Ispahan for my birthday - macaroons were lovely, the raspberry was my favourite (light and chewy with a nice fresh flavour) but the vanilla macaroons were filled with a more solid, waxy filling which was a bit much for me. Pistachio and salted caramel were amazing. the Ispahan had mouldy raspberries in it, (4 out of the 6 in there were mouldy or damaged) which was a shame so threw this away.

Teensy-weensy. Good coffee. After you get it, take it into the back of the hotel lobby (they're attached) where it's spacious and the seating is comfortable.

Only tried the macarons, but they were dry and too hard, they didn't seem to be super fresh

Move over Thai ice rolls, there's a new kid on the block! Flushing's stepping up its dessert game with the addition of Ice & Pan - tayaki fish stuffed with red bean, custard, matcha, or taro and served with matcha, Hokkaido milk, black sesame, or chocolate soft serve of your choice, AND a free topping. If you're indecisive or have no idea which soft serve you'd like, fear not because they do let you sample! (Yes, it's rare, but I guess people in Flushing can be nice too.) After sampling the matcha and black sesame soft serve, I was still torn between what to order because they both were so good. I did go with the matcha because it's matcha, along with the red bean stuffing, and topped it with mochi. I LOVE how they make each tayaki fresh on the spot - it's such a pleasure to watch, especially when they can easily pre make these and just top it with soft serve whenever someone orders. Yes, I know other Yelpers have complained about the wait, but if you come during non peak hours, you'll just be waiting 5-10 minutes for your order. Totally worth waiting for because who wouldn't want a fresh tayaki?! It makes a HUGE difference because after devouring my soft serve, I was finally able to pick up the tayaki for my first bite. Be careful when you take your first bite because the tayaki is still piping hot, the red bean bursts out. Soft, gooey, pure deliciousness! Not only is this dessert good, it's very photographable as the mochi is rainbow and it also came with a free pocky stick! I'm already planning to return this weekend LOL!

Robert Moore

The almond croissant and the coffee was amazing. I wish I knew about this place much sooner.

Lapin and I came passed by this small patisserie and decided to pop in. He wanted a coffee and I wanted macarons, well originally I didn’t want anything but once my eyes saw the brightly colored treats my heart was sold. The cashier who helped us was nice and attentive. He helped me pick a dozen macarons I wanted along with providing instructions on how to best store them in the fridge and to eat them (joke is on him, I ate 60% of the dozen before leaving the shop). The macarons were super delicious and I can’t wait to go back and order another dozen or two (you know, for hard times) Lapin’s coffee was delicious and fairly priced for the quality and quantity. The only downside was when we went on a Friday afternoon the place was crowded and I felt like had to elbow our way to order because some people just stayed there and loitered. We were unable to utilize any of the seats to eat our treats and drink coffee.

Small bakery-coffee shop on the side of hotel with the wide range of pastries, savory quiches and sandwiches. Very steady taste, very good croissants, not excepcional or excellent. Worth to stop by if you live near by, but travel here would be waste of time.

This place is so cute and charming. I had a mocha and mille fuelle, giving me all the energy needed to bustle through Central Park like an awful tourist. I hope to come back!

Really disappointed that there was a secret upcharge for oat milk with my coffee. The flavor wasn’t very good and I had really high hopes for this cute spot. The two employees were very friendly though.

Good French bakery on the Upper West Side. Staff are friendly. It's not a big place, but a much better choice than some chain coffee shop.

Sarah Pinnix

Amazing little French bakery! Lots of variety of macarons, tortes, tarts, and bread. Great coffee. And the people are so nice too!

Riley Kwon

Don't want to give even just one star because of their poor service. I was in good mood before and now I wondered why I stopped by here to make my mood so bad. Hope you get as many customers just like you as much you can.

Gravesn Charlesr

Black sesame latte is amazing, tastes exactly like the HK sesame soup dessert. Already one of my favorite lattes of all time! And I don't usually get flavored lattes.

Sasha Gonzalez

I am a local customer who will not be returning because of the poor service. There is a tall, skinny guy with long hair who seems to be in a bad mood all the time. I recommend that you walk a few more steps to Maison Kaiser for coffee and pastries if you don't want to deal with negativity.
