Yummy carrot cheesecake slice from @marthascountrybakery This cheesecake combined the best of carrot cake and silky cheesecake. I paired it with a pot of lemon ginger tea with honey. A soothing dessert for a fun weekday adventure.

There are dozens of varieties to choose from that you will loose time when trying to decide on what to try first! The pastries (that I had experienced) are baked to perfection. Each layer or crumble is textbook and so perfect that you know you have found that you've been eating sub-par patisseries your entire life. Do not miss this opportunity, treat yourself to something you won't regret.

I woke up Christmas Day ready to go to my favorite bakery to get desert for Christmas and I was bamboozled! I asked for a apple crisp pie and they gave me cherry. Yuck! I really look forward to your pumpkin pies and the one I got tasted like someone switched the sugar with the salt. The pecan pie was just pecans and crust. So disappointed and I wasted $100. Thanks for ruining Christmas. Next year I’ll be better prepared and go to butter fields.

First off the display cabinet looked amazing - we had the apple crumble cheesecake and tiramisu. Unfortunately the texture of the cheesecake was very hard, and we found it difficult to eat. The texture of the tiramisu was fine, just that the coffee and alcohol taste was very overpowering for us. Maybe we picked the bad things off the menu. The service was also very slow. It was $14 for those two pieces so it was pretty expensive.

Martha’s is very popular bakery in Astoria. It’s a great place to hang out and have dessert. It’s a fun place to be on Friday and Saturday night. I am not a big fun of their desserts because it’s too sweet for me! However their hot chocolate is amazing! It’s worth trying:)

Great bakery, I buy all special occasion desserts from Martha's. They have great options, they also offer different coffee options. You can sit and enjoy some delicious dessert or take out. If you want something special ordered usually I would be safe and order atleast 1 week ahead.

This used to be one of our most go to place for cakes on every occasion. On our last two visits we were really disappointed. First we bought their strawberry cake and later we got the triple layer chocolate cake. Both of the time all the fruits on cake were rotten and even had molds and fungi. My kid love their strawberry cake, but after getting all the stuffs with mold and fungi I will never risk my family's health in danger.

As soon as I walked through the door, I was amazed at the selection of cakes, cookies, icecream and treats to choose from. I was overwhelmed at first, but then became so excited! There is quite a bit of seating--enough tables for two and larger tables also. The showcase is well-lit. I ordered in, having a slice of Apple Crumb cheesecake, while my friend order a Banana-Nutella milkshake (made with almond milk for an extra 50 cents. I will surely be back here! It's like a little dessert heaven.

Personally I love Martha's bakery. Every morsel in this place is delicious. It's is truly one of my favorite places. The decor is adorable but My only issue is with the seating. I understand they want to seat as many people as possible but it's so tight that your forced to over hear the people next to you because they are practically sitting on your lap. More consideration to dining experience should have been given. Otherwise, just order to go.

Excellent cakes and treats, and good for birthday cake orders or traditional things like cherry pie. They have a sit-down cafe serving decent coffee too. The gluten-free chocolate fudge cake and gluten-free carrot cake is a must for any celiac craving a slide of something sweet. They do a nice job at serving seasonal specialties - Halloween or Christmas cupcakes, Super Bowl treats, you name it they’ve got it. Open til late, it works nicely as a date spot for couples not in the mood for drinkin’.

Absolutely love this place! All the mousse cake are delicious. Those are my favorite. They have a great dessert selection. The staff is great too. I frequent this place a lot and have noticed the managers Nick and Martin are very organized and care to give quality service. They can get very busy at times so plan accordingly to get the check if you’re in a rush if you dine in. They have good music and great atmosphere. During the weekend they have a DJ and he is very good plays great music makes the time there very enjoyable. All the staff is very kind and attentive. Starting with the hostess Stefani and Sofi, they have given me great suggestions to try new cakes. Also the waitresses that I have interacted Mariana, Marisol, and Manuela and the baristas Luis and the other guys have great attitudes and are very attentive. Their coffee is very good too. I’m sad I didn’t know about this place earlier! Definitely a must try or for a date

I like this location the most and usual have very good experiences with the staff but I went in a few days ago and the staff wasn’t very helpful or knowledgeable about some of the products when I was trying to order a cake to go. Otherwise it’s a nice spacious location and everything looks so fresh.

I had the most delicious Napoleon. As soon as my friends and I walked in, two waiters were near the coffee station talking and not paying attention that we wanted to eat in. After we took our order no one asked us that if we will eat in. Until after everything was packaged in assuming that we won't eat in. We explained that we are eating in. Afterwards the inattentive waiter wanted to serve us. I didn't want to tip but my friend insisted that I play nice.

Martha’s definitely has really great cakes and drinks! I’m absolutely obsessed with their pumpkin pie during the fall season! I think everyone should visit and try Martha’s cakes at least a couple times. The only issue is they never change up their menu and always have the same cakes. The flavors get boring after trying them a few times. Also the service could be a little better, it’s always super crowded and loud. And they always seem to take forever to take my order. Other than that the portions are pretty big and decently priced.

It's the perfect place to go for dessert after dinner. Pair the dessert with your choice of coffee or beverage. And you're good to go. If you plan to sit in, you might have to wait a little while. The smaller your party is, the shorter the wait. We had to wait around 20mins. This place was packed! You have a lot of options to choose from. From slices of cakes, cheesecakes, other pastries like eclairs, canolis, cookies, and even gelatos. We ordered the oreo cheesecake and the chocolate lava cake, which takes a while to heat up, but is worth it.

Very good cake. The warm chocolate cake with ice cream on the menu is actually a chocolate lava cake, pictured, which if advertised as such would probably sell even more. Highly recommended if you're in the area. Grab a coffee and a dessert.

Some of the most incredibly delicious cheesecake I’ve ever had in my life. I liked it so much that when I left New York I attempted to make it on my own. The one I’m referring to is the key lime bar, it was excellent at home but this place made it wayyy better. It’s sweet and slightly tart, creamy but firm, and just incredible. I ordered through Uber eats and it was like 10 pm ( one of the reasons I love ny). If you are thinking about doing it, just do it and treat yourself. The price is phenomenal too. Sometimes you can even find a coupon code online as well I found one for seven bucks off since it was my first order. I’m referring to a coupon for Uber by the way. The raspberry was wonderful too but the key lime was just so unique! This place knows what they are doing and they package items very well.

Hit or miss. The great thing about Martha’s is the pastries and coffee beverages. They are delicious per usual especially the Greek frappe and blueberry turnover. Make sure you come in the morning as they do run out by mid afternoon. The miss ??? Some of the Martha’s staff is as horrible as can get. How can you have a staff that doesn’t know which items contain nuts ? You would think nut allergies are important, no ? I asked one of the girls if any of the chocolate slices contained peanuts and she asked her coworkers which they replied all responded with “I don’t know”. Her response to me “I don’t think so”. I think maybe you should ask a manager next time?? Secondly, I wanted to know if this location carried German chocolate cake as it is my friend’s favorite from the Forest Hill’s location. She looked at me like I was crazy and rudely explained that they don’t carry it. Thank you to the girl who overheard the conversation and let me know that they would be able to make one for me, but it would have to be ordered in advanced. Stop by at Martha’s if you have a sweet tooth and want to indulge yourself because the baked goods are definitely worth it. I will continue sticking to my usual staff as the evening staff seemed to be a little miseducated.

Love Martha's bakery. All the cakes are delicious. Everything i plan to get a slice to go, but end of bought 3 pieces instead. Their berry Napolean pie is the best. But make sure you eat it as soon as possible otherwise the pastry layer will not taste crispy. I also like their caramel mouse, and chocolate layers. It's kinda of sweet but taste good!!

Best cheesecakes as of now are the raspberry and the oreo as well as the regular obviously. Must get a espresso milk shake it was heaven... Please note their Ice cream is insanely good. Bottom line if you walk into this bakery and you don't get any of the 3 above items it was a waste of time. Chances are you will go back. After I finish this review I'll be in my way to the bakery around the corner and get my self an espresso milk shake.

The cakes from here (no matter what you get) seem to always come out perfectly moist and the right balance of sweet and not. I recommend a chocolate cake for an indulgent occasion and a strawberry shortcake for those who can't handle sweets (diabetics, etc.).

Martha's is awesome because they have a variety of bake goods that are all really well done. I really recommend the cheesecake and the Seven layer chocolate cake, but I have also had the tiramisu and other cupcakes and macaroons and everything is always amazing and fresh. I like this location better than others because it is easier to find street parking. No that the place can't get busy, and it's probably better to get your stuff to go but you are able to sit down and eat if you would like.

Desserts were just okay - I tried the Tiramisu cupcake - the flavor of the cake was okay but it was hard/stale. The frosting/icing was very waxy which I don't like. I also tried the Oreo cake and didn't like this much. The white filling was like a whip cream/bland icing instead of the oreo cream you would expect. The Oreo layers could have been more dense. Iced coffee was good though!

Was first class. Not anymore. Desserts visually look like a bite will bring ecstasy but in reality far from it. Mediocre at best. Bought 3 different desserts and all were average. Not what it was a couple of years ago. Perhaps sugar became more expensive. Perhaps they are trying to cater to all peculiarities and taste buds, diabetics etc and end up serving mediocre pastries. Desserts should be SWEET. I should become diabetic with a bite. ^^ Asked for an apple pie crumb cake and when at home realized it was an apple crumb cheese cake. My mistake not to open the box there, the server's mistake not to repeat my order to make sure. Live too far to drive back. $40-$50 in the trash.

Small bakery with large selection of delicious pastries. All pastries are good, and gelato is great too. Would recommend: espresso, hazelnut gelato, triple chocolate mousse, mini apple pie. Prices are somewhat high but product is worth it. Store could use easier to read signage in pastry cases, chalkboards have item names but nothing in front of the pastries.

The Oreo cupcakes are to die for. Food was very good. The place is a bit packed at all times though but it’s worth the wait. My only gripe is that I had wanted the Oreo Chocolate Moouse(?) Cake, but they have me the regular chocolate one. I still ate it and enjoyed it but it was a bit to rich in chocolate for me. Overall good clean place but crowded most times of the day. Well worth it though.

Cakes, cupcakes, pastries, coffee, tea. Ok, not award winning coffee. But, the cakes, cupcakes, hands down more than award winning, the taste is priceless. I bought several desserts, cake slices and my favorite, chocolate and tiramisu cupcake, to share, wow!! I was so excited to share. I brought friends. Attended an intimate dinner among 30 or so close friends. The host served cakes from Martha's Country Bakery, everyone was more than enamoured by the degree of deliciousness. The location is next to the LIRR train station. Inside seating is for aprox 40 or less, counting the stools and two chairs by coffee/tea area. Due to the crowd it's actually looks smaller than expected. The door entrance is wheelchair accessible. But, once inside, due to the crowded area, it will take some maneuvering just to get to the seating area.Martha's Bakery, becomes crowded pretty quickly. Because of the crowd, it"s been observed that the staff is not clear on who is next in line. Fortunately, there's order, pleasantries, half smiles and patience among the patrons. So, they speak up by identifying or making any necessary corrections on who is next in line. The only draw back that I experienced to patronizing a fabulous good tasting and, popular bakery, is that I never checked my to go orders. I spent a pretty penny buying several different cupcakes and cakes, only to discover staff had not put everything into the bag. Once the error was discovered I was a 2hr drive away. I called and no apology was extended. But, they confirmed the desserts were packaged and sitting behind the counter. I asked if they could include an additional pastry or cupcake for my inconvenience to drive back, especially after I paid for them and it wasn't my error. They were kind But, declined. Instead, they responded by saying mistakes happen and that it's a busy bakery. I never returned to Martha's Country Bakery. I am a person who potentially, could have been one of their best customers.

Nice bakery, convenient location, we were able to find street parking, the place was packed at 10pm and is open late. Reason for 3 stars because it was very expensive. Coffee and a dessert with tip $20. Coffee $5, apple crumble $7.5, ice cream another $2.5. Not sure how people pay these prices. Coffee wasnt hot enough so had to get it warmed up. I don't think I will be going again to chill out. But if you can drop a 20 and want a nice place to hang out, by all means.

Martha's country bakery may be a bakery, but it is anything but country! As a former resident of the South, I know country bakeries and this ain't it! However, it is awesome! On a Friday night, dance music blares through the speakers. It's a great place for takeout desserts or just hangin out after dinner. Lots of tables and attentive wait staff. We had hot chocolate and a cannoli - yum! One knock is the price -- in my opinion it was a bit pricy for a dessert spot. Still worth the trip though!

I loveeeeeee red velvet so when I walked into this bakery. I had to get red velvet everything. The red velvet hot chocolate was so yummy. The red velvet cake was also pretty good, not too sweet and not dry. The filling was the perfect amount so you actually get to taste the cake. When I go back I def want to to try a cheesecake. Options are unlimited here. I went on a Friday night, the music and the dj was good ! Def good for groups Of 6/8 only because they they a large space.

I thought perhaps these two would pair well...I was wrong. I should have kept to my delicacy. I like this location of Martha's. Most times I grab a late night snack and I tend to wait on the servers who are friendly and helpful. I am a fan of the berry Napoleon which now has very little berries compared to before and the vegan chocolate fudge which is super moist compared to the forest hill store which is so dry. Some of the other desserts are really too sweet for me though but that's just my taste.

However recently for my birthday my husband ordered a cake only to come and pick it up and they couldn’t find the order! Haven't been back in a year and with inflation and the high cost of having a business on Bell, a piece of cake has gone past $7 and a cappuccino close to $6. Eating with a friend, we spent over $30 for 4 items which included tip while dining in. The desserts are fantastic, but the growing cost will become a deterrent to those on a tight budget. Waited a bit long on line to order but it is expected so it’s ok. The issue is with that one lady employee, paled skin with long light brown hair, on Wed. Night I believe. Asked her for the cheesecake with the raspberry on top and she replies “what are you talking about” with an attitude. Also rushes you and clearly was flustered with the previous customer that ordered a customized cake. No need for an attitude just because you were frustrated. If she gets flustered on a wed. night then I do not want her taking my order on a weekend.

They have everything a sweet tooth could desire: gelato, coffee bar, indoor seating, macarons, cheesecake bars, cannoli, tiramisu, cranberry bread, muffins, cupcakes, and giant cookies. There's a walnut pie that one person in our group used "face plant" to describe how delicious this pie looks. Been here 3 days. Been to Martha's 3 times. Not sorry. Excited about tomorrow's visit! Went here after dinner to seat for dessert and have a cappuccino but the place was packed and waiting time was 30 minutes or so...we decided to get take out. It was my first time ever going and it was like a kid walking into a candy store for the first time. They have so many different kinds of desserts, pastries, cakes, it was just amazing. I went for the Fruit (Berry) Napoleon. As soon as I got home and comfortable, I took a spoon to that thing and it was light and so delicious. I mean I couldn't stop myself it was so good. Will be going back again to try the vegan strawberry cheesecake.

This is the place to go when you’re craving dessert after 10pm. The staff is cool, they don’t overly annoy you. They take care of you and let you be. Carrot cake, really good not overly sweet, nice nuts in the cake to give it some texture. Cream cheese frosting put it all together nicely. Frozen Hot Chocolate, taste exactly like hot chocolate but cold. It’s very sweet so I would probably just recommend getting it on it’s own Stop by and enjoy the place, you won’t regret it

I gave 2 stars is that the people working there is so careless. I staying in front of the glass for almost 10mins, 3 ladies working in the back, no one come to help me, they just hanging out at the cashier. So I finally had to shout l, can someone help me. So they get the cake, I ordered coffe, I told them can I sit down and eat. Then the lady in blond, rolled her eyes and told me you have to order from waitress. But I already ordered everything, so I have to wait waitress order, and that take long time too, the cake I ordered took another 5min still not hand to me, I have to go to counter to ask them again, can I have my cake now. Theres onlt two table including me, 4 ladies and 1 guy working, no one waiting in line, still so slow. I have to say the waitress wear glass is the nice, it's the attitude the 2 ladies at cashier really make me feel not comfortable. July 2nd,10 12:20.

Martha's Country Bakery, it looks like a normal bakery restaurant but it is more than that. They offer various types of dessert - cake, cupcake, ice cream, cookies, pies etc everything you want for dessert. All the dessert looks so normal but it tastes so good. I ordered triple chocolate mousse and tres leches. Both are really good, triple chocolate mousse provide complex texture of cake, cream and mousse while tres leches provide soft and milky flavours.

The place is loaded with cakes of every imaginable flavor and the portions are huge! They also have breads and loaves which looked amazing and the portions looked big as well. We got 4 different macaroons and the my were instantly devoured with no trace of them. The place was maintained sparkling clean and staff were super friendly. I also noticed the kosher certification on the glass window as I walked in. Attached to this bakery is also a coffee shop offering some great looking concoctions that is love to try next time. Beware of this place. Prices at the coffee counter are not the true prices, but some old prices they forgot to change. Above that, 15% taxes apply that they also forgot to mention. So I ended up overcharged by 40%. (6.26 for an average cappuccino is a lot, we're not even in Manhattan. There are much nicer places in Brooklyn that serve you a better-quality cappuccino for 4.5 at max.)

Pastries and cakes are ok but not worth the price. Alot of variety but they all look better than they taste. 7 inch cheese cake for $45 is kind of insane.

This place has such a great atmosphere and the deserts are absolutely delicious. The staff are helpful and attentive even though they are a very busy place. The cookies are amazing and the gelato is to die for. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone I know and it’s well worth the hour drive.

Great place for a tea and sweet satisfaction. My cousin a local introduce me to this popular and busy hot spot. We enjoy good conversation over a red velvet and a black forest cup cake with ice cappuccino, slamming. Good hostess and server made a easy and pleasant visit.

I was waiting for a friend for lunch. While waiting at the outdoor seating area I was given multiple dirty looks from all the staff. I just felt uncomfortable and decided to leave and meet my friend at another location. I never even had a chance to eat so definitely my last time going there

Amazing bakery!! There's a huge selection of everything you could want. From sweet to savory. I had the banana Walnut pound cake with a pumpkin spice latte. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Perfect stop in the morning to start the day. Will definitely be back when I visit again!

Love the large fruit tart here. Highly recommend it. Fruits are very fresh. Always packed at night. Table wait is like 20-30 minutes. Sorry not sorry, but your gelato sucks. It's not gelato, just regular ice cream.

I felt very uncomfortable there. I was told to order with a server if I wanted to eat at the table. I waited patiently for at least 10 minutes. No one walked over. I had to stop a random person to ask if there were anyone taking orders and why wasnt my order being taken? I wanted the dessert warm, it came cold. I was so upset, my friend had to speak to management. I will NEVER eat here again. To be the only black person in the restaurant and get ignored the way I did, was a shock to me. I have had so much Martha's bakery its a surprise i don't have diabetes yet. The baked good here are delicious. Waiting for a table isn't always worth it though. However they have options upon options of amazing baked goods and desserts. Their triple chocolate mouse cake is to die for.

Martha's Country Bakery has become a staple go to of mine because of the large spacious seating area, amazing coffee, and week variety of pastries. The weekend mornings also have breakfast specials which include any breakfast pastry with a cup of coffee. I highly recommend going on a Saturday morning with a book to and spending a few hours.

Don't get this on confused for its smaller twin on the same street. This is much larger has seating options for large number of guest. The desserts are amazing but since the recent price change (it went up) I sometimes think twice about going. But it's still delicious and the service there is amazing!

I have been coming to Martha’s bakery for years! Forest Hills has been my location, however as I was in Williamsburg I decided to buy few pastries: the mango mousse and brownie cheese cake. Once I tried a bite of each at home I was terrible shocked. The pastries tasted awful, cheesecake was extremely dry and gummy as if it was old. Mango had very weird taste as well. I threw it out. I’m not sure if it’s because of the location or just wasn’t lucky with the choices at that moment. I probably will go back but not to that location. The only amazing thing there was cappuccino. Oh, and the gelato was good too.

Everyone in here is always really friendly. There's Wi-Fi and there's always plenty of seating. There is table service but it's also just as common to order and go. The staff is really friendly and they have a coffee bar in the back. They have cookies, ice cream, cake, pie and all sorts of other treats that are quite good.
