Food okay. Service is slow and didn't seem to know their menu. Price was fine for French bakery.

xiao hello

The place serves great breakfast, lunch and dinner. And if you don't want food, it is also a great place to just sit and study or chill with friends with coffee or desserts. The cappuccinos are served in a bowl instead of a mug, which I thought was very unique. The environment is great if you are alone studying or on a date. Servers are very friendly. Only wished that there is a place like this in Jersey, so I can go there all the time!

Great food great service! The croissants are very flaky and taste amazing. Coffee pot refills were no charge. Sit back and relax and watch the world walk by while you brunch.

Matthew Berry

Arguably the best coffee in the town center. The pastries are always tasty and good for a quick grab and go. The food is delicious, though be prepared to wait a bit. Prices are comparatively high. The staff is very friendly and pleasant, and always greets with a smile.

The omelette was good but the place was very disorganized and it took a while to get our food.

It's a longer story about how horribly sub-par the roll-out of this new location is, but here's the short of it: Went in there this morning and ordered eggs, they came out cold, we told the waiter, who said: "Would you like me to heat them up?" He actually asked that. Offering an entirely new plate wasn't even in the realm of his thought. And then we spoke to the manager (who clearly wasn't the actual manager) who apologized, but didn't offer to comp the meal - I had to suggest she comp it, to which she complied. With the prices that LPQ charges, and with how clueless the staff is, it's not worth going here, unless they make some serious changes. But that brings up the whole point: Why would you spend all this time and money to open up a place and then roll it out with sub-par staff? I blame the general manager. We intend to go back and speak to him or her. Bottom line, they need to take notes from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.

Friendly staff and quick seating during off hours. Prices are typical for Reston town center (high but to be expected). They get 3 stars from me because they were out of many of the options on their menu. No pancakes, no ingredients for 3 other dishes we tried to order. I had to settle for a breakfast sandwich (was delicious but it's nothing special). Waiter explained that the manager forgot to do the food order the night before, hence the shortages. Staff was kind but couldn't keep my drink filled. 3 out of 5 stars for inattentive staff and out of stock menu items.

I had the chicken noodle soup here and it was better than I expected! We had to wait a bit to find seats together at the large communal tables. There aren't many places like this in this area so it's nice to be able to run and grab something from familiar.

This is our go-to bakery. Having worked in a bakery before, I can say this place has the highest level of precautions for hygiene of any bakery in the area. I've seen other places in Reston where the cashiers are handling food with loose long hair. Their tartines are tasty. The prices may seem higher, but so is the quality and cleanliness of the location. It's a place I'm comfortable taking guests.

Maggie Condon

I have been eating at Pain on 8th Street and 5th since they opened. Good food but service is usually uneven. Tonite I observed server Samara on the floor. She is a treasure. attention to detail, lovely attitude, easily smiles, you can tell...smart as hell. Please don’t loose her. Appreciate her!!! Maggie - a regular.

This cute little french place is okay at best. It's a cute spot, definitely overrated and overpriced for what it is. Ive been here a bunch of times and the food is always overpriced. Paid 14 bucks for this vegetarian quiche. It was soggy at the bottom, like it was pre cooked, had been sitting there for days and then they microwaved it on high heat to serve. It had a decent taste, nothing extraordinary. Then there is the confusion of where to sit, because the community table has no servers. You pay for your meal and sit there. But if you want table services you go sit elsewhere Wouldn't be back.

Awful service and food in newly opened location in Reston, VA. Went to this place for Sunday brunch (10 people); not too many people inside but took a long time to get our order. Our food and coffee were served cold after awhile! The bread basket was stale, a few empty of jar jam and chocolate spread on the table!:(. I told the waitress about it and the response was ‘you don’t want the basket’? Seriously???? Not even offered to replace it with fresh bread (if they had any)! We paid and told the manager our experience with the place. It seems they are fully aware of all issues and service quality. I definitely don’t go back to this location and do not recommend it. To le pain quotidian: You should care more about your brand.

Karen Abbruzzio

My sister told me we have to try this place. She seemed to have high expectations.Well they try to bring an Aire of quaint cafe. The place is large,I had to keep looking for the server. She made us very uncomfortable with her Curt, cold manner. High prices. I wouldn't mind so much if I had an enjoyable experience. Sort of cold atmosphere.A completely unacceptable server & service in general. I don't remember the Latte's, I guess they didn't leave much of an impression. The scones & muffins were good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. I would be willing to give them a second chance.

This is a really beautiful place where you can sit and relax and have some coffee. If you take into account where it's located, you can say it's "quiet"

Good, healthy food, served in Belgian country style. Not the cheapest, but a great alternative. Do yourself a favor and buy half a loaf of their sourdough bread.

Having breakfast here is an absolutely delightful experience as the breads and other ingredients come as great quality with a variety of choices to spread on your breads. Our server--whom I forgot the name of, tragically--was incredibly attentive, friendly, and accurate in taking our orders.

Barbara Weisman

These Belgian cafes serve an elevated version of cafe grub at elevated prices. The hot chocolate is scrumptious. The provincial decor massages the souls of patrons feasting on mindbogglingly expensive plates of bread and cheese.

Favorite place in the area. Nice location, friendly staff, clean. Great for breakfast, light lunch or as a coffee stop. They have gluten free bread and some sweets.

Laura Fidler

Fresh vegetables, vegan options, creative offerings, attentive service and they validate parking. William is the consummate professional and clearly relishes his role in customer care. This chain has mastered the art of providing the service that a small mom and pop restaurant would.

Ginger Jack

This place is a little expensive, but it's worth it for the quality. Staff are what you would expect at any other cafe, they're there to do a job and get paid, but they're working with really high quality ingredients and know how to use them. Rather slow in the weekday morning, and their coffee isn't too bad, so stop by if your in a rush.

MARIANA COSTELLI

We ran in to grab some coffee and pastries on a Sunday morning and were greatly disappointed by our experience. The service was terrible, nobody seemed to know what they were doing and it took forever to get our simple order. I ordered a latte and it was worse than gas station coffee. Would not go back or recommend, there are much better places around - check out Ted's Bulletin instead.

Le Pain Quotidien is just steps away from Washington Square Park, and the historic Arch. I had their croquette monsieur, matcha green tea latte, oatmeal, and child dish. As usual, the food was delicious for breakfast or lunch Cafe fare, healthy or gluttonous, you can go either way here, and the service was impeccable. I wish I knew the name of our server, because his service absolutely exceeded my expectations, and he was very engaging, and patient to my two young children. A wonderful experience, and atmosphere to boot. Lunch pictured here was $50, including tip.

(Translated by Google) Le Pain Quotidien is a great choice for any meal of the day, the prices are reasonable however the food is mostly healthy and delicious! The portions and dishes are individual unless you are not very hungry and want to eat an appetizer only, the atmosphere is warm and pleasant (although that day was relatively cold outside and the air conditioning was very cold and we had to change from place), attentive staff, would definitely go again! Good Bakery/Bad customer service They know their bread. It's worth a trip. The problem is, one never knows if one can get it. The inventory control is horrible. We use Arlington location in a pinch, they are better at inventory. Ordering ahead of time does not help. Officially, they require a two day notice for an order. No matter, even with two day notice one can be greeted with empty shelves and an idiotic excuse, "We are so popular, we sold it". I think it's in their manual, we got identical non cearing stupidity at the Alexandria store as well. My other minor wish is related to their eat-in menu: all their dishes are overloaded with carbs at the expense of protein. I do love their bread, but- Maybe it is too much to expect from a bakery. PS. They discontinued cheese danishes, brrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

There is always a shortage on the number of the waiting staff. Service is awful. The soup I had tasted like it went bad, glad I recognized it early and did not get food poisoned. The waiters try to do their best but the restaurant has 1 or 2 waiters during the peak hours, it is ridiculous. I used to love their food but will not come back. Edit: This place has changed now. I am not sure if management has changed or not but right now the experience is great. William made our experience incredibly different. I am changing my vote to 5 starts thanks to the fast and attentive kitchen and William.

Hello, Wanted to share with you my experience at Le Pain Quotidien at W8/5th Ave. On Saturday 7/13 evening time I purchased Quinoa Salad from the fridge and a day later on Sunday morning I started feeling very bad. I was throwing up over 15 times and went to get immediate care at Lenox hill hospital at W13 Street. I was staying at the hospital for 8 hours with 2 IV and was given 3 IV's of anti vomiting. It’s been a week since that happened and i’m still recovering and traumatize! I must say that at that the Quinoa salad smelled very weird but I didn’t pay attention since I was so hungry and thought maybe it’s just me. Please note, Few years ago I returned Quinoa Salad at the Perry location(Now closed) since it wasn’t fresh. You must check the freshness of your food especially the salads in the fridge!! This can be very dangerous and can cause health hazard to other customers!! Be aware!

Was really excited to try a new place in the town center. When we got it, there was no clear direction on how to be seated. My son and I stood around for about 10 minutes waiting to talk to the lady at the counter who was helping a customer. Another customer walked in and was helped by a man who went to the second cash register. A waitress passed by us multiple times. They were completely ignoring us. We decided leaving would be better than wasting our time. I will not be back.

Living in RTC, I was so excited for this place to open, but each time I've been, I leave disappointed. I ordered a cappuccino, and under the foam, it was a gross grey color. The tumeric latte was bland and gross. My food came out cold in the middle, with the cheese unmelted and the croissant greasy and soggy. The egg tasted a bit off. When I asked them to remake my sandwich it took so long to make that the person I was with wanted to leave. It's not hard to make a croissant sandwich and they weren't even busy at the time. The only redeeming thing is their bread, and they stopped doing the baguette happy hour, so that's lost to me. The staff is not properly trained, and they switched the bills for the tables last time I went. The other couple had already paid our check when they gave us our check, which was actually their check. We had to wait even longer for them to reverse the charge so we could pay the correct check. Like everyone else has said, this place is super slow, and such a disappointment. I had such high hopes for this place.

Simone Salzvedel

Hipster place!

Nice service. Good selection of quick bites and hot/cold beverages that are priced right. Ample seating with good ambiance, good place to people watch.

Every time I visit our New York office I stop here for a latte and pastry. I've tried a number of different items: muffins, scones, cookies, fruit tart. I've never been disappointed yet! They have beautiful braided bread loaves for sale, which would make a great centerpiece for a dinner party. They also have soup, salad and quiche if you need something more substantial. The space is very light and bright and you sit at big communal tables. I wish they'd open a location in the Bay Area!

I live in McLean and I have to say I love so much the atmosphere, service, presentation, waiters, food there. However, in Reston’s location is the worse. It is like the opposite from Tysons location.

Michael Clark

Sat and waited....and waited....the manager finally noticed us and sent a waiter over. The waiter tells us before even taking our order that there will be a "kind of a delay" in getting food. When we ask what was "kind of a delay"? He corrects himself....there will be a long delay.....so we decided to leave. The one in New York City was awesome. This one might not last long in Reston.

Why pre order are items then get to place and wait another 30 min. Very slow spot

whirldpeace

Waited well over 15 mins for a breakfast sandwich, while I see two others who came in after me get theirs. Yet somehow when I mention that part, I’m the one causing the problem. And to the guy who said ‘be patient’, I ran out. Maybe like you ran out of cheese that was supposed to be included, or the mayo I requested. Or even the apology from you that never came, except to offer me something else I didn’t want. If I’d have wanted a coffee, I would have ordered it to begin with. I want my 15 minutes back instead so I can make it to my appointment on time.

For a chain restaurant, this place feels more like a local favorite. The whole place needed a power wash, but the service was great and my strawberry toast was delicious and memorable.

bit pricey for coffee and danish, but its reliable. Love the Hazelnut sticks! Great sandwiches and BREAD!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor quality, poor service. I ordered a take out delivery via one of the food delivery services. The received order was missing items and containers were half empty. My first and last time to order from Le Pain Quotidien.

Food quality and service is great! Also, I love the little tables at the front with a very European layout ☺️ perfect for having a great conversation

The coffee and waffles were good but the place could really do with some comfortable seats for people that just want to sink into a chair and relax. All the chairs were just table chairs so you can never get too comfortable. It's a shame, because I probably would have stayed for another coffee if I felt more comfortable.

I really like the gluten free bread here, but the service is horrible. It's actually a common trend with LPQs. Don't go here if you're in a rush.

Healthy and hearty food and unique flavors for breakfast. Food was good but servicer forgot part of the order and when we got the bill we learned we were billed for it. When we asked about it she fixed it by giving it to us Togo. But she didn't acknowledge her error nor the inconvenience to us with an apology. when did customer service stop being important?

I only wanted to sit down for a coffee then leave, but the service was extremely slow (mid afternoon on a Saturday). I eventually stood up to find a waiter so that I could pay and leave. Also pretty expensive ($5+tip for coffee).

Organic breakfast! Nice restaurant but left hungry. Server was hit and miss, even if you are a vegetarian you should be able to state how the meat is, from customers or other servers. Coffee was okay, even though it was served in a "cup". Love the bread and pastries.

I do like some of the dishes served in this restaurant and two waiters have been very nice to me. But overall this restaurant is extremely short-staffed, usually resulting in a torturously long wait before some one takes your order or check. If you plan to sit here and play with your laptop (they have two or three power outlets), it’ll probably be okay. For people who need to work after the meal and don’t have time sitting here all day, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. Zero-star for this business’s manager, four-star for their hardworking employees.

Yoonju Kim

Pastries are better than average but the staff is typically unprofessional.

We had breakfast here. The service was very nice and the food was soooo delicious! I usually don't like chains but this one is the best chain ever! They also have healthy and organic food. The quiche was really good, we tried the omelettes which were very good. They had yummy bread. The Belgian hot chocolate was so good and very special. You'll see:) And we all loved the moist Belgian brownies! OMG! They're sooo good. They're pricey but it's so worth it!

Ok so the tumeric milk (with whole milk) was great. Creamy, subtle and calming. Normally I'd say it would pair well with avacado toast, but not the sad, soggy and slightly brown lump I was served. Yes the pictures one you get when searching up the restaurant looks amazing. What you get really isn't. Still obviously a nice join for a slow breakfast.

Called for a takeout order of the Mini Dutch Pancakes. Went to pick it up, and they didnt make it because they are out of pancakes. So, I wasted my time driving to the restaraunt and still need to find something to eat. To be fair, they did recommend a waffle instead and they would throw in an extra one for free. But, the waffles were prepackaged and loaded with sugar. Its not what I wanted. They said sorry and I left. They could have at least given me a free voucher or something. Not satisfied. Management should have alerted the front staff that they were out of pancakes.

Charlotte Tabor

Terrible service! I had to get up and ask to be served after 10 min. Glassware they brought was dirty, multiple times. I had to get up and ask for refills. Food wasn't great. I'm never going back. And I would recommend you dont waste your time or money on an awful experience.

Same great food LPQ offers, but the long narrow layout of this location somehow reduces the cozy ambience and feel this chain of cafés is known for.

Andrew McCanny

This was in a very good location and appeared nice from the outside, with windows looking into the street. Staff were enthusiastic if not a little overbearing at times, although we did have to wait between sitting and ordering and receiving when it seemed relatively quiet. My Americano coffee was very average and the hot chocolate - although it looked nice to add a small pot of chocolate to milk - had very little flavour and was very disappointing. Although this store called us in from the outside, we left quite disappointed with what it offered.

Beautiful place, good service, bad internet.

I could not get anyone to take my order. Normally the food and service is great.

Worst Take away bowl I had in nyc (and they made me Even Wait 15 minutes for it)

I love this place. Location is perfect for those who live in RTC but the employees are awesome. Marcus is always so kind and helpful. I get a hug and a giant laugh everytime I go in! The food is fantastic too. I already enjoyed Le Pain but this location, staff, and management (Marcus) is by far the best. Recommended!

Brunch was OK: good tea but eggs were cold

Their coffee cups freak me out by not having any handles other than that a tasty place.

Cute little place.

Great Belgian chocolate and maroccan mint tea. Nice wooden furniture, jazz music, comfy vibes. Service was good and the the attention to subtle detail made this feel like a classy experience.
