Many guests, including myself, were astonished at the beauty and elegance of this masterpiece. Additionally, a very warm thank you to Aisha for her endless help in planning this cake showing endless support through the process. You are truly a great person to work with! All guests enjoyed the cake as it was said to be "very moist" and "delicious".

Horrible service! The worker serving the lunch special walked away to intentionally not serve me. Then proceeded to ask if another customer needed help that walked in after me. As I turned to leave he then returned to the counter to continue preparing the specials! Very sad and never experienced such blatant disrespect.

Expensive. But superb! You get what you pay for. And we always leave VERY happy! ☺ I travel the distance for all birthday cakes because there's nothing like it anywhere around. Top of the line bakery. The staff is extremely professional and courteous. 5 stars.

Everything here is fresh and delicious! If I worked here I would be the size of a house! I wouldn't be able to help myself from trying everything! The assortment is huge! The hours open are long and makes it convenient for last minute pastry purchases. The presentation and pastries are also beautiful. I'm glad there are many locations as well.

Calandra's has the best cakes, pastries, bread and the list goes on. Their staff are the best. So far I've been to the Newark & Caldwell locations. They do not disappoint. The Caldwell location is pretty big. My husband and I need to go back soon to check out their restaurant.

Stopped in for some cheesecake for my friend and I. Cheesecake they had on their menu wasn't there so I asked. It was just cheesecake with pecans. No one seemed to have heard if it. When I showed their website picture the clerk looked like she had never even seen one in the store before. That was all fine. It was when I called back and asked what the ingredients were that I lost interest in this place. My friend is on a reflux diet and I was just wondering what the ingredients were so I asked. I understand there are trademarks in one's recipe but in this day and age everyone has their ingredients posted for nutrition reasons alone. When I finally got in toucn with I believe who the baker was, he responded with a nasty tone, "each person has their own recipe. I should know that". Then immediately hung up. The cheesecake itself wasn't even good. It tasted no different then cream cheese alone. As my friend said, "a box of cheesecake from the dollar store would have been better". We both agreed it was the worst cheesecake ever.

I read colangelo's bakery number 5 it is absolutely delicious food cakes ice cream whatever you want you want to buy some boots at all it's there.. where there every single day buying bread pastry and all kinds of goodies it is the best place to go for your bread or pastries .. Calandra's Bakery is definitely a number 5 in rating

Goodness gracious! Incredible deserts, amazing bread, superior service and exquisite ambience! Did I mention they only use four ingredients, never any chemicals or preservatives? A very modest and unassuming Mr. Calandra happened to stop by, he shook my hand and thanked me for my business. That's the kind of old school business, that's not taught at Harvard! Thank you, sir. It was an honour to meet you!

The food for Mothers Day this past Sunday was not great for the price. However, one thing that stood out for me (and my mother in law) which was a 5 star, was their coffee. I have never had such amazing coffee in my entire God damn life. I would actually return to Calandra's based on their coffee quality alone. I imagine this is a major component of why people eat at this restaurant subconsciously. Their pastries? Eh. Brunch buffet selection? Eh. Coffee? Epic. -Phil Kent

Very annoyed with this bakery just off of a 1 minute conversation. Literally! 1st impressions are everything, because they fell flat on their 1st impression, I will never know what their desserts taste like. I called inquiring about a last minute custom cake for next week, I told them what I would want and offered to send a picture because I know I couldn't explain it correctly. I was put on hold for a second and then was told they can absolutely do it BUT I would have to come in, I reiterated that I was in another state, and asked if I can pay over the phone as well as send a photo. Very dry she repeated "You would have to come in" So I will not be coming in ever nor will ever provide my business.

Everything looks aesthetic and I was very excited, but taste was only okay. I guess the mass production of this bakery brings down the quality. If you're looking for truly delicious, authentic dessert, try a smaller bakery. This is still a nice a place to grab a quick dessert and an espresso

Okay so this bakery is honestly the worst bakery in Caldwell area. Its bread is alright its nothing special and its pastries are terrible. It is disgusting and should be shut down. We bought two pies today a pumpkin and a coconut, they were the worst pies my entire family has ever tasted. These pies literally tasted like pesticides. I don't know how its still in business or how people actually like, it is such a commercial bakery and should never be even considered a bakery.

Amazing pastries! Very friendly staff and the place is so clean and has ample room, quick service, etc. It's a bit pricey if you ask me that's why the 4 stars. Other than that you can't find this quality and selection in bakery anywhere near.

One of the best bakeries around, worth driving to from many miles away. Show up hungry bc the cafe/deli area makes fresh sandwiches and platters...not to mention the restaurant and bar area. Great for large meals and adult nights out.

What an amazing local Italian bakery! They make all their own pastries & food items on-site, and have a HUGE selection. At one end of the large building is a cafe, with pizza sold whole and by the slice, Italian entrees, and drinks. They also have a mini-market of authentic Italian foods, as well as pasta they make themselves. There's a refrigerator/freezer section with entrees you can take home to cook. In the center of the building is the bakery and OH MY I can't even begin to describe it - so many delicious options, from fresh baguettes to Italian cookies, pastries, biscotti, cakes, cupcakes, chocolate-dipped pretzels & more! At the other end of the building is a restaurant, but I didn't make it down that far. I'll definitely return to Calandra's the next time I'm in the area!

My aunt & uncle live in West Caldwell and when we visited them I stopped in Calandra's Bakery in Caldwell to pick up bread and a layer cake. It was the worse cake we had ever eaten. We actually threw it in the garbage and had ice cream with our coffee instead. On the other side of the coin, I must admit, that the bread we bought was excellent. My aunt said to us that we wouldn't know not to go there since we are from south Jersey, but they had stopped going there and instead have been buying cake & pastries at Sorrento's Bakery in East Hanover. The next visit up to visit them we stopped in at Sorrento's Bakery and my aunt was correct. WHAT A DIFFERENCE !!! It's like night & day. We did enjoy Calandra's bread, but Sorrento's bread was equally as good.
