delicious and warm croissants, though slightly pricey!
Amazing bread. Delicious quiche. And possibly the best crème brûlée in the city. Worth a trip.
After walking across the Brooklyn Bridge I peaked in here for something sweet. I wanted something small, rich and chocolatey. I chose the chocolate hazelnut ball. While it wasn't terribly rich, it was the perfect size. There was only a very short line and service was fast. while there were tables open, I opted to take mine to-go. It was a small, but comfortable space.
Warm and cozy atmosphere and scrumptious food. However, on the pricey side.
Wonderful service. Amazing New York style cheesecake, and definitely one of the best lattes I've ever had!
Small and cozy. Delicious, fresh pastry and fresh made amazing sandwiches and focaccia. Original croissants. Loved the almond croissant!
SUCH AMAZING CAKES THEY HAVE. The chocolate mousse cake is astonishingly good.
Small shop serving great quality pastries, my favorite are the blueberry muffins and beignets on the weekends. I have been here on and off since 2013
We got cupcakes for a coworkers birthday here - they were gone in 10 minutes. Loved them!
The cheesecake is pure heaven with the perfect amount of vanilla bean. The giant chocolate macaron is also outstanding. We come here just for coffee sometimes.
Great croissants and french baguette sandwiches to go take to the park.
One of the best spots for lunch in DUMBO. Delicious savory & sweet pastries and deserts, as well as sandwiches and quiche, and coffee.
I could post a review ten miles long about how amazing the Almondine Bakery is, and how scrumptious and stunning its creations are at the hands of French baker Herve Poussot (magician-in-charge) and his 24-carat gold crew. Of all the countless bakeries in New York, we had the spectacularly good fortune to find the perfect one to bring the wedding cake of our dreams to life. My sister-in-law and I had stepped into the very busy but warm and welcoming bake shop to taste-test cakes after arranging an in-person appointment with Herve (he was always very responsive to e-mails). He met us right on time, spiral notepad in hand, ready to sketch images of the cake as I described my ideas - as well as demonstrate other potential creations. But all the sketching in the world could not prepare me for what was to come. After one bite (out-of-this-world delicious does not begin to describe it), I knew I had hit the jackpot. It was as if a boulangerie in Paris had transported itself to Brooklyn. Having already gotten a price estimate - which was shockingly reasonable - I exclaimed just four words: "You've got the job!" I subsequently e-mailed to Herve pictures of various wedding cakes, telling him which features of which cakes I wanted to incorporate into what would become my future hubby's and my wedding cake. To make things even more interesting, this was a destination wedding - so e-mails and clear communication were critically important. How did it all turn out? The cake was gorgeous, heavenly-tasting, and delivered on time to our reception venue - with no charge for delivery since it was considered local to the Almondine Bakery. Not that I ever plan to get married again, but if I did - it would be the Almondine Bakery, all the way. Fantastic!!
Best crescents in NYC. So flaky!
Best croissants and baguettes in the city!
Excellent small bakery. Small tables inside where coffee or thee van be consumed without the cookies. The cookies can be served hot or cold.
Very good macaroons here with lots of selection.
Good place to get sweets
Great baguette. One of the best shops in dumbo .
Decent. Creative and fun but could be better
Fresh and delicious!
Delicious French bakery opposite a famous chocolate shop. Tiny place to get your caffeine fix.
Loved this place for a quick girls lunch. Had really yummy soup and baguette and beautiful macaroons for dessert. Also great chai tea lattes!
Not bad
I hard a hard time to find a parking spot on the weekends but loved their pastries!
Nice bakery in a good location. The coffee and croissants we had were great. The atmosphere was neither bright nor cosy and seemed a little subdued. Everything was nice enough, but nothing was particularly excellent, nor exceptional value for money and so wouldn't feel the need to go back. Would recommend though for a quick stop to refuel if nearby.
Awesome little bakery and cafe near the water in Brooklyn. Loved the coffee, and the cozy seating arrangements.
Quiche sooo soft
Service is friendly and polite. Food and coffee are goods. Regular price, if you used to go in french bakery.
Their croissant selections are great! Sandwiches are also very good!
Tart was great :)
The most amazing croissants you can find.
Excellent a bit pricy
Beautiful little bakery in Dumbo. The baguette sandwiches were disappointing and the quiche was served too hot. Recommend sticking to the freshly baked croissants and baguettes.
The chocolate almond croissant was perfect, and there is an amazing view of the Brooklyn Bridge il you go around the building and sit on a bench by the water.
Best bread in Brooklyn. Their muffins are equally excellent as is everything else they sell. This is Dumbo’s true gem.
The best croissants and baguettes this side of the Atlantic
Cozy and good tasty!
Good coffee and great choice of delicious cookies
Best bakery in New York. The offerings range from very good to sublime.
The food is exceptional and nice and fresh. The service staff were very polite and cheerful as soon as we walked through the door. This little bakery is a gem of Brooklyn.
Iced coffee was delicious. Almond croissant was delightful. Fresh OJ was marvelous. $10 minimum for credit cards.
I came on January 3rd, 2019 at 9:05 am and the short lady gave me the worst customer service I've experienced in my entire life. She was as rude as it can get. She treated me like if I was giving her a favor by ordering food. It wasn't even crowded. There was no reason for her to treat me like she did. This person should not be working with customers. I would be great for firing employees. That should be her job. I'll keep all the cursing to myself, but she really deserved some
Good bakery. On the expensive side.
Defiantly old school with a new twist..service is excellent.
which is really expensive. They were tasty, but I still think the ones at Almondine Bakery in Park Slope are better and cheaper. Being the little piggy that I am and since it's the… read more
Best French pastry shop, service is excellent and the chocolate croissants are out of this world, feel like you are in Paris.
Probably the best croissants I've had this side of the pond. Unbelievable job. But to be honest... I liked the beignets they had on sale that day even more. I honestly almost cried from how delicious they were. Awesome job.
Cute bakery, plenty of space to sit and chat
Best chocolate almond croissants on the planet. (However, you will need a quadruple bi-pass afterward.) They also made annexceptionally beautiful and delicious custom croque-en-bouche for 50 people. Truly a work of art and delicious!
All of the goods looked so delicious.
Nice food. Shame about the "Soup Nazi" style service.
Fresh bread and delicious patisserie but horrible plastic plates and cutlery which doesn't do the food credit. A shame.
Definitely recommend this bakery. Its food is really good
Absolutely wonderful! Can't wait to go back!
Valley Village has enough reviews, so I only want to take a moment to say the dulce de leche Napoleon is THE BOMB. After the first few bites, all I could think was, "This is so good, it should be illegal." Luckily for you it's not. It's caramely, flaky, a bit tricky to cut into, and not too sweet. Thanks, Valley Village!
The international croissant/pain chocolat gap has been filled. The USA no longer has to hang its bakery head in shame. Almondine makes absolutely world class pastries, right here in Brooklyn. I'm here straight from a month in Europe, and this is the best croissant crust I've ever had.
Good coffee as well.
The quiche is absolutely Delicious Mouth Watery!!
Best croissant
I have to admit, they have the BEST baguettes in Brooklyn!! I’ve tried other French bakeries in Brooklyn, but this place has the best baguettes by far! In January, they even have delicious King Cakes made with almond filling!!
The best eclairs in NY state
Best place for pastries in Brooklyn
Excellent pastries !
Baguettes and chocolate croissants are awesome.
The taste of the deserts was mediocre, and the place smells of old milk.
Best tart I have ever had ,
You must try their Rochers. To die for
Great food, beautiful place! Do not miss the fresh orange juice!!!
Lovely pastry and coffee shop. Also had soups and bread.
Good bread and overall just a normal bakery
Small place with lots of goodies!!!
I wish I could give 10 starts. Almond / Chocolate croissants are amazing in here. They have fresh orange juice and nice sandwiches.
the very best authentic baguette in the city, the most authentically parisian pastries. a treasure.
Great place for fresh bread, pastries, sadwiches and coffee
Macaron is worth the price, but not exceptional
A third of the display shell was empty. Terrible coffee!
A truly French pastry shop. I love it!
Give me one of... Everything you sell.
Very good french cakes. Pastries are also very good and very french. Actually it is very difficult to find croissants that really taste like this in the US. And they are still kind of normal price (2.75)... normal for NY.... didnt try their bread.
Went here once. I’m from Oregon, so I may not be able to come back for sometime. However, I would love to! Not sure what it was called, but you can see what it was from the photo. It was amazing! Place was clean and had good atmosphere. Not very busy either. Friendly and helpful service too.
Delicious pastry and super fresh juice
Best coffee and croissants this side of the East River!
Always good.
Great place for a quick bite when in Dumbo. They have great sandwiches and bakery.
Literally some of the best pastries I have ever had! And a great neighborhood spot. And it is open earlier than some of the other neighborhood coffee spots.
Absolutely delicious chocolate chip cookies! $10 credit card minimum. Huge variety and lots of space to sit inside. They also make these fun, extra large ferrero Roche balls which are good but not spectacular.
Awesome French pastry, quick service and okay coffee. I will definitely return if I happen to be in Brooklyn again. Be sure to check out their almond croissant!
Almondine sells authentic French pastries, if you don't like it you just don't like French pastries. All the pastries I tried were very good, I was not a big fan of the macaron though...We'll definetly come back
In my opinion, the average rating should be between 3.5 and 4 The place is expensive and quite dirty
rude staff, poor customer service. PLUS no wifi
Their macaroons are amazing ♥️
Came here on a Sunday afternoon with my wife and son. Place was slammed. Food was decent, but there was no seating. And of course filled with W'Burg hipsters.
My go-to place for a "pick me up." The food is dangerously good!!! Everything I've ever ordered has been delicious. YUM!!!
The almond croissant and chocolate almond croissant are the best I've had. Friendly service. Fresh baked goods. Grab some food and coffee from here and sit at the park. This is Brooklyn at its best.
Delicious fruit tarts❣️
Amazing pastries, awesome sandwiches and a delicious lemonade. Unfortunately, most of their products are only available on weekends. During weekdays, the displays are mostly empty.
Simply fantastic. Cheesecake was the best I have had. Great tea. Friendly staff.
Try their lemon tart - delicious! The baguette was nice too - fresh and crunchy.
Absolutely delicious pastries. Have tried about 5 different desserts and every single one was fresh and tasty. We'll definitely be coming back!
This is a delicious French patisserie, located on Water Street near the Brooklyn Bridge. This part of Brooklyn by the piers has become a huge attraction for European tourists, especially the French, and it is authentic enough to attract them in droves. The selections are moderately priced, and well worth it. Altogether it is a lovely respite from the cold winter or summer heat.
I ate the best chocolate eclair of my life!
This tiny little bakery in Dumbo has great sandwiches for lunch. They were closed for four months from flooding during the hurricane but now they are open again. Thank goodness. There are a lot of pastries to choose from but the strength is in the real food. They use specialty meats, fresh breads, and butter for the sandwiches. Totally French.
Great capuccino and pastries but the guy at the counter with a little attitude. I guess is better if you get there early because by 5 pm not a lot of selection, go if you are in the area.
Cakes are so sweet I will say, especially the strawberry one. Was looking for a seat but spaces were limited as well.
Excellent almond croissants here (per the name)
Absolutely amazing and excellent cake. Beautifully decorated. Expensive but well worth it. Will be going back to try other bakery items. They look so good.
Their pastries makes me feel like I’m in France. And the bread like I’m in Germany. Pure delight!
Croissants are average plus. Coffee is average. One more star down for accepting cards from 10+ dollars and unpleasant toilet.
There is good and then there is ridiculously good food! Those almond croissants are an out of body experience. Flat and moist, they are NOT supposed to be plump, crunchy, and dry! I was observing people around me and everyone was absolutely loving what they got. Tempted by the pumpkin bisque I bought some to go, and OMG! Another out of body experience. This place is a food paradise, hope to revisit many times, these guys are making me want to move to Dumbo.
Good coffee, nice flaky croissants. Haven't tried the cookies, but while I was there, a couple people came specifically in search of them! Nice and quiet. Great stop to get out of the sun for a little bit after a day at the park. A bit overpriced, but that was expected.
The chocolate almond croissant is awesome! Will come back again. 10 min charge for credit card.
Delicious French desserts! ❤
We ordered a three tiered strawberry cake for our wedding as well as some dim sum deserts. The cake and deserts were delivered on time and were delicious! The cake and deserts were also very affordable compared to other places we looked at. You can chose from a series of cake decorating styles. We also had our florist add some flowers to create the look we wanted.
Nice bakery with few sweet treat options, pastries, bread and sandwiches. Only a few seating options though
Amazing pastries!
$10 credit card min so I had to buy a lot more than I wanted. I wasn't too impressed with the almond croissant, I've had better at Maison K & Dominique Ansel. The almond croissant tasted really eggy to me, and wasn't very flaky or croissant like on the bottom half. The frangipane wasn't sweet or flavorful. It was okay, I'm sure the other items are amazing but I wouldn't recommend the almond croissant over other places in nyc.
Small cute bakery store in brooklyn.. the salmon quiche was excellent and the eclair was top notch
Small bakery in Dumbo I Brooklyn
Pricey but worth every penny.
Perfect pastries and lunch foods!
Amazing pastries tarts and sandwiches , a neighborhood institution.
11.18.17 - Very cute location with pies for $35, which seems reasonable. Unfortunately we only stopped to see the offerings and we'll have to return to try it.
One of the best place to get French pastries
One of the best French bakeries anywhere in NY in my humble opinion. Also there Anarice!! She is so amazing. She was bombarded by customers and she stayed cool, calm and efficient. You need to go there for a true eclair. Sandwiches are hearty and flavorful. Loved this place!
Fantastic baked goods, particularly like the quiche
One delicious bakery of the city. The french owner knows what he’s doing.
A great place, with wonderful pastries. But the service needs work. They are often understaffed, with 1 server. The result is long & frustrating lines out the door.
This is a great place to sit and catch a break while in Dumbo. We tried to find a couple of seats in the nearby marketplace, but it was way too busy on a Sunday afternoon. We stopped in here, found a table, ordered iced lemon tea and shared a croquet monsieur. It's a small bakery so a party larger than four might find it tough to grab enough seats, but then you can just grab and go! I didn't try the desserts or other baked goods, but the other visitors seemed to like them!
Best chocolate croissant EVER and their passionfruit macaroons are amazing! I think of that place often, I need to go back to NY!
Fresh baked pastries and sandwiches. I really liked the pastries are not greasy or too sweet. We had quiche (excellent) and chocolate croissant (hint of chocolate). Very comfortable atmosphere and reasonable to sit down and relax.
Small bakery with great selection of pastries and cakes. We ordered salmon and broccoli quiche, which was yummy. Eclair was ok, I tried better ones. Strawberry cake was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.
Amazing Cozy Place, everything is very delicious, so you should go several times and follow the excellent suggestions of Francisco he is very friendly and successful in his suggestions .. we will definitely go back!!
This french bakery has the BEST croissants that I have ever tasted!. Every type of croissant...plain, chocolate, almond etc...are the absolute best EVER! Thank heavens that I don't live nearby because this is all irresistible!!
Some of the most delicious halva you'll ever have.
Best baguettes, especially if you get them in the morning- warm & fresh out of the oven. My whole office is obsessed. (The chocolate croissants are amazing, too! :)
They have very good croissants and pastries. The employees are very friendly and it is in a perfect location if you are waiting for the B 25 bus.
