My family ordered my 18th birthday cake from Swiss chalet, back in December. The cake was incredible and the staff was super friendly! We got a white cake with chocolate mousse filling (highly recommend). The cake was so delicious that we decided to go back and order my graduation cake from there as well. Highly recommend this place for their custom cakes and their pastries as well!! Definitely the best in New Jersey.

I have been going to Swiss Chalet for years. The friendly staff and amazing pastries keep me coming back. I always go there to get cakes for special occasions, even though the drive is over an hour for me. I recently got a cake from here for my graduation. It was the best cake I have ever had! It was custom designed by the amazing bakers at Swiss Chalet. It had fudge filling and fresh strawberries on top. Everyone at the party loved it. I will continue to be a loyal customer to this bakery, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a cake for any special occasion.

Great bakery, caring staff and outdoor seating that accepts dogs looking out at a quaint neighborhood. Reasonably priced and portioned breakfast and lunch. Excellent self-serve coffee selection. No one is urging you to hurry up and leave. I really can't ask for more.

What a wonderful bakery from the people down to the cakes. We used them for my babyshower & I'm still getting compliments on how good the cake was. I was excited to stop by my favorite childhood bakery. Took my 10yo to experience and some bakery enthusiast friends. It was a let down. I've gone on & on about these smiley faced cookies...I spent 30$ on baked goods...friends spent a bit more....I happily passed out cookies in the car and boom.....the cookies were super dry and just missing something in the flavor. Then that's all I heard about for the duration of the 3hr ride to get home.

Careful when choosing hazelnut mousse filling for cake. We had a bad experience with nuts(smelled and tasted oil like) used for it. We had tasted the same cake before from same location and it was very good that time. Manager spoke to us and apologized for the inconvenience.

Last year at this time I would have given the Swiss Chalet 5 stars, but over the past few months I have noticed the taste of things change. We have been buying cakes and cookies from here for over 20 years and the buttercream icing (that used to be the best) now tastes completely different. Not nearly as good and really tastes no different than a grocery store cake. Not sure if they switched from real butter to shortening to try and save money, but it is such a disappointment. And the sugar cookies have been a family family favorite for years and just aren’t the same anymore. I can say that we definitely won’t be going out of our way to buy cakes for all our parties from here anymore.

I met a group here for a breakfast meeting. It was the first time here and I was pleasantly surprised! This was a lot bigger than I thought it was! They have an amazing selection of baked goods - and it all looked amazing! Being breakfast time, I chose to have a simple egg sandwich on a bagel with cheese and bacon. It came with a side of awesome tasting potatoes! The only downside was I had to park in the street and feed the meters. I am definitely going back!

I have ordered special occasion cakes from here for years. This time was for a special baby shower. While I was there, I asked about decorated cookies to use as favors, though I had planned to do these. They could do them for next, just as cute, to match the theme, and at a really reasonable price, so, rather than stressing, I let them help me out! They have a new space, very interesting, large enough to handle a good crowd, and fabulous menu. Well worth the stop--you will be delighted!

Lots of deliciousness here. The portions are big, the salads are fresh and there is so much to choose from. I had a delicious salad and some cookies for dessert. I would definitely go back.

We stopped by for breakfast on the way to an early morning meeting. And apart from having some gross flavored coffee in the normal medium roast carafe, everything was pretty good. Basically, it's an upmarket Panera.

Waited for a sandwich for 30 minutes in a virtually empty restaurant. Then when I finally went up to ask for the status of my food, the guy looked through all the tickets, found out he already threw my ticket away, and said “oh yeah it’s almost ready.” So I stood there and watched him start making my “almost ready” food. All in all, waited close to an hour for a sandwich with literally 5 ingredients.

This establishment went above and beyond with courtesy and professionality when I came in with an injury that gave me limited mobility. They went as far as fixing my coffee at the self-service bar to save me the trouble, all the while making feel like an old friend. Their food was fantastic on every occasion I ate there. I'm so glad I can't buy their croissants where I live - I would be a Sumo wrestler. This place is pastry Nirvana.

I had the BEST panini sandwich I've EVER had here. The sweets are also out of this world. EVERYONE (except vegans) NEED to eat here at least once. Just DON'T DO WHAT new and my mother did: I thought I was getting iced tea but we BOTH somehow managed to get ice coffee instead. Even though there's a sign saying "coffee" on it. But really, that's my ONLY criticism of this place. The iced tea machine is RIGHT NEXT TO THE ICE COFFEE SO DON'T DO WHAT WE DID. Very nice staff. AMAZING AMAZING FOOD. EAT HERE AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. YOU WON'T BE SORRY! YUM. I'M STILL thinking of my extremely tasty Panini

My feelings about the baked goods here are mixed. The products are expensive and sometimes you get the most delicious pastry. Other times, the baked goods are not worth the calories. I got macarons today and they were inconsistent in size and except for the blueberry lemon, flavorless. For $3.50 a pastry, so not worth the calories or the money. Very dissapointing.

This is an excellent bakery (and luncheonette). You'll find well crafted pastries, cakes, and pies. I only gave 4 stars because I went for lunch and the experience was stupifying. You're supposed to go to the register, order, then sit anywhere you want and wait to be called when your order is ready. But you'd never know walking in. No instructions that I saw. By the time we figured it out, two parties behind us wound up being served first. Annoying.

This bakery is the BEST bakery I have ever been too , it has a huge delicious selection of baked goods and cakes. This is the type of bakery I would want to go to every morning and have a nice hot cup of coffee and a pastry. Also the service their is amazing and extremely kind and very welcoming to their customers. They give great welcoming smiles every time I walk into the bakery. Their are many lunch selections like hot fresh pizza which was incredible. There is also convenient parking in the back of the bakery. I would definitely suggest if you are passing by this bakery to stop and give it a try.

I have been a religious Swiss chalet eater for about 3 years, and every time I go find something that I like more and more. Nutella croissants are absolutely my go to with a cup of coffee. The staff always give me a warm welcome and the help I need for any events I need a cake for. I look forward to every trip at Swiss chalet. They have extensive and fresh cakes, cookies, breads, donuts, and breakfast & lunch menus. Not to mention a lot of coffee choices with flavored creamers at a very reasonable price. The store is beautiful and plenty of parking in the back and metered parking. Out door seating. Very friendly staff. I'm there every chance I get for ice coffee and cinnamon raisin bun or a breakfast sandwich.

Got my wedding cake from here and loved it the designer made it just the way we wanted. We've also gotten cakes made from here for my nephew's birthdays and they're so clean and minimal exactly what we ask for. We usually get the chocolate mousse cake and it's THE BEST or the lemon creme which is so light and delicious. They have great dessert, and overall the bakery is really nice to be in.

Now I have eaten here many times the food is good. However with that being said people should be aware of what the owners do with the tips of the employees. The place was recently bought out from the original owners. Since than a tip jar has been implemented at the establishment. This in it's self is not a problem normally however, I came to realize that none of the tips go to the employees at all it is all pocketed by the new owners. I am not going to say don't eat here but don't give a single dime to people who take money from their own employees. It is wrong and absolutely unacceptable make the owners aware that we know and it has not gone unnoticed. If you want to tip an employee give your money directly to the individual discreetly. I never write reviews this is my first one in fact but this needed to be said and people had to be made aware.

The café side is really good unfortunately the quality of the baked goods has been on a continuous decline. What once used to a a great trip to the bakery has turned into a disappointment. I've had stale cupcakes and old pasteries. They shouldn't have to coat the top of the cupcakes with a film prior to putting on the icing to keep them "fresh." Sad.

So cute. Whenever a coworker picks up cookies or anything else from the chalet, you can tell it's great quality. I walk over and grab a bowl of macaroni and cheese with a donut every other week or so, and the staff are always very accommodating, attentive and pleasant. Can get a little crowded inside but it's just because everyone knows the chalet is a great spot!

I love this bakery!! When I walk around Morristown I’m always telling my friends to go because their is so much delicious stuff their I never want to leave. We meet their for breakfast on Saturdays. They have a wide selection of different coffee’s and tea’s. They now have strawberry shortcake by the slice which gave me an opportunity to try it. It was undeniably the best strawberry shortcake I have ever eaten. I would definitely recommended this bakery/cafe to others that have not tired it yet.

Our go to for delicious pastries and custom cake orders, Swiss Chalet does a great job of managing weekend crowds and providing a clean, comfortable environment to enjoy irresistible treats. The addition of hot breakfast and lunch options is a welcome one. Great place for the family though during peak times, it might be a little difficult to snag a table.

Hands down the best strawberry shortcake you will find. Not crazy about the Chocolate Moose, but the Strawberry Shortcake is King. There is also a parking lot and a very well organized system for ordering. Would probably give it a four and a half, but don't want to short-change them as everything is always fresh.

The pettifores, lindsor tart and cappuccino I purchased were delicious. As a cannoli lover, these were not my favorite. The cream was too soft and there may have been too much nutmeg or something similar. Everything else was tasty but maybe don't bring these canolis to an Italian family party.

Wow. Literally the only downside of this place is having to make the tough decision of what kind of pastry to bring home. I was overwhelmed by the selection and the cakes are absolutely beautiful not to mention delicious. This was an unexpected find while I happened to be working in the area. I had driven past this place multiple times. Always thinking it was just a bakery. The last time I was over that way I wanted a cup of coffee so I stopped in. The place was really nice. We ordered hazelnut chocolate cake for my kid's birthday yesterday. We already ordered the same cake before so we sent the picture of it and requested it to do the same. But to my disappointment they entire hazelnut mousse was spoiled people who came for party literally had one spoon and left the cake. They didn't even touched the cake after that. We went to swiss chalet in Morristown and informed them. The person who addressed us told this is what their taste is. So we just left that cake their itself and went with heavy heart that we should not come back again. I am surely going to give the same reviews for my friends and colleagues who work with me who regularly orders there. Still now we ordered tiramasu, hazelnut chocolate, redvelvet, pistachios cake. But never ever will come back again to this bakery.

Met a friend for coffee. Upon arrival I noticed the bright decor and the friendly staff. The coffee was fresh and delicious. I will frequent more often.
