I want to start by saying Pinhos has decent tasting cakes and pastries. However I have a huge issue with how they decorated my cake I had a cake made special and simple at the same time. I showed pictures and everything and I explained thoroughly what I wanted and I texted one of the associates specifics so they could refer back to it if needed I just wanted three things done as far as design and they did very poorly on all three of them. It was rushed and sloppy and they completely left out one of the decoration pieces. I was just really bad if I could upload the video below I would. It was really a terrible experience. It just ruined the surprise, completely the recipient of the cake was not excited at all.

On average i go for breakfast or lunch 4-6 days a week I read bad reviews and you must be crazy but some are more then myself. I adore pinho's because it's baked fresh daily. The prices are more then fair. The bakery is delicious but the deli is awesome I just scrolled to get there number call in an order saw 1001 review mixed so 1002 5 stars all the way all of my close friends seem to have a birthday from December to April every week so I order constantly from Keylime Pie to cakes . 30 plus a years so if that tells you anything I am sure they have off days but don't knock this bakery if you want fast food go get it!

I got to say hands down one of the best bakerys in the area. The cakes and breads are just the Icing on the cake. They offer so much other goodies you did not know you needed until you buy them all. I even stop there when I am in the neighborhood and I get a sandwich for lunch. The only time to plan ahead is around the holidays because this place gets mobbed and you wait in long lines. The wait is definitely worth but still you wait.

Worst customer service ever. They treat you like dogs. Food and all is good but they need new staff. They mess up on orders and still blame you even though you have the receipt of what you ordered. Somehow it’s still your own fault that they didn’t get it right. Customer service means a lot more then the food. Last time I’ll be coming here. Better off going to a different place where they are actually kind and care!! Runaway while you can!

Quick service and wonderful team work as long as you are getting something off the shelf. If are looking to celebrate a special event and want a beautifully decorated cake and you are thinking Fondant or Royal Icing sugar even if you present pictures and you give them months notice it's the worst place to go. My cakes were a disaster for my 40th. I said I would never post this but it hurts to this day. Dont get me wrong flavors and taste were fine but do not let these people decorate a specially designed cake for you they can't do it. The can only do butter cream or soft quick styles like your supermarket and will not advise you otherwise. It's still my go to place for pastries etc.

My sister took me and my mother here for lunch and the Cold Sandwhiches were amazing. I ate the ham and Turkey on Portuguese rolls and it was so good! This place is always busy and the desert selections are so many! Seating inside and outside!! Love it here! So friendly! Keep it up!!

Great neighborhood bakery! The natas of course are delicious. They have a wide array of pastries, cakes, cookies, and doughnuts. I love their doughnuts, nothing fancy but taste great. Every pastry I've tried has been awesome. Interestingly, I thought their regular cupcake and chocolate chip cookie were kind of forgettable. They also have a Deli and the breakfast sandwiches are great. When I was pregnant I lived on Taylor ham egg and cheese sandwiches from pinhos. The French toast platter is also good. Lastly, the prices for everything are spot on. All very reasonable.

Disappointed on the TRES LECHES CAKE! This cake was so dry that everyone asked me if it was a yellow cake. It was a big cake for 35 people and I literally cut through the whole cake and found two corners that only had a bit of the soak in the bottom.

Pinho's Bakery has a great selection of freshly baked breads, pies, cakes, and pastries. The display cases are arranged beautifully, showcasing muffins, cupcakes, cookies, and more. Thanksgiving Day was very busy, however, the employees handled the crowds with ease. I always make a stop at Pinho's when I come into town. Thank you Pinho's for all the deliciousness!!

Pinhos (sounds like Pin Yo) has been a staple in the area for decades. I've never had anything remotely bad from them and I've been coming there for over 20 years now. Damn reasonable prices, great selection, and if they don't have what you're looking for they'll do their best to make it. Watched the owner make a cake for a lady that was waiting this Xmas Eve. That's dedication to your business right there.

My 2 stars is based on the pastel de nata and my experience there. I didn't try anything else though it all looked great. I purchased something nearby and the person told me about this bakery and how they claim to have the best custard cakes around... So I drove there and was excited when I arrived. Inside looked similar to the bakeries I grew up with in Portugal, blue and white ceramic tile on the walls, even a tiled picture of a wood burning oven stating made like in the olden days. It was Easter weekend and the place was packed. Since there are various recipes for 'pastéis de nata' I thought of ordering only a few but being Easter weekend I ordered 3 half dozens on 3 separate boxes to give my friends and family. I asked the girl if she understood 'half dozen' since she was taking some time and using large boxes and in the end I walked out with 3 dozens and ended up paying $44!! I heard her say $14 something which seemed cheap for 18 custard cakes, so I gave the credit card. I signed while chatting and outside I realized the mistake... But whatever.... Good pastéis de nata never go to waste. I'll eat 2 for breakfast, lunch, dinner and midnight snack but... These have been the worst I've ever eaten. I apologize for my truth but I guess I have Newark, south river and Portugal bakeries to compare them to and didn't not like them. For me they leave a strong white sugar after taste. This happens to me when I try to make them but I'm not a baker. The shell is not thick crispy/flaky as they should be, but none that I've eaten in the states come out like that, usually they are soft but these felt over buttered, like croissant dough. If you don't know any better I guess these are good because they are still better than donuts or other baked goods that usually exist in super markets. I think I'm more annoyed that I ended up with 36 of these things which I'll donate to Co workers and paid over 40 but won't get to enjoy any. But the cakes, deli, etc all looked good hence the 2 stars.

Every time I order custom cake they always get it wrong. My child 1st birthday cake was caving in 2015. My husband 30th birthday cake wrong cake completely 2018. Today my brother's 40th birthday cake didn't come out as expected. Also they had flies on the bake goods. I let the lady that was standing there who is the manager said "Yeah I know, the door keeps opening and closing."

Pinho's made an outstanding 70th Birthday Cake for a surprise 70th / 70s themed party for my father. It was a number cake with a disco floor, people dancing and a disco ball on top. Everyone loved the 3 layer chocolate and vanilla cake!!! It was moist, with one layer of lemon filling and a second layer of fudge filling. The cake was delicious and the frosting was not too sweet. It was a pleasure working with the patient and knowledgeable young women who took my order....and it was such a relief to find bakers who were able to accomadate my request with only one weeks notice. I highly recommend this bakery for any event!!!

Isn't a better bake shop in the tri-state area!! Wonderful breads...crusty outside..soft and luscious inside. Cakes are out of this world delicious. Have bought sugar free products to take to family events...and everyone is in awe when I tell them " This is all sugarfree". The very best sugarfree cake you will ever eat!!! This has been my go to bakery for all events for over 10 years. No matter where I live I go there for all my cakes and cupcakes. Every single time I just give them an idea and let them work their magic. Im never disappointed! The actual bakers are incredible. My last visit there I was extremely disappointed in one of the workers that took my order and was there at pick up. She was rude and uninterested. Usually there's a warm family feeling here so I was surprised. I wish I got her name, she really shouldn't be there, her attitude would make anyone leave. This place definitely deserves 5 stars but because of that employee, I had to take one away. Her coworkers even looked at her crazy because she speaks to them badly as well. The owners should not compromise their WONDERFUL reputation that they've worked so hard for. Excellent baked goods, just this one bad experience.
