Worst Colombian bakery in Elizabeth/Rosell area. Went to get empanadas and was told that a small spicy container (ají) for every two empanadas and when i asked for more the lady at the register told me no because the owner was there .... should have talked to owner and tell her that what if i was just getting one empanada, the that would mean half of a container? .... my last three trips here have been very dissapointing. Rate 1 out of 5

This Bakery is very clean and has a great variety of typical Colombian pastries and products. The place is always very busy, which is a good sign. You can find the traditional Colombian food in your special holidays, which means you can buy your favorite Colombian Christmas food if you preordered. The owners are friendly, the service is very good and the prices (although they have gone up) are fair for the quality of the food. One thing that really disappoint me (Not just with this bakery but with the majority of the Colombian bakeries in New Jersey, at least) is that they don’t make the “Ají Picante” (Colombian hot sauce) for the empanadas, the way they used to and the way we do it back home; with cilantro, onions, peppers and lemon; served in an earthen pot. Instead, they are using “Tabasco” which is not even a Colombian product. What a disappointment. The second thing I would point at them is that the hot chocolate, again, is not made the Colombian way; beaten by hand (Or a machine, but beaten), instead, they use instant chocolate. Just for these two things, which I believe is what most Colombians go to bakeries for; I’m taking one star away from the review. Otherwise, I’m happy to have a convenient Colombian bakery near me.

My favorite place to get “home cooked” meals. I love their chicharrón most of all, it doesn’t taste like hotdog the way other Colombian bakeries I’ve tried has, their batidas and avenas are bomb and my daughter bought me their dulce de leche covered cake for my birthday. Best cake I’ve had so far ever hands down! And if you know anything about cakes, is that Dominican cake usually trumps all but this one outdid the others. Prices are reasonable and you get a lot of food if you order the special of the day. Awesome sancocho to cure any fleeting cold or hangover and the staff is very nice.

Good little place for a quick Colombian food bite. I only pick up food here. Usually have to wait 5-10 minutes for hot food. Huge variety of baked goods, ethnic and not. Check out the tres leches! Serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but starts to get cramped if you have more than 4 people with you since there is limited dine in space. Street parking is metered. For pickup, I recommend going with someone else if possible so they can drop you off while they look for parking or just go around the block until your food is ready.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I walk here everyday to get coffee and every day I get the same bad attitude from two ladies. This brunette and blonde make it their business to give you attitude if you're not a man. Always flirting with the guys and then they see you, a female, and roll their eyes. I went to get coffee today and asked for black with one sugar. Walked back home to find milk in my coffee. Walked back and asked nicely for another one and also decided to get a croissant since I was there anyway. Got the worst attitude from the brunette. She didn't say sorry, roller her eyes, talked about me to the blonde like I wasn't there and took someone else's order before I could say anything. I will never go back here again. It isn't worth it. I've worked in customer service many years and they constantly give top 5 worst customer service I have ever received.

I would put zero stars !! The owner of Las America's bakery in Elmora ave. In Elizabeth is a racist man! And his wife too! I have met the previous owner and he was a nice man , now this owner and that old lady are people who have no knowledge of being kind and respectful and the workers make fun of people who dont speak spanish as well Basically if you aren't Colombian they will treat you bad and its messed up because their bakery is called las America's, not Colombia bakery. I am not saying because if what happened today, there has been multiple occasions where they have done so and I also found out they sometimes overcharge people who aren't of their ethnic background The thing that makes me angry is that people who own restaurant dont educate themselves the laws they have to follow and it's not just them theres plenty of then People if you get kicked out and you feel that it's because of a racial, gender , religion , etc reason. You have the right to file a complaint and/or sue the restaurant or public place !

We haven't eaten in this bakery in years. They were great when they first opened, but the quality of the food has gone down. It just so happened my husband wanted to try it out again. He ordered some of their pastries and a bread called almojabana. I wanted to give my one year old niece a piece of the almojabana so I opened it in half. And to my disbelief there was a pubic hair inside of the bread! Yes it was a pubic hair! You can tell the difference. Never ever will I return to this bakery. How can one of those hairs end up in your food?? What do the bakers possibly do back there?? Lucky enough for them we were on our way to our trip so there was no way for us to go back and give them a piece of our mind. For now at least I hope this stops someone from going to eat there. No coman aquí. Es una suciedad increíble. Como es posible que al abrir una almojabana había un pelo de la parte privada. Todavía no me lo puedo creer. I love their empanadas and their coffee is amazing totally recommend coming here. The girls are very nice however bring cash because they're minimal for credit or debit is $10 just a tip. Parking is also hard to find since the location is super busy Elmora is always busy so it can be a hassle to find parking and then getting out but hey it's worth getting some good food right.

There is no park, the only speak Spanish. The location is clean but does not go to the bathroom because the ladies who work there give the bathroom keys to other clients. This situation makes you feel embarrassed because they open the door while you are using and people are able to see you. This is just because there are not enough tables and they cannot communicate in English. So if they make you leave they have more space, I saw this same situation a couple of times.

This place use to be good but not anymore, the service is ok, they always have new cashiers/waitress and they don't seem to last long so they are not familiar with the job and they take a long time to get your order ready, they also seem short staffed. This panadería used to be great but the quality of food has drastically decreased . The empanadas are too greasy and the shell is soft which it's supposed to be somewhat crunchy . At 8 a.m the almojabanas and buñuelos are already cold !!! If you want good Colombian food, go to Mi Colombia right across the street to the right.
