The best Dutch homemade baked goods around. Especially love their windmill cookies. The staff is great, and they sell delft blue items as well as other Dutch novelties. This bakery has been there for many years, and never disappoints. Look for the big windmill as you're driving down Rte. 23.

My 1st experience here and I could not be happier. The newspaper clippings on the wall showing their last 70 years at that location really makes you understand the live they have for their craft! Lady behind the counter was rushing the customers and I purchased two of 7 different cookies and pastries. Not one was fresh. All were stale and their apple cider donuts were oily and gummy

The Holland American Bakery is one of my all-time favorites! The staff are super-friendly and ready and willing to answer questions and make certain the customer is satisfied. I go there specifically for their Honey Raisin Cake, and for the Boter Koek (Butter Cake) which is made with almond paste in addition to the butter... it is a decadent indulgence I allow myself once in a great while, and is so, so very, very good! The bakery store also offers many other baked goods, and in addition to that, there are teas, and Dutch pottery and porcelain goods, from tea and coffee sets to knickknacks and collectibles, and many other items. This is a real treat to go there!

Oh Yeah, family run, local owners, and great donuts. They are always polite, and the goodies are always fresh. In a way I wish I drove past here more often so I could eat more donuts, but, it is good that I don't or I would not fit in the door soon. If you want good donuts, this is the place to go. Forget about the new junkin donuts next door.

Whenever I am visiting family in northern New Jersey I have to stop in the Holland American Bakery to get some sweets. But it is so hard to just pick up a cake or pie, I need a little more. My grandson's like the brownies, my son-in-law likes the chocolate chip cookies, and the crumb cake is just like I had as a young girl. We also picked up a cake, chocolate with chocolate buttercream, so good. And the service you get in there is also excellent.

Quality : Excellent - the baker lives in a house attached to the place. He knows his craft and does it with a level of perfection sticking to what he knows best. Good old fashioned donuts, pies, cookies and breads. Prices: Again, excellent. Cheaper than the chain for far superior quality. Character: They give back to the community and practice what they preach. There is a reason they are packed every weekend. And do not fear this, they move quickly but courteously and are oh so friendly.

Good food but girls that work there are super unfriendly. I’ve been going there for years since I live around the corner and I spend a lot of money there cause there isn’t slot else going on in the area and I am from Finland so I appreciate the food. But at this point I’ve made up my mind neither I nor my family will be going there anymore. They treat people With fairer skin nicer than they do me. And I’m Finnish but a Sámi so I have a distinct look. I’ve seen them be super friendly to American ladies and then they look at me and won’t even say you’re welcome when I say thank you. They just give me my food and are never polite.

My boss often brings in a box of donuts from Holland American on Saturday mornings and they're always so fluffy and delicious. The apple fritters are AMAZING. I'm salivating just thinking about them. Everything there is great. The absolute best linzer tarts that I have ever had! Huge selection of almond desserts that are great as well. If you like licorice, they have a large assortment, but be careful some are very pungent and some are salty. I have never been let down by any of their products. Definitely check it out!

Just the fact that they were the only bakery who would make my sons 7th birthday cake in a few hours notice gives them 5 stars. My son told me the morning of his birthday what cake he wanted. It was oddly specific (2 cherries, 2 Oreos, 2 edible American flags), but they made it without question. ON TOP OF THAT, it was CRAZY good!!!! Possibly one of the best birthday cakes I’ve had. I bought some of their other stuff too and everything was a hit! Worth the drive and VERY reasonable prices. Really really good place.

My husband got a gluten free cake for my birthday it was beautifully decorated but completely inedible, I am so happy we did not have company we threw it out. I cannot believe any bakery would allow something of such poor quality to leave their store. If you can't provide a quality product you should not sell it. I am ompletely disappointed and will never go here again.

My husband and I found this place purely by chance while on a road trip. What a gem! Not only is the store itself beautiful and staffed by lovely, kind people, but the baked goods are truly sublime! Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. Plus, prices are quite reasonable. We loved it so much that we've even ordered items from them since returning home from our road trip. Yes, they deliver! And the quality is just as good! Everything is carefully packaged and quickly shipped to ensure maximum freshness. The Linzer tarts are my absolute favorite... They are out of this world delicious!!!

My family has been to this bakery many times, and we've never been disappointed. There is a pretty good selection and we've tried A LOT of it. I highly recommend the linzer tarts, cronuts, cupcakes, apple turnovers and cheese danish. Just don't go on Sunday because they close for religious reasons. Oh, and everybody who works there is courteous and helpful.
