I like the atmosphere. The handwritten menus are clearly displayed on very cool stylish chalkboards. The service was slow, but very kind and attentive. The bakery items look great but nothing tastes as fresh as I was hoping for. The cold brew was definitely not fresh but had a bitter, bottom-of-the-barrel, taste to it. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this location again but I'm willing to give it another shot if I'm near by since the service was pleasing.

My go-to bakery in Somerville. The baked goods are delicious. Their espresso is also very good. Good selection of lunches and dinners. My only criticism is that the everything bagels are strange and I don't really like them.

I like my coffee sweet. My iced coffee came without any sweetener and when asked for sugar syrup, I was showed the packet sugar. Sugar doesn't dissolve quickly into iced coffee. Didn't enjoi my coffee ! Should have just gone to Starbucks or Dunkin on same street ...

This place offers the best peanut butter cookies. You get breakfast food all day here and it definitely is worth the visit. Favorite menu item is the octopus salad . Tacos are pretty good too. Don't forget to order a drink . They offer smoothies and shakes . Nothing beats a good ole shake and burger combo.

Bacon eggs and cheese on a roll... The bread used wasn’t very good. As a whole it was just a very blah experience. Could’ve made one ten times as good at home. Chicken/Pork tacos... Fiancé ordered this and when I asked her how it was her response was a “meh” and a shoulder shrug. I tried the chicken in it and realized her response couldn’t not have been better. Meatless grilled cheese... For my one year old, he loves grilled cheeses and he spat this one out. Cheese barely melted, Bread unimpressive.. ever have a Panera grilled cheese? If not try one, then go here, and I’d be surprised if you didn’t have a straight up Gordon Ramsay reaction. Side notes Positive: they don’t skimp on napkin or plastic silverware quality. More negatives: don’t think the baby seat has been wiped down or cleaned in any manner in maybe about a year. Saving grace?: didn’t try their coffee or baked goods. This is the only i didn’t give it a one star. Figure that just isn’t fair after judging them by food that isn’t directly related to their actual name, “Cafe and Bakery”

Went to shop about a week ago. It was very busy. Everything seemed very disorganized with several people running around behind the counter. Customers were waiting a long time for their orders. I saw two customers have to ask for their orders which had been sitting on the back counter. They were supposed to be to go but had been prepared on plates and had to be repackaged. After waiting about 20 minutes I asked what was taking so long. They could not find the paper slip for the order and had to call it back up on the computer. 30 minutes to get a bacon and egg sandwich and It was just mediocre. Other reviewers gave good comments, but they must have gone at a slow time because the just can't handle a crowd.

The place wa hopping when I arrived. They have such a vast menu with so many different things to choose from. My visit was specifically for the Bakery to order the Boston Creme donut. With such a variety in the menu, I was not expecting much and that what was delivered. A donut costs $1.50. The Boston Creame had great presentation but is lacked a lot of the filling. The Donut itself was hard, more like a specialized pastery. The chocolate was good, but the donut needed more creme for sure. Cannot speak on anything else, which all looked appetizing, would have to try another time. Good not great donuts, but I would go back for another try.

It's not bakery in the traditional sense. Yes, it has some pastries, cookies and small cakes etc. It's real strength is as an eatery/cafe. Great daily soup specials, sandwiches and grill items all served on/with great fresh baked bread and rolls. Great for lunch, late breakfast sandwich (they don't open early) or evening sweet and cappuccino. It is a bit pricey, but you're not going to go there for a deal.

The food is simple and delicious. I love coming here and getting soup and grilled cheese! Everything taste so fresh! If you need a comparison, think Panera, but local homey. The fresh desserts are to die for, including their donuts!

I ordered a grilled cheese supreme (which is diastole to come with bacon) on a ciabatta roll. About 15 minutes later I got a sandwich of semi melted cheese on a miniature French baguette with none of the supreme fixins. Unfortunately my order was to go so I didn't realize the mistake until I had left. Admittedly, the bread itself was good.

The food is very good, but the customer service seriously lacked the last 2 times that my co worker and I placed an order for delivery.The 1st time I placed an order and requested a delivery, I was not informed that there wouldn't be any one available until I called back to check the status of my order an hour later. I was told that a delivery could only be made if the app was used. The 2nd time, my co-worker placed an order for delivery, using the app and once again, we were waiting for the food to arrive for over an hour until my coworker called to check on a status and he was advised that our order was cancelled because there was no one available for delivery! The issue that we have was the lack of communication on the restaurant's part because we should have been notified of this both times.

Great little cafe that would fit in a hipster town in Maine or Princeton as easily downtown Somerville. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, coffee and a Boston cream donut which were all excellent. I would easily give a 5 star rating except the tables were sticky and dirty. The place was fairly empty when I came in so not sure why so dirty. If this proves an anomaly on future visits I will consider changing to .

I came here when we were walking around Somerville and wanted a coffee. Stumbled upon Conlin's Bakery and Cafe and we are very glad we did. We had a lemon poppy scone, the lemon tart, and the chocolate mousse and all of them were VERY good. Freshly baked and very nice people working here. Definitely would not choose a chain over this place. Tons of seating, friendly helpful employees and great coffee. I had a latte and it was one of the best I've had!
