BUYER BEWARE. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. Was told a price for a dozen decorated Christmas cookies. Upon arriving to pick up cookies, the price was increased by 8.00... WOW.. ! A dozen cookies were 40.00 !! I paid, got them home, they were stale, hard as a rock ! Never been so disappointed. They were meant to take to a party. No WAY... I was taking those... I will never go back there.

Normally my go to spot once or twice a week for ice coffee and a scone on my way to work. We ended up using Benson‘s for a breakfast catering option for an event. Their breakfast pizza and homemade donuts were a huge hit! Thanks again and keep up the great work.

I heard about Benson's getting their new pizza oven and being a pizza aficionado, I was excited to try it out. I checked the schedule on their website for Sunday and arrived in between the hours advertised. Turns out the owner was catering an event elsewhere and is the only one that knows how the oven works. Long story short, I drove 25 minutes with the wife and baby for no reason what so ever. If you're not offering a certain product at the times advertised, you should edit your website. Maybe teach someone else how the pizza oven works also. Prosciutto's in Londonderry was great though!

Benson's Bakery, Cafe, & Bar is delightful! A wonderful assortment of things to eat and drink. Try their Apple, Goat Cheese, and Bacon Crepes that are drizzled with honey; you'll think you've gone to heaven. Not a huge place, but they have some of the best things available.

Went to Benson's because I was craving a Whoopie Pie. They had two sizes so I choose the large one. When I got to my table and TRIED to eat it was really really hard. I was able to get a little piece after I got a fork and knife to cut it out. The lady explained to me that they are refrigerated and take about 30 minutes to thaw. So why, do they sell it to be eaten right there on the spot? I was able to exchange for a cupcake that was $0.75 cents lower in price but she didn't even bother to refund me. If you think you're going to this bakery to get something fresh and moist think again, turn around and go to your local supermarket. I would've been happier with a devil cake out of the vending machine.

No working wifi, I called beforehand to make sure there was wifi, arrived, bought a tea, only to find i couldn't connect via phone or computer. Tea was excellent and barista friendly but given I came specifically to do some work on my computer I was not too happy with this cafe. No effort was made to say fix the connection or refund me for the tea. Inside it is cute and comfortable but not a place to come if u really need wifi.

Friendly young lady behind the counter, but my fig bar reeked of stale coconut oil and was inedible. My friend's cinnamon coffee roll didn't taste like anything. Not cinnamon and not buttery. No taste at all. That got tossed as well. How they rate 4.7 stars from 107 reviews is a mystery. Once again...I am completely disappointed in a bakery in the U. S. A.

We ordered a birthday cake for my sons fourth birthday from Benson’s, and let me tell you, it is NOT EASY finding a delicious vegan cake...actually it’s quite impossible. Not only was this cake absolutely delicious, but it was decorated so perfectly for our Toy Story theme I almost shed a tear when cutting into it. We ordered a vegan chocolate cake with cookies and cream frosting, and our guests at the party could not stop raving about how incredible it tasted. They couldn’t tell it was vegan and honestly neither could we! The owner was extremely helpful and kind when figuring out what we wanted for my sons cake, and it surely exceeded our expectations. We will be ordering all our cakes in the future from this bakery, and I suggest you do as well!!

Benson's Bakery & Cafe serves an excellent breakfast and lunch as well as fine coffee and specialty coffees like lattes, cappuccinos, espresso, etc. They also feature a refrigerated display of beverages, salads, sandwiches and parfaits for an on the go quick meal. The bakery features four women who take great pride in their craft... decorative cakes of various sizes, cup cakes, cake pops, eclairs, macaroons, brownies, peanut butter brownie bars, triple berry bars, lemon squares... the list goes on and on. AND I am the lone person who lives above all of this. My apartment always smells most wonderful. I have absolutely no need for Yankee Candles!

Good cookies and bars. However, the buttercream is missing butter and the whipped cream is missing cream. The buttercream taste like shortening and sugar. Not sure what the whipped cream is, other than not good. The cupcake I got my son was not as good as the supermarket bakery cupcakes. What a disappointment! I will be sticking with other bakeries in the area (Salem).

We ate lunch here for the first time today. The wraps were delicious, and the staff was very friendly. We also stopped on our way home later in the day to take some pastries home, and we weren't disappointed! They were worth it. The restaurant itself is a little small, so during busy times it can be a little stuffy when it's hot outside, but even so, everything else makes up for it.

We have been ordering cakes and pastries from Benson’s for years now. From elaborate themed cakes to simple cupcakes it’s all amazing and very moderately priced. We recently had a child who was sick right before a planned birthday and we had to push the party out. The team at Benson’s worked with us and made the cake again for us. They have allergy friendly options and Vegan offerings as well.

Service is always fast, and the girls at the checkout are always nice and friendly. Pastries are the best in the area, and every time I try thinking that prices could be lower, I stop myself right away, because I know that when I go to Boston, I pay way more for something that's worth less. My husband and I spoke recently how this location was considered somewhat unlucky until Emily opened her business here, and now no one remembers anymore that just until recently Benson's hasn't been a neighborhood staple. What a wonderful transformation made within such short period of time... thank you, Emily, for making your dream come true!

Unfortunately my experience was thru what was received for my Birthday by my husband. He wanted to make everything special, asked me what kind of cake I would like, and I replied a Black Forest Cake, because I love cherries! So, he chooses your bakery to order my cake, ask to order a Black Forest Cake, and instead of just telling him I’m sorry we don’t make those, in turn you said well we can’t make it with cherries, but we can make if with raspberries????? Really, a bakery....and you tell him with raspberries, anyone who bakes knows it would be with cherries.....Now of course he’s not sure, doesn’t really know what it’s suppose to look like, confused and feeling overwhelmed he says okay, because you’re the bakery, you would know. Now this is where the poor customer service has played into this whole experience, why didn’t you just tell him sorry we can’t accommodate you, and recommend a place that can, rather then trying to make the SALE, then you would have a happy repeat customer. He was so upset when he picked up the cake (already paid for in advance) covered with raspberries, no another mislead statement, there were a few raspberries and then to put the icing on the cake (no pun intended), my name was misspelled!!! So, unfortunately he and myself are disappointed and won’t return. Had you just told the truth in the beginning, we probably would be a repeat customer for your honesty rather than just making a SALE!

Today was my first visit with a friend and it was honestly the BEST! My friend and i were looking for a cafe that was open late to just have a coffee and chill out and we found so much more here! We ended up getting dinner because we were hungry and they serve meals here! Their pastries are DELICIOUS and they have such a wide variety of flavors for their drinks too! I asked our community board who has the best donuts. Bensons was mentioned several times. One early Sunday morning we took the drive to the next town over to get a taste. The place is cute and has a decent parking lot. We were slightly disappointed by small selection of donuts, but I have to respect that they know what sells. We got glazed and cinnamon sugar - both of which were yummy. P.S. discount if you pay in cash.

This place is amazing!! Their pastries are absolutely incredible and their breakfast and lunch options are delicious. I usually get an egg, pesto, tomato, and feta sandwich on a bagel(which is so good!) but today I got a wrap with grilled chicken, feta, strawberries, and mixed greens! Let me tell you, it was amazing! They always give you good size portions and they always use the freshest ingredients. This place will never disappoint you! Even the environment of the cafe is very warm and cozy!

What a great custom cake I got today from Benson’s Bakery & Cafe today for my sons 3rd birthday! I gave them a few things I wanted to be in the cake and they really capitalized! Not only did this Toy Story cake look amazing it was absolutely delicious!!!! 4-layers that were rich in flavor with delicious buttercream frosting! This place has a great friendly and inviting staff as well to go along with their beautiful cakes

UNIMPRESSED!! My husband ordered me a birthday cake from here. We have never tried any of their food so we ordered from here based on the reviews. We were unimpressed and tossed half of the cake. We got a funfetti cake with chocolate cream filling and frosted on the outside in a vanilla buttercream. The cake was dry and hard and had little to no flavor. It kind of tasted like a cornbread. You could tell they baked the cake a few days(it actually seemed like weeks due to how dry it was)earlier and then froze it. The vanilla buttercream just tasted like sugar and shortening. No vanilla flavor at all, no heavy cream to whip it and make it smooth and fluffy. And it had way too much sugar. Buttercreams are usually fluffier than that and creamier. This was really hard and grainy. Frosting from Pilsbury and similar companies that you can buy in a can at the grocery store are better than what was on our cake. The only good part was the chocolate cream filling. The two stars are for the service. They had good service. We were just unimpressed with the cake and threw half of it away. Kinda disappointing after paying $33 for a cake that nobody enjoyed. RESPONSE TO OWNER: I appreciate the response and I wasn't trying to be nasty. Just letting others know what the cake tasted like so they know and can decide if they wanna try it out for themselves. The cake actually sat out for several hours before we tried it so the buttercream could soften and it still didn't. I make several cakes a year for friends and family and holidays and I also use pure bourbon vanilla extract(Nielsen-Massey) in my buttercream so I would definitely know and be able to taste it on the cake you made for us. I'm sorry we didn't call to complain, we didn't think it was worth it. My husband picked up the cake around 1-1:15pm and it was for my birthday party and we and our guests didn't eat the cake until 9pm(it sat out at room temperature since he brought it home so for about 7.5 hours.) By the time we ate it you were closed and couldn't do anything for us. And we wouldn't want a credit and have to buy something else since we didn't like this cake. My review was for the taste of the cake which in our opinions wasn't anything special. But you guys do have excellent customer service and it shows in your response to me. The cake was also decorated nicely, just the taste wasn't what we were expecting.

I love this place! The staff is always super friendly and sweet. They have vegan options and have recently started labeling all vegan and gluten free bakery items! I live for the triple berry bars. Also, not only are the baristas very friendly but if you go there enough they will remember you of course. I accidentally ordered a latte and forgot to ask for soy milk like I usually do. The barista went to made the drink and must have remembered because she looked at me and said "did you mean soy milk?!". I'm so glad she caught that! This place is great.

We hit this place regularly on the weekends. They have a great selection of coffees and teas (for a next level pick-pick-me-up, check out the colossus). As far as the food goes, you really cant go wrong. Offerings range from donuts and bagels, to cake pops and blondies, to breakfast and lunch sandwiches...and its ALL fantastic. Forget dunks and support the locals. Then take your food to go and eat at bensons park (typing this review from a bench overlooking the pond now).
