It was great seeing people not able to help themselves and going back for more. Both cakes were beautiful and the service was quick and helpful. I’m extremely glad I found this bakery! Ordered 30 cupcakes over the phone for a baby shower and just requested 12 of them be piped to look like woodland creatures. We were very pleased with the results. The cupcakes were both delicious and super cute! I appreciate them taking a phone order where I really didn't know exactly what I wanted and producing a perfect compliment to our shower theme. I have always loved this place and referred many because of the delicious and beautifully made cakes. However, today I came in to pick up my son’s birthday cake and he had to go to the restroom because it was an emergency and they would not allow him to. Only 18 and older can use the restroom apparently. When I called to speak to a manager someone up front rudely laughed and put me on hold. He ended up having an accident in the car. I am extremely upset that there are not restroom accommodations for everyone! I will not be coming back or referring anyone to Cake Gallery. Very disappointed.

The process hit a couple issues after ordering and paying for our wedding cake. The picking a cake, ordering, and paying process was very smooth. The person we dealt with was great. 1) Some reason Cake Gallery thought the date was earlier. They called us a couple times about delivering the decorations way earlier then we discussed when placing the order. After we contacted them, the Cake Gallery corrected the wrong date. 2) The next issue was when we dropped off some decorations for the cake, the lady at the counter was gruff asking for the name. She didn't clarify bride or groom. This caused wasted time and confusion. We say groom's last name. After some time passes, she comes back saying she can't find it and rudely says she needed the bride's last name like we should have known. We give her this. After a while she comes back with the WRONG ORDER. Then after more searching in the back, they do find the correct order under the groom's name and take the decorations. I am sure the cake will be great and verified the week of the delivery that we were still on the same page but the internal communication/external customer service needs some improvement. == UPDATE == When we went to pickup the cake, a person in front of us was given the WRONG CAKE. It took awhile for the clerk to realize the lady wasn't kidding. The clerk went into the back and after some time cake out with the correct cake. We were given the correct cake but not mints. Being our wedding day and a long drive, we didn't notice the mints were MISSING. Cake was great but seems they need a better system for tracking and giving orders out.

My husband and I had our wedding cake from Cake Gallery and it was absolutely perfect. It is pretty hard to please two chefs, but Cake Gallery was up to the task. I would highly recommend their marble cake with Bavarian cream filling. The butter cream from looked incredible and the whole cake was gorgeous. Thank you Cake Gallery!

The most horrible experience ever. I called Saturday morning to ask if a cake could be done for Saturday evening or Sunday pick up. They said it would be ready by 3 pm. They asked for my name and what was the theme. As I was trying to mention that my wife loved flowers with butterflies, the lady on the phone interrupted and asked what color. I said since my wife just recently found out she is cancer free I would like a pink color scheme but I wanted a breast cancer survivor ribbon that would stand out. Quickly she asked if that was all and I said yes. I felt rushed on the phone. I get there at 3 pm and there was no butterflies. I asked about them and noticed there was no breast cancer survivor ribbon on the cake either. She showed me small ones on the side of the cake and I said that on the phone I mentioned I wanted it to stand out. She took it back and came back saying they would keep the ones they have the same but place a piece of ribbon in the shape of the breast cancer ribbon on top. I said well I was hoping it would be edible and she picked up the cake, shaking her head and rolling her eyes. When I got the cake back. All the flowers were completely wiped off the top, a huge ribbon was on the top and a few small flowers on the side with a butterfly. The cake icing then was lumpy and looked like something that could have been done at home, literally. I had stayed long enough and did not feel like changing anything else but as the lady was taping the box, I asked her if she had ever had breast cancer. She said “nope”, so I responded that I pray she never does, because as much fighting as my wife has been going through , she wouldn’t appreciate someone rolling their eyes and shaking their head over a ribbon that symbolizes hope for life. All she could say to me is “yep”. I will not be going back, and I will continue to spread my experience with as many as I can. There are too many other bakeries to choose from than to be treated like that.

Poor service. I ordered a half sheet birthday cake and specifically stated that I didn't want to have to refrigerate it. When I picked it up I was told the frosting needed refrigeration. I told I was in a hotel and didn't have one. Did they offer to do anything? No. Also, the top of the cake very disappointingly plain.

Run, don't walk to this cute, small bakery. Its location is in a shopping strip and the decor and building could be updated a bit. That portion seems run down. HOWEVER....the staff and bakers good are TOP notch! This is hands down, my favorite place to buy treats and cakes. Every single time I've ordered or popped in, they are well stocked on treats and goodies!

My family is from Raymond, MS and traveled to Omaha for the CWS this past weekend. It was also my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary and my grandmothers birthday. We wanted to get a cake for both occasions but figured it would be a bad idea to travel over 13 hours in the middle of June with 2 cakes. So my sister found The Cake Gallery online and called and ordered the 2 cakes. Not only was ordering and pick up of the cakes super simple but the cakes were SPECTACULAR. We ordered a white cake with white icing for the 50th anniversary cake as well as a German chocolate cake for my grandmothers birthday. They decorated both cakes phenomenally. The white cake was ordained with this beautiful 50th gold cake topper as well as having gold icing and and edible gold leaf sprinkled on top. The German chocolate cake was decorated more simply but just as elegant. Also, I was traveling in a day later than my family so they had the shop wrap the boxes of the cake to keep it moist for when we celebrated. Not only was the cake beautiful but THEY BOTH WERE ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Both cakes were super moist and the German chocolate cake was to die for. I am going to recommend this place to all of my friends who are going to Omaha in the future. Thank you Cake Gallery for making my grandparents day and my grandmothers birthday so special!

Naomi was awesome! However, buying my wedding cake didn’t start that way. I made the mistake of trying to save a few dollars by going to a home baker. At first, the baker seemed nice, but after several frustrating attempts of trying to get her to call me back, I gave up. Really, who treats people and runs their business like that? After that terrible experience, I’m so glad I called “The Cake Gallery.” I can’t imagine a better experience. Naomi was personable, passionate, and made ordering my wedding cake a breeze. My fiance wasn't able to attend the cake testing with me, so she sent me home with 4 samples for him to try, it was so thoughtful. When I requested fresh flowers on my cake and took the flowers to Naomi, so arranged them beautifully and my cake was not only gorgeous but tasted phenomenal!!! If I could give a 10-star review I would.

I have tasted the cakes before and they are decent. The reason I am giving this place two stars is because of their customer service. I am getting married so I am searching for a baker. I live out of state and was going to be in town and wanted to arrange tastings. I called the The Cake Gallery twice during business hours and the phone rang without anyone answering. I then sent a message to a contact I found on the website. I think it was the owner. He responded saying someone named Naomi would get back to me. She never did. I have decided to move on...clearly they do not need or care about my business.

I just want to say I am not happy that I wanted to eat the entire thing.I picked up a fresh strawberry torte with champagne filling. Oh my. It should be illegal ! We all loved it. Even my son whom is not normally a cake fan. Thank you for the extra 10lbs I will gain from this . It is so worth it . No special occasion needed for this cake. When you go to a professional you expect perfection. This was a very important day and you all made me look like a fool. Half the people at the party wanted to know what it was suppose to be. It was suppose to be a golf course but it looked more like my 5 year old granddaughter decorated the cake. When I picked the cake up there was no time to change it. How could a full sheet cake be completely changed when it was a total disaster! I was in shock I was expecting it to look like a golf course but that was not what I got. I was going to go back for Christmas cookies and coffee cake but now since this disaster I will not. Our friends and family use you to do cakes and cookies unfortunately, you probably wont get there business anymore at least for your cake decorating. Very embarrassed for you!

VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE !!!!! - My family has used The Cake Gallery for years. This time I went to order a cake for an anniversary party 4 days before I was to pick up the cake. I had already viewed their website pictures and had decided on which decorating style I wanted. The store’s iPad was used to point out the correct style by number and even discussed the flower colors. The information was written on my order sheet, along with chocolate fudge frosting between the layers and the type of frosting to be used. This was confirmed at least 3 times. I arrived to pick up the cake at the scheduled time agreed upon (which was 3 hours before the party started). Upon being shown the cake, it had a design that was never even discussed and was unacceptable. I was told it would take 20 minutes to redecorate the cake. Before they took the cake away I asked if there was chocolate frosting between the layers and was assured there was. Again the style number of the decoration was visually and verbally confirmed. After The Cake Gallery realized they were unable to get the redecorate completed in 20 minutes, they offered to bring the cake to the restaurant where the party was being held. After dinner was completed, the server brought out the cake. I was shocked to see decorations resembling a birthday cake and again not the number or style I had ordered. Also it should be noted I paid a premium decorating charge. The guests at the party and others in the restaurant seemed underwhelmed at the look of the cake. It certainly did not match the style I ordered. As the guests of honor sliced the cake, I could immediately tell that chocolate fudge icing was not used between the layers. Again, lied to by The Cake Gallery!!! as I confirmed the order, saw it written on my order and checked again when I first came to pick up the cake! Really, how many times do you have to tell them before they get it right????? The Cake Gallery clearly has lost it’s concern and professionalism that it has been known for in the past. Or maybe worse yet is they just don’t care that every cake is perfect for each and every customer. They seem to not care that the cake is a highlight of a celebration and when things go so VERY wrong, they are responsible, not the customer. I did receive a meager $10 discount, but had to ask for one on their mistakes!

I am giving this place 1 star because their cakes do taste good but their customer service and communication are terrible. I ordered a unicorn cake for my daughters birthday. It was a 3 layer round cake with vanilla mousse filling. When I ordered I specified fondant and even talked with them about how they make their fondant. I paid almost $100 at time of order believing I was getting a fondant cake. What I received was cute but not fondant. I called and told them and also mentioned there were no flowers in the unicorn hair which I also asked for. They told me I was paying for the fondant on the ears and horn (ice cream cone wrapped in fondant). So I paid an extra $30 dollars. They told me it takes over an hour for the fondant work. I'm sorry but I have been a cake decorator and know that's not true. The only reason I didn't make this cake myself was a time issue. I told them I would have never agreed to pay $30 for just a icecream cone and two little ears but they did nothing to rectify the situation. If I knew this I would have made the horn and ears myself. Be careful when you order and make sure you know exactly what you are supposed to be getting.

LOVED the way our son's first birthday cake and smash cake turned out yesterday for his birthday! Staff is very nice, the cake was moist and great as it should be! Can't say anything bad about my experience, there were a few hiccups in the process but in the end it still turned out great. Definitely will recommend The Cake Gallery and come here every time we need a cake for any occasion!

we've gotten cakes here twice on special occasions and both times were very and my boys said it was the best cake they've ever had in their entire life. The strawberry and creamcheese layer cake out of the case is our favorite. There is always about 10 to 12 customers in the store every time we go. Yesterday we got a cake for her granddaughter's first birthday and they gave us a free smash cake and wrote her name on both cakes for free.

If I could give them -5 I would. I ordered two tier cake ( base on a picture from their website) and today when we go to pick the cake up it’s ONE flat cake !!!! The solution from their lovely manager is to make the cake two tier tomorrow BUT my daughter’s first birthday is TODAY!! Oo and pay more money!!! What a joke! Worst customer service ever!!! Please save your money and the headache get your cake somewhere else! If you order from The Cake Gallery talk to least couple of people to make sure your order is right! So disappointed they messed up our cake will never recommend

My family has ordered cakes from The Cake Gallery for years, so my husband and I knew we wanted to talk to them while planning our wedding. We met with Naomi for our consultation and tasting and were immediately impressed. Naomi was patient with our indecisiveness and provided many images for inspiration. When we finally found some inspiration pictures, she put together a plan for us to get a beautiful design in the flavors that we wanted while also taking our budget into account. On the day of the wedding, The Cake Gallery did not disappoint. The delivery drivers arrived promptly and quickly arranged the cakes that we had ordered. They were so fast that we did not notice them even though our ceremony was at the same location! At the reception, our cake was exactly the design that we had wanted and tasted absolutely delicious. Even the leftover cake tasted good the next morning. We could not be more pleased with our wedding cake from The Cake Gallery!

Nothing special though. What I really like from their store is zebra bars. I would recommend them to everyone. The ladies who take orders are not very friendly though, in my opinion. I felt like they are tired of talking to/working with customers. I had a feeling they have no enthusiasm to answer any of the questions customers may have about ordering/choosing the right cake. I also emailed Mr. Otto with a few questions, but never got any reply.

The Cake Gallery did our wedding cake and it was a custom job (naked sides, berries on top); it was done amazingly well. Everybody loved the cake so much so that there was none left after our wedding. We had to buy more cake for our first anniversary; Naomi remembered us from the full year before and we received amazing customer service in the most compassionate way possible. The cake was spectacular the second time around too! Just do yourself a favor and go with The Cake Gallery!

I love The Cake Gallery!!!! it has been 19 years since my first visit and can not go any where else. i hear about all the new bakeries around town and the old ones that have great reviews. will have to say i have wasted a lot of money and never finished a cake from another place. i got married on 01/18/2011 and there was no thought of where to go. the staff was so helpful and and fun to work with we didnt have a appointment and the staff still welcomed us and spent hours with us while we made our order. our cake was delivered on time and was exactly how we ordered it. i order a cake about every 2 weeks and enjoy everyone. i always recommend them to everyone that ask. i thank the staff for all the great service and cant wait till my next cake on 12/01/2012

Angela did my 25th Wedding anniversary cake. It was amazing! They made a custom color and did silver designs on the cake that were breath taking, as well as a raspberry mouse filling that was incredible. If you want something your friends and family will love and remember, this is the place to go! Great staff and talented cake artist! Everyone raved about how delicious it was and the design was stunning. I recommend the Cake Gallery to anyone needing a special cake for a special occasion!!!

All I wanted was a 12" chocolate cake covered in chocolate frosting. No decoration. No fancy design. I told them that I was going to decorate it myself. No need to put anything on it. Just frosted. My husband goes to pick it up. Sends me a photo. It has sprinkles and cream dollups on top. I talked to someone on the phone and told them that I did not want any decoration. Just plain covered in chocolate frosting. She asked it I just wanted poured chocolate over it. Sounds good. When I get home, the chocolate was poured on top and some spilled over the sides, but half of the side of the cake has no frosting. So 20 minutes to closing time on Halloween, I drive all the way there to ask them to fix it. The lady in charge was rude and had very poor customer service. And, since they had to use extra chocolate to fix it, I had to pay $5 extra (For cakes I had already spent $70 for) Because she said that I didn't specify that I wanted all of the sides frosted. I had also bought a smaller 7" cake so that I could put on top. When I ordered it, I specifically asked her if they could put the cake on a 7" circle so that the cardboard did not show, as I was making these into a tiered cake. They put it on an 8". And when I asked if they could give me a 7" circle so that I could transfer it myself, she charged me a dollar for it. Whatever. Five bucks is five bucks, but your customer service sucks! First and LAST time I will ever step foot in your cake gallery.
