I was nearly in tears when I picked up my 3 year olds cake.....they were thoughtful...kind...and delivered a cake that everyone said it was the best cake they'd had. A friend brought this gorgeous cake to a Halloween party I threw, and the cake was all anyone talked about for weeks. Everything but the black roses was edible, even the little “tombstone.” Not only was this cake BEAUTIFUL, but it was incredibly delicious. It disappeared immediately after everyone was done taking pictures of it. Truly a work of delicious, delicious art.

Linda at Butterfly Bakery was awesome! My husband-to-be and I walked in to her shop with a very rough idea of what we wanted for our wedding desserts. We described the vintage theme and barn location of our fall wedding and she was quick to suggest a simple three tier cake with a vertical fondant barn siding look. It was beautiful!! Simple, elegant, and perfect for our wedding. (AND three amazing flavors!! chocolate with chocolate ganache, vanilla with raspberry, and pumpkin with cream cheese) Being more of a pie girl myself, we compromised and did both! :) Linda was more than amazing with the pies. I wanted the 'look' as well as the flavor and she agreed to bake the pies in vintage pie plates we provided. Talk about over the top! She delivered 12 pies in three flavors - pumpkin, apple, and cranberry pear. Our guests went crazy over them! I didn't even get to try the pumpkin...so that's probably a good sign. Book Linda for your wedding, she will not disappoint. For our 150 guests, we had a plethora of incredible desserts delivered on time and at a reasonable price.

I really like their cupcakes. However, last time I was there. The cupcakes were very hard and dry. They might have kept them in the fridge overnight or something. I was a little disappointed.

I've ordered a birthday cake and a graduation cake here. I went in with just a few descriptors detailing what I wanted and the resulting cakes were very well done. The cake was delicious and the decorating was impeccable. Everything was beyond what I expected. Butterfly Bakery is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a cake, and I highly recommend stopping by for one of the many treats that are sold out of the display case. The lemon petit fours are amazing!

We ordered our wedding and grooms cakes from here and we're very disappointed. First, they were 30 minutes late in delivering the cakes so we had to postpone the wedding ceremony as it ended up having to be inside due to the weather. No call or anything to state they'd be late or apologize. I didn't want them in the room putting it together during our ceremony. Then the cakes were pretty on the outside but the almond wedding cake with strawberry filling was still frozen in the middle telling me just how far in advance it was made. It was frozen even after it set out for two hours before we cut it. The chocolate grooms cake with strawberry filling was so wet it just fell apart and was horrible to try to serve so we just didn't. I spent well over $900 dollars on these cakes and would have gotten something better at my local grocery store. It's almost like we were an after thought. Will never go here or use them again!

Absolutely mortified at my Husbands party that this expensive cake was supposed to be “phenomenal” and was thrown in the garbage! Horrible! Guests wanted to know where I got it so they wouldn’t order from them. It was decorated very nice, but that was it. Should have ordered from Sam’s but wanted everything to be perfect

We used Butterfly Bakery for our July wedding. The staff there were very friendly and wonderful to work with, and the cake was delicious! We had a three tier cake and were able to do two different flavors (two tiers one flavor and another tier a different flavor) which was so fun! The cake was also beautiful - exactly as we envisioned. It was an incredibly smooth process working with them. Highly recommend.

Incredible pastries, good luck walking out of here empty handed. Their brownie desserts are out of this world!! I got the cookie dough, cosmic, and peanut butter cup and they were all 10/10. Great service and staff as well. Very unique selection! They are wonderful for special orders and wedding cakes as well!

I absolutely love Butterfly Bakery! They did our wedding cake/cupcakes and we're amazing :-) The cake topper was forgotten at their shop but they made an extra effort to go back and get it in time for the reception and I was so grateful. Then last year for my son's 1 year party they made a brain cake for his smash cake and it made for some amazing pictures in addition to being scrumptious. The choclate cupcakes I ordered in addition to the cake were to die for and even my husband ate them and he is not a fan of choclate cake. Her carrot cake is my favorite in town and I am always excited to see carrot cake cupcakes in the display when I stop in for a sweet treat :-)

I’m impressed with their artistry, but mostly, the taste!! I’ve never had a bad bite, and feel proud to share any of these items with my family & friends. As a past owner of a made from scratch cupcake shop, I’m at ease knowing when I can’t bake, I can have Butterfly Bakery do it for me and still impress my guests with a very high quality made product!! I think they are priced competitively and I always feel good, when supporting a small business!! For me, it’s worth the drive from Ashland, Ne. (@40 min) to have the piece of mind, that whatever I order or choose from the case, will be a treat!! Keep up the good work!! You’re making Lincoln and I’m sure, your Mama’s proud!! ♥️

I've loved Linda's baking since I first discovered her at the farmer's market. I've worked with her over and over again & she rocks!!! I love her cakes, chocolate peanut butter cupcakes, lemon bars, sugar cookies, carrot cake, cinnamon rolls, apple pie (My personal favorite), and shortbread.

I was terribly disappointed when I got a tiramisu cake from Butterfly Bakery recently. I had one years ago from there during the previous owner's time there. My friend who I bought the cake for as a birthday present is a tiramisu afficianado and he was the one who bought the cake there years ago for me on my birthday. So when I ordered the cake, I knew it was under different ownership and I specifically asked if the same recipe was used and the woman assured me it was. The cake was pretty awful. It was not a traditional tiramisu by far. It had the lady fingers and that is about it. There was no trace of marscapone, espresso, or liquor. In addition, it had thick, commercial frosting on the top and inside. I was very disappointed and while my friend was a good sport about it, I'm sure he threw the rest away after I left. I could have gotten a much better regular cake across the street at Russ's. The staff was friendly and the cake was done on time but those were the only assets. Please tell people honestly what they are going to get because it can ruin an occasion if not.

Despite what they say they actually leave their items out for days- it’s not fresh. Their brownies sit out for weeks. Waste of time and better quality baked items at other locations. No thanks. Please STOP lying to your customers. I know for a fact your brownies are left for two weeks.

I would recommend not going there on a Saturday. Everything appears to have been sitting for a few days. They were all out of cannolis and the cream puffs were rock hard. It seems expensive too for the quality of baked goods.

Awesome service and cake! I know a lot of people go to the Cake Lady here in Lincoln, but Linda's cakes and the service at Butterfly Bakery are just as good if not better and her prices are great. She made the desserts for our wedding....wedding cake was chocolate chocolate, and then we had sheet cakes of red velvet with cream cheese frosting, white cake with rum and chocolate buttercream frosting, and carrot cake and strawberry lemonade cupcakes along with chocolate covered strawberries. Linda was wonderful. We got so many complements on all the desserts. She's also catered several events that I've been to in town. She made a vintage wedding cake for my good friend that looked exactly like her mom had that had passed away...wow! Talk about a wonderful memory for her special day. Linda and Butterfly Bakery are the BEST!

Bakery is cute with great staff and service. But do Not order the tiramisu cake if you want/have expectations for a tiramisu cake. It will not be a tiramisu. Construction is a lot like Lincoln's Whole Foods' "tiramisu cake;" (Whole Foods bakeries tend to have not-as-sweet sweets; even though their tiramisu cake was also misleading, carrying both tiramisu and tiramisu cake) Butterfly Bakery's tiramisu cake is* however a delicious cake. Even the ladyfingers on the side were tasty. (But not a tiramisu cake; or at least not like you'd expect one to be or taste like) But the icing(?) used to glue the ladyfingers on was very sweet. Pictures of the tiramisu cake enclosed. Items in the bakery seem fresh as items seem to be different every day. Cakes are made to order only. Very communicative.

Got my boyfriend's birthday cake from here! Everyone loved it! It was beautiful and they did it as close to the picture I showed as possible. Mindy is SUUUPER great and everything was ready on time. 4 stars instead of 5 due to the fact that a layer of the cake was almond and I do NOT like almond flavoring at all and I did not ask for almond so I was confused why there was almond in there. I absolutely hated the almond flavoring that was added. BUT other than that it was delicious :) Will be back most likely to try more of their things.

While the food was delicious... being in food myself I couldn't handle the guy not washing his hands between handling my food and the register. He wore the glove while checking me out and then continued to grab my pastry without a fresh glove. GROSS. If he is going to do that in front of me I don't want to know their hygiene in the back.
