I’ve come here three times, each time they offer a different variety of quiche, I’ve yet to meet one I didn’t like! My go to side is a pesto croissant(healthy I know.) Two bakery items, a hot beverage, tip over 20%, and the total is still less than $10. Lovey staff!

Bernice's bakery is a beautiful local bakery that has been there for my entire life. They make some good cookies and pastries. Make sure to show up at a good time because seating is limited.

Delicious pastries, the best cupcakes ever! They even offer gluten free or vegan options and a gluten free vegan option as well and they have pretty good lunch options. Good customer service. Some negatives include: limited space, parking can be hard to find, and there is No WiFi! Such a shame. I'd come here more if they had WiFi actually.

There are few places better than Bernice's for baked treats of all varieties. Cookies, cakes, scones, rolls... it's all here, freshly made and top-notch. The pricing isn't anything to frown about, either. An always friendly and lively shop at a nice location near the Hip Strip and a stone's throw from the riverbank, Bernice's is usually fairly full but never seems to be overly crowded. In short, the perfect place to come for a natural and fresh answer to your sweet tooth that isn't too expensive and is always served with a smile.

The problem with this place is they have a huge service problem, when you are dropping $80 bucks on holiday goodies and you have a cashier that tells you to not to refrigerate your expensive lemon meringue pie two days before Thanksgiving... Well don't expect happy or repeat customers. Also a good idea not to throw the 15% tip screen in people's face every time they use a debit/credit card.

Our wedding cake was fantastic. From the tasting to delivery they were very easy to work with. The cake was delicious and the price was great. We were able to bring in our own cake platter and had plenty of cake to go around. We look forward to any excuse to work with Bernice's.

I ordered my wedding cake through Bernice's and I loved, loved, loved my wedding cake. It is by far the best cake I've ever had. I asked them to put a little star wars on one side of the cake for my future husband and it turned out fantastic. We got a lot of compliments about that little bit of Star Wars. We also ordered a few cupcakes to go with it and those went really fast. I personally didn't get to try one but i heard how amazing they were. I got a lemon with huckleberry filling and it was amazing. Thank you for my amazing cake.

Good pastries and espresso Edit: I originally rated 5 stars but would give it zero after my last visit. I ordered "2 shots of espresso over ice in a 12 ounce cup". The cashier/barista said "no problem" and got to work. I naively waited, thinking I was about to receive the drink I had ordered, paid for and tipped almost 2 bucks. So silly of me. For I did not anticipate that I was wrong for ordering a drink and paying. You see, at Bernices Bakery they have a very strict but unsaid rule about espresso, ice and cups larger than 4 ounces. I had a feeling I had committed a faux pax when the thimble sized cup with espresso and one lonely ice cube was placed I front of me. So here's the secret rule that was quickly mumbled in my general, but not specific direction. With eyes averted I was I i informed that I was not allowed to have my espresso in a 12 ounce cup with ice. Oh no, that is an absolute a no no here at Bernices Bakery and Authoritarian Coffee shop. "Why?" some of the, clearly dim bulb, readers of this review might wonder. I have it on the oath of the Manager themselves (well, relayed to me by an employee while hiding in the back kitchen) that one would dare to put cream and sugar in their espresso, therefore creating with magic, an iced Latte! Which is absolutely NOT offered as an option due to the obviously nefarious nature of the drink. Poised and ready to drain the coffers of the owners hard earned half and half investments. Though it is on display, only a fool or a coffee drinker would think to desecrate the holiness of the container labeled "half and half " by putting it in their espresso. I was thankfully informed that, even though I enjoy a splash of cow juice in my cuppa, I would be doing no such thing in Bernices Bakery and Espresso Nazi deniers Orwellian Anti-Individualism Haberdashery and Dream Crusher. For under the decree of her highness and manager of all things espresso; No one is allowed to alter their espresso in anyway, unless approved by Misses Manager, stamped in triplicate and filed in the deepest reaches of the known space and time continuum. Which never happens as the more informed reader will obviously know. Alas, here I am, simply a man. A man uneducated in the ways of the espresso gods. I beseech you, God Almighty and Ruler of All, Yaweh, and perhaps most commonly known as, "Bernices Bakery and Extra Oppresive Espresso commander and chief in charge of Denying Espresso Enjoyment" forgive me for daring to fly to close to the sun and allowing myself to imagine an espresso poured over ice in a 12 ounce cup and splashed with the sacred and invaluable cream product that is Half and Half. I realized my sins and left in shame, unable to allow myself to disgrace the espresso and croissant, I had just paid for, by even looking in their direction, let alone continuing to imagine consuming them. We all knew. I had made the most egregious and profane request possible. And I know now that I shall pay the price of my ignorance. But before I do that I had one more mission to accomplish. I slowly gathered myself together, picking up the broken pieces of my former confidence and hubris, and stepped through the door marked "Black Coffee " and approached the waiting barista. "Double espresso on ice in a 12 ounce cup please " I heard myself say out loud to my absolute terror and shame. But the gods decided to shine on this man's wretched eternal soul today. For I was granted the holiest of holies, the chalice of life and all that Is. A cup, with ice, and Espresso. You win this time Black Coffee. But be tread lightly, for we all know that serving your customers a quality product in a manner that they will enjoy is a wide path leading straight to the depths of Hades, ruination and damnation...

Bernice's Bakery is an institution, now in its third generation of owners. You couldn't ask for better owners than Marco and Christine. They are passionate about food and love what they do. You are guaranteed to see a friendly face or two. If you sit a while, it's possible to overhear or join a conversation with the regulars who spend the mornings enjoying coffee and reading the paper. The croissants are made by hand the traditional way, which takes days of hard work and serious arm muscles. In the last few years they started offering lunch sandwiches and salads. So delicious! This is also one of the best places to buy a cake for a special occasion. And the coffee is as strong as battery acid, for those who enjoy that. If you're visiting Missoula and want to understand our distinctive culture, go to Bernice's and enjoy a pastry.

She suggested kootenai creek, the trail to the 'M' on the side of the hill, and rattlesnake recreation area. The coffee was great, and the service was outstanding! I HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I called from Albuquerque NM to order a cake for my sisters birthday and it was suppose to be delivered between 2pm and 4pm. They called my sister and told her they were very sorry BUT THEY FORGOT MY ORDER. They were going to deliver the cake later but my sister went to go pick it up. Never would order a cake with them. Would not recommend.

I love this spot. Their croissant selection is enormous! I got their garlic croissant and it blew my mind. The best thing I had, though, was the hot cider. It's perfectly spiced and ideal for a drizzly Sunday. Their coconut macaroons are also super addictive (and gluten free!). This will be a regular breakfast spot for me while in Missoula.

Bernice's is a great little bakery near the downtown area. The staff is friendly, and give great suggestions. The selection of treats is amazing. I even ordered a custom cheesecake for my husband's birthday. It came out great, and there were several options to choose from. Hands down best item: Their cookies. Whether you choose the traditional chocolate chip (amazing when warmed up) or a tasty oatmeal, you won't be disappointed.

In a town with so many local coffee shops and bakeries, Bernice's continues to stand out as one of the best. This was one of my favorite places to grab a coffee and pastry in college and now that I am back in town for a few months it is such a treat to get to spend a quiet morning here. I definitely recommend visiting Bernice's and then go for a walk along the Clark Fork.

What a group of sour ladies!! Walked in and was not even greeted or acknowledged. The lady who was at the register was extremely short with me and didn't so much as smile. She looked at me like she had the worst job in the world and it was my fault! Even after I thanked her and sat down she brought my coffee over and I said thank you again, she walked away with not so much as a smile. If it wasn't for the fact that their treats are so yummy I would probably never come there again. Being treated like a miserable guest of Bernice's is never satisfying. Might as well have walked into a funeral. Maybe someone teach these girls what business etiquette is? If you don't love your job and treating customers well, then quit!
