I ordered a two tier cake and a smash cake for my son’s first birthday. It turned out BEAUTIFULLY. Tasted great too. Katy was amazing to work with and the rest of staff was very friendly as well. A few small details were not as expected. Overall a good experience.

Order a birthday cake for my daughter with scooby doo on top. Paid $150 for it. Unwrapped it and scooby doo had both his legs broke off, broken tail and tongue. It look so horriable. The cake also had a finger Mark in it. And to top it off it didn't even taste good, the frosting was horriable, most the kids at the party didn't even eat it. Kids not eating cake says alot. Called to complain, finally after 3 days of calling I talked to a manager who was extremely rude and accused me of dropping it if it was broken. I would not recommend this bakery to anyone, way over priced and not professional. For what I paid for $150 I could have got the same size cake at meijer for $30, and I'm sure it would have tasted better.

I have ordered several cakes and have not been anything less than Amazed by each of them! Holland Cakery and sweets doesn't amazing job with custom orders and their flavor and texture is fantastic. Their prices are reasonable and I will probably never purchase a cake anywhere else.

We ordered a 6" decorative cake for a party about 1 week out. They accommodated our order via email and it was just darling. We sent a few photos from the Internet in the style we wanted, and they did a very nice job. It was tasty and completed on time. Price was moderate.

Oh, what a blessing are Katy and the Holland Cakery! I traveled from Texas last week to give a lavish 30th anniversary celebration for my brother and sis-in-law who reside in Holland. This event was of disproportionate importance to our family as my brother is terminally ill and is unlikely to see another anniversary. As I arrived only a day prior to the event, I did the vast majority of my buying/ordering far in advance online. I saw the Cakery's website and their gorgeous creations. I'm a well-seasoned traveler who is not easily impressed, but their cakes are nothing less than magnificent. Via email only, I sent my specific instructions for the three cakes that I wanted to Katy. The price she quoted back was shocking! About $50 each cake, with each feeding a small multitude. I ordered the three and, even though their cake photos were lovely and Katy was responsive and seemed competent, it was not until the day of the celebration that we saw the actual cakes. Oh, my! Beyond gorgeous! Beyond magnificent! My less-than costly cakes were the hit - and I mean hit - of the entire affair! Thank you, Katy! Thank you, Holland Cakery! God bless you!

We ordered the cupcakes for our wedding from Holland Cakery N Sweets, and they were a huge hit! They were delicious, all flavors were moist, and they were large in size. We had 4 flavors, so everyone could enjoy what they like. They provided a free sample box that we were able to take home. We had a very good experience planning with them.

We recently celebrated my parents 60th wedding anniversary. We ordered a 2- tiered almond with Bavarian cream "wedding" cake, complete with ribbon trim. Not only was the cake beautiful but the texture and flavor were outstanding! The only complaint is that there wasn't any left! The guests loved it!! Thanks so much!!

I am a cake addict and I have been ordering cakes here since it opened...they are moist, sweet & very rich, so a little goes a long way. They are my Go-To for special occasions. My favorite is the almond. I don't think I've had a bad customer service issue with them. Always friendly and helpful.

I went in about a month in advance to discuss custom cakes and cookies I wanted for my daughters 1st birthday. I thought the communication was good on what I wanted. I wanted two, two tier cakes but once I came to pick them up I was given two single cakes. The lady cashing me out was also the woman who took my order in the first place. She seemed annoyed that I was even there and I never even told them I was supposed to have two tier cakes. The custom cookies I ordered were BEAUTIFUL but hard as a rock. You’d think $45 for 20 cookies you would have delicious sugar cookies. My cakes were delicious even though they weren’t what I thought I had expressed to them. An alright experience but I most likely won’t be returning.

My first time visiting and I was a little disappointed with the almond cupcakes that looked so delicious. The frosting was amazing but was ruined by the hard crunchy sugar around the sides. The cake was a little on the dry side. Loved the almond flavor and I will try them again, but will make sure there's no pink sugar.

They were very helpful regarding making the centerpiece cake for our wedding. We don't live in the state and they were willing to work around that for us. The day before our scheduled pickup I called and asked if we could get it early and without hesitation they had the cake ready in an hour for us. Great price as well. Almond flavored cake was divine.

I needed a Star Wars cake and some cookies for my son's first birthday party. I tried multiple other bakeries in the Grand Rapids/Holland area, and Holland Cakery was the only shop to even get back to me. We have ordered cakes from them in the past and have always been pleased - we should have just called them first this time, too. The cake and cookies looked awesome and were tasty, too! Very pleasant experience. Amazing job!

I got a cake for my husband and i wanted it to be special so i chose Holland Cakery. while we were very satisfied with how the cake looked, I was very disappointed to find a rubber piece of something in the middle of the cake which my mother in law brother in law and sister in law all got a piece of. When I called to tell them what had happened they took my name and number and said they would have the owner of the shop call me, which they never did. I feel it is completely unprofessional to not take care of such a very large issue. if they had actually eaten this rubber substance they could have gotten very sick! as this was my first time ordering from Holland Cakery I will never ever order from them again and I have nothing good to say because they did not take care of the issue and I will not suggest anyone to go there. next time I will just go to Meijer instead of going to a small business like this. Which apparently is what I should have done in the first place so unfortunate.

I am no longer a customer or fan of the Holland Cakery. I have ordered from them repeatedly before and had a mostly positive experience. However, today when I called in to order I was greeted and assisted by the rudest person I have ever encountered in my life. After I politely asked to order some cupcakes, she told me that they were too busy to help me. I told her that I have ordered the in past multiple times, in the hopes that she would want to retain my repeat business. She acted like she didn't care, and just ended the phone conversation... I didn't know the baking industry was so cutthroat... Long story short, there are too many great businesses that will appreciate your business. The Holland Cakery is not one of them!

WONDERFUL cupcakes. The frosting is not too sweet, the cakes are so moist. Honestly one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. Do not pass this place up. I have no idea why there would be bad service reviews; perhaps there was a less-than-friendly employee with whom these reviewers interacted. My experience, however, was top notch -- the owner was fantastic, friendly, and very generous. Five stars all the way!

They did not follow direct requests with our order and then we're very unprofessional when handling the situation afterwards. I have always enjoyed their shop for non formal occassions but the last 3 events with them have ended in mistakes. I will be in for the occassional cupcake but never a special order again!

The Holland Area Arts Council had its 50th Anniversary celebration on Saturday and Holland Cakery 'n' Sweets created a cake for each decade. The artistry was FABULOUS and they were delicious. (A different flavor for each decade as well).
