We ordered a 6” gluten free carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and it was delicious and beautifully decorated! Highly recommend! There was a nice selection of other pastries/desserts in store, including dairy free & vegan.
Lots of vegan and gluten free desserts. Unfortunately, the cupcakes were ridiculously sweet. The flavors didn't come through, cupcakes tasted like sugar. We ordered the confetti, lemon, and coconut flavored cupcakes. The brownie, blondie, and muffin were not too sweet.
What an awesome cute cafe! They offer gluten free and vegan baked goods. Their cupcakes and cake pops are to die for! So tasty! They also have unique events on weekends so make sure to stop by for those! Use the public parking behind the bakery on woodmont, and it is free on weekends!
Fantastic
Great gluten free deliciousness!!
I ordered a gluten- and dairy-free cake (chocolate with raspberry filling and frosting) for a going away party for a friend. It was marvelous and beautiful: both rich and subtle with a pleasant texture that one doesn't often get with gluten-free baked goods. I also served a standard sheet cake, and I noticed many people chose and preferred the cake from Red Bandana. I will definitely order again!
My family ordered Christmas cookies for our large family Christmas party. The cookies were delicious especially the almond cookie. And the macaroons were amazing. Gluten eaters and not all loved it.
I desperately wanted to love this place, as I have Celiac and need GF food. I walked about 20 minutes to get here and was instantly disheartened when I walked in and saw the look of the bakery items. They were small and flat and didn't look appetizing. Prices were better than many GF places, but with the look of the food, I expected the lower prices. All that said, I got a few pieces of food and found the taste of about 75% to be decent, with a few items being those I would buy again. I would personally go back as it was a safe place for me to eat, but I won't go out of my way again, I'll have to be close by to stop in again.
Awesome gluten free treats and so many dairy free and vegan options, too! The cookies are all delicious and the customer service is fantastic.
The Red Bandana Bakery makes the best black bean brownies and gluten free goods! The cakes are also super customizable for any dietary needs and the staff is super friendly and accommodating.
This place is amazing! I was more than impressed with the service and blown away when I received my order! Jaimie (and staff) are the best! Did an outstanding job on my 40th birthday cupcakes! Almost didn’t want to eat them because they looked so beautiful! These were the best gluten free cupcakes I’ve had to date. I will most definitely order from this bakery again. If you have gluten (dietary) restrictions (or just want some good cakes and baked goods) I highly recommend this bakery. They also have a good menu of other gluten free eats when you visit the bakery! Outstanding!
Great locally owned bakery that specializes in gluten free baked goods. They bake their goods daily and throughout the day. Highly recommend going for breakfast or lunch.
I had a cinnamon roll & my friend had a vegan strawberry scone. My cinnamon roll was DELICIOUS but a tiny bit dry (they definitely get a pass since we were there an hour before closing that day). My friend said the scone was good but they could go in more with the strawberry flavor. Overall good!
Ordered an 8" chocolate/vanilla gluten free vegan birthday cake. Beautiful and delicious! Thanks Jaimie.
Terrific gluten free baked goods. Many are vegan as well. We thought the chickpea scramble on cheesy bread and the apple muffins were so delicious. Don’t miss this bakery!!!
Jaimie at the Red Bandana Bakery is phenomenal. The spread for gluten free options is not only broad but DELICIOUS! The cake pops are my favorite but they have delicious savory options too! She catered an event I was a part of with mini ratatouille tarts and bacon avocado sweet potato bites- YUM! I enjoyed everything and would absolutely recommend the Red Bandana Bakery in Bethesda!
Really delicious and unique items.. Only in town for the weekend but I'd definitely eat here again!
Great-tasting gluten free cupcakes!! Premium selection of coffee as well. Good place to sit down and work.
Okay. Happy to have the vegan option.
This place makes absolutely fantastic food and my wife is now very happy to have red velvet cake again.
We just bought the worse cupcakes. Those were old, not fresh and even the frosting is the worse. It’s unbelievable that a store sell leftovers with such a horrible taste... never going back...
Bought two cupcakes for my husband's birthday. Drove 30+ minutes to get them, because.... Gluten free. I knew I was in trouble when I went to put a candle in and the cupcake was so hard the candle almost broke. Cupcakes were terribly dry. Two stars for frosting only, and that's generous. We won't drive back here again. Very disappointed.
Sweet treats and Excellent Coffees my favorite in Bethesda.
My "go to" bakery for sweets that satisfy and don't cause problems. My favorite is the flourless chocolate cake that they will also make dairy-free and refined sugar-free. Special orders need 2 days advance notice - it's worth it! Their in stock G-F and dairy-free brownies and cupcakes are delicious too. Even those without dietary restrictions love these treats.
I don’t typically eat gluten-free or vegan, but I love The Red Bandana Bakery. They have a wide range of tasty goodies & they are all tasty. My personal favorite is their brownies. Jamie, the owner, is enthusiastic & bubbly. She makes you feel like you are right where you belong in her shop.
Beautifully decorated healthy treats. I love their sandwiches and cheesy bread. Friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere.
Update: Went again recently, I think they had a new staff working, they were nice and attentive, however they're still a bit slow at making the coffee, although it was quite good this time! Think the speed problem is because they don't have an espresso machine that can make espresso in parallel. They also don't have a dedicated barista.
Jamie was so nice!! She gave us several options and answered all our questions and helped us find our wedding cake.
Gluten-free and vegan banana nut muffins are so good. Thank you for helping me eat breakfast with my food intolerances.
Newer employee gave it her all 2 make our coffee as we sank in2 the cloudy comfy couch
I had some friends bring me a variety of goodies from this place while I was in the hospital for several days. Unfortunately, almost everything was terrible. I went in today to give it another shot and the avocado BLT was quite awful. The bread was already broken when I unwrapped the sandwich. The outside of the bread was a darker color and harder than the inside, which tells me it's old because these weren't end pieces. Bread just crumbles and has a sour flavor (grain bread). The doughnut was underbaked... doughy and sticky. I love the idea of a GF restaurant because I'm Celiac, but they desperately need to work on textures and flavors. The almond cupcake I got in the past was amazing, but the one today was crusty and the icing was flavorless and oily. I really hope for some improvements because writing this review breaks my heart.
I truly wanted to like this place since the owner was super nice, but they will need to work hard to improve quality of the food. I've made my own gluten-free items at home and have tried just about every other gluten-free place in town, so I do have lots of experience with gluten-free foods. First off, the coffee was really not good - tasted watered down and super weak. But the most disappointing part was the egg sandwich. It was a really tiny egg patty that didn't seem fresh at all, almost like the processed egg patty you would get on a McDonald's breakfast sandwich. The bread was extremely dry and very bland. And there was really nothing more to it than that, no cheese or anything. I paid extra for avocado spread which was basically mashed avocado, nothing special. I did really enjoy the muffin, but it's not quite the best gluten-free muffin I've ever had. I feel bad giving only 2 stars, but I really was very disappointed. Perhaps if I can come to try again in future I will leave a more positive review if things improve.
Didn't know it was a gluten free bakery, until we started chatting with the cashier. I had a "build your own" breakfast sandwich. Super yummy. All ingredients were so fresh and it felt healthy. It was also very filling. The sweets looked very enticing, but didn't try. Maybe next time!
If you are looking for a cool hangout or some great gluten free options; This is the place! They almost have a section that has local artists showcase things you can buy. Delicious LOCAL coffee and amazing breads, cupcakes, have had her wedding cakes not only beautiful but delicious! Jaimie the owner is quite amazing and talented.
I ordered a vegan cake for my daughter's birthday party and 12 regular cup cakes. The birthday cake was super heavy and too sweet. The cup cakes were still wet inside had to throw them out:( Extremely disappointed. Will not return:(
We had the donuts for an all staff event and they were delicious! The texture of the donuts is very similar to donuts with the texture of cake. We ordered glazed, coconut and chocolate and we didn't identify them as gluten-free. They were the first sweets to go. Yummy!
My favorite so far is the avocado toast with roasted veggies, including kale and eggplant.
Amazing and fast cake creation! I called around to 3 bakeries trying to find a gluten free, soy free, vegan cake, with no luck! Then I tried this bakery and they immediately gave me flavor options and told me everything was vegan/gluten free and they had soy free options. Very tasty, done in 45 minutes with a birthday message, and affordable! Even cheaper if I had called ahead, haha. My previously cakeless friend was so so happy! Thank you for accommodating allergies so easily!
I've been on a gluten/dairy-free diet for a long time now. This place is simply not very good. The ancient grain bread is very dry, crumbly and falls apart. I would have hoped it would have had a nice flavor, but it is quite bland in taste. It was also $10 for a tiny loaf. The sweets seem to be made with cheap ingredients. The frosting is kind of dry, like it has been sitting out a while and it tastes like something you'd get for $.99 at the grocery store. All of it was really expensive and underwhelming.
A diamond in the rough! Staff are friendly and good is delicious! They do custom cakes! All vegan and gluten free
Everything about this place is great. Their cheese bread is one of the best things I have ever tasted. Coffee is hot and delicious, the pastries and cakes look and taste amazing. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Service is fast and polite. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone.
Awesome Gluten Free Bakery with a long list of choices plus there are Gluten Free Vegan options also. Excellent customer service, friendly and very clean and experienced emoyees that truly understand Celiac Disease, Severe Gluten Intolerance, Gluten Intolerance, Gluten Allergies, Gluten Sensitivity and Digestive Food Allergies :)
All gluten free
