They open when they want to and don’t seem to understand there demand because they run out of product constantly, and have attitudes when you question them about it. Seems like more of a hobby then a business. Will not go back because of the attitude there making a couple dollars and get upset about constructive criticism form the customers who patronize the business. They advertise with all these pictures and when you get there they have in cupcake left that of course taste horrible. Very disappointing

For my first time I was very pleased! I got there right at opening time and they still had products being made so the selection was light but I was still satisfied. I got 8 cupcakes for $34 and I have to say after the first bite I knew it was money well spent. I took a 45 minute drive and will continue to do so!! I cannot wait to go back and try more menu items.

We waited in line for about 15 minutes before actually stepping inside the bakery. I purchased the peach cobbler, apple cheesecake & a specialty cupcake. Everything was AMAZING! I almost shed a tear while eating the cheesecake it was so good. Everything was baked to perfection. I highly reccomend this black-owned business! I will definitely be back next week to purchase more.

Only reason why I can’t give this place 5 stars is because they don’t always have accurate times of when things will be available. They don’t let you preorder and everything is first come first serve. Now that the negativity is out the way let me first say this is a black woman owned business! Yay!! I’ve tried a lot of items that they have. However, the menu changes weekly so if you like something grab it! The cinnamon rolls are to die for. Literally sold out in minutes. Just wish they would know in advance what would be on the menu so you can check the website instead of being forced to go on Instagram to stay updated. Overall great establishment and I will continue to buy goods from here.

I am sooo looking forward to this baker opening a storefront. I have been a customer for years getting my birthday cake each year from them. This past birthday (Aug) I ordered a vegan chocolate chip cake. I ate the whole darn cake. Desserts are not only appealing but the taste matches them. I have had the cookies, cupcakes, cheesecakes to name a few. It is going to be so great to be able to go to this bakery and get desserts without having to order and wait......I'm excited and want to be one of first patrons to enter this new bakery.

Super excited they're finally open! Their desserts are great and baked fresh on site daily. Plan or call ahead as they do sell-out of their most popular items. Carrot cake as brownies are to die for! Cupcakes, so many different flavor and options. A little something for everyone. Highly recommend check them out.

I really wanted to like and support this place, but instead of addressing the issues I brought to the owner's attention, she chose to block me on social media. I was not disrespectful in any way. The first issue I had was that I requested a specific cupcake in the case, and I was told that I could not have the one I requested because it was not at the front of the case. If I'm paying $5+ for a cupcake, I should be able to choose the one I want. I should have left when that happened, but I really wanted to support this bakery. So, I selected a different cupcake and just didn't spend as much money as I originally planned. The second issue I had was I brought to the owner's attention that the banana pudding and cheesecake each taste like they were made from a box mix. This is not a problem if that is what you like, but I do not like my desserts made from a box mix. Prior to visiting the bakery, I sent an email to the owner specifically asking her to confirm whether the banana pudding was made from scratch or from a box mix. Her response was "All of our desserts are baked from scratch." Since I make pudding from scratch regularly, I can easily distinguish pudding made from a box mix from pudding made from scratch. Unfortunately this isn't it. Please note that another reviewer recently pointed out that this bakery uses canned peaches in the peach cobbler. Everything should truly be homemade and made from fresh fruit and completely from scratch for the prices they are charging. I was expecting an apology that the items did not meet my expectations at the least. Instead I was blocked as if I did something wrong. Blocking customers instead of addressing poor customer service and deception is a very bad business practice (unprofessional).

Went, FINALLY! The person behind the counter was personable and friendly. He didn't laugh at me when I hit my forehead on the glass... be careful! They are clean!!!! ;) I ordered the brownie/fudge and a Triple Chocolate cupcake, a Cookies & Cream cupcake and Snickers topped cheesecake cupcake. Can I just say that if you don't stop in here and get a cupcake you are missing out on a big sigh and angels singing. I am planning on ordering a cake, because she makes these amazing cakes too... I finally came to my senses and returned to this lovely place, and am glad that I did. I stopped going for about two month's after experiencing a minor service issue that ultimately amounted to a misunderstanding and lack of communication on my part. Since my last visit, I've tried several DC/MD/VA area bakeries, but to no avail. No one had out preformed "Sugar Vault" in quality of product. The staff has always been and continues to be caring and willing to go out of their way to ensure you the customer is pleased. My family and I are definitely customers for life.

Cant see what all the hype is about this place. Very disappointing, this store is always closed during the week, runs out of everything way too fast. Cupcakes, are not all that, Guessing that's why they make them look pretty with their decorations and all. This is comming from a person that practically lived in the bakery, that was a professional cake decorator, the cupcakes ive purchased from them were always dry, crumbly and way too expensive.

I was excited to visit Sugar Vault after coming across it online and seeing the wonderful reviews and the amazing looking cupcakes, etc on their social media; finally I was off on a Friday and decided to take the 30 minute trip over. Based on the reviews and posts about limited selection and crowds, I was worried I might get caught up in a lunch rush when I arrived almost at noon, but surprisingly there were no other customers in the store. Exactly how limited the selections were considering it was still early in the day and that there weren’t customers was also a bit surprising. I was honestly a little confused, I was expecting a Georgetown Cupcakes type crowd based on the hype. I bought 6 cupcakes and 2 cookie dough brownies and spent a little over $50. So, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I didn’t like 2 out of the 3 cupcakes I tried. Again, it’s weird because I see many reviews calling the cupcakes flavorful, but the turtle and strawberry churro cupcakes for the most part just tasted generically sweet, without much distinguishable flavor. The exception was the cinnamon roll cupcake which was pretty good. None of them were good enough for me to want to eat even half the cupcake. My husband tasted the strawberry churro cupcake and didn’t even care to try the other 2 I had gotten for him. Since we only had a few days to get through them and I wasn’t thrilled with them, we ended up tossing out 2 entire cupcakes and large portions of the rest of them. It was a little disappointing for the amount of $$ spent and time devoted, plus I really wanted to like them! The cookie dough brownies however are a whole other story. They’re the bomb and they were totally worth it! Probably wouldn’t go back unless I happened to be in the area when they’re open and only for the brownie or to try out something else. My experience doesn’t seem to be typical so YMMV.

Stopped in to pick up dessert. Decided on turtle cupcake, toasted coconut cupcake and a banana pudding. WAY too much frosting, made it gaggy sweet, so we scraped most of it off. Cupcakes were pretty dry. Tasted one spoon of pudding.. very strong banana flavor.. not impressed. I see other really good reviews, so am wondering why I found it not so hot.. sorry, but we won't be back..

I love supporting small black businesses. I have patronized this bakery on several occasions for events and personal indulgences :-). My waistline is starting to show it. I wish that they took custom orders but I totally get why they are not taking them. The young lady explained due to space, it is a very small space. But they are doing there thing. Just had the chance this Saturday to get a cinnamon roll and whoah!!! It was the best I have had. It was sweet potato cinnamon roll. So glad I waited in the line. I got to meet some friendly folks. Chocolate chip cookies was really good. I don't eat cheesecakes but tried the blueberry cobbler one and to my surprise I could eat it. Not sure what make theirs different. I'm a basic girl when it comes to cupcakes I had a chocolate and red velvet from here and it was so good. I ventured out and tried the lavender honeybun because the young lady said it was her favorite. I enjoyed the cupcake itself. Overall I have had good experiences each time I have been here. The staff is friendly and give good recommendations. Just remember everything isn't for everybody. Support our small businesses with true support. If you don't like something it is ok they have so many different options to come back to try each week. P.S. GET THERE EARLY!!!

This is the second time I've been here. The first time I think I might have spent sixty bucks. You talking about cupcakes that cost $5.95 and up a piece. While I appreciate the effort that goes into the cupcakes,p you have on the register is an issue. Her attitude is so poor. I'm paying a premium on a luxury item, this place is costing itself business with bad personnel. They're open only four days out of the week, yet she seems to have a bad attitude all the time. Cupcakes are outstanding. No doubt she had nothing to do with it. Costing the company sales with the stubbornness toward either men or she just got a bad attitude all the way around either way I would not have it in my place of business. My place of business has to produce sales and upsales your a bakery that's open four days a week you have to make every single one of those days count. I really hope you guys get it together. There's not even a how are you doing or have a good day. Whole new meaning to the term bittersweet
