MY HUSBAND ORDERED MY BABY SHOWER CAKE FROM HERE AND IT WAS WINNIE THE POOH. THEY DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB ON THE CAKE AND THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL WAS WONDERFUL. It was busy but very fast. Staff was super friendly. We bought dougnuts, strawberry shortcake 6in. and cupcakes , that were just made that morning. My daughter loved the cupcakes. She said the best that she had. We left and my daughter said i can't wait to share that cake of yours. I laughed and said ah I'm not sharing. I had to turn around so she could buy her own cake. My grandparents lived in Highlandtown when I was growing up and Herman's marshmallow doughnuts was always at their house. Today they taste exactly as they did when I was a little girl and brought back so many sweet memories. It was cool to share Herman's with my daughter today.

This place is amazing! Family run business with the best people!!! Came in on a busy night with my son had to wait a bit to order a cake but Adrian was so awesome. She gave my son some cake rings while we waited then even let him look at some monster truck images online with her. She printed him a monster truck photo which really made his day! Their cakes are so tasty too. Showed them a crazy cake design that we wanted and Adrian said she would over see the cake design to get it perfect. I am so impressed with Herman's!!! I always like to support local business, especially somewhere like Herman's which has been in Dundalk for longer than I've been alive. Unfortunately the service here has gone downhill. The cashier was not friendly at all and actually seemed miserable like she didn't want to be there. She also didn't seem knowledge with prices, etc. The quality of our cake was just not that good in the end for the price.

Terrible, stale cakes and pastries. My husband and I were so disappointed when we went to eat our goodies and they were both so dry and stale we couldn’t eat them. They have a “Day old” shelf and I believe these should have been put on there. They were not fresh by any means:(

Herman's Bakery gives me super fond memories of my childhood. My Daddy used to take me to get their FAMOUS strawberry shortcake. We used to go to the Eastpoint Mall location. He loved it just as much as I did. I'm happy to say that it still tastes exactly the same as it did years ago!

I went to Hermans to order a sheet cake and 2 dozen cupcakes for my daughter's baby shower. They did a great job on her wedding cake so i thought it would be the best place to order. I went in and a little lady by the name of Morgan took my order. She was very pleasant and friendly. So i picked out my image which was a unicorn and told her to put blue eyes and a purple banner made from fondant on the bottom with what i wanted written on it. I asked for the unicorn horns to be fondant also so that it would all be edible. She puts everything in and reads it back to me perfectly. I go in on Saturday to pick up my cake and i had no banner. It was written right on the cake. I told the lady they did it wrong and she said if i wanted to wait she would have them fix it. I told her i had a party to set up and no time to wait. When we went to set up the cake at the shower i realize that the horns were plastic. I was really disappointed. Like they had from the 11th to the 21st and couldn't get it right. Second off i called the store and ask for the manager and was told they dont have a manager. Then she took my complaint and looked it up and said i wasnt charged for the banner or fondant horns. I paid $100. And didn't get what i ask for. The only reason i gave 2 stars is because the cake was good. Never again. Next time i will take my business elsewhere. Still no phone call from whoever she talked to about my complaint. Guess they just dont care. Well they just lost a customer.

I ordered a 1/2 a sheet birthday cake for my daughter's birthday. She picked out a JoJo Siwa picture(edible image) when I went to pick up the cake I told the woman that it didn't say "Happy 6th Birthday" it clearly read "Happy 6+ Birthday" she looked at the cake and looked at me and shrugged her shoulders and said "it looks like it to me" I was so shocked. I thought she would of at least offered to redo it, but nope just walked away. I have always gotten my cakes from there, but I may rethink it next time. ****Also, the cake was hard as a rock the day after(for a $65 cake I wouldn't think that would happen when I followed the directions on how to store it)****

Me and my family use order cakes from here whenever we had an event or just wanted something sweet. Unfortunately I bought a slice of chocolate for $2.50 and I didn't realize until after I ate about a quarter of the cake that it was badly molded, I called to let them know and the only thing I was offered was a refund. How about a "I'm sorry" and offer you another slice for free or something of that nature? The employees have always been nice and helpful but sometimes they would have little attitudes. But because of this incident I will not be returning.

I've gotten birthday cakes from here for many years now. But this last time was awful, first they made the wrong size cake for my son's birthday and we had to come back the day of his party at 8am to get the right cake. The lady put it in on one place right an one place wrong. The girl getting our order noticed it. I actually bought 2 cakes an while they did both look good they both just didn't taste as good as their cakes used to. Everyone at the party was talking about how different they tasted and how kinda bland it actually tasted. An as for the mess up how the lady refused to acknowledge that it was her fault an try an blame us is what really made me decide I'll go elsewhere for our cakes next year, sad that it was like that there this time. Plus I dunno when they started charging for icing on your cake but we had a separate charge for the icing, isn't that supposed included in the price of the cake?!

We got our 4 year old his birthday cake from here and it was absolutely amazing! It was so cute and the decorations made our son super happy and excited about his cake! It was half chocolate and half vanilla and to be honest both options were just as delicious as the other!He even took the balloons off of the cake and held them for a good hour after we had cut the cake. They ended up being decorations for his new big boy bike! Thanks so much for the awesome birthday cake for our son!!!

This is a very nice old fashioned bakery that has been around forever. They do quality work for birthday cakes and things like that, and their strawberry shortcake is the best. They are easy to find and have plenty of convenient parking. Their prices are reasonable and the service there is very good. I have always been satisfied with my purchases and my 4 year old loves this place. I definitely will be shopping there again.

I stopped in on a Sunday, Father's Day to be exact. I was going to visit my grandmother not far from there and wanted to grab her something small to acknowledge her birthday that was approaching on the 20th. I got 4 red velvet cupcakes, one balloon (which deflated moments later) and a card totaling about 16 dollars. The cupcakes were good but 16 bucks I thought for a small purchase is rather pricey. I didnt expect that coming from what had the appearance of a whole in the wall establishment and the customer service is poor. I wouldn't go back.

I came in to inquire about a cake for my girlfriend's birthday. It was a hot day, and either their AC was broken or they don't have AC. Needless to say, it was brutally hot in there. There were flys throughout the shop. I was mostly basically ignored for quite a while when i walked in, even though there was almost nobody else in there. It seems the girls working there were more interested in gossiping than helping customers. The girl that did help me was nice, and i had spoken with her on the phone prior to coming in. The only bit of positive experience I had is credit to her. I wanted a quote on two cakes, and she went back to talk to the baker. I could hear the entire conversation, because they were literally just standing 5ft away behind a partition talking loudly. The baker in particular was being pretty unprofessional about it given the way she was speaking and the fact that i could obviously hear everything they said. The quote was absurd for what I'd asked for. I finally left after probably 1+ hours, with two cupcakes to sample (which I'd purchased). They both were very low quality and immediately made me sick to my stomach. I will never go back here again.

This 1 star is based off of the key lime pie I bought for a party this weekend. I was in the neighborhood, and decided to pick something up for a party I was going to. I saw there was key lime pie on the menu, so decided to get one, as it is my favorite dessert ever! When I cut into it at the party, I was immediately disappointed I had purchased it before ever even tasting it. It was filled with bright neon green jelly like goo. It was absolutely artificially flavored and colored. It tasted like the cheap pie filling you can buy in a can at a grocery store (I know because I made the mistake of buying a can one day. gross). Even the beautiful meringue that topped the pie tasted horrible. It had a weird dense marshmallow consistency instead of light fluffy meringue. I ate one bite and called it quits. I do not know about anything else in the bakery, but if they use cheap artificial ingredients for the pie, I can imagine they do the same for everything else.

Ive been going here for over 30 years. Great and friendly staff..great prices and amazing pruducts. If youve never had their smear cake..its like cheesecake than you HAVE to try it. But be warned...its VERY addictive and beat serves chilled. Im actually writing the reveiw beacuse I just got back from there today with my mother whos been going there even longer than I have. Well they had a fresh pan os smear cake and wanted to grab 3 pieces. They are big pieces. Well the young guy was very nice..braught it out so I could choose my 3 pieces cause Im not a huge fan of the corners. Now mind you Ive been going there my whole life and as with them and any bakery..Im able to choose the slice I want..or the cupcake or tart or cookies or whatever it is Im buying they always let me and any customers choose the piece. Obviously I want the piece most enticing to myself. As anyone would. Well the manager who mind you has ALWAYS let me choose what Id like.. was in a grouchy mood and as she walked by I was telling my mother to also pick out a piece for herself so at this point I wanted to purchase a half of a tray and she overheard and stopped and told me and my mother that we cannot just pick and choose the pieces that we want to buy. Very rudely...and very unprofessional to bring your bad day and attitude out onto the customers..let alone as loyal as 2 customers as the store could have. I felt VERY disrespected and told the young guy helping us that actually were not even going to purchase the smear cake pieces now. She can just loose the sale and potentially 2 very loyal customers. I wouldnt have baught the tarts or peachcake if it wasnt already boxed by the young guy that served us. He kept apologizing as he also knew how rude it was. And also that picking what most entices you is also your right as a customer in a professional custom bakery like Hermans..as did the customer that was right before us did as well..she didn't say anything to her. I really love this place and love the products..they really are the best and last good bakery around but Im not one who likes dealing with people like her and am not sure what we will decide to do in the future regarding going back but I just wanted the owner to know cause that very bad for business. Ive never spent less than $40 per visit and go Atleast once a month so I am a very loyal customer not including the rest of my family who also grew up going there and still do. I hope this is a one time accurance. I wouldve love to be enjoying some smear cake for a snack tonight but itis what it is. Thanks. Hope the review helps.

Old time bakery with old time recipes. Strawberry shortcake is the best. Cakes are delicious and look amazing. Good place to stop in for a donut or cookies on the way home.
