The staff is friendly and glad to make recommendations. I just got a peach Danish, and it was fantastic! I like the coffee they serve, too. The cakes in the window are beautiful, and though I'm not a big fan of most cupcakes, I like theirs enough to get them every now and then. They have a good variety and some rotating flavors, and the cupcakes are cute & professional looking. They also sell cake slices and other desserts in deli containers (such as strawberry shortcake and New Orleans style bread pudding).

I live in NY and this place is in MD. And when I tell you this bakery FAR EXCEEDS Make My Cake in Harlem, NY!!! I mean EVERYTHING is delicious! I had a custom order or 50 cupcakes with my daughters face on it and the guests went BANANAS! Carrot, German Chocolate, Coconut Blizzard and Pina Colada cupcakes were AMAZING! Even their.... Wait For It.... BANANA PUDDING CAKE was INSANE! Can't say enough good things because EVERYTHING WAS JUST SO GOOD!

Cakes are nice and you can custom make it any way you want with almost any type of decorations- ofcourse all with extra $$. However DO NOT GET THEIR COFFEE. I would expect a bakery coffee to blow Starbucks and Dunkins our the water, however their coffee was probably one of the worst coffees I have had so far.

Do not go to this place. I went to the location in Owings mills and received terrible customer service. There was a display for a $30 cake so I went to purchase one. When I went to pay it came to be $50+. I informed the guy of the displayed price of $30 and he said that was only for medium sized cakes. We both went to look at the sign and verified the price and it said nothing about the size. After speaking with the manager I insisted they give me the cake at the displayed price and they refused. Instead I left with a refund and a waste of my time because in the end I still needed a cake. DO NOT GO HERE AS THEY HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!

My sister and I stay in North Carolina and we were looking for bakeries in this area because we arranged a surprise 50th Birthday party for my oldest sister. With her living in New Jersey we don’t see her often and to complicate things a little her birthday fell on her daughters prom day who attended high school in Maryland. So she already was in a frenzy lol. Anyway we called this place and ordered a cake to serve about 20 people and the cake came to $200. When we got there, there was this tiny 8” cake in which they then explained that a large portion of the price was for decoration and my sister was furious. To add insult to injury the 20 people event grew to 50. The cake was pretty and all but $200 for such a small serving is high. When asked is everything ok with the cake I mentioned to them that she was disappointed however they did nothing. What happened to accommodating your customers if they’re unsatisfied? Customer service plays a big part in running a business. The cake tasted good but the overall experience at this bakery out of all the bakeries we could have chosen from was not good. Won’t do business with them again.

Our Fresh Bakery experience was wonderful from start to finish! Shannon was amazing to work with and very helpful during our consultation. She was patient in answering our questions, made suggestions along the way, and understood our vision for the design of the cake. They delivered our cake on time and it was hit at our wedding at the 1840s Plaza. The design was beautiful and spot on with our vision. Most importantly, the cake was flavorful and super moist! Trust us, Fresh Bakery is an excellent value for quality work and superb taste!

Lost my business Customer service was very poor, they get 1 for a clean place. I guess they judge people by their assumptions of who you are vs service. I was in town for the weekend and decided to stop in for some sweets with my son. 3 people behind the counter and they could not be bothered. The troglodyte that entered before me barely held the door open for me and my son because he was too busy on his cell phone to look up. Once he disappeared behind the counter, he barely glanced our way and continued on to his cellphone texting. We barely got the attention of the cashier if it wasn't for the fact my son was excited about the cupcakes he picked out, I wouldn't have bothered. After all of that headache the cupcakes were okay. Their conversations continued as if I wasn't there about another patron, never mind the fact we are standing in the store ready to make multiple purchases for my husbands league. No suggestions or have you tried such and such.. A dry smile and thank you, what a turn off. You can't be sometimey with customers its the difference between a few bucks or a revolving customer for a team and network. We can and will def. take our business elsewhere.

I ordered a pull apart cupcake from here and I know that I was very specific in the fact that the picture I emailed them I wanted to take the up the entire cake. I did not want any spaces filled I just wanted the picture to be the entire cake circumference. When I received the cake the picture was super small in the center and this is NOT at all what I wanted. I am so disappointed I wanted to cry. I ordered this cake for my son and it looks like someone his age made this cake. This was not with $50.00. Sam’s club could have put together a better cake!

I recently visited Fresh Bakery. I went in for Red Velvet Cupcakes. I have never had a better red Velvet Cupcake or Cake anywhere. And I have tasted many. The creamy cream cheese frosting is literally the most amazing icing on any cake. While the Fresh Bakery employee was boxing my desired cupcakes I eyed slices of cakes, bread pudding and cheesecake. I asked the employee about their Hummingbird Cake. The employee's description of this southern spice cake layered with the bakery's delicious cream cheese frosting sold me and will now be a favorite in the Kennedy household. Don't miss this life changing bakery when in the Baltimore/DC area.

I got a cake that was suppose to be fondant i was charged $151.00 but recieved a butter cream cake with only a fondant crown. The crown was fit for a king not a queen...way over priced to only get a butter cream cake. (specifically said no butter cream on cake...looks cheap) when i called back there wasn't a Manager on site and now waiting to hear back from the Manager. If you go here make sure its what you want when you place your order. In the end i feel scammed.

Still love this bakery. It remains my favorite bakery in Maryland. I ordered two cakes for a special event. They came out great. Cupcakes are always so moist and delicious. The sweet potato cake and slice of coconut lemon cake are my favorites. I wish they would sell slices of the sweet potato cake. Too many favs for the cupcakes. Just make sure you go! You won't regret it.

The dessert here is petty good, but the customer service is horrible. I have been supporting this business for many years ( since they were located at Owings Mills Mall). But the customer service has gotten progressively worse. On my last and final visit I was placing my order and the person behind the counter was so distracted by another customers conversation that she completely ignored my order. I had to repeat myself several times and it still wasn't correct. Finally I said to her you are so distracted this is not cool. She said sorry I'm just trying to hear what she saying and continue to ignore me. I was so frustrated by the time I left that I will never be returning to this location. This is the closest bakery to my house but I will be driving 30 minutes away from now on to go to a bakery with better customer service.

The cupcakes I bought yesterday tasted like there was a lot of salt in the batch. I bought a lot of different cupcakes and the salt was very prevalent in the taste of the cake. It seems as though there was not enough sugar. I will give them the fact that the cupcakes were moist but salty.

Morbid Experience - If you are expecting a happy and feel good experience this is not the place for it. I was facilitating a volunteer meeting and thought it would be to add cupcakes from this local business. I took a friend with me, I told her that last couple of times I had patronized the business, I felt like the staff was rude. So I wanted a witness. My standards for excellent customer service are set high. We were greeted with a somber hello. I asked them if they were okay, because never smile. The response was from the unfriendly person behind the counter was; I don't even know you. Then she preceded to tell me that I didn't have my order. She finally found my order, I suggested a smile would be nice at bakery. Her response was WHATEVER. That was my last time going there. A funeral homes are much friendlier place. I'm looking for a new bakery with grace and smiles.

I recently, ordered my daughter's wedding cake (May 14th wedding), it was absolutely fabulous in taste and decorated beautifully. All the guests raved about it and wanted to know who made the cake. It definitely was one of the stars at the reception. Most importantly, my daughter absolutely "loved" the presentation and taste of the cake. Our hats off to the baker, decorator and entire staff at Fresh Bakery. Special thanks to Mary-Marie through out the entire process. Very disappointed in the service of fresh bakery. I called ahead of time to place an order and when I went to pick them up the order was incomplete. I was told I was getting one thing and got something else. When I asked about the other half of my order I was told there was nothing they could do. This is after I had to go back and forth with the lady of what she told me. Extremely poor customer service will be taking my services somewhere else.

I'm not a big fan, the cupcakes are okay. I tried their famous Hummingbird cake and was extremely disappointed! The cake was dry, it had no pineapple or pecans in it (so is it really Hummingbird cake?) and the frosting had an overbearing orange flavor. And despite their website claiming everything is made from scratch, I did witness a supplier delivering 50lb bags of cake mix. When I make a boxed Betty Crocker cake, I don’t tell everyone that I made it from scratch... just saying.

There cupcakes are amazing, they also have bread pudding it's delicious. UPDATE In the pass few visits I have had some less than expected customer service. I go there quite often and USUALLY I am greeted with a familiar face and if there is a line or they are short staffed someone will at least acknowledge me and finish up what they are doing. I thought it was just me but after reading others reviews I see that it's not. My last visit two associates were at the front one was working with another customer the other young lady looked at me and then turned around and went to the back. After the associate was finished with the other customer she walked towards the back and then the other young lady came to take my order, she was very short with me when I asking about a dessert. After I gave her my card to pay for my dessert she asked did I want a receipt I replied no thank you and she just walked off. This is a good business and I love there desserts but dealing with poor customer service will draw your customers away.

I chose Fresh Bakery to make the desserts and favors for my wedding, and I was very impressed! We had a small, simple carrot cake for our sweetheart cake, and chose to do five flavors of mini cupcakes for our guests. Our favors were "his and her favorite" cookies, and they completed my cookies as a special order (unfortunately they do not make plain peanut butter cookies for my husband). Our guests loved the cookies and the mini cupcakes were a hit! People loved that they could try multiple flavors since the cupcakes were the perfect size.

This place is amazing! I'm from St. Louis and every time I come to Baltimore I make my way to fresh bakery!! It never fails me! Everything is delicious, from the banana pudding, to the sweet potato pie, to the quiche, to the strawberry shortcake! Don't even get me started on the wonderful cupcakes and the beautiful and personalized cakes that they put so much thought and care into! There are seasonal cupcake flavors that are always amazing! Extremely disappointed in this "Bakery" who buys boxed cake mix in bulk to make their cupcakes. The only thing unique about them is that they are square. The cupcakes that aren't sold that day are put in not so air tight plastic bins and stored overnight to be sold the next day as "fresh". The staff there is extremely talented tho (cake decorators especially).

I had ordered a cake for my son’s birthday and told them that it should not be very sweet. The cake was ready on time and looked beautiful BUT was toooo sweet. The frosting was also very sweet. The blue color used in the frosting colored the hands and mouths blue. I have not tried anything else but did not visit again because of this experience. Not a good experience for me.
