Charm City Cakes made and delivered our wedding cake and it was an amazing experience! We got to meet with one of the consultants who helped us design a classy cake. We got small samples of 6 cake flavors at the time of that meeting. All of their cake flavors are so delightful. Their fondant tastes like marshmallow fluff. So good. We had a week or so to decide on our flavors, we paid, and the beautiful cake showed up to our wedding several months later! It was such a pleasant and easy process. We can't thank them enough for the cake and for making it a simple process. Everyone on the team that we got to meet were so friendly. I recommend the chocolate espresso cake flavor!

I really wanted to try a Duff dessert after watching his show for years. Unfortunately it was the biggest disappointment ever. The cake was dry... really dry. I actually threw both of my desserts away. Maybe I just came on an off day but I don't see the value of going back. Charm City Cakes just seem to be style over substance.

I reached out to them in June to make a cake for my husband's retirement after 28 years in the Army. His first assignment was as a crew chief on helicopters and he still had his helmet from that time. I sent them pictures of the cake and on the day of the ceremony it was delivered and looked fantastic. My husband said it was the most memorable part of his day and was a fantastic surprise. When he first saw the cake, it was next to his original helmet and he thought it was another helmet. And the cake TASTED amazing. While on display, it garnered a lot of attention from everyone who walked by and they were amazed that it was actually a cake. Thank you Charm City for making my idea a reality and really impressing my husband.

Up until the wedding day, we had a very good experience. Our design appointment was great and lots of fun, they let us get 2 batches of flavor samples since we were undecided (though, in retrospect the samples are TINY), they were very prompt in correspondence, they were very clear about expectations, etc. We were a little bummed about the price from the beginning - I thought it was steep for a very simple cake by their standards. Plus the price seemed arbitrarily chosen based on the budget we gave -they just picked the max budget and then tried to increase later. They quoted me a base price of $7 per serving, which was far less than the simple cake I chose (and we decided to do a sheet cake from them in addition to have a smaller tiered cake to offset costs)- $7 per serving is probably an unfrosted cake. However, we decided based on their customer service promise ("it will be a worry-free experience!") and how much we liked the design that we would splurge anyway. Then, the wedding day. Everything had been going fine and the cake was scheduled to be 45 min before our whole day ended/before leaving for honeymoon. The tiered cake looked great on display. The staff cut the cake while I talked a little about our experience with CCC/explained how excited I was for everyone to enjoy the flavors, and cake was served. When they were serving the last tier, we realized that the sheet cake was MIA and that some of our guests wouldn't get cake. We cut the last tier into smaller slices and most of the people who wanted cake ended up getting some, but I think some were just being polite. After this, my mom called the company while we were on the honeymoon and they said because we didn't call during the event, they only refunded us only 50% of the cost of the cake, which still meant we paid more than a nicer cake at SugarBakers. Definitely the opposite of worry free. It is the "story to tell later"/bad memory from my wedding day and I wish I hadn't gone with Charm City Cakes. I tried discussing this further with CCC and they didn't continue the conversation beyond 1 email response and then no response to a follow up email answering their questions.

Cake was delivered on time and tasted fantastic. We had cookies and cream and marble and everyone loved it. Called 12/30 to see if they would be open 12/31. No answer and answering machine only spoke of Thanksgiving ours. Went in 12/31 around 1:00-1:15 and was surprised to see it wasn't busy. Glad we came when we did because they had a sign outside saying closed from 2-3...not on the answering machine. When you walk in the viewing/display/gift shop area is about a 9' x 5' L-shaped area. Can't take pics towards the back and they tell you nothing about their business nor explained any of the display cakes ie. what's edible on it and what's not, how long they take to make, ect. We bought some cup cakes and maybe it was an off day but they were not that moist and the icing was very thick and lacked flavor. Nice building, nice exterior and pretty safe neighborhood so if your in the area stop by but if your expecting a full in tour, history and free samples, I would not make any special trips for it's all of a 5 minute visit.

Their shop might be famous and their cakes look beautiful but the looks are deceiving. Our cupcakes were rather dry and the cake + icing lacked any flavor or body. The fact that the fondant used at the top had more flavor than the cupcake and icing together kind of was a let down. Good thing I got to try these for free though!

hi i like your show but how on earth do you get away with food regs or do you not have them in the usa eg all your staff do not tie up hair if long no hair nets nail polish on the girls no aprons or whites. Outdoor clothing contaminates. hair falls out nail polish chips would you buy from a bakery you know works this way.And yes i know its a tv show and you all want to look good but get it real at least. ,

Charm City Cakes, is our fav. Hubby and I hit here every Friday and we try to squeeze in at least one more day. We even treat our pup to a baguette piece. Everything is truly delish. My boys and hubby always get the chocolate thing. I do the gluten free scone or when I'm off the gluten free wagon, the corn cherry scone. It's amazing!!! All the owner workers are awesome too!

The BEST experience. We went to charm city cakes because we needed the best of the best to pull off the wedding cake we wanted (a free standing R2D2 with Harry Potter accents). It was so perfect that our guest were in a debate over if it was actually the cake!!! Can’t recommend this business enough - the cake was delicious (we picked the browned butter cake with a strawberry filing!), guests were requesting leftovers (but there wasn’t much left!!!).

I love Duff! Watch him.Was very excited to go out of my way on my vacation road trip to visit charm city cakes. It was very charming! A great experience. However, the cupcakes were dry and had no flavor. One was suppose to be birthday cake and one pineapple. They were both just dry white cake. The frosting was light and fluffy but flavorless. I think Duff would be embarrassed and mad that his reputation and recipes are being laid low in his absence. Very disappointed for my first taste of Duff's recipes.
