I called last minute to see if they had any cakes available for same day pick-up. When I called in the morning they only had one option but said if I called back in the afternoon they would have more options. When I called back, they had 4-5 options from me to choose from and I was able to reserve a cake and pay for it over the phone. I was traveling from southern Maryland to pick up the cake and when I realized I would arrive after they closed I called and they waited for me to come in even though it was after 5:30. Charles Street Bakery over exceeded my expectations, they were kind and accommodated me with a smile! The cake was also amazing and a big hit at the party. Thank you so much Charles Street Bakery!

I completely forgot that I needed a cake for an event that same night ( a Friday) I went in at 3:40 pm and walked out ten mins later with a beautiful, delicious cake that was personalized. Service was prompt and I couldn't have asked for a sweet person to help me. I also picked up a little treat for my friend cuz I know he loves key lime pies . I will be coming to Charles Street bakery for everything I need concerning cakes or baked goods. Needless to say, I am super impressed with their products and service!

Bought my first cake here the other day...for my wife's birthday...and WOW! The cake was more than I expected, it was over the top and beautiful! They made it for me on short notice and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the cake. A+ Charles Street Bakery.....Thank you

We had a cake from this place and it wasn’t good. Flat out. The lady ( i didn’t even care to remember her name though i should have) was rude and condescending. The cake was for my brother and sister in-laws wedding and she didn’t want to give us the cake. She claimed she didn’t “trust men to take the cake home in one piece”. Um? Men don’t know how to hold cake? When i heard that i was so flabbergasted. How unprofessional of her. Also I’ve heard from numerous other people that they’ve had a bad experience here. 1/10 i wouldn’t recommend. No. 0/10.

Very good baked goods at reasonable prices. My daughter is working here and seems to be truly enjoying the environment and her co-workers. Apparently, parking on the street shoulder in front of the store *is* allowed.

Got a last minute call for a birthday cake and stopped by Saturday and to my delight, they had a freshly baked Carrot Cake nicely decorated and ready to go! I was extremely pleased with not only the cake, but the service was outstanding. They even wrapped the cake box in a beautiful purple ribbon. My entrance to the event was awesome & needless to say, the cake was a rave, even the following day. I'll be back for my son's Christening in November for my Curious George cake!

If I could give 30 stars I would. We picked up my daughter birthday cake and even though it was a great looking cake, it wasn't what she wanted. The young lady was so sweet and fixed it for her. I will never go anywhere else but here. Thank you Charles County Bakery for a wonderful experience.

This place is absolutely amazing. They have the best chicken salad sandwiches around. Their baked goods are the best that I have ever had. The staff are always smiling and very friendly. Great atmosphere and very welcoming. Best place in town!!!

Their cakes may be good but their customer service stinks. I walked in and they obviously saw that I was there because we made direct eye contact, but instead of taking care of a paying customer they decide to keep chatting.

I have used Charles Street Bakery many times in the past. The cakes are excellent - very moist and the buttercream icing is amazing! They always create fabulous looking cakes and are very reasonably priced. The orders are always available on time, even when I order the same day. The customer service is wonderful as well. I would definitely recommend!

On Saturday I picked up a cake from this bakery.. Immediately I noticed the cake looked nothing like the cake I ordered. The cake also looked sloppy and had way more frosting then the cake I requested.. It had runs in it where the bark was drawn. I get it, it happens.. so today I call to just tell the manager I wasn’t happy with the cake. Mind you the cake was 110$. I don’t want money back or anything I just wanted them to know what came out of there business... She was rude, condescending, and was basically making fun of the fact that it had “too much frosting”. I hung up and decided to leave a review. I have never left a business a bad review.. I’m going to post a picture of what I request, and what I received. I would not recommend this company. Things happen, but we need to own up to it and make customers happy... That is what I would do if it where my business’s

We love to stop by for a treat on Saturday mornings. They have great coffee, donuts, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, buns, macaroons, brownies, cake pops, pies, cakes, etc. They also have a few savory items, like sandwiches, cheese filed croissants, and sometimes soup. They even have dog treats! The atmosphere is french country, intimate, and inviting. The bathroom is always clean.

I ordered a chocolate cake for my co-worker's workers birthday and the cake itself was so dry. It tasted like something you would get from a grocery store, in fact, I've purchased better pastries from the grocery store. I was so disgusted when everyone including myself, got a taste of that awful cake. Won't be back.

Gross gross gross the smell of this bakery is mold and old mop water. I would buy a prank cake out of this joint . There are no sweets for the sweet here .

These guys are a piece of heaven in Laplata my daughter and I stop by after school for cookies and they are always so Good! Just picked up a red velvet cake for Christmas and the hustle and bustle inside the shop on Christmas Eve felt so festive and authentic just like the good ole days!! Love this place

We bought a small four-layer alternating chocolate and vanilla cake with chocolate ganache and icing. The presentation was excellent but the flavor of the cake was off. It was dry and had a chemical flavor. It might have been sitting in the refrigerator for too long but we are disappointed. Maybe the freshly ordered cakes are better.

The Store front can easily be missed. It's a small bakery but with lots if delicious baked goods. I tried the brownies, peach pie & sum cranberry white chocolate cookies. All were delightful. Parking is a problem. You either have to cross the street & park there or behind the building. They also have soup, sandwiches & drinks. It is before u get to the Hospital on Charles Street. I will be returning.
