The Avenue Bakery family takes pride in all they serve. The kitchen area is always clean, racks are always covered, everyone uses gloves when handling food and most of all you're serviced with a smile. The most difficult part is refraining from over-indulging on the desserts...mini-Apple Pies, mini-Sweet Potato Pies, Cinnamon Buns, Cinnamon Raisin Buns, Apple Buns, REAL Bread Pudding! Oh, and the Rolls? Let's just say if you want them on a Sunday you better beat the "after church" crowd... Stop past and you won't be disappointed.

This is a local gem. The lemon pound cake is like my Granny used to make!. An entire pound cake is less than 10$. The snickerdoodle cookies were so wafer crisp and light , fabulous. The staff is so friendly and helpful.

So I used to stop in just to pick up a few rolls. then I walked in and smelled the scents of the most delicious sweet potato pies. I tried one and after that...needed to try EVERYTHING! To find that everything is absolutely amazing and fresh everyday. Cherry danishes, apple pies, whole pound cakes...i don't know how they do it. Awesome Baked Goods... Great Staff & Owners are extremely friendly! Parking is a bit cramped but worth it for the rich display of cultural and historical Photos of Baltimore's Jazz Scene of the past. Other items are available for purchase such as t-shirts and artwork to raise funds for the reconstruction of the Historical Royal Theatre.

Very clean, welcoming bakery. The women are warm and friendly. And they have an open bakery ( you can see them working in a prestine environment) I used to go there for their delicious croissants and whatever else I could grab. Clearly, they are very skilled at what they do and they care about the well being and preservation of the community. I wish I could give them 4 and a half stars. The only thing these women are lacking in, is range. I think they could branch out in what they offer. They have plenty of offerings like cupcakes, pies, cake, shakes and cookies etc. But I felt myself missing the fruit topped, glazed tartlets, miniature cheesecakes, chocolate dipped cannolis and eloborate confectionery designs I had become accustomed to in other bakeries.
