The place was very nice. It was clean and plenty of space for seating. Place was very busy. English muffin was not toasted so it soaked up a lot moisture and was soggy. For what we got the food was very expressive. 40$ for breakfast without tip and then it was 14$ for 6 donuts.

So so so many delicious doughnuts to choose from. When you visit Wells you have to make sure to go there. Go early otherwise your choices will be limited to about 30 different doughnuts. Seriously they taste so good. Oh and you can have all day breakfast there. Go for the lobster Benedict after all we are in Maine aren't we

I went for breakfast, and it was really good. They have the best hash that I have ever had, and fantastic home fries. Their donuts are heavy, but also very good. For some evening activity, they have food trucks outside that all serve food during the later afternoon, and into the evening. I did not get to try the food trucks, but I certainly will when I return!

We had a wonderful time at Congdon's Doughnuts. Our waitress Natalia was very nice, friendly and well spoken. I had a lobster egg Benedict with home fries. It was DELICIOUS. After that we were curious about doughnuts (since they were in the restaurant's name) and decided to share a blueberry one. It was so good, we decided to buy half a dozen to bring home (and I am not even a donut person, but it was that good). Natalia was a delight. She was knowledgeable and friendly. Extra cherry on top was when we found out we both had Russian and Ukrainian roots. Great food, wonderful experience, good time had by all. I highly recommend this place (just ignore a floor scale for a while ;) ).

Food was good but man the prices in the restaurant went way up since we were there two years ago. Over $100 for a family of six for breakfast. That's nuts considering my four kids are under 12 and basically had a pancake each they barely ate. Not to mention we went to the Steak House acid the street ate like kings and the bill was less, guess they don't want my business.

My previous review was focused on the Trucks and Pups event to kick off the 2019 food truck season. While that was wonderful, every time i visit Congdon's, whether for breakfast, lunch or the food truck park, i have a great experience with outstanding food. I can't say enough about this business. I feel they genuinely care about me, the customer, which is a rarity in our modern age of impersonal, get it now service. Show this business some love and you'll be rewarded tenfold.

Best donuts around, end of story. Sit down breakfast is also amazing, albeit a little expensive. Hey the Irish Benedict and ask for a biscuit instead be of English muffin. Also, maple bacon fritters... Expect crowds and waits almost all the time. Also be aware they run out of some donut varieties early.

We went to the restaurant for breakfast and were very pleased. The staff were all so friendly, the service was fast despite being super busy, and the food was great. We also visited the Congdons after dark food trucks and loved the atmosphere and the various choices, there was something for everyone. PWe have visited the Wells area for many years but this was our first visit to Congdon's....we will definitely be back

Went here for breakfast. Looking forward to the doughnuts. Their hours are 6am to 2 pm. Arrived at 10am, was seated at 10:20; ordered Boston custard doughnuts, blueberry & apple fritter. But, alas, was told by waitress that there were NO filled doughnuts or any fritters left. I said how could that be when you are only half way thru your business day and are to provide doughnuts?? Was told that it things run out then that is how it is, they don't make anymore. Had to settled for a plain honey doughnut. Very disappointed. Would NOT recommend !

Amazing donuts! You will never have a bad donut here. They are all always so fresh and just so tasty. The lines can get long in the summer but worth it. Your only regret will be if you only buy one or 2. Make sure you get half a dozen or a dozen and be careful where you leave them in your house because they get eaten really quickly!

First of all, don’t make this review through you off about coming here! There are friendly staff, wide selection of food, and great hospitality. The one time I ate at Congdun’s Doughnuts my Apple Fritter doughnut was cold. I don’t know if it was sitting there for a while and got cold or if they pressed the doughnuts and gave me the flavor I wanted. I will never know. But the food I did get was very hot, so that’s a plus.

Congdons Doughnuts has delicious, fresh pastries baked every morning as well as hearty breakfasts that will fill you until afternoon snack! They also have a food truck event that they host that is a fun event for families of all ages with a great selection of food trucks that range from crepes to French fries, lobster rolls to Mexican street corn! I definitely recommend this place! Enjoy!

Recent trip through Wells, my son drove by at 6:45 am there was a line for Congdon’s. His clue there must be something good. When he went back by two hours later he jumped in line for a 1/2 Dozen donuts. After looking at them he decided a half dozen would not be enough! After tasting them I’m not sure what number would’ve been enough! I dare say the best Boston cream doughnut I have ever eaten. I also had a glazed, a taste of a chocolate glazed, and a taste of a blueberry. I am not a big donut fan but I am grateful I do not live anywhere near Congdon’s ! I fear what size I would be if I was anywhere near them on a regular basis! A bit pricier than your average dozen donuts but for a treat on occasion worth every penny!

Where do I start? It would have to be with the Maple Cream donut. Never had anything so good. Oh, and good coffee. All their offerings are scrumptious. I've seen a line out the door it gets so busy, but it moves fast. You pay a little more, but you get a premium donut! C'mon, your in Maine, and you only live once!!! You may think you've gone to heaven after you've tried a Maple Cream. Also a great restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Closes at 2pm. Drive thru as well. Plenty of parking; wheelchair accessible. Closed Wednesdays.

We literally drove from Vermont at 3am to arrive and have these donuts for breakfast. They are amazing and always fresh. I can't tell you how great the lightly crisped donut under the glaze, powder, or frosting is EPIC! My family enjoys the Boston creme the best but... Apple fritter was literally the best ratio of apple and doughnut I've ever had.

Sat at the tiny bar for breakfast on Tuesday morning, and our server was super friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the donut holes, good coffee, and a quick breakfast, considering how packed it was. I expected a longer wait given the parking lot and full dining rooms, but was pleasantly surprised. I've been for donuts in the past, and they can't be beat!

Man, the world would be a better place if there were more Congdon’s around. I have been getting baker’s dozens for years, my favorite is the blueberry filled donut, the best donut I’ve ever had. But every donut here is good, the fritter or raspberry jelly are also on my top 3. This place is friendly with a ton of locals and visitors that come from far. This is the type of grub perfect for a hang over. I got the hearty breakfast that came with a nice fat ham steak, red bliss home fries, eggs, that blueberry donut, house made toast, and two flap jack sized pancakes. Make sure to give me the thumbs up if you liked my review.

went there a little after 1:00 and my wife and I both had their Ruben sandwich with fries. This sandwich had thick chunks of corned beef. out of all the Rubens that we ever ate at restaurants this was the best!! Worth the trip again just for that. of course, since we were there, we had to pick up some of their donuts. Been 10+ years and they still tasted as good and the first batch. You can't get a donut this good anywhere except here! Highly recommend and we'll be going again before Christmas

Go early because the line is out the door before 7am! It's worth it! Its also worth the wait and the line goes fast anyway if there is one.

Place was great. There were food trucks one night and bar and good entrainment. And when we came the next morning, the drive thru and coffee was great. Doughnuts were delicious. Nice change from dunks. They close at 2 though for coffee and that's what the girl told us when we pulled up as if not to serve, but we kindly informed her it was 1:49. We would not visit Maine without stopping here again though that's for sure!!! :)

It is the best! They just made an addition to it, and now you can have breakfast there! The breakfast is great. Omelets, toast, bacon, ham, sausage, and plenty more. Or if you are in the mood for doughnuts while eating there, you can order them right at the table for breakfast. The doughnuts are the best I've ever had. I recant the blueberry fritter. And if your not a fan of fritters, try it. I know someone who didn't like fritters, and they loved it!

Just love this place. The food is always good, the service is great. Doughnuts are out of this world. The homemade corned beef hash is the best we've had anywhere in New England States. We give up the free breakfast at our hotel to go to Congdons. Highly recommend breakfast or lunch here.

Awesome as usual! Our waitress, Jade, remembered us from our visit in March. That's the kind of customer service that makes congdon's better than the competition. Oh yeah, and the Irish eggs Benedict were amazing!

I love your donuts! The only thing I would change is being open 7 days a week. I joined the rewards but lost out on my free dozen donut reward when I drove up for visit to Wells and you were closed. Oh well I still love you guys anyway!

What a great donut shop, well worth visiting! It's a good thing that there is so much parking available, because on a Monday morning this place was absolutely packed with customers. The raspberry jelly donut was a fantastic choice. If I lived closer to Wells, I would be here every day!

Other than a short wait (which was worth it btw) this place is a gem. The donuts were legit some of the best I've ever had and the breakfast sandwich was way better than what you get at those chain restaurants, I mean, the biscuit was the size of a softball! Will be going back whenever I'm in the area, it's worth the detour

The breakfast is really good. The hash is great. Do NOT order a side of hash to go. The portion is much smaller than when you sit down to eat and is to expensive for what you get. The donuts are somewhat better than chain places bit not worth the price tag.

Amazing food and donuts staff are amazing helpful and friendly ! The prices however have skyrocketed quite a bit over the last couple years it is now $27 for a Baker's dozen of donuts otherwise this place would have 5 stars all the way. I was a bit shocked that Feeding a family of 3 cost the same amount as my donuts
