Cute little shop with reasonable prices for their delicious baked goods. They do special-order cakes as well. I just stopped in for coffee and breakfast bite and have reset for about an hour working on my phone. If you're in the Bywater there's not much around at 7 a.m., check it out.

I should have written this review months ago. My mom is allergic to everything under the sun, but I wanted her to be able to eat cake on my wedding day. I spoke to Dawn and Shake Sugary made her the most beautiful dairy, soy, nut, gluten free cupcakes I have ever seen. Not to mention, they tasted like HEAVEN! I plan on getting these cupcakes made for my mom every time she comes in town. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Went for breakfast one day - the food was good but took a *long time to make and the coffee was lukewarm and I had to ask to have it heated. Upon leaving I asked how much the coffee was and was told the price and that if I bring my own container it was only a dollar. I went back another day with my own container and paid a dollar with no worries but colder than lukewarm coffee. I went back today to try them the third time and was told that the coffee is only a dollar with your own container and a purchase. I was served with the warning and, this time, actual cold coffee with ice. It was mostly ice that was visibly dirty. I thought too late to take a picture and will not be making a fourth attempt.

DELICIOUS baked eggs of several types: rancheros, with artichoke, spinach and 2 cheeses, and baked with ham, grits and cheese. The aroma of the parmesan cheese as it arrives at your table makes waiting for it to cool enough to eat a serious challenge. They offer a WIDE variety of baked goods including sweet potato maple bacon biscuits, an amazing ginger molasses cookie and a yummy blackberry iced hand pie. The pecan sticky bun is heavy with nuts and caramel. The chai (bagged) tea and cafe au lait were executed perfectly... a rarity in my experience. Overall, a DIVINE local restaurant with many delectable choices.

I was staying close by so we were getting pastries at Shake Sugary everyday for 4 days. Everything from Red Velvet Cupcake and vegetable quiche to thier poppy seed bread....just to die for. They have great breakfast choices and good coffee. Also I tried some vegan options which I am typically not a fan of and I was impresed how good it tasted. Great family atmosphere.

They made our wedding cake as well as my groom's cake and not only were the cakes jaw-dropping, they were delicious. I love this place so very much and the owner was so generous during the tasting. I highly recommend.

I have experienced two different sides of Shake Sugary. My wife is gluten free, so I have ordered a few cakes for her for birthdays. Their gluten free cake is fantastic. They have always been accommodating through the ordering process. That side of Shake Sugary has always been great. The other side of Shake Sugary, which I have not been as impressed by is eating inside. Very limited menu and seating. I wouldn't recommend eating there as a restaurant. Stick with ordering pastries and cakes to go.

Dawn at Shake Sugary was an absolute joy to work with, and our wedding cakes were the BEST! Absolutely delicious and soooo beautiful!! From the beginning, Dawn took the time to get to know us and understand exactly what we were hoping for. She made us 7 different cakes and 11 different fillings/icings for the taste test, and each one was utterly delicious!! We decided on her amaaazing strawberry cake with passionfruit curd for our wedding cake and her chocolate extravaganza (chocolate cake with mousse and ganache!) for the grooms cake. She delivered them and decorated the wedding cake with our leftover flowers, and it was all so perfect! We loved our experience with Shake Sugary and would highly recommend their cakes for any wedding or celebration!!

Not able to fulfill simple orders, poor attitude. Very slow. Actually never did get half the things we ordered. Their eggs were gross. But maybe I'm just not hip enough? UPDATE: Owner reached out after we left town and tried to make it right. Apparently the waitstaff were new.

I am so beyond excited !!!! I called out of state and all over New Orleans for some one to make my daughter a cake for Easter !!!!!!! She is allergic to MILK, SOY, AND RICE!!! These wonderful bakers are able to make a cake that my little girl can enjoy and actually have a regular desert as all the rest of the kids on Easter !!! THANK YOU guys so so much !!!!

I used this bakery for my wedding on 9/30/17. I am not from New Orleans and ordered the cake based off reviews and the photo gallery. I would recommend this bakery if you plan on having multiple weddings and the taste/texture of the cake is not important to you. If your expectations are that the cake will look like products in the photo gallery, this would not be the vendor for you. If you want your guests to say that the cake is OKAY, you have made the perfect selection. I gave this site two stars because it was a cake, it was ready on time and we used it for the wedding. We picked it up within hours of the wedding and we had no other choice. So please use this company if you want to cry on your wedding day.

My wife and I ate here on our trip across country. We were staying in the Bywater and wanted some veggie/vegan options. The place had probably one of the meanest ‘hipster’ front counter help I’d ever seen and stared at is the entire time making the dine in awkward. She seemed indifferent and miserable being there. Second the vegan biscuits and gravy were the absolute slimiest worst order ever. I mean come on Shake Sugary, have you ever sat down and tried to eat that gloop. I’ve been a veggie vegan for 25 years, I’m not new to this food. It is atrocious. I don’t write reviews very often but was compelled to write this.

The goods in the bake case looked phenomenal and so did the cake that a customer came to pick up, but i must say i only had a cup of coffee and this was coffee done right, a hot, fresh cup and smooth, bold blend. They were sweet and refilled my cup for free when i had to run and take my cup to go. I hope to go back.
