You will see all the opinions of people like you who consumed the products of la Madeleine French Bakery & Cafe Shreveport (Bakery) near to the state of Louisiana.
To this day this firm gets a score of 4.3 out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 404 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is very good, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the rating is quite faithful. If people have bothered to value when they are satisfied with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to set opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Bakery belongs to the category of Bakery.
The food was fantastic! The Turkey and Gouda sandwich was amazing!!! Their lemon cake is to die for! Only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because the cashier was a little rude.
Food is terrible. The prices are outrageous. Its like a cafeteria. However, there is a nice fire pit on the patio.
Fantastic food and service
Everything is good that I have tried.
The ordering process is a complete cluster f**k. The menu does not specify the different order options which is confusing and a turn off. The food was mediocre. I've enjoyed authentic French cuisine before and this place just did not measure up. Truly disappointed especially since I was so excited to experience this place.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Love the chicken parisien, complimetary bread, drinking glasses, and fireplace. Great place for kids and an outdoor patio. Good stuff!
I'm so glad La Madeline finally opened in Shreveport. I've been a customer since their opening of the 1st location in NOLA. The port city location now features all day breakfast and is a great place to nosh. I recommend you try the unique pastries, yummy quiches, and baguettes which are to die for!
Wonderful experience! Delicious, filling meals! And reasonably priced. VERY friendly staff. We'll definitely look for another chance to come back from north Bossier!
I love the atmosphere and the food is good. Friendly staff
The place was packed at Sunday brunch, but we got our food in a reasonable amount of time. More staff was needed to help clean the dining area. The food is rich and good (expect butter, cream or cheese in everything). You can't ignore the pastry display and it's tempting to take a loaf of bread home. It's well decorated and homey. The French lessons playing in the bathroom were a little silly, but you can understand they are going for the amusement park style of themed eating. Covered outdoor seating is available. Ordering is done at the counter. You will need to get your own cold beverages, napkins, and silverware. Free bread and jam holds you over while you wait for the food to be brought to your table. Multiple frantic servers run around searching for the wooden spoon engraved with the correct number. Overall it brands itself a little fancier than it is, but the food is good and it's a comfortable spot to spend some time.
Always a winner with our family. The kids love the pizza and pasta. I don’t know how they make their waffles but they are amazing. If you haven’t been you’re missing out!
The place was clean and neat. Food was great. Service was good, this is a nice place to eat if you love to be around a lot of people it gets busy.
Hate the soup but liked the sandwich
this cafe is the perfect place for breakfast or lunch. My wife had a parfait and I had bacon and eggs with a croissant and everything was excellent. Their endless bread was fantastic.
Nice place for breakfast and lunch! Food and service are always good!
Healthy options and good coffee. Wasn't too crowded, and employees were helpful.
Double sided fire place is nice.
Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, clean fresh new building. No complaint here
Excellent French cuisine! Great service!!
Easy to access location. Good, hot food. No waitress. Prices a bit high for having to wait on myself and children. But will definitely go again.
Food is very tasty. Some of the staff seem to be miserable, but the service is good.
Excellent food. Very friendly staff, but for the amount of business...they need more seating. We love it there. Except for seating space it's great
Where to begin...let's see...no one had a clue what was going on, staff and management were moronic at best. Typical Shreveport service, many customers just leaving because of the staffs failure to simply communicate. I'll be back one day most likely to try it again but first impression was TERRIBLE! I use to love la Madeleine's in Baton Rouge when I lived there, so many wonderful dishes and the bread to die for. Hopefully the Shreveport location can get their head out of their ass and run a restaurant.
It was so romantic here, me and my husband love it here, Chiyenne, Lexi, and the whole staff met us with a warm boul of creamy potato soup, and a nice potato and stew in a bowl with a glass of blush wine.
I got the French toast and a croissant. Absolutely the most perfect thing ever. Note I did get it to go and it comes with fruit. I had the fruit on the side
We just had coffee and burnt cheese cake. The coffee was regular. Burnt cheese cake was awesome!!! Would like to visit again!
Service is great and the food is wonderful!
The Tomato Basil soup is the best ever!
Yes it's a franchise but it truly does have a variety of delicious options. If you have never been here the tomato soup is a must try because it gets that much more addictive with every bite. They also serve a variety of desserts. It is similar to a franchise like Panera but with a little more flavor. Also, a great place for a date.
This was our first time to dine here and it was delicious. The staff was very nice and service was quick. I can't wait to try their lunch menu
Friendly staff! Staff answered questions about menu professionally! Nice atmosphere - Fire place was quaint! Drink bar is a very congested area! Things were a bit unorganized with service - delivery; good bit of confusion! Crepe was a bit charred! Potato patti's were a bit burnt around edges! Flavor of the food was very good! Sweet Tea is very sweet (A+). Iced coffee was great (A+). Overall breakfast for 3 = $32....a bit pricy! Overall Grade B- ....Staff Friendliness / Quality Flavor of food was difference in not being lower grade! I would return for another visit!
First visit to la Madeleine's in Shreveport. Like other places in the area lack of detail and presentation is an apparent difference between here and other la Madeleine's I visited in other cities. Quiche Florentine was tasty but barely lukewarm. Blueberry muffins and Apple turnover the best part of the visit. Coffee bar was well stocked and condiments were plentiful. Disappointed with the potato side, pretty much a greasy hashbrown patty. All in all even with its drawbacks and being under par for these stores, it's an oasis in the northwest LA food scene... so try it.
Absolutely love this bistro!!!! And the $5 mimosas....you basically get 2 mimosas for $5. Unless you're like me. Then you get one mimosa and one glass of plain OJ.
We ate dinner at La Madeleine's this evening, taking advantage of the 'kids eat free on Wednesdays' deal. Chicken Crêpes Riviera was good, very flavorful. The sampler with tomato soup, chicken salad and strawberry pecan salad was very good as well. The cheese pizza was eaten in its entirety. The only thing I would critique this evening is that it took a bit long for someone to come clear the table. Very pleasant experience overall.
I know it's a chain, but I love this place. The tomato soup is The. Best. Ever. Everything else on the menu is good too.
Very good. Quick service. Nice atmosphere.
Absolutely delicious. I had an amazing chicken ceasar sandwich. Kettle style chips and the strawberries were very fresh. If you're looking for a great alternative to fast food, l highly recommend this restaurant.
Good place to eat. Upper end French restaurant.
Delicious food, and friendly staff
I haven't tried many dishes here, but what I have tried has been delicious. The service has been great, and I've always enjoyed my overall experience!
Amazing please as a date or with the kids. Very nice and excellent food.
My wife loves this place. I'm only impressed by the tomato soup.
I hope they get it together soon. Poor communication between staff and guests. Were billed for three meals we didn't order. Totally confusing ordering system with little guidance from staff. One staff member putting orders in a tablet near the entry door and one cashier ringing up orders at the cash register. There were 5 in our dinner party. I was the last to the cashier. She said "I already got your order sir." I replied "I haven't ordered from anybody! How would you know what I want?" She insisted she was right so I asked her "What did I order?" She couldn't tell me correctly. After we all had our meals and were enjoying our food, they brought 3 more meals out that we didn't order....but had paid for. On the upside. Food was good. I had the Cranberry and Pecan Wild Field salad and a shrimp and pasta dish. Very good. Brightly lit. Family friendly. Not a romantic place as the lighting is quite high. Fireplace was nice. But...I probably won't be back real soon. Too many choices nearby to put up with confused staff and below average service. If they fix the training issues, I'll go back as the food was good.
Service was excellent. Great menue.
Their tomato basil soup is in a league of it's own. Enjoy the all you can eat bread and jam as well
The decor fits the theme of a french bakery. I really loved the indoor firplace, and would love to return when the outdooor fireplace is in use.Our breakfast was delicious. The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy, the croissant was flakey, and the potatoes were nicely seasoned. There were 3 selections of coffee. I tried the dark roast and it was very good. The staff was very friendly, and more than one of them stopped by our table to see if we needed anything.Overall, it was a warm and welcoming environment. I finished my meal with the caramel creme brulee, and it was amazing.
Its a very confusing system. One person was at the door with a tablet taking orders, but then you have to walk down a cafeteria style line of people asking if you want salad or soup. There is no direction from anyone as to what you are supposed to do. I ordered the French breakfast with eggs overhard and ham. My eggs were barely cooked, leaking yolk all over the plate like the last wounded warrior of an egg crusade. The ham was cold shaved deli meat. The hot water for my tea was unlabeled, so very confusing to find. My husband's pesto chicken sandwich was refrigerator stone cold, which muddled all the flavors and gave the pesto a horrible mouth feel. The French onion soup was barely saved by a crispy crouton topper, but was, again, disappointing, overly salted and oily. We will try to give Le Madeleine another chance at some point, but not for several more months. I hope they get their act together.
Food was obviously prepacked and reheated. Floppy mushy pasta, overly salty turkey, grainy mashed potatoes. The service was lacking as well. No one explained to us how to order or that the chicken / shrimp part of the pasta was optional. The sea salt baguette that came with my dish was the only enjoyable part of the meal. My husband and I gave up on the food and split the bread between us.
We took my mom out here for Mothers Day, and it was EXCELLENT !! Great food, service AND ambience...loved it !
Has a very Panera Bread vibe, but fresher food and pastries to die for!
Absolutely delicious food selection. Warm inviting atmosphere. Beautiful delacate desserts. Not expensive like you might think. Highly recommend.
Always an amazing experience in everyway... the food is amazing, the service is friendly and the mango tea is something I always look forward 2!
Always amazing
Love their Brunch.
Absolutely great stop for snack with coffer. Perfection in flavor & desserts as well as ambiance for quiet to talk or read. Shreveport area so very well rounded with restaurants to please to everyone's taste.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was good. Outdoor movie on the big screen was nice.
Loud with kids, good food
Today I came the second time, after I enjoyed my first visit. I ordered the exact same sandwich and this time, the bread was old and tasteless. It was a mozzarella sandwich that came with two side dishes. The first time the bread was excellent and I ate it all up. Today I had to toss most of the bread and just ate the underside with the mozzarella and tomato pieces. The sides were good both times. I enjoyed sitting outside at the fireplace. A nice gesture is, that you can take sliced bread, butter and strawberry jam for free. I wish there were more choices for vegetarians. What about sandwiches with french cheese? Maybe brie? Or camembert? The ordering system is a bit confusing, so I just passed by the lady with the ipad and ordered at the cash registry. The service was good and friendly. I like the app that gives you points for each visit.
Really enjoyed the salmon lentil stew. Pleasant atmosphere. Workers were nice but could be more professional. We will return.
Good food. The way you ordered strange and can be confusing if its your first time there
Great small place with multiple options
Food is wonderful, soup amazing, as were the tarts. Coffee is incredible, however, we wanted all in take out and the two woman working this area were super rude, and filled my take out coffee half full. Asking them to give me the large I ordered was like pulling hairs. They also did not provide a container for the tart, despite asking them to do so. I would have given this place 5 stars, but honestly, rude behavior, rolling eyes as your customers, and socializing about your weekend while customers stand there waiting for your attention and you glare at them from the corner of your eyes - not cool.
Enjoyed having lunch with my daughter and her classmates. The environment is so warm and welcoming and the food is delicious. This was my first time eating here and it was a great overall experience. I highly recommend
We ate lunch at La Madeleine today, and it was delicious! Mr. Robert Shaver was so nice to me, my sister and my mom. I highly recommend this location for anyone, for any meal at any time! The desserts were especially a treat! :) I hope to go back very soon.
Love breakfast here. Great service and great atmosphere. You could eat off the floors.
Exquisite French restaurant in Shreveport. Loved every second of our delicious meal & the wait staff was very accommodating. Adequate parking & a pleasure on a hot day. We will absolutely return.
Had a great salad there. Turkey pecans cranberries with a balsamic dressing. The French onion soup was good. The cheese is not baked on the bowl. I like the potato and mushroom soup better.
Just a lunch diner. Did not like the fact you stood by door to look at menu. People confused what to do. It was bar where you told them what you wanted. Like a buffet bar. Not impressed.
Always enjoy la Mad. Good food and ambiance. Great pastries for desert.
We went this morning for a Father's Day brunch. The place was not busy at all, so we decided this would be a good place to eat. The manager/owner/operator greeted us as we arrived, which was nice. I got an omelette, my wife got a French breakfast, 2 coffees, and an orange juice. The bill was $30! A bit high for standing in line to order and filling my own coffee. My rule of thumb is if I order while standing in line, I don't tip. We wanted some water, and I could catch any employee's eye, so I wound up walking up to the end of the counter and got my own glasses for water. I filled the water glasses myself, and as I was making my way outside, an employee rushed in through the door as i held the door open FOR HIM! My hands are full of water glasses! My wife watched all of this with amazement and shocked at the manners. The food was meh. The ham was thin sliced and may have just been lunch meat. I would have enjoyed picante sauce on my omelette (we are from Texas, ha), but I searched the self-serve area and only found Tabasco, and of course, there were no employees available. Perhaps they know that they will be getting no tip, and behave appropriately. Not that important. I just ate my meal is-is. A toaster would have been nice in the bread area. We will be coming to Shreveport frequently for medical reasons, but this la Madeline unfortunately will not be one of our restaurants. They could do better.
Seemed like some employees were a little confused.
Absolutely love breakfast, and sandwiches! Banquettes are fantastic!
Went for my birthday March 21st. Loved it. Very friendly staff and such a cute place. Can't wait to go back.
An awesome selection of unique items for your sweet tooth! Pair that with excellent service and well...my vote is there! All about customer service!
AMAZING chocolate almond croissants!
Beautiful place and good food. Friendly service. Nice place to go.
Very beautiful inside with great French cuisine. A bit of wait but that's because it's a brand new spot. Good brunch place.
Great atmosphere and decor. Great French feel, especially the French lessons in the restroom--hilarious. Most of the food is great, and I like the complimentary bread. I recommend anything on the menu except for one thing. The only thing that's poor, and this is unfortunate, is the quiche. All of it is too much of the custard and too little of the distinctive ingredients of each variety. I hope they change that someday.
Great food.
Great food, friendly Staff! The atmosphere is very nice.
I have have visited your restaurant four times. The best performance was mediocre. I have been served quiche that tasted like salt. Today however was the worst experience any dinner could encounter. I tried to order oatmeal. When it arrived, it was room temperature and, naturally, full of lumps. To carried my bowl to one of the managers who asked if I wanted a refund. I did. He went to the cash register, with my debit card and scanned in the amount of the oatmeal. That was the end of the transaction. I paused for a moment, shrugged it off and returned to my seat to wait for my wife to finish her meal. I wondered if this level of dissatisfaction had become so common it was really unremarkable.
I've never enjoyed trying new things as much here. Everything I tried was delicious, and the staff was super friendly. Very clean and wonderful decor. Prices were great! We got out for 30$ for 3 people and we all got soup, sandwiches and pasta
This place has been packed with people since it opened and I can't see why! Jason's Deli is much better and far cheaper plus you can see what they're doing in the kitchen at Jasons. I hate the whole setup which is confusing. You tell the girl standing at the front and she either takes your order or she flags you to the cafeteria style lineup. Then you go and seat yourself. The servers have to hunt you down through several seating areas to bring your good. Totally dumb and the food isn't even warm.
Best service! Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiche, dessert and bread were amazing.
Food is always fresh. It's been a family favorite for 20 years!
Great store
Wonderful selection of food items.
The way you order is confusing and the staff was not helpful until one young man came out and showed us everything we needed and everything we might want without his help we would have left. The food was average I had really looked forward to eating there and was very disappointed. To call itself a French bakery is a insult to other true bakeries French or not.the sandwich was good because the cheese was good but I can get that sandwich anywhere. It was my mother's day dinner and had been looking forward to them coming to shreveport. I hope things improve because I would really like to have a good bakery not another sandwich shop.
Food was good. Would give a 5 but the potatoes were a little over cooked and my daughter's crepes were over cooked.
This place look so fancy & pretty but the Food is not Fresh ,we tried the quiche and was so dry .
I was looking forward to trying this place as I have heard so many good things, but my experience left me very dissatisfied. The restaurant is staffed almost entirely by young kids who were not very welcoming and unfortunately botched my order. When my correct order came out, it appeared carelessly slapped together. Needless to say it will be very unlikely that I will be returning any time soon.
Friendly staff, delicious food, fast service, nice atmosphere.
Food was great
Wednesday is kids eat free night. Staff and owners are fantastic!! Nice patio area to eat outside and plenty of delicious handmade treats for afterwards.
Great food great price
Delicious options for pastries and baked goods
Food was good. Seems like you are paying more for the place than the food. The place was neat and clean. Nice staff.
Good quick food. With a warm atmosphere.
Love the soup. Better value than Panera, though I prefer Panera's bread. The line seems to be slow and arduous, like, I hope it's just getting the kinks out of a new restaurant. The coffee is strong, which is unusual for coffee places.
Always friendly and great food. You must try any dessert!
Service is outstanding. Great menu (French) and the food was outstanding.
Loved what we had. Will go back again.
Love this place
About a dozen of my friends and I, our Bible Study group, just had lunch there. Oh My!!! Delicious, amazing, wonderful wait staff, separate room for our group. I wish that I could eat here 4x a week!!!!
I was surprised by the food it was pretty good the price is in the middle range not too expensive but not cheap either they have a very big selection
Great taste...
A favorite place to eat! The Shreveport location is excellent. My chicken friand and tomato basil soup was very tasty. We've eaten at six la Madeleine locations in Texas and Louisiana. The quality is consistent from place to place. Be sure to stop by the pastry case to pick up something to take home.
The deserts were amazing! Plan to spend a bit; it's worth it!
Good food ,prices and great service.
Had these waffles and it had to have been made by a god
I have moved from Shreveport but we take friends from Oklahoma back to Shreveport when we can and one of my friends said if he lived there would eat breakfast in this fine establishment every day
Great food. Friendly staff.
Fabulous everytime!
Service was great and the food was fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go back again. A nice escape from the ordinary. Great job.
The food was good but a little pricey. Didn't understand what to do when we got there, you have to look at the menu before going up to order at the counter and I still didn't get what I wanted correct. They have a lot of pastries and they are decent, but not like what you would get in Paris. The bus boy was helpful and courteous.
It reminds me of a Panera Bread but more expensive? It's OK
Great service, great atmosphere and wonderful food. We had the Croque Monsieur and the Chicken Salad Croissant which were both extremely tasty! We will definitely be returning and we highly recommend visiting!!
Very good food and quick service. The bakery is top-notch and the food is well prepared. We took our son here and he had lots to choose from and we all enjoyed it.
Lovely place to sit and enjoy bruch
I love this place for breakfast and also afternoon coffee and pastry. Friendly service.
Nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed the fireplaces! The food was delicious and tasted fresh.
Food is delicious, cozy atmosphere, fresh food, very friendly staff
Walking into the place first impression was this is a fast food place. I was totally wrong. In fact I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food is. The flavors were in every bite and the portions were just right. The staff was super friendly and answered every question with a smile. We'll definitely be back.
The food was quite amazing. The beef stew in particular. As well as a number of breakfast items. Staff was always nice and willing to help. Very clean restraunt and bathrooms. The only odd thing is when the line gets long it blocks the main dining room and backs out of the door, making entering the place awkward.
Terrible service and food!!! Not like the service in Dallas Galleria. All employees look like they need a dental plan with this establishment. If they aren't druggies, then I guess Shreveport doesn't put fluoride in their city water system!! Beware....save your money!!!
Food and atmosphere is great!
Almond Croissant and coffee. Excellent service
Passing through town; clean, courteous, Mgr actively involved greeting, helping anywhere needed and doing table visits making sure folks taken care of Very refreshing
First trip to La Madeleine. Ready nice atmosphere. Food was really good and large portions. You go through a line ordering what you like. After you pay they have self server on bread and drinks. Trays can be heavy with glass dinner ware and drinks. Staff could have been a little more friendly. I will be back and would recommend it.
A friendly staff serving amazing food!
Great Place. What a great atmosphere. Food is wonderful and staff is well trained.
I mostly go for the pastries. They are delicious. I used to go all the way to Plano, TX so I was very happy when they opened in Shreveport.
GREAT place to eat! Staff is so friendly, the owner is always personally on site. Delicious food, quick service, yes yes yes!!! Plus they have a classic FREE movie on a 26 foot screen every weekend! Come out!
Great breakfast, beautiful dining room & fireplace.
Food is always really tasty. They have a few vegetarian options but not very many vegan options. Overall I really enjoy the food and atmosphere. I love going here on a cool rainy day and sitting outside on the patio. The outdoor fireplace is lovely. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the fact that the line system to order is always confusing but that's at no fault of the people who work there or the quality of the food. Just a weird design.
Always the best French food you can get. We drive an hour and a half to get here just because my wife loves it so much. If you don’t like French food they always have pizza as a backup.
Nice service
I have been three times, and each time they are better. It was a new build with new employees so a learning curve is expected. The food is high quality and a nice change from other franchises. I love it.
I was looking forward to getting a nice french croissant this morning. well, the server put the wrong ones in my bag. didn't discover until I got home. also, the croissants were "chewy" rather than flaky and buttery. I can get better ones that come frozen that I bake myself. big disappointment.
Coconut Cake is wonderful. Please be cautious of the order online app. I will never use it again. It processed the order twice getting it resolved was no easy task. It basically took higher levels to get refunded by the owner weeks later. A customers word was not enough and no one ever said what they would do to fix the ordering issue.
It is a good. Friendly. Place. Meals can be as large. Or small as you. Wish cdresd is. Casual good place ve if you need lsolutitutiogfinf you s little and stake it it out. Must go need to che CI imperialal cafe. Secret ssucesresonalr. Love it. Thanks
Take out makes life a lot easier. Food was good as usual.
Highly recommend. We love this place and eat there every Wednesday.
Uhmm the best creme brulee
Great food people will constantly check to make sure your doing good.
After all the buzz, really expected more in the way of great food. Nice to have another choice for breakfast, but will not be a regular.
First time visit, was pleasantly surprised!
The food was really good. The owners hands on involvement was refreshing.
nice atmosphere. food was good.crowded at lunchtime.
Awesome food and service. Great breakfast. Love the baked goods. Great coffees. Located on fern by Frank's pizza. Near 70th St. Best desserts around. Love the fireplaces.
Just not as good as ones in Dallas
Amazing food, I love sitting next to their fire when it's cold.
Creme Brulee is amazing as always
One word...EXCELLENT
Good store. Stopped for desert. Ended up leaving with bagett and desert. Comfortable store.
Good food at a good price. I recommend the Spicy Eggs Basque
Loved it!
Always great food no matter what day you go here. Staff is polite and friendly.
