I don't know how it is normally but when we went they were out of everything - quiche, chicken, spinach, sourdough bread - well actually every type of bread except rye (supposedly). Everything I could eat was sold out so I tried to simply get granola & yogurt so I could just put something on my stomach to avoid medical issues but it wasn't "brunch" time so they COULDN'T/WOULDN'T put that together either, even considering there was pretty much nothing else left. Well later I did see a different kind of bread come out besides rye, yet I was told I had to have a grilled cheese on rye bread. Very unhelpful - actually staff was completely oblivious to how unhelpful they were.

Walked in to a pleasant greeting from the staff. The menu is very easy to read and has a wide selection of drinks and sandwiches and pastries. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and smoked turkey sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious with the bread being the the highlight of the sandwiches. Baked fresh with a slight crunch on the exterior but soft and full of flavor inside of the buns. I would come here again whenever I have a chance.

First time in this shop. They had a quite an array of beautiful looking pastries. I had an almond croissant. It was flaky, buttery and generous amount of almond filling. I have had plain and Pain au chocolate at other Gracious. Their croissant are by far the best in NOLA.

Great small bakery. Had to keep changing my order because they were out of most of their sandwich breads and some cheeses. My sandwich, Turkey and pesto, was amazing on green onion focaccia! Service was good, but I felt sorry them having to tell the customers what they were out of. They need to step up the baking!

Delicious, delicious, delicious!! Stumbled across this little gem while walking around the Garden District. It's sort-of a mashup of bakery-coffee shop-bodega, as you can pick up a pastry, cake, espresso, or even a beer. Everything we ordered was absolutely perfect and yummy. We will definitely stop in to indulge our sweet dreams next time we visit New Orleans.

Latte was more of a cappuccino, the eggs on my breakfast sandwich were wet, which created a layer of mushy bread and made the sandwich inedible due to texture violations. I started gagging half way thru.

Gracious is the best. The elderberry iced tea is delicious and I've never ordered anything there I didn't like. The bouchon bites are especially great, awesome for a dessert tray or just getting a little chocolate fix without overdoing it. The staff are always really nice, too! I haven't ordered beer or wine there yet but the selection seems pretty decent.

Tasty pastries (I had a chocolate and almond croissant--why has no one else ever put these flavors together? DELISH!) and good coffee. Service was quick and friendly. In a great little residential area of St. Charles and near Lafayette cemetery. Also had their challah buns at Avenue Pub and they were great!

You have not had good coffee until you’ve been here. Take it from a coffee addict/ex barista with 5+ years of NON- Starbucks experience. I have NEVER tasted better. And, to top it off, their pastries are delectable. They are exactly the taste in your mouth that you crave when you think of the ideal pastry. The exact texture, and scent of heaven. Whatever you’re doing, drop it and come snag you a slice or cup of liquid sunshine. Also the staff is sweet and patient. Go.

Gracious Bakery and Cafe is a nice place on St. Charles Avenue. The servers are very friendly and I was impressed with their soup of the day. The sandwiches look hefty and amazing, especially the caprese. They have wonderful choices of cream cheese: salmon, roasted veggie or lemon caper. The prices are kind of high.

This location is inferior to the original on Jeff Davis Pkwy. They have instant "vending" machines for the espresso drinks, and there are a lot of tourists always, so be prepared to wait. Also there is never anywhere to park. A good option for those on foot, especially since it's on St Charles Ave.

My husband went to new Orleans for our honeymoon and we just so happen to see this place on the trolley and decided to get off, and it was by far the best decision we made for our entire honeymoon. It's been a few years since our honeymoon, and we still talk about this place and the dish that we had. This is an absolutely legendary bakery and I recommend absolutely everyone that is going to new Orleans and gonna be on the trolley to at least stop by and get a croissant if you're not gonna get anything else.
