You have the opinions of real people who consumed the services of Breads On Oak (Bakery) in the state of Louisiana.
At present this firm gets a rating of 4.7 stars over 5 and that score has been calculated on 462 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is nearly the top, and it's based on a very high number of reviews, so we can think that the assessment is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to leave their feddback when they are satisfied with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Bakery is included in the category of Bakery.
This was my go-to neighborhood spot for a nice baguette, but for some reason which boggles the mind, they have gotten rid of the baguette in favor of a higher cost option as yet another thinly veiled attempt at gouging customers of their money. :( :( :( rip
Super cool place, with very healthy selection of breads, coffee, pastries!
Beautiful place with wonderful staff. Everything was delicious, and a great variety. All vegan is a pleasant surprise.
Ok this might be the best bread ever. Brioche is supple and yummy. The biscuit sandwiches are INSANE!!! I like the fake meat and cheese more than the real thing. Pumpkin biscuit! So so incredible.
Wonderful place! Nice people, great service, great food!! It is vegan, but this guy had no issue at all finding something delicious to eat. Will will will go back!
My french toast was 7 dollars and it had the texture of beef fat. The tea biscuits were really good though. Service was great. I'll come back for some more tea biscuits.
The bread is fantastic, they're happy to let you sample soup and sometimes they have free bread and spreads out. Cookies, brioche, and the gf brownie are ALL delicious. Cozy little environment and very friendly staff. I keep going back!
Amazing vegan cafe & bakery! Everything we tried was fantastic
Damn that's good bread! I happened to go on a Sunday... which is the right day to go because they had out a buffet of all the different kinds of bread and some butters to go with them. The cultured butter on the olive bread was fantastic, and all the breads were great. They insisted that the cultured butter was vegan, but it was still some of the best butter I've ever had.
We tried this place for the first time today and we got one of every gluten free/vegan item they had. They were all so very tasty, the biggest surprise of them was the coconut rosemary. The texture and flavor was really great! They had so many other options that were vegan but not gluten free. The whole family found something to enjoy! Next time I'm in town I will make sure I start my trip here!
It's amazing food, period. If you are unsure about vegan, don't be. This food is so delicious.
Excellent vegan/vegetarian selections! Great service and food!!
Awesome vegan breakfast and more!
All vegan so not really my kind of place.
First visit, reasonable prices, many vegan choices, will return again.
Great Coffee. Take a moment to sit in the back patio and enjoy yer cup of joe. The cookies were delectable! Friendly staff. Located far from the bustle of the french quarter. Reachable via streetcar and a small stroll.
It's cute, quaint and quiet. It keeps earlier hours but the food is good. There are several gluten free options and vegan options. I like how most of the ingredients are listed on the item's label, but if not, just ask a staff member and they will tell you exactly what's in a dish. They are knowledgeable and kind. It's a place I like to go.
Great place for a plant based meal! All if their food is plant based, all vegan. The burger that I ordered was so delicious as well as filling.
My wife and I tried out this small, laid back restaurant where the atomosphere is comfortable. The people there are extremely pleasant and hospitable. We ordered a cinnamon roll and sausage biscuits, and we were absolutely amazed. For this to be vegan, it was delicious and light. Although we were full, we didn't feel guilty. We will definitely be back. We are looking forward to trying the Impossible burger.
This place was Vegan Heaven!! I literally had to ask the staff if everything was in fact vegan because it seems too good to be true. I wish I lived here so I good enjoy this beautiful place daily! We took some stuff for the road!
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
The most delicious and creative plant based pastries.
I couldn't believe everything here was vegan! Simply amazing. The brioche and the biscuits are unbelievable.
I come here every year for my Birthday...that’s how awesome this bakery is to me. When we have guest that take our tour and ask about vegan options this bakery is on top of my list. I wondered in today and had the Pumpkin Cheddar Biscuit and the Peanut Butter Blondie. Their consistency never fails to amaze. Their eats are delicious and begs the question...is this really vegan? As an added bonus I chatted with the owner and learned that she painted a print that hung in my apartment for over a decade. She has this amazing cat series with a cat posing at different iconic New Orleans locations. I decided to get a postcard of the cat having coffee at Breads on Oaks outdoor seating. (The post cards are by the register). Thanks y’all! Visiting your bakery is always a treat! Eric Owner of Flambeaux Bicycle Tours
Honestly BEST bakery I have ever been too. I enjoy each and every one of their desserts and their staff is always so sweet and helpful. Only reason I didnt give them 5/5 is because the olive loaf needs more olive!!!!!!
Interesting products, just know it's a plant based establishment.
Bakeries like this are usually hard to come by outside of Seattle and San Francisco. I was thrilled to find one in New Orleans. I was celebrating my own mini Pumpkin Palooza so I got a Pumpkin Brioche and a Pumpkin Biscuit with scrambled tofu that was Outstanding! Service was excellent and the bakery has so many nice nooks and crannies if you’re alone, as well as bigger tables if you’re in a group.
Terribly overpriced. 7 dollar biscuits and 16 dollar burgers that are both extremely lacking, and never even received the side we ordered. Worst place I've had breakfast in the city in over a year eating out. Zotz down the street is so much better!
Hurricane Barry was moving in but these nice people opened up early on Saturday and made our morning. Delicious iced coffee and fantastic almond butter croissant. mucho gracias :)
This is a wonderful little 100% vegan cafe that makes just about everything in-house, including all their breads. There's a ton of options for sandwiches and baked goods on the menu to choose from. My dad had the veggie quiche, which was really good, although the dough was slightly soggy. I had the shrimp and crab cake sandwich (made of heart of palm and chickpeas), also delicious. The seeded brioche bun it came on was amazing--great taste and texture. I wish there had been more pickles, though; they were so good! We also bought a baguette to take home that was excellent. Very much recommend trying this place out, even if you aren't vegan or even vegetarian.
If you're on Oak Street, make sure you stop by this incredible bakery. Everything I've had here so far has been awesome. Highly recommend the Pumpkin Cheddar Biscuit, the Cajun Cheese Brioche and also any of their sweets! Actually, just go ahead and try everything because while I haven't had it yet I'm sure it's all delicious.
Such amazing breads, pastries, sandwiches and salads! Def best in NOLA!
Absolutely delicious! One of the guys inside took time out of his day to tell us all about his favorite local vegan restaurants. Can't wait to try them out!
Wow! What can I say? This place is amazing! We tried the Muffannada and the Happy Hen! Both were amazing but the Muffannada was spectacular. It’s a cozy spot, warm and inviting staff, plus wonderful vegan options!! I’d come back in a heartbeat!
The best vegan food in NOLA and their coffee is pretty amazing too. The shop cats are also 10/10 great, would definitely pet again.
This place is phenomenal, stopped in during a road trip and am now writing this review months later because I just found myself raving about it to a friend. Just about ordered one of everything on the way out.
I had the friendly pig and it was fantastic. The coffee was great and got to meet the owner before we left. Great guy and really love his enthusiasm for their amazing little spot.
I worked here for 3 months and it is honestly the BEST PLACE to work. It is super laid back and everyone is an adult. They understand that sometimes life happens and you have to call in. I got a card for my birthday and it was the most …
I don't go to places like that usually but it was super tasty and worth the change of scenery
Excellent vegan breads and sandwiches.
Wonderful place with amazing breads, food and pastries, and an amazing owner and staff
Live this place! So many breads and awesome vegan biscuits.
This is an all vegan bakery and cafe. You can purchase artisan breads from here along with a variety of pastries, breakfast sandwiches, regurlar sandwiches and burgers. The impossible burger is sold here as well. The staff is super friendly. It's a very popular place so the tables inside are normally full. There is a small outdoor area where you can sit curbside and enjoy a quick bite.
Not bad but expensive for not having a lot of size to it. People who like sandwiches and bread will enjoy it, but I would save the money.
We liked the food. Quiche and the crawfish brioche was good.. The staff was very friendly and inviting.
they had great vegan options and really tasty coffee. the staff was also friendly. would recommend to a friend
Enjoyed their breads. They bake and sell fresh bread there and throughout the restaurants in New Orleans. There's other dishes they sell quiche and some sandwiches and soups I enjoyed my dining experience there and return over and over.
Amazing. Great for breakfast especially. Very friendly staff!
This place is awesome. The majority of this menu offers vegan options. As well has some other dietary needs like gluten-free. The food is amazing and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
Best vegan bakery I’ve been to, and I seek them out voraciously
The best vegan brioche ever. Don’t get the impossible burger though, it was overdone, no crusty surface, and bland. Nothing like any impossible burger I have ever had. Stick to the bakery items, they are amazing.
Yummy! Common rolls!
Their pricey King cakes were terrible. Haven't tried anything else.
I've been here a few times now, and if you are a vegan in New Orleans, this place is a must stop. You can't go wrong with any of their brioche flavors and the lunch food is great too. Also the picked broccoli that comes on the side of sandwiches is actually magic.
Incredible selection of breads, sandwiches, pastries and cookies. Very vegetarian and vegan friendly. Very nice, quick service and casual ambience. Worth the trip from French quarter to oak street. Oak street has an array of cafes and shops if you want to take a stroll after the meal !!
Fantastic vegan sandwiches and pastries. Very friendly staff. If you are vegan this place is a must go. Even if you are not vegan, you will love the immense flavor of all items at this place! A New Orleans gem and a testament to the diversity of food options in this great city!
Did not have any wheat or grain breads only white. Said they sell out quick. My suggestion was to make more if all that is left at lunchtime is white
Amazingly delicious food. Super friendly staff. Fun and comfortable atmosphere. We went close to closing with a large group and they were super accommodating. Their in house burgers are delicious, but we also tried their melt with the impossible burger and it was IMPOSSIBLY delicious. We would have each ordered a second if it wasn't for the fact that they were already closing up the kitchen! We ended up buying out the rest of their baked goods and eating them on the road. Also... All vegan and all delicious!
Fabulous sourdough loaves freeze well
100 percent vegan and good quality ingredients. Rated number one bakery on Louisiana. Has all the right French pastries and the prices aren't bad at all. This is the only place to get an authentic french baguette in New Orleans.
Very tasty sandwiches. And wide selection of delicious breads and pasteries. Good coffee too
Super cozy and cute place. The food was good and the service was great. We sat outside in the courtyard where there are a few street cats who are very friendly. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our food and getting to pet some cats.
The place is very clean. The few breads that I tried were excellent. The staff is all right, though one girl was a bit short with me. The prices are on the high side, but they do tend to attract the wealthier customer.
Adorable little bakery with a great selection of vegan baked goods and sandwiches. Recently we took a group of non-vegans for brunch and they were wowed by how good the food was.
I love this bakery! Great lunch and breakfast menu too!
Delicious place to eat. There bread is to die for
Even if you are not vegan, you will leave here more than satisfied! Fabulous sour dough hard crust bread. Great pastries.
They need to update the menu. We were told they were all vegan but since the menu said beef hamburger, we assumed that meant the bread. However, it was a beet patty. The bread was good, but I didn't like the beet patty. Not sure what vegan cheese is either.
I'll start by saying that the quiche and burger we had here were...fine. Nothing special, nothing to go back for. But the crossiant. Now that's something that I'll return for again and again when we visit New Orleans. I offered a bite to my friend, and I lost half my croissant, because he didn't want to give it back (it's that delicious!). The pastries are definitely the standout here, and major props to them for veganizing croissants successfully, which isn't an easy thing to do at all!
This is one of those places where I inwardly questioned.. is this really vegan? ... It is! The whole menu is vegan! The Croque Monsieur is like a French cheesy ham cheese pastry cheese thing. Cheese. Vegan? Cheese. Damn. There is a very cute back courtyard with tables and umbrellas and cats. I got a bunch of treats (cookies, scones, cake etc...) to go. Had a yummy cold brew as well. Highly recommend.
Friendly employees! Great food! Great atmosphere! A little cramped when the line gets long but otherwise an excellent experience! Brioche was Perfect! The fries were delicious!
Great local (and totally vegan!) bakery. Folks behind the counter were terrifically kind and the offerings were DELICIOUS and at a good price.
I have decided to go vegan, i will see how that work. My experience was healthy.i loved it.
Had my first full vegan breakfast with an almond milk cappuccino, and I can say that I am far from being disappointed. Everything was fresh and high quality. It made me rethink the my idea of the vegan movement. The sausage biscuit makes me want to go back and try other menu items.
Walking in the front door I was already excited about what was to come. The Happy Hen sandwich and brioche I ordered were delightful and the service was so friendly, even when I was having trouble picking just one treat. It was definitely worth the trek from downtown.
Awesome local organic bakery shop where everything is VEGAN and homemade and handmade. Everything is delicious omg the fries are amazing with the dipping sauce. The desserts and tea biscuits and everything. Very friendly establishment.
Delicious vegan food, cozy atmosphere.
Great bakery. Can be difficult to find a seat during peak periods. Very popular place.
Best vegan pastries in the city, perhaps the world. Worth the line in the mornings. Personal favorites are the Irish Tea Biscuits and the Pumpkin Cheddar Sandwich. Absolutely would recommend to vegans and non-vegans alike.
Beautiful place. My fiancé's eye were lit up with excitement. She was in her element. The food was amazing. I’m not vegan and I loved it all.
Excellent! Some of the workers are a little snippy at times.
They're the best, I stop in a few times a week and the food and service are totally consistent.
Amazing atmosphere, amazing food! The Brioche was excellent and will remember the Vegan Cesar salad was the best I've ever had! I literally stayed a couple hours here without noticing the time go by. Really hoping this company expands to houston!
This place is great. Good for both savory and sweet. They do run out of things, so go early!
So good and so fast!!! The brioches are divine!!! Worth the drive!!
The best bakery ive ever been to in my life. The cranberry oatmeal cookies are the best
In from Austin, took my family and the food was subpar...if you want to be judged by staff....this is your spot. Really expensive and not worth the time. Funny how they turn their nose at people looking for nonvegan options like half and half...they do realize some families have a vegan in the family and others are not.
We usually get their breakfast sandwiches...weekly, which are great. Their bread, cookies, and coffee are awesome too. Outdoor seating out front and a underrated hidden courtyard in the back. All organic and a lot of vegan stuff too, if you’re into that ;).
Good selection of breakfast items, nice little patio, and an even better selection of great, hardy breads. Highly recommend.
I wait all year for the vegan King cakes!!!!the best ever
Nice bakery with healthy choices, if you are vegan, you would love it here
One of the best vegan restaurants in New Orleans. Cozy place with good food
Not so sure...just got home couple hours later and have diarrhea. Its the only food I had today so I'm sure what it was. The people are really nice. The sandwich was just ok..too sloppily made.
Vegan heaven. Omg. You can be a fat happy vegan here. The nice thing is. Everything is vegan. So no need to discriminate against any of the items. They are all vegan. And freaking yummy. We drove a couple miles to get here. But well worth it. They also have a small courtyard seating area.
Do not miss this place. Everything is fire and it’s really a good price. Vegan frittata is so GOOD and the vegan double choc chip cookie was a heaven in my mouth. Also tried a vegan Boston cream brioche muffin and just WOW????
Full vegan bakery and pastries shop. Very conscious and friendly. Food is amazing and mimics the favorites that got lost when you go vegan. Try anything with a busciut
Boston cream pie brioche was to die for! Everything was delicious and all vegan!!
'No dairy in the building,' came the reply when a dining companion asked about cream for his coffee. There's no meat and no fish either, but there's no lack of flavor and fun at this busy establishment. The vegetable quiche is excellent and so are all the sweet baked goods. Outstanding coffee too! Open every day with consistent operating hours -- sounds like the path to eatery success!
Best bakery ever
What a special place this is! It was literally our first stop after getting off the plane to NOLA. All vegan, all delicious and everything is made with a lot of heart and soul. Can't wait to go back one day!
Bread, pastries, biscuits that all taste like they should. This place was wonderful. I wish we lived next door so I could have something every day. And by far the best totu scramble I've ever had. We would fly back just to eat here. It's also nice that it's
Breads on Oak is always good. I've had different biscuit sandwiches and just yesterday I had the Muffanada. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in quite some time. So many flavors in one delicious sandwich
Don't eat vegan food at all but I enjoyed their breakfast. Their pastries are fantastic.
Super friendly, nice ambiance, excellent coffee and really good burgers! Also a big variety if different cakes and breads. All fresh and vegan!
This is an amazing bakery. Even if you’re not a vegan. Yes all the selections are vegan. Although if you went in there and you did not know this you probably wouldn’t even notice. This is a beautiful location where you can eat and also have a coffee. Or take your selection to go. Everything is organic. Everything is vegan. Try the French baguettes! Don’t miss the cinnamon walnut brioches. The salads are healthy and good and fresh. Get there early for best selection.
Most amazing vegan food I’ve ever had, and actually some of the best food I’ve ever had, vegan or not. I was only in NOLA for 4 days, and there were so many places I wanted to eat at, but ended up coming here twice because I couldn’t stay away!! I have dreams about the food at this place... Also I loved the kitties in the garden!
This is my favorite bakery. I'm not vegan. I have lately developed some crazy allergies and inflammation and I never have to worry about the baked goods I purchase here. Plus everything tastes amazing. The brioche is phenomenal. The tiramisu king cake is decadent and delightful while still tasting like traditional king cake. I also love the heartier fare.. The berry scones, the olive bread, the nutty boules. All delicious. But I keep coming back for the brioche.
The best bakery for quality and taste. I have never had anything that was less than great and I am a critical judge. I had the king cake the other day, which I am not a fan of, but theirs was tasty. I just tried the muffanada for lunch and it was incredible.
All the hype you've heard is true! You'd never know this is a vegan place other than how good you feel when you leave. The food, the beer, and the baked goods selections are all top tier. The staff is very friendly and are happy to talk to you about the benifits of a vegan diet. The courtyard area is very cute and inviting
Really disappointed in this bakery. I have celiac disease and it was recommended. I got there and was told that their bread has "low gluten." Lol. Ok. So would NOT recommend for anyone with a wheat/gluten allergy
Love this place. Yummy. Low key. Friendly
Fantastic! Best biscuits I've ever had & the Cajun Shrimp & Cheese Brioche was unbelievable! These faux meats and cheeses are on point.
Bread on Oak is THE place to eat in NOLA! Vegan or not, you will love the food! I promise! Out of your way? Go! It's worth it!
If you have changed your eating habits and want a vegan option you can trust, then breads on Oak is that place. I've been vegan for over 2 years now and I can always find something I like at breads on Oaks. The service is nice and prices are worth the product.
My friend took me here to lunch when i visited. Love this place. Had live food sandwich. The food was so good. Constant people coming in. Wish I live by here. It would definitely be my favorite place to eat.
Yummy to my tummy like always
Best sandwich I ever had.
I love this place. The smell, the friendly staff, and the sweets. My faves are the cinnamon brioche and the morning glory. I'm not vegan, but I still pop in for breakfast.
Fantastic flavors and friendly staff. As a vegan it’s hard to find good food and this place goes a long way to solve that problem. Their Mighty Melt was buttery and cheesy and I could not believe it didn’t have there real deal in it.
Best vegan food in town! I've never eaten anything bad at Breads on Oak. My only wish is that they had later weekend hours.highly recommended for baked goods and meals.
Absolutely love this place. I have never had a single bad item from here. When I first discovered Breads I came here for four days straight. Great food and friendly service.
Great vegan bakery. Delicious sandwiches, cookies, coffee and avocado toast. The pumpkin cheddar biscuit sandwich was truly exceptional. Breads on Oak would satisfy even the most vegan-skeptic meat eater, and I only wish there were more places like it.
Super cute spot! Has some outdoor seating which is a must on a beautiful day. We had three vegan dishes and they were delicious. They play a little bit with dishes from different cultures and make them vegan and delicious. Highly recommend!!!! Would come here all the time if I lived in NOLA.
New favorite breakfast spot!! Today my fiancé and I decided to stop in having recently decided to eat predominantly vegan foods. Surprised by the delicious creations, pleasant environment, and friendly staff. Felt right at home! Had a veggie quiche, a Boston cream brioche, and some cheesy grits. All vegan and all incredibly scrumptious! 5/5 stars easy.
I wanted to start my 36th birthday off healthy, and Breads On Oak was the perfect place to do it. Myself and three others enjoyed the mimosas, Muffanadas, vegan quiche and a three tier chocolate ganache cake. The staff greeted me with Happy Birthday and made my day very special. I really enjoyed it.
I can’t say enough good things. Good prices, awesome sandwiches and brioche. The space itself is cozy and cute with a friendly staff. When we stayed in the area, we came here almost every day. Lots of options, all vegan!
Awesome place! Can you believe that EVERYTHING is vegan? Even cheese and bacon that they serve. Fantastic!
Best vegan spot we visited in New Orleans. There’s a huge variety of sandwiches and pastries available at the counter, and if you somehow can’t find something you like there, there’s a menu with other plates and soups as well. I had the pumpkin breakfast biscuit with andouille sausage and boy oh boy was it good. The biscuit was creamy and savory, the scramble light and fluffy, and the sausage cooked to perfection with just the right amount of kick. Also tried their quiche which was creamy but not so much that the quiche was too dense and heavy (as many quiches end up being). My travel buddy tried the bread pudding with the whiskey sauce and reports that it was “very, very good.” We bought some small loves of bread to-go as we head out of New Orleans this morning. We’ll miss this place greatly and look forward to coming back soon!
My vegan bakery go-to spot.
My favorite spot in Nola. Best vegan food I've come across, and the bread is incredible. The Big Daddy Burger is a go-to for sure, and really no matter what you go with it's gonna be great. Sunday's they have a big plate of all sorts of different breads and toppings for them. It's a great opportunity to check out all the different things you can buy from here. And their large loafs make a great addition to any family meal. 10/10 will definitely be going back and would recommend.
My husband and I checked this place out because we love baked goods not knowing it was a 100% vegan restaurant. I opted not to try any of the meat substitutes but the vanilla glazed brioche roll I had was delicious! The chocolate chip …
Best bread in Louisiana as they say. Amazing loaves. Vegan, no animal products
The bread in this place....I was in heaven! Going back this weekend with my mom and sister. Had the biscuit egg and Canadian bacon sandwich. My fiance had their version of the muffalatta with the cheese grits. Had to try the Citrus Lemon Cream Brioche....OMG!!!
The impossible burger is spot on, if I could never eat beef again I'd be happy with this.
We looked into this place before we can down to New Orleans, wasn’t sure what to expect but who doesn’t love bread?! NOT DISAPPOINTED! We have the okra gumbo and pumpkin muffin breakfast sandwich! Not usually a fan of pumpkin anything but this sandwich was GREAT!!! Go there. You’ll be glad you did!
Great organic, vegan/veggie friendly food
Always fresh, delicious and nutritious.
