This is my favorite bakery. My family has gone here since I was a kid and bought several Birthday cakes from Burke’s. It is hard to pick a favorite item here and we normally leave with a variety of cookies and pastries. My favorites are their yeast rolls and the gingerbread men. I always pick up a few gingerbread men to eat. They seal them in a very deep bag so they cannot run away before being eaten. See my last one still captured. Smile at me all you want mister gingerbread man, it will not change your fate! Yummy!

While I love Burke’s bakery, and would recommend, i’m disappointed in them due to paying for a dozen doughnuts and only receiving 9. Since I’ve been going here for years, I didn’t ask for a receipt only to be let down with being 3 doughnuts short. They didn’t seem to care about their mistake, either, and didn’t offer a refund.

This bakery makes a cream horn that is the best I have ever had. It is flaky, the filling sweet and a wonderful texture, and finally the powdered sugar coating, is more like a sweet mist than a simple powder covering. I have tried many over the world and found none to come close to this.

I saw a rainbow while running at Millennium Park and decided to see where it would lead and low and behold Burke's Bakery is what I found at the end full of treasure! I decided to grab a few donuts and a coffee. I picked the cinnamon roll donut and the small glazed twist. To top it all off it was only $1.50 total! This place is worth every penny and then some.

The German chocolate cake was wrong on so many levels. All sugar taste without anything else. The cake itself was very flaky and weird. I ended up throwing it away. The cashier highly recommended and I doubt if she was doing it that on purpose so I would never go back again. The pecan cookies don't taste like cookies rather like melted sugar.

Very helpful preparing a birthday cake for my son (who is very picky). We ordered yellow cake. When we cut the cake it was a very dry lemony pound cake. We inquired and Burkes advised they don't even make a lemon cake. They might not make a lemon cake but they put lemon in the dry pound cake that was underneath the icing. Disappointed. Expected something great from Burkes.

My three daughters absolutely loved picking out their own cookies, and I was pleasantly surprised by the low cost of such a wonderful treat for them. We also got some of Burke's Salt Rising Bread. If you haven't tried, do. It's fantastic.

Everything was delicious and moist, even a couple of days later. The prices were cheap for the value. Way better than any other local bakery, and better prices to boot!

I love Burke's Bakery. On my first work trip to Danville years ago, a good friend recommended that I stop by there and try their gingerbread. I go to Burks almost every time that I am in town. All of their baked goods are amazing. I very much love their bread. Even their deli sandwiches are extra good. The people are always super nice. The prices are great. Just as a note, this place is cash only. They do have an ATM inside.

One of the only places still making Salt-rising bread, an Appalachian treasure. My mom, who grew up in Lancaster, introduced me to Burke's as a child and I still love many of Burke's delicious treats. Though I live in Mississippi, the prices are very reasonable so ordering from Burke's and shipping Salt-rising bread (& other treats) is worth every penny!

The quality of their food goes without question! A personal favorite of mine is there gingerbread man, which if you've never had one, or even if you have, then these are a must try as well! You cannot go wrong with Burke's Bakery! I only wish that they had one in Madison Indiana!

Very hit or miss. Donuts are pretty dependable and dinner rolls are fine. Danish style pastries are often stale though sold at full price. Suspect they freeze and thaw these, which often doesn't work. Always ask if they are fresh that day before buying.

It’s a known fact it’s a sin not to stop at Burke’s if you’re in Danville , who’s been in business forever ! Large variety , good prices and delicious ! Friendly and helpful employees! And seasonal special treats! But I cannot give them five stars because for the past several years , other than their petit fours, their chocolate cakes, ANY size cake, are extremely dry! The icing is to die for, but the chocolate cake is way too dry and uneatable . The white cakes and angel food cakes are always moist! No complaints on any of their other heavenly treats! I love Burke’s ! Please fix your cardboard dry Chocolate cakes!!
