Here we offer you the opinions of people who know the services of Beignet (Bakery) in Kansas.
Right now the firm has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 and this rating was based on 921 reviews.
As you can see its rating is almost the best one, and it's based on a high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the score is very reliable. If people have bothered to give their feddback when they are happy, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to set tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Bakery corresponds to the category of Creole restaurant.
AMAZING beignets! As a New Orleans native, this place reminds me of home. The atmosphere, the service, and especially the food! Perfect for lunch breaks, dinners, or even breakfast! I will absolutely visit this place again and highly encourage others to do so as well. 5/5 stars!
Came here today with party of five & we all enjoyed variety of selections from sweet/savory beignets to cheesy grits & yummy bread pudding. Honestly the best corn bread I’ve had. However, the facilities were filthy, the food was over-priced, and the satanic voodoo theme was a huge turn-off.
We ordered as a group. The order was delivered and paid for earlier in the day. We had five people who didn't receive their food and it was extremely cold and hard. First and only time
Best creole and cajun food outside the big easy!! They offer savory beignets!
This is me & my daughter's fave place!! I was sad they no longer have the salmon begnet, but the Crusty Crab will do!!
My wife and I both had po boys--me the fried catfish, her the sausage. Both were so greasy the grease was dripping off. We went through close to 2 dozen paper towels. They tasted good but the grease was gross. The black eyed pea salad was too vinegary, and the chips were just okay--those that weren't soaked in grease, that is. I wouldn't go back.
Such a great find in City Market. My wife and I use to go here ever week when we lived downtown. We moved north and it's hard to make time to go now. Love the staff, food and the venue. Thank you for some amazing food and memories!
They are good though a little salty but it balances out
So many great food options both sweet and savory. Free refills on tea and coffee was appreciated.
Food was very tasty. It was a nice change from standard lunch fare. However, it's a tiny little place with 1 cash register, so expect to wait in line and expect to have nowhere to sit to eat. No standard fountain drinks with free refills here. But they do have an exotic selection of beverages. All in all, it was a fun and tasty adventure for lunch and I'm looking forward to doing it again.
The place is a bit tight in space but the long wait in line was really worth it! Great tasting and portion of Po'Boy The Catch and those savory and sweet Beignets! Get some!
Delicious beignets, voodoo decor a little wild.
Delicious. The beignets are light and fluffy, the swamp juice is so refreshing. The Mr. Bacon was savory and mouthwatering. Big thumbs up from my husband and I.
Great cajun spot with all the favorites from Louisiana. Even make fresh beignets and serve chicory coffee. Super generous portions and delicious.
The punches are delicious and the food is great. Nice to have something different to eat in KC
If you want fabulously decadent Louisiana French beignets this is it. This tiny little spot is where to go to pig out on deep fried treats filled with sweet flavors and covered in powdered sugar. Their savory selection is just as satisfying to the pallet. I like to take two friends and order six different items and share them. Don't let the staff tell you they can't be cut into thirds. It is doable. Beware you will be a stuffed pig when you leave.
Food has a nice amount of flavor. Picked up jambalaya and gumbo on my latest visit. I was not disappointed. Plenty of ingredients like meat. The staff is always great and very helpful. Seating can be limited so be prepared to stand or take it to go.
Very good food and authentic. Haven't tasted crawfish like the crawfish here, in at least 20 years. Brought back childhood memories.
The reason is in the name, beignets is a New Orleans staple and to see them in KC is awesome and they were great. They even sold the Cafe Dumonde coffee and mix if you wanted to take some home
Great food...great service...very friendly...wonderful experience with th he love of my life ...
It get's packed with a line out the door but that added to the fun of the atmosphere. I had grits with andouille. It was good. Nothing particularly outstanding about the andouille and the portion size was huge. However it's definitely something I can make at home. I still would eat there again.
Very unique cajun treats. We tried both the savory and the sweet stuff. The cornbread pancakes were amazing! The beignets were as good as any we've tried outside of New Orleans.
Was wonderful ...had carmalized peach cornbread pancakes yummy
My daughter’s have gotten me the best Beignets here for Mother’s Day the last few years! Add some strawberries and pure powdered sugar perfection
A savory beignet is like a sandwich made with donut bread. It will cost $6.50, but plan on $8 for the sweet potato fries--they are some of the best I've ever had. The crab and goat cheese beignet has me thoroughly impressed. Absolutely delicious and unique. The portion size might look small, but it is incredibly filling. The location is also very nice. The city market is an eclectic treasure trove, a bazaar filled with fresh produce, shops, stalls, and restaurants. This is absolutely a good place to take a date -- you will have many of things to see or do, especially in fair weather.
Quick service and good portions.
We stopped in on a whim and had a fantastic brunch. It has become one of our favorite spots in a location full of great places.
Made me feel like I was back home in my paw Paw's kitchen.
Amazing flavors and decor. One of the best in river market
Best po boy in the city. Love this place.
Oh My Goodness
You want Cajun food? This is the spot in KC! You can't go wrong with their gumbo, grits or boudin balls. Always make sure you grab one or you know... a dozen beignets for the road! The cheesecake beignet is a delicious choice!
Those beignets r made fresh and the savory shrimp is delicious.
Great Cajun food.
Just tried this place for the first time!! I am thoroughly impressed! I absolutely love it. Me and my husband both got the Mac & Cheese. Pure heaven! We did pickup, the food was fresh and still warm by the time we made it back home. We will be back!
Favorite place in KC. My wife and I take PTO together so we can get lunch together at Beignet. The food is fantastic and you can't beat the beignets for dessert. Hands down best around.
Outstanding food I love eating there. If you love Cajun you'll enjoy this restaurant. If you've never eaten Cajun food please try Beignet. They have another restaurant on Broadway in the West Port area.
Very good food, not alot of space to sit,but enjoyed it
Sandwich was good but the upgrade from chips to a disappointing pile of fries was not. The fries tasted fine, the issue is that for an extra fee I got an unremarkable amount of fries. Many would say skimpy.
1st time here, it's a little hole in the wall but I was very impressed with the menu!!! I had the traditional Beignets and some shrimp scampi grits and it was good. Customer service needs to be improved more but other than that, the food was delicious!!!
I thought I was at Cafe du monde in New Orleans. Next time, I will try their extended menu. Simply put, Yum.
This place is incredible. I didn't know anything about it until my sister came into town, but I will be going there regularly now.
Awesome beignets!!
The best sweet and savory beignets. Great teas too.
So many choices! The savory beignets were surprising and delicious. We got some regular beignets with dipping sauce, there are so many flavors to try and everything we had was amazing. The specialty iced teas and lemonade are refreshing and flavorful. You can try as many as you like before you decide which one you want.
Food and price for what you get is amazing
The only authentic Cajun option I've found in KC (and I moved here from Louisiana). Now yes, they do "modernize" the classics, so don't except true blue authentic, but you can taste the authentic roots none the less. It is certainly not someone slapping on a Cajun title to a mid west recipe. The portions are huge. Only down side is The lines in the river market are also REALLY long. But then again, that's just because it's good food.
We found this establishment a couple years ago at the river market. We can't wait to go again your scrambles are incredible. A great place for breakfast or brunch In an open air environment. I only wish that we lived closer so we could go more frequently. The staff is very hard working friendly and productive.
Very disappointed by closure hours not being updated online. I drove 45 minutes to get here during rush hour traffic because they were listed as open online. Finally arrived at 4:56 pm and an employee informed me they were closed at 5 pm on Tuesdays. I was very disappointed as I wanted to show my friends this amazing restaurant but was unable to due to this closure. Will not make the drive down again to eat at this restaurant since they suddenly close.
I've had this delivered twice now and it has exceeded my expectations both times. So many gluten free options! Delicious!
Felt like home, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Food is delicious. The bread pudding is off the chain, we will be visiting again soon!
Amazing food and great tea's :)
Visiting Kansas City for work was told to check out beignet as it’s really good. Drove 40 minutes to get here after work only to find out it’s closed because they close early on the weekdays. The hours online indicated they would be open, but the restaurant is misleading potential customers.
When my mom first moved to KCMO 4 years ago, we stumbled upon this gem at the market. Since then, I make it a point to come EVERY TIME I'm in town. It's the first place I take people coming to visit with me for the first time. It's been really great watching them grow and expand their menu too! Always have a great experience with them.
The traditional and savory beignets were good, but the Cajun chips with aoli were fantastic!!
Beignets were more spongy than fluffy, but the coffee is good. Friendly staff in a shop that smells like spices and history.
Lively place for delicious food. Fam got a couple orders of 7 cheese mac and cheese (top with something like bacon!) and some shrimp scampi jumbalya (fav!) . We finished off with some delicious beignets! This place is one of our favs in the City Market area.
Great food! Helpful employees!
The savory beignets were better than expected as came with some delicious slightly spicy chips and dip. Will definitely be back.
Yea didnt like the food at all. Pretty tasteless and expensive.
Great food. Tiny dining area. You have to carry it outside
Every visit to Kansas City, MO, I find myself drawn to Beignet. Located in the historic City Market, Beignet is a popular destination for those checking out the farmers market. On nicer days, especially on the weekend, you can expect a line …
The powdered sugar are always good, the savory was okay not great. The chicory coffee was awful tasted like as ashtray. Must have just been a bad day, typically good all around.
The food was very tasty. The shrimp and sausage gumbo was full of flavor in every bite. The beignet was very fresh and piping hot when we got them. There were dozens of variations and sweet sauses to try.
Thanks for having gluten free beignet options!!! It was such a treat knowing they had gluten free and a separate fryer. My taste buds were in Heaven!
Friendly people, great food, coffee
Fantastic breakfast beignets!
The food is delicious but extremely expensive. Lunch for two was $40 in the middle of the extremely crowded market. We we're one if the lucky few that grabbed a table. Best to share a plate and take out.
Always amazing. Food is great service is even better. Just be prepared for low amount of seating. The places around it dont like to share their outdoor tables. Reccomend Mr. PIG and Krusty Krab for savory and plain hot and fresh Beignets for sweet.
First tiime, good eats and iced tea
Love this place! Highly recommend the seafood grits or Mac n cheese! Seating is limited, but the food is so worth it!
Great little Cajun restaurant, and you have to try the cornbread!
Best food ever. My only regret is i forgot to order pecan bourbon corn bread. I had it on my mind, and between the amazing smell of the food and the beautiful smile of the helpful lady at the order counter, i forgot to order it.i have lived on the coast close to New Orleans and this is the best gumbo i have ever had, without a doubt.
Great food, friendly workers, and cute restaurant! Love would definitely recommend Jambalaya or beignets.
I wasn't impressed at all, beignet tasted like bread with powered sugar. The savory bacon egg and cheese beignet tasted like a hot pocket. I felt ripped off really, I had high hopes for this place but I don't think I'll be back.
Holy cow this place is delicious. Take the time to wait in line, it's worth it.
I cannot eat any dairy or soy due to my infant having an allergy to it. The waiter/cashier did very well to help me find something on the menu that would fit my dietary needs. He double-checked ingredients on multiple things and gave me suggestions of what I could eat. He was a big help! It is nice to have someone so knowledgeable of the menu and willing to check ingredients when eating out. I had the shrimp scampi po boy sandwich and it was delicious! Great help and delicious food here.
One of my favorite places. 7 Mac's cheese with crawfish !!!! Oh the cheesy goodness! And dare I say Beignets? Beignets, beignets, beignets! Friendly staff, fast service.
So delicious!! All the toppings must be tried
The traditional beignets were delicious. I also had a mint tea, it was so good!
Great place to eat food is outstanding
Amazing food, staff is great. Make sure you don't miss the savory beignets, the Mr. Bacon is a heavenly heart attack in a small package. Could use more seating outside, but to be fair, it's a compact area.
We had the grits. I had shrimp and my wife had bacon. Both were delicious! We had some Chicory coffee with the grits and finished with some beignets. They were delicious also. I don't have pics but ordered the chicken boudin balls and the Juanita bread pudding, which I asked to pack it to go but it didn't make it to the car. You definitely have to try it in your visit and possibly eat one there and take another one home.
Cool, unique desserts... The bread pudding is amazing!
Coffee was pretty strong like it it's sat there too long I know we got there later in the morning but dang. Had to try the staple "beignet" fried donut, really doesn't live up to the hype either
Must try if you like creole cuisine... also yummy beignets!
I love this place. It is authentic in almost every way. It doesn't offer a roast beef poboy and if you e ever lived down south you know how popular that sandwich is. Otherwise it's great. Everything I've eaten there has been delicious. One of my favorite places in KC.
Really enjoyed my poboy
This is honestly one of my favorite places! I got the Voodoo Veghead Beignet and it was phenomenal! Also had the peaches and Brie dipping sauce with traditional beignets. SO. GOOD. The jambalaya also had a very good flavor. It wasn’t overwhelmingly spicy and is just very well done. If you’re looking to try something new this is definitely the place! I can’t recommend it enough. They also sell the Cafe du Monde coffee, which is amazing if you’re a coffee drinker!
Tried them out on a whim and glad I did. The shrimp and sausage po’boy had great flavor and the beignets were a nice finish. My friend really enjoyed his gumbo as well. We also really liked the selection of teas. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.
Awesome little spot to eat at the river market. I got the shrimp scampi jambalaya and beignets and it was all amazing! Quick, friendly service and a cool atmosphere. Thanks for the great food!
The PO boy sandwich was fantastic. Nice soft Hardy bread holding a beautiful concoction of your choice. The jambalaya, even on its own is a pleasant and pleasing blend of spices. The juices they also serve are fantastic. I got swamp juice and although the name is off-putting the flavor is unavoidable. The salad that came with the PO boy was also suprising. You would think vinegar based but no it's more like an oil, rich in flavor but I can't describe it, but I do Reccomend it. My coworker also got some cornbread and from what he says. Best he ever had. Will be going again and many more.
The food was fantastic. It was the best donut we have ever eaten!
Loved this place, will be back for more beignets !!
We tried the Mr. Bacon savory beignet. Really gooey, smokey and cheesy, but lacked in bacon flavor. The ordering process for the sweet beignets was a little confusing. Why can't you order dipping sauce seperate or not with more than two …
Absolutely amazing!!!! Savory and sweet filled beignets with deliciousness. It is situated at the corner of a large outdoor/indoor market place making the experience that much better.
It's like a foodie secret hideaway good food
Best bread pudding in town.
Great tasting food. Staff members are friendly and fun!
I love this place! They have a huge menu so you can satisfy literally any craving—something sweet, savory, spicy, meaty, etc!
Favorite place for a nice snack and dessert! Must try the Cajun Beignet
Great food, the etouffee is awesome! Louisiana food that's mmmhmmm good!
The food was really amazing. The only reason I woukdn't give it 5 stars is bwcause it was WAY overpriced. $14 for a po boy is too much. But man are they good. If the prices were just a little more realistic we'd probably go there weekly instead of monthly.
Messy but delightful. If it's new Orleans you want in a easy atmosphere here is where to get it.
Pretty great beignets. I had never had one before. I highly recommend trying the corn cakes as well. Portions are pretty big.
Great service!! Wonderful food
I plan on making this a regular stop as there are so many items I want to try. The beignets are very good and you can pick how you love having one. I am excited to try grits and po boy in the future.
I love this place so much. It's tiny, so be prepared, but so many great dishes. I especially love the shrimp and grits.
We love these folks. Truely the best beignets outside of NOLA. Also just the sweetest people.
This place is by far the BEST I had in my 39 years of living! The food is PHENOMENAL! I would love to meet the owner to give him a big hug!! & a pat on the back! This place should be on T.V. one of the cooking shows! I would give a million stars! It's so good, itll make you wanna slap yo mama, lmao!!! I had the Big Easy dish & beignets with the lemon berry cream sauce. I had the grits with eggs & hickory bacon, I had the stuffed beignets....omg....everything I've tried so far is absolutely delicious!! I love it here! I love Brian, lol....thank you!! Oh, & the swamp juice & all the teas are soooooo gooooddd!
Delicious! You need to go! The line can get long (that's a good thing), so get there early.
Staff was very pleasant, atmosphere was unique.. I ordered the over the kitchen sink Mac and cheese it was delicious. I did add salt and pepper to kick it up on flavor, but overall it was good.
Great food! I got the chocolate beignet. The coffee was ok. I wish there was more seating.
Came to check out Beignet on a Saturday morning - please know that while this place does have a few tables inside, this is not a typical sit-and-eat restaurant!! The breakfast scrambles are SO good, and a sweet beignet with berries balances the rich meaty/cheesy flavor. Try the swamp juice, not overly sweet. Expect a line out the door, but well worth the reasonable wait.
The gumbo & jambalaya actually was spicy! Perfect place to go warm up during the cold weather!!
Long lines, but food was good. The beignets were delicious, and we also had the fried shrimp gumbo, po'boy, jumbalaya, and shrimp and chips. All of it was pretty good, and the prices were fair. The restaurant was located in a small space, but there are plenty of outside seating in the outside of the restaurant.
Savory and sweet both in the same sitting.... with an awesome crew!
Food is delicious, can't wait to eat there again
I am from the South. I ordered the mac n cheese with catfish. I had catfish chips on mine. What I mean by that is my fish was nothing but pieces of crust with no fish in it. Only had a couple of actual fish. The mac n cheese was good. Also ordered the boudin balls. They were not good at all.
Came here for beignets and was impressed with the creativity and selection. I got a box of plain beignets though because I didn't have enough to get everyone a special one. There is also neat stuff for sale inside such as candles. It has really cool voodoo and new Orleans themed decorations.
Best Cajun food I've had in KC. Savory beignets are great and the crepes too! We like to order online and pick up most of the time. The lines inside can get long and crowded, but ultimately it's worth the wait.
Pricy.. Small Portion. We thought it was a restaurant restaurant based on the website but it's a hurd in / hurd out business inside the City Market. We ended up also paying for 3hrs for parking.
You pretty much HAVE to stop by and get something if you are in the market. Sweet, savory, salty.. all of the beignets are great on the go.. minus wearing it if you are sitting outside on the curb.. worth wearing but be mindful if you are wearing dark clothes
If you are looking for standard, run of the mill, nasty, bland food made on an assembly line, don't come here. If you are not willing to wait between 5-20 minutes for your food to be cooked fresh, to order, this is not the place for you. If you want delicious, scratch-made, fresh food that isn't cooked until you order, this is your jam. Their menu is filled with Cajun goodness. The decor is reminiscent of Bourbon Street without being tacky. I've tried most of their menu options and have yet to find a meal I have not completely enjoyed. Beignet is by far my favorite place to eat at the river market.
We really likes it, the food was really delicious! We went back twice. Big smiles!!! Pudding Juanita, Shrimp and Grits, Jambalaya, cornbread and so much more!!!
I was a huge fan of Nica’s. I am from Kansas City but live in Seattle. When I come home to visit it’s one of my favorite spots and honestly The best thing I’ve ever had in my mouth!! I will be visiting over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and will be bringing a few friends to KC from Seattle so what will your holiday hours be because I don’t want to miss you!
Very tasty. Wasn't greasy. I think I'm addicted to their fresh made tea!
The line was out the door when we showed up! That to me is a good sign! They got through the orders like a hot knife through butter. Had the Bronx beignet with sweet potato fries and the creole coffee. All around amazing flavors. Super cool cajun decor, from voodoo to sugar skulls. It was cool! Only downside is the small amount of seating!
Beignet's is a great restaurant! Located in historic Rivermarket, this restaurant has a wide variety of foods and meals that would appeal to anyone. I ordered a delicious Po'Boy with catfish, shrimp and crayfish. It was delicious.Gave it 4 out of 5 stars just bc my Po'Bog had too much bread. Other than that, this place is amazing.
Just loved the traditional beignets. Seems like the line comes and goes, so I made a round and it was quiet, by the time I was eating the line was back. For 5 bucks, totally worth it!
The beignet with the goat cheese and crab was interesting. Very different from most other places.
Really good food! I've been here twice and the boudin balls are a great addition to your meal.
This place is a must if you are in the river market (and now Westport too!) Their food is delicious, you won't regret it! We have had their Po'boys sandwiches, Mac and cheese, gumbo and étouffée..my favorite is the gator bait or the kitchen sink for meat options! Their beignets is course are always recommended and their teas are good too! We cannot wait to try their breakfast!
First time here and it was amazing. Love love the beignet! Had the Po boy. We got the mixed berry as a dipping sauce highly recommend! They have so many options! And their tea is amazing!!!! I do a blend of a few different ones. The place looks so authentic. Staff is super friendly. Place is clean.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was out in 10 minutes on a slow Tuesday night. Shrimp scampi grits were plenty flavorful. The regular beignets were great too, similar to funnel cake in taste.
If you want beignets as close to Cafe du Monde as possible in Kansas City, this is the place. Otherwise the scrambles are mediocre, ours had shrimp shells in it and we did not order our scramble with any shellfish. The milk we ordered had gone bad and was chunky. Which also made the coffee bad.
Food is always good. My friend from Louisiana loves this place. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I go there every time I’m visiting the river market.
Delicious deserts, I'm really looking forward to eating their food food!
I'm not a donut person and I definitely don't like cherries. So when my husband & kids, who love trying the latest trends, insisted on taking me here, I came with my heals dug in the ground. Wow! Wow! Wow! I cannot wait until we go back. Probably one of the BEST desserts I've ever had. I now want a Beignet cake for my birthday!!! Do you make cakes?
Their simple beignet with the chocolate dipping sauce is amazing! Been to the New Orleans place as well but this place was just as good and the lines weren't even as long as we expected. YUM!
Best Cajun food in KC. I high recommend trying their corn bread, beignets, crepes, and jambalaya. Everything I have tried there has always been delicious!
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Remind me of home.
This is one of the few places in kansas city to get beignets. We had to wait in line about 10 minutes, but that's expected on the weekend due to it being located in the river market. We had the classic powdered sugar beignets, and even though they were good, not quite up to the same level as last time we visited. Overall though, a good place to visit.
Went for the first time this weekend and the beignets were just as good (or even better actually) than the ones from New Orleans!
You pretty much HAVE to stop by and get something if you are in the market. Sweet, savory, salty.. all of the beignets are great on the go.. minus wearing it if you are sitting outside on the curb.. worth wearing but be mindful if you are wearing dark clothes
Great food and service
Love this gem!!!! Beans and rice w/ seafood!!!
Absolutely amazing every time I go!!!
We love coming here. If I ever put up with going to the River Market, it's for them. Their jambalaya is amazing and has a good kick to it. Their dessert beignets are worth the price and mine are usually drowned in powdered sugar.
Stopped in for a quick bite and everything was great! Will be back too!
Great food and service
Overrated. My mufaletta sandwich was crazy greasy. I've never encountered that before. The beignets were good but caked in powdered sugar.
I am a native of Louisiana....tasted like something maw-maw made
This place was so good. I live in the neighborhood and love bringing friends to get beignets for breakfast. Had gumbo for the first time over lunch last week too, will definitely be back.
This was our first visit to Beignet and overall were impressed. The sweet beignet were fantastic - fluffy and sweet with a really nice Bavarian cream. The savory dishes were also good, but I think we didn't get the best of the menu. The 7 cheese mac was good but kind of standard (good for kids) and probably would have been better with a topping, and the Pig savory beignet was just okay. Loved the waffle fries and dipping sauces though! I'll definitely be back, but next time I won't worry so much about getting something the whole table likes and will get something a little more adventurous.
I mistakenly thought the king cake flavors meant it was a filled king cake. The flavor is just in the hole of the cake. We ended up thinking the price was a bit high for the cake. Flavor and texture comparable to other king cakes we have tried.
Looked great. The person I delivered it to seemed happy. Great new type of " donut" restaurant!
You want New Orleans food? Go here! Small place with excellent food.
