I have attempted to contact this bakery to place an order for several days and no one has contacted me. I have left 2 voice mails and send a contact request from the website. I question if this place is still in business (or worth doing business with). I had hoped to order some sea-salt Bagels and other goodies to take to my friend, with brain cancer, in NC that loves them (when she lived here in Lexington), Thursday afternoon. Does anyone know if they have moved or out of business?

Sunrise Bakery is the kind of place that helps define a town. They have outstanding donuts and a fun atmosphere, but more importantly the entire staff is great. The owners are friendly and engaging, but even the young people helping out have great attitudes. They are regularly trying new things too - usually there is at least one thing that I have never seen there before. The macarons are good too! The only time when going to Sunrise Bakery is a disappointment is when we wait too long and they are running low on donuts, but that's our own fault.

Was in Fortville for business on a Saturday and was early for my appointment. I needed a pick me up before my meeting and saw this cute little coffee shop/donut shop and decided to stop and so glad I did. This place is by far the best donut shop I have ever been to!! LOL I even made the donuts in the morning at dunkn donut when I was in college. They were about to close, but they told me to stay as long as I wanted and were so kind about it. One of the owners Susan told me their story . The two donuts I bought were so good I had to go back for another. Was in Fortville again yesterday for business, had to stop and it was another very pleasant stop, got to meet another one of the owners yesterday and he was another gem. Cant say enough good things about them go there you won't leave disappointed. Cant wait to go back!!

Life can get hectic, especially with twins. I pulled up here to meet a friend. I called and asked if they, by any chance, did curbside service. Not only was she accommodating, she was pleased to do so. She took my order over the phone and brought it right out. That may seem small but it's those little touches that businesses are losing. I really enjoy the donuts and the people who work there. My parents and their friends meet for coffee on some mornings and it's a great place to have fellowship in a small town. However, it seems the establishment is allowing a certain very filthy man on a scooter to come in and sit and have milk and what ever. He lives in town so he is not homeless. He is dirty and barely dressed some days. He stares at little children especially the little girls. I would not bring my grandchildren in if I knew he was there. I would think the owner and management would apply the no shirt no service policy.

I stumbled one this adorable little bakery. Maybe the most divine and delicious donut I have ever had. And, get this....the roast their own highlander grog and it is brilliant! Don't tell everyone, I want there to be more when I go back! Did I mention they have macaroons? Well they do and they wonderful too.

If there's a crowd, make sure you speak up because clerks weren't paying attention and I was passed over 3 months ago for some girls that just walked through the door and jumped to the counter to look at the baked goods. The worker wasnt watching the door and waited on them first after I had been standing in line for 10 minutes behind a man placing a large togo cake order. Not happy that I wasn't noticed at all. So I left. But their coconut macaroons are awesome.

Somebody else might seem uneasy about being in this little bakery, but I love the small town atmosphere and the friendly service. Kind of reminds me of Grandma's house with the smells of fresh baked cinnamon rolls and cookies, a hint of fresh baked bread right out of the oven. Great place for a cup of coffee and donuts drizzled with that tasty white frosting! I'd go out of my way to get a couple donuts here!

Everyone is so great here! It's a family owned treat filled with treats in a treat of a town called Fortville! These donuts are unlike most donuts in the Midwest, these are what I call "real donuts." Soft cake with lots of icing and sprinkles aren't just for kids. Also, the fritters (blueberry and cherry?!) and muffins are quite special. I enjoy coming in here just to see the smile on my sons face when he watches the train set, and because of the kind smiles I get from all the staff. If you're looking for stellar donuts, or even a person to chat with, don't hesitate to come on in, you'll find whatever you're looking for. If you want to make your coworkers know you're as intelligent and thoughtful as you look, buy your donuts here and share the love...they'll be happy you did.

If you get the chance to go here on it is delicious. The sandwich of the day is always good. Their meats are paired perfectly with all the sandwich ingredients. The prosciutto was great. Going before heading down to the farmers market on Sunday is something I would highly recommend.

Bought a half dozen of yeast, they were very good, nice and light. Also bought some of the muffins, also very good, the blueberry I think are the best. They always have a nice group of works to serve you so never have to wait long to get your treat. Also great coffee they have a full service coffee bar.

The prices are cheap, the donuts are great. The only thing I'd love to see is for them to make ice coffee as well, since they already serve hot coffee. It would be pretty simple, putting a pot of coffee in a pitcher in the fridge, getting a 60 dollar ice maker. Ice coffee has a huge markup, it would certainly attract the younger folk in the aging community.

WOW!!! I made the drive the first time because I've known Susan Kitterman for years...I'll be making the drive the second/third/fourth/fifth (etc) time because this is the best donut shop I've ever experienced. The staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful, they have EXCELLENT coffee (a weakness of some other independent bakeries), and the baked goods are unbelievably decadent. If you are a fritter fan, you have found heaven. If you love cake donuts (of any variety), look no further. It didn't hurt that I visited the bakery on a crisp fall morning with the sun just peeking over the horizon, but my first experience here was truly memorable. Thank you!!

If it were possible to leave a negative star rating I would do so. I ordered bday cupcakes a week in advance. Called the morning of pick up to give them the time I would arrive. Got there on time and did not have my order. The male employee didn't know why, said he didn't know what to tell me, refused to make me more and refused to contact the manager for me. Refused even to have me some prepared the following morning. Will never do business with them again.
