I really like MCL, an old school restaurant serving up food similar to how I remember a lot of restaurants when I was young. Always a great selection of items to try. I like that I can get smaller plates when I don't want so much food. It can be a little pricey, but the food is good so I feel the value is there. It's not fast food or fast casual after all. Home style cooking. I miss the Westerville location, it was so close to home.

I’ve been going to MCL with my family for around 30 years. The best way I can describe it as a cafeteria with much better food than you’d find at any other cafeteria. The fried chicken is really great. You can grab some mash potatoes, gravy, green beans, a roll, and some great pumpkin pie for a great price. My family goes here regularly. It’s basically a way for us to get a good meal at a good price and sit down with each other uninterrupted in a way you usually only see at home. Many of the employees have worked there as long as I’ve been going there. They’re friendly and helpful. It’s always clean. I now take my daughter there - she’s about the age I was when I started going with my parents. MCL is a constant. Good food, good price, good place to take your family.

I really do like MCL. And this one in particular. Pretty much anything you get here is going to be good. Maybe not the best, but at least it's going to be good. The staff on the floor is always helpful and attentive. Quick to refill your drink, or bring more napkins, etc... It's pretty quick to get through the line even if it looks stacked up. Desserts are really good here.

Great bakery selection with the ability to buy their whole pies and cakes. The cafeteria style of selecting items and moving down the line is old school in a classic homestyle way. Most menu items are comfort foods and tasty. Some menu options fall flat but when I'm sick of fast food and want home cooking, best place to come.

The entrees were delicious, the bread- not so much. We both got the beef Manhattan; which, was amazing. Tender roast beef and very savory gravy on the mashed potatoes and bread. The side bread was not good at all. The cornbread I had tasted like soap with no other real flavor. The cloverleaf roll was tasteless and cold. The servers were nice and the establishment was very clean. We'll go back; but, we'll skip the side breads.

Im a bit biased, this was my 1st job in 1984. I recently purchased my traditional dozen of the best cinnamon rolls on the face of the Earth this past Christmas. Those rolls along with all the wonderful cafeteria style options ( my favorite mashed potatoes hands done!) define my childhood. This restaurant has taken care of several generations of mine and my wife's family and is a go to when life comes at you too fast. Go and take your time and enjoy and evening or lunch transporting you back to a simpler time.

Horrible! I had the fried chicken. It wasn’t cooked with a golden brown coating. It was yellow and light. It tasted greasy and undercooked. I ate one piece and didn’t bother to eat the second. Thank goodness because I had an upset stomach the entire evening. I will never go back!

Avon, Indiana location (121 Avon Village Parkway) is a shining star. Two managers, a lady & agentleman (4pm 4/26/2019) treated me as if I'd walked into their home during their family-style dinner. I'm slightly disabled,tight on budget, and MCL is a treat for my mom and I. They made it more so. Second amazing service experience with absolutely delicious to-go meal in 2 weeks. MCL is one of those love it or hate it places. It is a cafeteria line (look at the name!), so to some it seems odd having to grab a tray. This is not an all-you-can-eat, nor is it a "pay per tray" joint. Every item has a cost and they do add up if you are not paying attention, but the food is very good quality and the selection is quite large. The staff walking around to top off the drinks are always friendly and attentive. My wife and I always enjoy eating here.

I eat at this MCL at least once each month because one of my communities, Humanist Community of Central Ohio [HCCO], holds its "Last-Saturday Supper" event on the last Saturday of each month, 5:00-7:00 p.m., usually in the private dining room [unless that room is being used right then]. The MCL staff is consistently welcoming and helpful and provides a wonderful location for this monthly community gathering. And the food at MCL is always delicious.

Our family has been going to the MCL in Kingsdale since 1972. I hope this will portray for you friends the quality and consistency of this restaurant. You get a meal here that will remind you of the way eating out should be. You can go there and feel like you had a home cooked meal, and it will be the same wonderful taste every time. And they have something for every one every day. From a healthy salad or fruit plate, an appetizer, a small meal to a large one consisting of chicken, beef, pork, or one of several seafoods, and much more, you will enjoy your meal and look forward to next time before you leave. If I could give MCL a hundred stars I would. You hear that sometimes, but I hope our 47 years of going there will express to you there is a reason they are still there and a reason you will want to check it out. It will be your go to place again and again for a quick meal, a leisurely one, or a big family celebration...they can accommodate you and it will become a tradition for you, too. Hope this helps encourage you to try it, you'll be so glad you did!

Excellent food (Yesterday I had one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve had lately) and cordial helpful staff. Fresh baked goods. Chili was very good although I would have liked it more spicy. Wish there more MCLs around city.
