This has always been the best bakery in town. When I come back from Colorado I always stop in for thumbprint cookies and chocolate coffee cake. Their wedding and birthday cakes look incredible as well. Last time in, I saw a birthday cake that was shaped like a dinosaur head sitting upright.

I love trefzgers! I have been going here since I was a child. They have the best frosting on planet earth!!! I always get the orange chiffon cafe, thumbprint cookies, and sugar cookies with lots of frosting and they are amazing every single time! The new location is nice also and the quality of the baked goods is just as good! The cakes are always beautiful and fresh. If I ever move away from this area, I am going to fly here at least 3x a year just for their amazing cookies. I think that I’m seriously addicted to their frosting and I really don’t eat sweets that often. Now that I’m writing this review I’m probably going to have to stop in today because I’m starting to crave more. I recommend this place to everyone! Even if you don’t like sweets that much, you have to try this place!

Trefzgers cakes are at the center of every special event we have. They are not only beautifully decorated, they are the most delicious cakes in Central Il. We live in Bloomington but drive to Peoria several times a year to pick up these wonderful cakes. The staff is always very friendly and they go out of their way to make sure you are delighted!

It's the very best bakery around the Trip county area. Go early or place and order and pick it up. The only real cream horns in town. If everyone ate a cream horn and didn't like it, well it probably as just a cheap copy. When I tell your they're busy I mean waiting to park and it's like that all day. Do ourself a favor and go there as soon as you have time.

This is a full service bakery. It has everything you could desire in baked goods. From donuts, cupcakes, muffins, and bagels to breads, loaves, and cookies to pies, tarts, and cakes. The variety and selection is ginormous. They have signature coffees and teas as well as standard beverages. The atmosphere is very open and nice; this is a working bakery so don't forget to take a number so you get served. The seasonal displays are very interesting.

The dedication on the icing was barely acceptable and the frozen taste unacceptable. When I complained I was met with indifference. That was my last purchase at that establishment.

Trefzger’s made our wedding cake, and we could not be more pleased! We both grew up in Peoria, so we knew we wanted Trefzger’s for our wedding, but we could not have imagined how great they would be! We met twice with Martha and talked to her several times on the phone, and she was SO helpful and so sweet! She even made a custom cake flavor for us, because we really wanted champagne cake with a strawberry jam filling. She made a sample for us to try, and it was AMAZING!! We ended up doing a small cake in the champagne & strawberry flavor, as well as 2 other cakes with different flavors and fillings, as well as a groom’s cake, and there were maybe 3 slices of cake left total at the end of the night—people LOVED all the flavors, which were all delicious, and we’re still getting compliments on the cake! Martha and her team delivered the cake to our Princeton, IL venue the day before the wedding so our florist could decorate it, and they worked so well with our venue and coordinator to make sure everything was ready to go! We’re so happy we could have our favorite bakery as part of our wedding day, and we can’t recommend them highly enough!!

I ordered a 2-tiered chocolate wedding cake on fairly short notice. They were very accommodating. This cake was gorgeous. It was much larger than I'd envisioned. Each tier was 3 layers of chocolate bliss. Chocolate curls and chocolate strawberries on each tier. Everyone in the lobby was remarking about it when they brought it out to show me. They boxed it carefully and carried it to my car for me. The gal worked with me to get it to fit in the car on the front seat. It arrived in perfect shape. This was the best chocolate cake I've ever had! We hated to cut into it since it was so beautiful. It tasted even better than it looked. Wish I could have eaten more!!!

Got a cake for a friends birthday. She loved it. Service is always great. The place is always busy, so call ahead if have something specific you want. While picking up the cake, we had to pick up a few things for ourselves! The absolute hands down best thing we got was the 3 berry coffee cake! The coffee cake was so good, it was all gone in 1 day. They will be moving locations soon, I think its a worth visiting for sweets lovers.

WOW!! We just visited Trefzger's in the new (huge) location!! This bakery is amaaaazing. The old refurbished warehouse type building is beautiful with seating to eat inside. The selection is unbelievable, and everything we had was delicious. I just about hit the floor when I saw VEGAN soup was being offered. Thank you so much for making an effort in that direction!!! We will definitely return to this bakery. I hope you enjoy another century doing what you do best Trefzger's!!!

If you're on a diet...keep out! A wonderful array of pastries & oh the lovely cakes. I grew up with my family going to Trefzgers every Sunday for the wonderful donuts & rolls. Our special birthday cakes all came from Trefzgers & for holidays, the brunch table held a wide variety of everything from those light airy french donuts to the many flavors of coffeecakes. If you want great quality and consistency, be sure to go to Trefzgers. This new building is so much larger & accommodating than the previous one, and you'll find so much more on display to tempt you. I always buy extra for the freezer since I'm not in Peoria often. Nice flat parking & handicap accessible.

The Chocolate Chip Danish rolls are to die for! The Sunflower cakes are adorable for celebrating any event and the icing that is used is way sweet. Perfect for the sugar junkie. Everyone should pay them a visit. Do not be afraid to wait, it is well worth it. Just breathe deeply and enjoy.

I went in to this place with the idea of being able to walk out content, sweets in hand. Besides the new location being difficult to find, the customer service seems to have gotten way worse. During the holidays they need to have an employee assigned to a separate register so that the customers who want to purchase a single item from the inventory on the floor, (for $50.00), don't have to wait in line. People are busy during the holidays and don't have time to stand in ANOTHER line.

We used Trefzger's for our wedding cakes. We were blown away by their professionalism, efficiency and punctuality. I knew I wanted 8 inch mini cakes on each table, and with over 400 people invited, we knew this wouldn't be an easy task. I went to them knowing they were probably the only people who could make 30+ 8 inch cakes and deliver them, AND make them delicious. I tried many cakes but we ended up going with Red Velvet to match our colors, which was not even their most delicious in my opinion. However, on the day of, they were perfect. We did "naked" cakes, and this can get pretty detailed, as we still wanted some icing on the cake. We paid in advance to do a practice run of the cakes, and she even let me pick the different kind of gold sprinkles to go on (yes, there are many different kinds). We worked with Martha the whole time, and she was quiet, but so precise and detail oriented. Honestly, I figured something would go wrong on the day of but no, each cake was perfect. The main cake we cut into was beautiful as well. We let guests cut into their own cake, and had people rave about how delicious it was all night. If you pick Trefzger's, you will not be disappointed.
