I'm totally conflicted about this place. Their sandwiches and breads are excellent. The service, however, leaves a lot to be desired. If you've ever seen the Seinfeld episode "The Soup Nazi", that would perfectly describe this place. The food is great, but there is one employee, possibly the owner, who is always in a bad mood and responds curtly to any inquiry. If you ask, "What's on the New Yorker sandwich, we've had that here before and loved it", he retorts, "that's Friday's special!", and nothing more. Guess you can't build your own New Yorker on any other day than Friday? Let's say you want to know "do you have sourdough bread today?", he sharply bites back with "all our breads are written on the wall!" I am absolutely convinced if I ask one more question the verdict will be, "No sandwich for you!" The guy even has the soup Nazi's mustache. While I really enjoy the food at this place and they have a quality product that absolutely deserves five stars, I have to deduct for their service (and probably should deduct more than just one star). If you are in town and don't have to deal with this guy on a regular basis, it's worth the hassle and almost amusing to see how much this guy can't stand other people. He actually shut down and stopped serving sandwiches today at 1:30, even though they are open till 5, and I think it was because he got frustrated with a few customers. I was glad we had already gotten our food, and we happily ate at the outside table as we saw droves of customers turning away saying, "I guess they stopped making sandwiches" in absolute confusion.

I try to buy bread here every week, they have the best fresh baked bread I have ever tasted. My wife laughs at me because I always plan a special day to go into town just to get their bread. I highly recommend their baked bread.

This place is the best sandwich joint on this earth. Every year when I am back I make it a mission to step foot on these hallowed grounds. Everyone that is complaining about the service can take a hike. The staff could scold me publicly and I would still come back. They aren't sandwiches rather they are art.

I love this place! Great sandwiches, wide variety of sodas, yummy homemade cookies. But the star is the bread!!! And the bagels! And the scones! Did I mention the bread is amazing? It is so AMAZING! Expect a short wait, but it's so worth it! Get there early when they open to get the best selections of fresh bread.

Best sandwiches in Idaho! We had a relatively large group, especially for a Winter Carnival Saturday and we expected to wait an hour or more for a meal. We were pleasantly surprised when we had our food within 15 minutes! The staff are quick and efficient but so friendly! And the sandwiches are phenomenal! Piled high with delicious meats and toppings, super soft yummy bread. Specialty soft drinks and kettle chips make this the perfect lunch! Had a GREAT sandwich there yesterday .. bread with Kalamata olives! Who knew? Prosciutto, veggies, generous portions. My half sandwich filled me UP - I couldn't quite finish it! Will definitely go back.

I love the Evening Rise, it has some of the best bread around every time i'm up there I go and buy some great bread. Once I was choosing between two kinds and they gave me the one I payed for plus the other one I wanted. If you are ever in McCall make sure to stop by. : )

Sandwiches are to die for. Sadly they have wildly inconsistent hours. Last three times we tried to go, they were closed even though the official sign AND the temporary sign said they were open. Oh well. Went to staxs instead.

While the bread and sandwiches are great, the guys who work here are so rude I honestly can't stand to go here anymore. For example, I ordered a sandwich but had to wait a long time while they made sandwiches for folks (I assume friends/regulars) who came in and ordered AFTER me. They are also never actually open during their posted hours. If you can stand being treated like garbage, this is a great place to grab lunch, but I can't do it anymore.

This place is the bomb. If you haven't been, you simply must go! The bread is fabulous (haven't had their sandwiches yet but they look amazing!). You should probably buy several different loaves because how could you possibly choose just one. We had their cinnamon raisin, jalapeno cheddar and the walnut/blue cheese wheat. All are absolutely fantastic. Thank you Corey for the wonderful bread. And for the record: one CAN live on bread alone!

The hours say open 11-4 Tuesday thru Saturday. But here it is noon on Wednesday and they are closed. Ive been trying to eat here for the last 2 weeks and they are never open! The sandwiches are amazing but service is terrible.
