Interesting little place. Food was good but all four sandwiches ordered seemed very light on any sauce. Pesto chicken needed a side of pesto, BLT had little if any Mayo, Cuban had signs of mustard but not enough to taste. We were told that that bread soaks up the sauces - that they really did put sauce on the sandwiches, but... Otherwise good, but I would suggest you ask for a side of whatever sauce is supposed to be on your sandwich just to be sure. Also, it did take 20 or 25 minutes to get our food once ordered, but we weren't in any real rush. Lastly, to have customers right outside the door smoking at their tables didn't help the atmosphere. Everytime the door was opened, smoke smell drifted in. Not a bad place, but nothing really to make me return again or recommend it.

Stopped by this bakery as we were visiting some family in georgia, and it was super awesome and homey. All the staff was super friendly. I had the spinach artichoke pizza it was really good, it was a thin crust pizza with abundant flavors would definitely reccomend this place for a quick lunch bite or to sit down for something more formal.

Sugar Magnolias has exceptionally good food and a caring, attentive, friendly staff. I have eaten there four times and chosen four different options from the menu. Everything has been amazing and prepared to perfection! It's become my favorite eatery in Statesboro. I will definitely be back soon!

I wanted this place to be my go to since Statesboro is limited on good food selections. I tried this place twice and both times I left with feeling a little disappointed because the food is bland, the avocado my husband requested was rubber, and the chicken sausage is just not good. Need to rethink that one. The coffee is good. I really enjoy the olive bread, and customer service is great. My photo I posted is what I ordered the second time, the peasant plate. It was decent. Not a fan of the raspberry jelly, too tart.

I have been here for both brunch and dinner. Both times, the food was great. Dinner wasn't as busy, so it was a more pleasant experience (Dinner is only Thursday through Saturday). The pizza is really good (we did a custom pizza), and I love how many cocktail options there are. I got a Peach Cobbler Martini, and it was amazing! Their cheesecake and brownies are also really good! I highly recommend you stop by for dinner sometime.

Amazing place and wonderful options! Had graduation dinner there with family and the food was just incredible! I had the Cobia salad, two had filet mignon, one was cornish hen and another with the angus beef burger. We were all definitely full by the time we were done and everything was very well made. Definitely a great place to visit!

Place used to be really great. Since they renovated it looks really nice inside but service is extremely slow. We waited 20 minutes just to get our drinks. And this has happened more than once. Our server seemed to be working the to-go area also, which made service feel this way. Hopefully will be improved in the future

This was my second time having lunch here. I got the black bean burger. The taste was very good, but the bean patty was crumbly and it was difficult to eat with your hands like burger. Essentially, the whole outside of the patty fell off and I had to eat it with a fork. I do like the option of getting fruit salad on the side instead of chips; it was delicious.

We've been here twice now, once for brunch and again for lunch. Both times we ordered three to four different dishes at our table and everything was incredible. The service was great and the dessert was good as well. I haven't tried the coffee, but someone who was with me did, and she loved it. The food is fresh and different than what you would find at most places in Statesboro. For what you get and how good it is, the prices are quite reasonable for the food. I do think the bakery case items are a bit expensive, but they're very good. We'll definitely be back.

I really wanted to love this new iteration of Sugar Magnolia. I did not. The ambience was nice and staff was friendly enough, but it took an hour to get our lunch sandwiches. I ordered the chicken and avocado Banh Mi ($9). It was pitiful looking. The bread was stale, so I just ate the chicken and vegetables. It was so SO bland; the chicken was dry and unseasoned, the vegetables were meager. The whole thing was generally tasteless. And they didn't bring my chips. My son ordered the ham and cheese (cheddar & Swiss) panini ($8.50). They brought him a turkey & brie with cranberry jelly. My dad ordered the Mediterranean pizza. It needed salt, but I thought it was good. (Maybe I was comparing it to my own terrible plate, because my dad disagreed). Sorry, but this SM is much less than it used to be...

an Absolutely magnificent place that goes above and beyond to make their food special and unique! There is no second guessing the owners and employees truly enjoy what they do and how they serve it. You can definitely tell they take great pride in there work. Their prices are low to the point it worries me because I want them to have a prosperous business and stay around for a long time! For what they are doing in a major city the cost would be double!

Absolutely blown away. I never would’ve believed there would be such an amazing restaurant tucked away in downtown Statesboro. The location is perfect and the overall aesthetic feels like you’re in a bigger city such as Savannah. The food is amazing, the prices are very reasonable, and everything that came out of the kitchen looked top notch. The staff was more than attentive and everything arrived quickly. I sat at the bar and the manager, Caroline, fresh squeezed the lemons for my Tom Collins directly in front of me. The chef Jordan personally came to check on the food and chatted with me briefly about my experience. My waitress had a very bubbly personality and took fabulous care of me. Five stars aren’t enough for how amazing my first experience was and I can not recommend this restaurant enough!

The food is amazing! My husband is a native new Yorker and says this is the best pizza in the boro yet! The only problem I had was that I tried to call in my order because I had multiple food stops to make but something was wrong with their phone- it was just messed up and just wouldn't connect. I tried like 10 times to call and it wasn't MY phone. Doesn't sound like a big deal but I try to synchronize all my food ordering, but unfortunately, because of the phone issue, I had to actually go there and order inside, which took 20 minutes -all while the food I had just picked up sat in the car getting COLD AND SOGGY! So, yeah, I was a little upset about that. But the food is amazing- favorite pastries are the sticky buns and ham and cheese croissants- and of course awesome

Pizza night on Friday. Not busy during summer and when Georgia Southern is not having classes. Several types of pizza by the slice with other baked goods available for dessert. I like the chocolate chip cookies. It is a bit of a gathering place for university faculty and staff and students during Fall and Spring semesters. Service can be a bit slow and untrained.

I have eaten here three times and each time our experience is a little "off." One time they charged me for a bowl of tomato soup and only gave me a cup. It took them 30 minutes to actually give me a to-go bowl. The next time I ordered this soup, it tasted completely different (creamy and spicy vs. no cream and sweet). Another time I visited for dinner with family and they were out of several items on the menu. The dishes we ordered were also missing certain components (e.g., beurre blanc on the salmon). The last time we visited around lunchtime on the weekend. Everything on the menu was sold out except for one or two items. It seems that the restaurant is not managed well and the recipes are not consistent. We will not be back.

Personally, I thought the food was great. However, the service is below average. After working in the restaurant business for a couple years, I understand how being a server can be hard at times but customers shouldn’t have to wait 40 minutes to get their servers attention or go up to the to go stand and grab their server. I would love to come back for the food but customer service needs to be improved.

Server wasn't knowledgeable of the menu, slow, infrequent, overall needed more training or accountability. Unfortunately this affected the overall experience. I’m glad Sugar Magnolia is back up and running. The renovations and new menu have a lot of potential; however, the last two times I’ve been to the restaurant from Sunday brunch have been disappointing. Although the food was fine, the customer service was well below average. I can’t tell you the names of either server, because they didn’t introduce themselves. In particular, our most recent visit was a bust. I arrived after my friends had sat down. They already had their drinks, but it took the server 20 minutes to come back to the table and get my drink order. By that time, we already ready to order food. There were four of us, and he didn’t write down any of our orders. That’s not impressive in the slightest. That’s anxiety evoking. Please, just write down the order. After waiting for a hour, we finally got our food. Except I didn’t get my order. I reminded the server of my order, and they had it out within 10 minutes. You could tell they just threw it together. It just wasn’t the quality you would expect from a menu like that. I would like to note that my meal was compensated. The gesture was nice, so thank you. Overall, the ambiance is good. The food is tasty, but the customer service needs some modifying. It would have been nice to see a manager walking around and greeting guests. I intended this review to serve as a constructive critique for the management and staff at Sugar Magnolia.

They only have 1 person in the front and 1 in the kitchen. The one person has to make coffee, take orders at the register and at the table, run food out to the tables, clean up, cash out, and bag up everyone's take out. The food was ok. Had two cups of coffee off their extended list, a breakfast bowl with cooked deli ham, eggs, and potatoes. We also ordered a ham n cheese pastry we never got and avocado toast (that was the highlight)! Definitely order the avocado toast! I ordered a cheese Danish on my way out but mine didn't get much, if any, cheese. The young lady was very pleasant but needs a little help, perhaps from the back off the house when you are in the weeds; Like bag up the take out, pull the coffee so she doesn't have to run to the back to get the beans. Im sure they will work it out!

It's been a while since I've visited SMB and things have changed a bit--the interior is very updated and possibly larger (not sure...I mean, really, probably 4-5 years have passed since last visit-but the items I bought, chai almond milk latte and scone were excellent, meaning the food here is still great. Even though my friends and I showed up about 30 minutes before closing, the two staff members were friendly and didn't make us feel like PITAs
