Pure deliciousness!! Gluten free offerings also available.

I stop by the bakery on my way to/from work quite often. The breads are delicious but they also keep so well. I think it's down to the quality of the ingredients. The fruit empanadas are amazing! There are some of the desserts that weren't to my liking but that's to be expected. I adore the mushroom turnover and their cheese danish and keep trying new breads. On some days, you can catch some discounted items from a previous day and I often take advantage of that to try new things or get an extra splurge item. They're also always so welcoming and friendly! Way more laid back than a nearby coffee shop so I often find myself coming here for coffee.

Know a baker? You do now. A trip to La Calavera is a peep into artisan sourdough and Mexican desserts that are a delight. Freshly baked bread, pastry and cookies made with care and attention with friendly service makes each visit delightful. Things sell out so dont dawdle especially on the weekend. If you catch them at a farmers market get yourself a treat. You'll return for more.

Friendly staff and cute store but dissapointed in their bread selection. With a name like that and a cool logo, I expected some pan dulce!! But nothing ...

Rossmary Marquez

I absolutely love love this place. It so reminds me of the oan Dulce I use to eat in Venezuela. I am a big fan and highly recommend it. What a unique place!

Way too expensive, not so friendly staff. The bread was not bad but not delicious.

So far I've tried the fresh fruit danish and corn pie...looking forward to more! This place is da bomb, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent fresh bread and pastries!

Artisan organic delicious handmade sourdough bread with great flavor and texture. If that isn't enough for you their sweet treats are sure to delight. You can also find them at some local farmers markets, but their small bakery is delightful with pleasant staff and a lovely atmosphere.

If only I could leave no stars. Genuinely helped out this bakery in their time of need and I was shunned. I'll find a better bakery in Decatur. l'll be taking my services and money elsewhere.

Okay so I feel that comprehensively I would give this place a 3. The sourdough bread, however, gets a 4 from me. The bread is delicious. I was, however, unimpressed with the pastry selection. I got a bear claw and then a pastry with corn, and they both tasted very dull. They tasted a bit undercooked too. The actual space is super small, so don't think you can bring a big group of people inside for a brunch. I would go back to get the bread, and that's it. I believe the bread is their specialty anyways

Jesús Tirado

Great bakery. We had the molletes in Sunday and they were incredible. They reminded me of the ones my grandmother made for me when I would visit her.

Andrea Tomlin

New favorite bakery. The people are so nice and bread flavorful.

This bakery is amazing. Everything I've had from there has been top notch. The Pan de Los Muertos is phenomenal, the sourdough comes in "strengths", even the vegan sticky buns taste no different from a regular sticky bun. I advise that you give this bakery a try; you're missing out.

This is MY FAVORITE SMALL BUSINESS IN ATLANTA! Hands down! I ONLY buy bread from La Cala, I'm not exaggerating. I'm lucky that it's on my way to work every morning. I stop by the College Ave location most Tuesdays and Fridays to get a loaf and a morning treat for myself. It's one of the most important parts of my routine to be honest. This place is magical, and a staple in my life. It's a haven and an affordable luxury in my life. Their loaves of bread are unlike any bread I've ever had in my life (get the carrot chile loaf), and the corn pastry is the most delicious treat around. Thank you, La Calavera. You're the best pastry/bread shop in the world in my heart.

Timothy Rhodes

Best bread I've had in Atlanta -- I'm a sucker for their super sourdough.

The coffee I mean seriously good. The Jamaican patty which was equally delicious however is sold at the Jamaican eatery next to La Calavera. Good location next transit station and there's good parking to accommodate the customer flow. Never crowded and service is always great. A few tables inside and one outside.

John Winblood

Great bakery!

I love their Super Sourdough bread. Although I have had trouble with gluten in regular bread, the super sourdough works for me. AND it is absolutely delicious!! Friendly staff, always helpful to me.

The carrot spelt bread is my absolute fave bread of all time! I buy from the farmers markets and at the store. They are accommodating (saved loaves for me) and always offer to slice it. And bonus for me they have vegan treats!

Nidhi Jain

Bread heaven! The Sunday brunch molletes are delish!

Rob Rivera

way too expensive for what it is. take a drive down Buford and find yourself a real Mexican bakery, you won't be disappointed and you will get more "pan" for your buck.

We love coming here for all of the goodies. Super nice people and super delicious breads and treats. I especially appreciate that they have vegan offerings!

Spring Mullins

Incredibly delicious fresh breads and pastries, it's always a struggle picking just one item for myself. A little pricey, though, and they have a tenancy to close earlier than their posted hours.

Wonderful hand made breads. Ive been buying them from the local farmers markets since they opened for business.. what a treat for us. Their Sourdough loaves are what Highland bakery ones used to be.

Scott Bean

I walk here frequently on the weekends or I typically stop in on my way to work. All the pastries and baked goods are great and their coffee is quite good. No frills and all quality.

L Craighead

Average food, good bread and 3 small tables. Service is average, nothing extra.

S Gonzalez

Not only is everything deliciuos and fresh always, but having met the owner's I can tell that each bread each pastry each little beautiful creation is made from the heart. I love that they have vegan options and I can always find something for every day or special occasions. Nothing gets a bigger "thank you " then when I bring a loaf of LA Calavera bread as a gift. Please keep baking!

Michael F. D. Anaya

I love this place! Great breads and pastries! Most of their breads are vegan and amazingly good! The only downside is that since they are a small bakery, they do commonly run out of certain breads.

I was expecting to see more traditional pan dulces. I was very disappointed. I got a fruit empanada which was pretty plain and did not like at all, the cheese danish was ok-ish honestly you could get a better one a the Paris Baguette which is kinda similar and much bettee tasting. The oreja was good and the "pay de elote" was ok-is I've tasted much better. I was expecting to see something like a concha or a galleta de tres colores or mantecadas. I quickly glanced over everything y nada. If you want some pan dulce head over to Buford Hwy or Doraville or Norcross and go to your local Mexican store and get some cheaper and better tasting pan dulce there.

My favorite bakery in town! I'm here several times a week for bread and sweets.
