JW has some of the highest quality pastries I've had in my life. Their fruit tart (my favorite) is to die for. It has the perfect balance of being sweet enough to know it's a pastry but not so much that it distracts from the flavor of the fruits and leaves your palate refreshed and satisfied.

My husband surprised me with a beautiful German Chocolate cake for my birthday. I want to tell you, it was THE BEST German Chocolate cake I have ever tasted (and I have had many German Chocolate cakes for my birthdays, trust me ). Everyone at the party raved and wanted more. Thank you to my husband for surprising me and thank you JW Pastry for creating such a beautiful and delicious cake. And, oh, by the way, did I mention the incredible chocolate chip cookies….? One word: Yum.

I have used this bakery twice already. Once for my sisters Engagement party cake and the second time for her bridal shower. Both times, the cake and the ring shaped cupcakes came out AMAZING. Not only was it tasty, it was also exactly how my sister wanted. John is very creative and super nice and helpful. He also responds quickly and is willing to work with you in anything that you need made. I will continue to use this bakery for future events, so i highly recommend it!

Jonathan made a cake for us last month for a family celebration and it was soooo delicious we had to order it again for my daughter’s birthday this month! My Mom swears in her almost 80 years it’s the best cake she’s ever had! He is amazing!!! He made a fabulous cake with chocolate ganache, crispies in a chocolate mousse and decorated the cake with macarons and colorful chocolate! Delicious & stunning!!! It was so beautiful and we couldn’t have been happier!! Can’t wait to order another one for our next event!!!

Just Me

I recently discovered JW Pastry and now I dream about their fresh fruit tart. It is outstanding and has the most delicious tart crust with an almond cake-ish layer held in place with a tiny layer of raspberry jam and THE MOST DELICIOUS PASTRY CUSTARD I'VE EVER HAD!! It's beyond delicious!! I've also had their guava cheese danish and garlic baguette, both also amazing. Not only are the products fresh and tasty, the owner Jonathan is very personable and will make special orders. I'm hooked and they for sure have a new customer for life!!

Jonathan made my sisters bridal shower cake! We ordered dulce de leche naked cake and it was AMAZING!! The taste of the dulce de leche was out of this world! It had a special touch of crunchy dulce de leche balls that made everyone fall in love with the taste! His pastries are also super delicious!!

The only independent bakery in the Davie area, and by far the best one for several miles. As great as the breads are (and I find the raisin walnut loaf to be my favorite), the pastries concocted by the owner are insanely good. The bread pudding is to die for, and I constantly find myself struggling to bring home fewer than three items a visit.

They have done it yet again. My daughter always chooses to give me difficult designs for cakes that not everyone can make to taste finger-licking-good. We have found our go-to cake bakery. Just a small shop but the most fantastic custom cakes and service around. When we needed a cake for the same day, Jonathan was able to create a great one in about an hour. Our adult son (who is rather difficult to please) said it was the "best cake he ever had!" At a later date with a few days notice, Jonathan created yet another fabulous custom cake with our specifications. Cookies are also very delicious.

Now my husband can only have Gluten Free and he has made him desserts he can enjoy with out a problem such as GF Apricot Rugelach, chocolate chip cookies.... This is a great bakery. I went in for a cup of coffee and a pastry. The Guava Cheese danish was deliciously decadent. While I was in the bakery, though, I was given a large piece of freshly-made garlic rosemary bread....that was incredible! I highly recommend this gem of a store to anyone who appreciates fresh bread (sweet or savory), pastries and other goodies (cheese straws looked tempting too!) --------------------- Update: my son got it in his head that he wanted an orange flavored cake for his birthday. I called JW Pastry and Jonathan made it happen! My son absolutely loved his orange cake. Not only was it beautiful but he said it tasted great and I 100% agree! Thank you!

My name is Tom and this my story lol. I was going to the physical therapist next door to JW Pastry. I arrived a little early so I figured I would grab a quick bite and proceeded to look in my GPS for nearby restaurants. As I was looking I noticed a place called The Good Pie Company/JW Pastry (2 stores in one place). When I went inside the first thing I noticed was the beautiful smell of freshly baked goodies & how clean the place was. The Good Pie Company is one place and JW pastry is another. The Good Pie Company have some amazing pies from spinach pie to apple pie, Cherry Pie, Artesian breads handcrafted pastries & custom pies just a phone call away. I mean I am Extremely impressed how organized they are. However I was more intrigued in the Sweet Tarts that I saw before my eyes (In the picture). I spoke with Jonathan who is a executive pastry chef and owner of JW pastries about how he crafted the Sweet Tarts. He really impressed me with the details on how he crafts these works of art. I decided to buy one sweet tart and let my taste buds and stomach do the judging. Let me tell you what, I fell in love with it, my stomach fell in love with it & my brain is now addicted to it lol. It's freaking Amazing!!! Just so you are aware I live about 40 minutes away from JW pastries and I come here 2 to 3 times a week! When something is that good and that cheap ($8.00), you cannot go wrong. The executive pastry chef Jonathan is a wonderful and honest person. Something you don't find a lot these days. Take my word for it, This Place Is Amazing. I promise you you will not be disappointed.

On several occasions I have had the honor of enjoying JW's desserts and while it's hard to choose my all time favorite cake, I think the vanilla one that has fruits inside has to win my vote! No wait....maybe its the blueberry muffins he did for my sons birthday? NO, the giant TWIX bar you did for my friend!!! WAIT!!!! I think its the gluten free guava Rugelach pastries!!!!!! Ok I can't decide but one thing is for sure - YOU WILL NEVER GO WRONG AT JW's!!!!!

It is an honor to write about this fabulous pastry shop! There is a reason why it won first place in Next Door voting for best pastry shop in Davie! Independently owned by Jonathan William, his pastries will have you going back again and again! My personal favorite is his freshly baked Double chocolate croissant . He can serve it up with the best café con leche too! See photo! Jw shares ovens with The Good Pie Company/ they get my vote for the best pies anywhere! The owners are Marty and Frank. Two plus their assistant Nicole are among the nicest people and they bake fresh pies and “Em “pie” nadas “. Their Guava with cheese is mouth watering! ( photo) if you go, chances are you will see me and my lovely photographer wife sitting at their cafe table! Enjoy!

Ordered a cheesecake as a "Thank You" gift for our pharmacy staff on August 3rd, everything from JW Pastry is made fresh from the berry compote to the chocolate ganache. Jonathan is an excellent baker, and even included complimentary cookies for us to try. The pharmacists even asked us where we got the cheesecake from given the freshness of the ingredients! I've ordered from JW bakery numerous times and have never been disappointed, I highly recommend that you stop on by whether you live in Davie or are staying in town for vacation. I tried their pastries at the Tamarac farmer's market, delicious back then and still just as delicious when you go to their pastry shop! My favorite savory baked goods are their cheddar cheese straws. Great quality desserts and they have very friendly customer service.

Absolutely fantastic pastries! Truly of the highest caliber. Very friendly service too. JW Pastry and "The Good Pie Shop" are in the same place but with their different wares. They do have a couple tables and an espresso machine if you would like to have a pastry and coffee there, but mainly it is bakery for a take out. Baking is done on site, which is such a rarity nowadays.

Jonathan is fantastic, creative, professional and amazing. We used JW Pastries (Jonathan) for our wedding venue and he and his artisan desserts were the talk of our wedding. First of all Jonathan made our wedding cake and it was the best cake we have ever had in our lives. In addition his macaroons, cream brûlée’s, tiramisu, chocolate boxes, cream puff pastries & cheesecake are the best, EVER! There are no words to describe the presentation, taste and unique service. Jonathan was on site wowing our guests with a unique twist on filling puff pastries with fresh cream and & firing up the cream brûlée’s & adding ice cream for all guests. We have had so many compliments. In addition he made morning breakfast for our guests which included a fresh cheese & guava danish to take home. Our guests were wowed. The dessert bar was the “talk” of our wedding! We are so blessed to have met Jonathan and will always utilize his services and sweets in the future! Thank you Jonathan & JW Pastries.

I have had the pleasure over the past few years to enjoy the CHOCOLATE CHUNK cookies on every occasion that they are brought in for my sister, a teacher at a local elementary school (please keep them coming!). These are the SINGLE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES I have EVER EATEN...in my life...and I LOVE to eat. I haven't been inside of the store yet, but I have also purchased the bakery goods at a local farmer's market and they NEVER DISAPPOINT! Run, don't walk to try one of everything here. My next goal is to walk into the store the minute a batch is pulled from the oven so that I can try them FRESH (LOL). Did I mention that these are THE BEST chocolate chip cookies I have ever eaten?

Jonathan was great. He did a last minute order for my wife's birthday. He asked me what she likes and what I want on her birthday cake. He made a delicious cake with chocolate moose, chocolate chips and cookies and cream. It was really good he had it ready on time and the price was really reasonable. I highly recommend this place for all your cake needs. while I was there I took some pastries and wow they were really good. They share store with a pie store but I didn't try anything from them. I get hungry just thinking about that cake, it was that good. My wife really enjoyed her cake and told me I did a good job on picking such a good cake for her.

Stopped by JW Pastries for coffee and croissants and we were very pleased! We had two Americano coffees, and they were perfect. But oh boy those croissants were soooo delicious!!! I had a chocolate almond croissant and my husband had the French almond croissant. The texture and flakiness were just what you would want from a fine French croissant - delicate, flaky, a little crisp on the outside and tender layers on the inside. Both had just the right amount of delicious filling. It is a smaller store with seating for just a few inside and a couple of tables out front, so we sat outside and enjoyed our food (there were a lot of customers coming in). I believe the owner was actually the person who helped us, and we could tell that he was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the food he serves. It was a delightful start to a weekend morning and we will be back! Highly recommend!!

I buy pastry’s from Johnatha at the farmers markets in Plantation and Tamarac. OMG! The almond croissants and chocolate chip cookies are what dreams are made of. The apple tart with raspberry jam made the traditional French way is incredible. It’s so nice to have these treats here in South Florida. You really can’t find anything like it anywhere else. I normally don't write these reviews but I felt compelled to do so. My CO worker surprised me with a custom made German chocolate cheese cake from JW pastry. It was themed after my favorite Star Wars Character (Darth Vader) and they nailed it! From the accuracy of the the fondant Vader masks to the precision of the crispy chocolate lightsaber on top. This is before even mentioning how amazing the cake actually tasted! The sponge was perfect, the cream cheese was delicate and smooth and the chocolate ganache was on point. The toasted coconut took it over the top for me! Perfection in a cake. Highly recommended!!

I found JW Pastry in an internet search when I discovered 3 weeks before my daughter's 1st birthday party that my local grocery store doesn't do a ladybug cake. So I went in search of a bakery for a custom cake. I emailed the shop and received a prompt response. Jonathan was friendly and open to create whatever I envisioned for her big day. The cakes turned out adorable! I got a ton of compliments on how they looked and even more importantly how it tasted. As a bonus, the price was very reasonable. I would definitely use JW Pastry again for a custom cake.

Highly recommend, I emailed Johnathan the owner inquiring about a custom cake for a friend's birthday. Got a prompt response and sent him an example of a cake and requested it be similar to the picture and he did an awesome job. The cake was beautiful and delicious! Everyone loved it and the cake was a very reasonable price. Also, when picking up the cake, there is a lovely display when you walk in of pastries and I just could not resist in getting one, also very delicious. I will definitely be coming back in the future for pastries and coffee and any custom cakes I need.

Second time I’ve gotten pastries from here and simply amazed! We were able to get fresh baked pastries on the morning of Mother’s Day. He took my order the day prior and opened a bit earlier so that I could get them fresh in time for breakfast in bed. Yesterday I emailed my order in and picked up 12 fresh pastries along with 2 fresh baguettes for a brunch I put together at home. Everyone absolutely loved it! Response time, reliability, customer service, quality, and taste... 5 stars across! My wife is from France and she swears he makes the best almond croissant she’s ever had. I wanted a special cake for my wife’s 60th birthday and that’s what I got when I went to JWPastry. I told Jonathan (the owner) what kind of cake I wanted and he did not dissapoint. While visiting family this past week in Plantation, my wife and I happened upon this wonderfully nondescript bakery. What a delight and treat we were in for. Upon being welcomed in by the owner, he kindly offered us some samples and patiently awaited as we painstakingly made a decision as to what to order; this is no small feat when every pastry, muffin, or pie looks just as delicious as another. I chose the cranberry muffin and it was very moist; the cranberries were fresh and there was a welcome hint of cream cheese in the muffin. My wife chose the French almond croissant, which was equally delicious and flaky. We told her relatives whom we were staying with they needed to get down here ASAP and try these pastries. You can be sure the next time we are down to visit, this will be one of our first stops! If you ever decide to pick up and move, please come to us in Franklin, TN. Keep up the great work chef!

JW Pastry is a fantastic bakery that produces the best scones, muffins, cakes, pastry, pies, and biscotti. While on vacation in Florida, I was lucky enough to find this gem after searching, and not finding anything comparable. The staff is very informative in answering questions concerning ingredients and other concerns such as vegan and lactose issues. The owner, Jonathan, was nice enough to whip up a bunch of scones for me within an hour of my call. I recommend them very highly.
