This location packs the flavors without being too sweet. I think a lot of bakeries fall into the trap of adding tons of sugar to hide the lack of flavor. Thankfully this location doesn't do that. The flavors here really jump out and will make us return customers.

Stopped by their cupcake truck in New Haven to try a few flavors, and I was blown away! The cake itself was fluffy and moist, and frosting was light and creamy, and the flavors were AMAZING! Not even a hint of artificial, the flavors were authentic and rich. Overall, well worth the price of the cupcakes!

Wow. It’s no wonder this place won Cupcake Wars. We got four cupcakes and they were everything. Decadent and moist but not overwhelmingly sweet. The flavors of each one shone. We had a key lime cupcake that was perfect and the coconut cupcake was dazzling! Get ready to add this place to your favorites!

The cupcakes are so delicious I questioned at first whether they were still cooked inside that's how moist and delicious they are. I recommend this bakery to anybody who likes baked goods! Sugar always has the most amazing flavors of cupcakes. My favorite is the cannolli. I had a 6 pack of cupcakes done for mom's birthday a few years back and they didn't disappoint.

Cupcakes are definitely shrinking, used to be larger. They said to another customer with the same complaint that they are using the same size pans, but in my opinion they are not filling them as much as they used to.

I worked next to them on a food truck in New Britain and every time I see them I have gotten their absolutely phenomenal cupcakes. The guy working on the truck heard me get excited over the pumpkin cheesecake flavor. When I went back at the end of my shift I was upset to see they were sold out of that flavor and the guy said don’t worry I heard you mention it and I saved you one. Not only the greatest cupcakes I’ve ever had in my life but excellent customer service. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

I think this is the 2nd or 3rd year that the Sugar Cupcakery & Bakery Truck came to my workplace. They usually send 2 hours from 11:30am to 1:30pm. The cupcakes... no doubt are execellent!!! However the service this year was a huge disappointment. So, I came almost 1pm and there were few flavors left. I ask what flavors they have left and the guy in the truck (tall, dark shade of hair and I think he has a beard - I wish I got his name) just spoke to me on a high irritated tone "Whatever at front." I was taken aback by his rudeness. He is such a bad image for the company.

Sugar Bakery is usually our families go to for cupcakes for any special events or birthdays we have. They are so so good. They have standard cupcake flavors, rotating seasonal flavors, as well as their innovative and creative flavors that make regular, rotating appearances in their case. My favorite flavor is the snicker cupcake, it tastes how it sounds, the cake is delicious, moist and dense but somehow light at the same time. The frosting is sweet but not to sweet, it perfectly compliments the cake and snicker filling. The cabernet cupcake is also so incredibly good - wine flavored cake is so hard to pull off but they manage to do it perfectly and it has a rich, perfectly matched chocolate ganache / chocolate frosting topping. They also have fun flavors like unicorn poop (it is so pretty and colorful), oreo explosion, sweet potato marshmallow, and reeses riot. Whatever your taste you will find something here for you. They even have a small selection of vegan and gluten free cupcakes, so everyone really can find something! Sugar never disappoints and it is a way better gift than a dozen roses for that special someone!

Wow! That is pretty much all that I can say to describe how amazing this place is and quite honestly, this is how every business should run their organization. I had the task of finding a great dessert for my best friend's bridal shower and let me just say how SMOOTH and EASY the whole process was from setting up an appointment to communicate my needs, to picking up the cupcakes and to returning the tower. I met with the owner (her name escapes me!) and she was so nice! She took the time to help me pick out items for guests and that fit into my budget!!! That is so important because sometimes you meet with folks and they always try to peddle more unnecessary things, that is NOT the case here! These are hardworking nice decent folks which is a rarity nowadays. They've got the customer service, reasonable prices and the cupcakes are AMAZING. They are visually stunning and DELICIOUS! Honestly, there is not one bad thing I could say about this place, my overall experience or the cupcakes. I came about three different occasions and the cupcakes were good each time too, the only hard part was deciding which ones to get! Very kind and hardworking people here who put a lot of love into those cupcakes. The guests and most importantly, the bride-to-be, loved the cupcakes. I will definitely use in the future for any event that I have going forward, I highly recommend this business for both the food and customer service.

They have all sorts of party accessories and hand made items as well as a party area for a birthday celebration. They really have thought of just about everything here. Also service is perfect. Just recently discovered this bakery is “Gluten Friendly” not GLUTEN FREE. Why advertise gluten friendly if cross contamination is occurring anyone that has Celiac knows it can still cause a reaction even if the amount of gluten is minor. Also if the cakes AREN’T gluten free why charge an extra $15 and say it will be Gluten Free!

What can i say , the most DELICIOUS cupcakes around! It is truly a shopping, dining experience just going into their shop. I brought my nephew in and OMG- he was in awe, his eyes lit up and he was in heaven. Just a warning tho- once you buy and bite you are freaking HOOKED!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered the strawberry shortcake cake with sugar flowers for my parents 60th anniversary party. WOW!!! Not only was it beautiful, it was super delicious. The real whip cream topping was delicious. Not too sweet and delicious with the cake and strawberries. Everyone raved about it and wanted seconds. I would highly recommend this and I’ll be sure to get it again myself.

This used to be my go to place for any and every event I had so I was surprised at the poor customer service I received for my last event. I know they are very busy and so I never take offense if they are too booked to fill an order. It did however bother me that it took a week for my email to be answered. When it was answered, my response back to them had a question and that email was never answered. I feel that a business should always get back to their customers, it’s rude not to.

FALSE ADVERTISING FOR GLUTEN FREE PRODUCTS. I have Celiac and have a high intolerance to gluten, those who have Celiac understand you cannot eat anything you used to enjoy and it's not a fun to get used to. I paid extra for a gluten free cake and it was not gluten free. I was sick after eating my cake for my birthday which is not what I was expecting at all..... When asked about Sugars "gluten free products" they state their products are "Gluten friendly" which means there is cross contamination some where in the cake making process. IF YOU HAVE CELIAC Avoid Sugar

The owner's daughter won the Cup Cake War at Food Network. I personally think their cakes are great even though not HEALTHY. I used to order their goodies for school kids, one point I realized one of kids has peanut allergy, then everything went wrong. the owner got attitudes, asked outrageous "DEPOSIT" which they never asked before. so I had to cancel all orders I did. then I found only myself was regret. they don't seem regret. I shouldn't even know this shop! just FYI, do not tell about PEANUT ALLERGY.

I spotted this cupcake truck while shopping at the Clinton outlets. I'm so glad I did!! I bought four cupcakes (lemon, carrot and 2 hostess). I will say the lemon cupcake was the best cupcake I've ever eaten!!! The cupcake was light, the frosting wasn't heavy. It had such a good flavor. I was sad that I only bought one lemon cupcake. My husband ate the others and said that they were excellent as well. I unfortunately live an hour away from the outlets. I've checked out the website and I will be making a road trip soon just to buy more cupcakes. If you are in the Connecticut area and anywhere near this bakery or cupcake truck, I highly recommend you stop in and try a cupcake. :-)

Over the weekend my husband and I got married and Sugar Bakery was one of the cake vendors for our venue. While they came and set up the cupcakes we ordered, my husband and his best man over heard the owners husband talking to staff of the venue and other vendors. He was saying we were cheap because we didn't want any of the extras that they offer or a mini cake on top to go with the cupcakes. This was extremely unprofessional. We did pay for an extra addition to our cupcakes, so this statement is unfounded. And even if we hadn't, to say we were cheap with the desserts for our guests was uncalled for.

Today I got two hostess style cupcakes. They were cold like they had been in a refrigerator and the cream filling was solid.
