I love the selection at Roly Poly especially the potato kishka, the almond and honey cake and the extensive selections of polish hams, bacon, kielbasa and liverwurst. A bakery that you dream about, and lives up to the expectations. The best rye bread and tasty horn rolls, made just like they used to be. A deli that features Polish style meats, and also prepared hot foods, such as golombki (stuffed cabbage), pierogi with a variety of fillings, as well as assorted and perfectly prepared meats.

Great selection, but PRICEY. The hot meals are also ok. The birthday cakes are amazing, both in flavor and look. The only thing that sucked was seeing once around closing time when they were Windex-ing the glass food displays and the cleaning product was going all over the meats and kielbasa that were on top of the display. Have you ever bought fresh kielbasa and when you brought it home thought, "I should probably wash this off"? Me neither.

Great place to get pierogis. Authentic polish bakery from the staff who speaks polish, great polish food, baked treats, desserts, dinners, breads and so much more. Even a place to eat. Though can go for lunch buy fresh polish hot food and eat in the little table area that overlooks the bakery. Everyone was very nice and spoke polish and English. Great family bakery.

Top quality cold cuts and they are way cheaper then the grocery stores....i suggest the gypsy loin and the chicken breast that has the dill and roasted pepper.....the bread is always fresh.....and they have awesome food related gifts for all holidays.....cant forget the great alcohol filled chocolates

A littel gem of a store, more than a far more than a bakery. Going at Christmas is a treat, the store has the feel of old Europe with huge selections of candy, pastry, stuffed cabbage, pierogi and so many assorted Eastern European foods. The language spoken in the shop is mostly Polish but there are English speaking workers as well and they are so very helpful. If you want a taste, they're happy to serve you. Their salads are very good... beet salad, cucumber salad, Polish cole slaw with mayonnaise is so good, and their vegetable salad is incredible. For Easter the shop changes decorations and again has an old world Easter feel to it. Great Easter goodies are available. It's fun to go, bring your children or grandchildren, it's really an experience, and a fun one.

Love the store, this is more than just a bakery, and if you are from Europe this store is probably familiar to you. It carries a variety of goods that we Europeans like to use in preparing our foods, there is a small meat section, a deli section, where you also can buy lunch if you are in the area. Then of course there is the bakery but two days before Christmas was a busy day to go shopping, yet everyone was friendly both customers and the staff.

this was a fun place to visit. It's a polish bakery that is so much more then a bakery. It's actually a small super market. Most of the staff spoke Polish but understood what we were looking for when we had some questions. There are loads of speciality foods, Mostly Polish. There is also a small cafe there that we did not try.

You'd never guess from the name, but Roly Poly has the best take & cook Polish food in the region: Pierogi with traditional fillings + unusual ones, Kishka, Polish stuffed cabbage, mushroom dishes, soups, pastries, candies. You can get everything for a Christmas Eve meatless vigil meal (except oplatek wafer from a Catholic Polish church to share with everyone, symbolically permanently burying the past year's transgressions: any special bread can work if you have the intention but aren't Catholic). Roly Poly is what I imagine it'd be like if you were transported to a well-stocked shop in a Polish village, (with some items from adjacent countries as well).

Not very accomadting of non-Polish speakers. I waited 10 minutes in the wrong part of a line waiting to buy kielbasa while other people behind me were served first. After ten minutes of waiting to be served I asked an employee(had to ask multiple people since the first person I asked spoke no English) and was told there's a line. I had to wait another five minutes to get my meat. The product is good through, which is why this isn't a one star review.

Had a really Bad experience there. It was my first time going here and I have to say I will never be back!! I waited in the deli line for about 15 to 20 minutes with no customer service! I would occasionally get looked at when they was done with a customer and then they would Disappear like if they didn’t want to help me. Now I know I’m not Polish I’m Spanish but still my money still the same! Now I gave them one star for there customer service. It should be a 0.

Best Polish bakery....or any bakery for that matter! Delicious pastries, hot and cold deli meats, pierogies, fresh baked rye bread and every other Polish delicatessen item imaginable, but most are too hard for me to spell here. I am not Polish nor do I speak it well, but most of the friendly staff speak English or will quickly grab one of their younger associates who do to assist you so fear not the language barrier and let your eyes see, your nose smell and you mouth feast in the delights of the old country right here in New Britain!

One of my favorite places in New Britain. Nice selection of prepared foods. It's sort of a bakery, deli, and Polish grocery store rolled into one. While I haven't learned to speak Polish, I've managed to navigate the store. They are also pretty helpful.

The deli is stocked with the freshest meats I've ever had. The imported stuff is all fresh and is priced pretty well. Their bakery is phenomenal with everything being made fresh and being constantly brought out. The desserts are some of the best I've had, period. Their canned products are great (try some of the fish pastes). *Some of the employees don't speak English well, so maybe bring a Polish-speaker for the best experience or just politely ask another customer for assistance. The employees are extremely nice, however, so the language barrier is the only minor annoyance. Oh, they also have a butcher with fresh smoked/cured meats and fish. Smoked eels are awesome and the bacon is some of the thickest, cleanest cut I've seen.

I love how big this spot has gotten. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Now I bring my son to teach him what yummy food is in his Polish heritage. To those who are not Polish I do not recommend a first time visit on or a day before Black Friday/ Easter/ Christmas Eve. Lots of last minute Polish shoppers ( I among them) and we will wait patiently in line for hours just to get the right meat and cake.

Superb mouth watering food on display. For example, their poppy seed cake varieties are positively addictive...Disclaimer: Not for people watching their waistlines; no wonder they call it Roly Poly. The reason why no five star rating: The Polish owners should hire a knowledgeable, roving salesperson who speaks fluent English, plus Spanish, (and maybe western Ukrainian?) to address their increasingly multi-ethnic clientele.

First of all the food is as good as it gets! I grew up in NYC during the 50's when there was a substantial Polish community, including restaurants and supermarkets, on the lower East side (Ave A.). Roly Poly Bakery has the same quality/tasting food as they did. Yesterday I drove two hours round-trip to pickup $120 worth of food. It also takes me back to my childhood!

Picked up a few rolls and pierogi's. Follow up review. Today my girlfriend and I had Salmon dinner's for lunch. They were really good. My friend had Salmon, mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy and salad. I had salmon, roasted potatoes, and salad. We ate in which was nice to sit up above the shoppers. We had a good time.

I don't speak Polish, but Google Translate goes a long way to helping me find some amazing, incredibly cheap and rare snacks from Europe here. Staff is helpful, don't be intimidated by the lack of English signage- the bakery is to die for and their meats are second to none. Try the cappuccino cake.

This place is wonderful all different kinds of kabasi and polish cheeses, many varieties of pierogis, hot and cold foods from the deli. And a delicious assortment of pastries. There are Isles and Isles of Delicacies Jarred and canned. When you walk into this wonderful store you can smell all the Aromas of the fresh Delicacies that are available. We have been there many times and we will be back many more!

100% authentic Polish deli and bakery. Very clean and quaint. Would definitely help if you can speak Polish, but it's not necessary to order and enjoy some of the best deli meats and cheeses you'll ever have. Very friendly staff, willing to help you if you need it. Their bakery also has incredible cakes and pastries. Been going here for many years. My wife is Polish, but I am not. My favorite part of this place is its incredible authenticity.
