45 minute wait and an overall 2 hour meal for very lethargic service and a hard boiled poached egg. Food otherwise was tasty. Better off elsewhere for my money.

Tried the banana bread french toast. I do not recommend it. It was quite dry, and though syrup and butter made it edible it was still way too dry. So the food was two stars but I added an extra because the service was great. Quick, attentive and friendly. I'll give this place another chance sometime and try something else.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first meal at the egg shell. The outdoor patio is a lovely space and our cheery server was prompt and attentive. The real show stealer was the shooting star skillet... Loaded up with tots and cream cheese. Delish!

Best pancakes anywhere. I don't know why but the batter combined with real maple syrup is the best. They serve tater tots instead of hash browns so a little different. Coffee is strong but not bitter like the popular brands today. As good as the food is, I'm always amazed it's never busy for being in the heart of LODO.

Experienced The Egg Shell one morning while staying at a nearby hotel. The food was excellent, and so much so, we had breakfast there the next morning. Would highly recommend the Denver Omelette and the stack of pancakes. Also found the servers to be very friendly and helpful, greeting diners with a smile and pleasant conversation.

Amazing food! Fresh, local, and no wait. I had a Shooting Star skillet with tater tots that was incredibly tasty. I'm still thinking about that meal and it's been days. Would highly recommend (skip Sam #3 and walk a block to this place).

Great ambience and yummy food. We were debating between syrup and eggshell. The food was light but delightful. We ordered the Swedish crepes, banana nut bread, egg Benedict, and granola French toast. All of the options were really good. The staff was awesome and it didn’t take too long to make. I highly recommend this place plus the wait was not too long. Not a fan of the hollandaise sauce with the egg Benedict but my friends enjoyed it. The tater tots weren’t too bad but you can’t expect much in that area I guess. Overall, it was a pleasure.

Quaint breakfast eatery in the heart of downtown Denver. Anyone looking for a quick, but tasty, coffee and croissant should definitely stop here on their way to work especially if they want to mix it up and not go to Starbucks. The servers are the perfect amount of friendly and humorous for an early morning meal and the prices are quite reasonable.

This is a good breakfast spot. I friend or and will go back as it's conveniently located, has a good set of choices, and is reasonable. I did experience a problem with one of the dishes on my last visit that was quickly and correctly fixed grin the customer's point of view. I was a little surprised the owner started that she had yelled at one of the kitchen staff that had made the mistake. Good employees are hard to grow and worth keeping.

The pancakes of from the egg shell were very good, however not extraordinary. They were above average for buttermilk, but what was truly delicious and worth going back for are the Swedish pancakes with Lingonberry Sauce. The pancakes were perfect, and the sauce was one of the best Lingonberry sauces I have had. Also, the coffee is worth pointing out. It was very good coffee from Boulder, Colorado, was no additional cost, and they will give you a coffee in a to-go cup for free as well as you leave.

Thank you! Wonderful hospitality and service; and the kitchen prepares food like they care! I thought this was going to be a tired, dated breakfast spot (sorry....)...but the atmosphere is clean and contemporary. We dug in, so here’s a pic of a mostly eaten plate and my Bloody Mary, after eating the full size olive and dill pickle. We’ll be back. (Initially went to syrup, down the street, but they had a 45 minute wait, 11 empty tables, no air conditioning and many many tables without food...what a blessing in disguise!) TIP: call in to place your name on wait list! ALSO, Patio has FULL SHADE :-)

The tator tots are a sad excuse for "home cooked style breakfast". They didn't put eggs in my burrito and it was partial cold. The French toast was pretty good saving a 1 star. Waitress was nice and gave us a discount on our meal. But the quality of the food for the price was subpar

The was not wait, which should have been a huge red flag on a Sunday morning. Potato pancakes were under cooked. I could see there was bacon in the potatoes, but could not taste it. Over easy eggs were over cooked. Toast was soggy. Mediocre is how I would describe this meal. I feel you have to try to mess up breakfast food and that is what I experienced.

Friendly staff and relatively quick service. My issue is with the quality of food. Ordered a coffee and the mug had lipstick all over the edge. Ordered eggs Benedict and the eggs were raw. Looked like snot running off of the English muffin. The whites were unbelievably raw. Both were brought to the attention of the server who apologized but offered no solutions. Spent $50 on nothing. Will not be back.

VERY good place to grab some breakfast within the Denver area. The prices are reasonable and I'd recommend it to anyone else. My only gripe was the quality of the coffee and the staff. We almost went the entire meal with being given utensils and the coffee easily tasted like something I got from my days in the Navy, pretty bad.

For me, this place does not feel like a breakfast place, it’s a sandwich shop. The bacon tasted like it was reheated vs fresh. The hash browns are tater tots, which were good, but I would have preferred a good serving of Hash Browns. The sausage patties tasted store bought. The menu is confusing, like do I get pancakes or toast with my breakfast. I would suggest they do a little more to make it less confusing if this were my first time going.

Rather disappointing breakfast. I inquired as to whether the ingredients in the skillet were all vegetarian, and the server responded, "It's gluten free." I did end up ordering it after asking again, and the tater tots were soggy and the mushrooms tough, as if they'd been frozen. The toast was done properly.

Light and airy space to enjoy breakfast. The granola crusted croissant French toast was really good as was the banana bread French toast. Appropriate sized servings, not some monster meal. Coffee was good and staff was friendly. It wasn't very busy, even at 9:30 on a Saturday morning which was nice too.
