As bakeries go it's ok.

I called the bakery with a very specific custom cake order (A giant fortune cookie made out of red velvet cake) the baker was super positive and confident she should creat the design I asked for. Upon the pick-up we were blown away!!! It was more then we could have imagined.. It was more then perfect, and to top it all off, it tasted just as good as it looked. I cannot express my sincere thanks enough for making a special day even more memorable. A true center piece and topic for conversation. I know I will be ordering cakes in the future from here!

My wife and I worked with Button Rock Bakery to bake our wedding cake. Their staff was patient, knowledgeable, and kind during our tasting and helped us create exactly what we wanted. We visited a number of vendors around Boulder County, and, ultimately, selected BRB because their cakes were the tastiest -- no question. We would highly recommend Button Rock Bakery for your wedding, too!

This is not regular wedding cake this is cool wedding cake ;). But seriously my husband hates cake and he tried one of their cupcakes at a wedding show and fell in love! My guests were specifically coming up and asking me who did the cake! They are very affordable and are soooo easy to work with. Did I mention the cake is AMAZING!?!?!? Thank you guys so much!!!

Button Rock made our cakes for our wedding and they were outstanding. So beautifully made, delicious flavors, and perfectly baked. The guests were going back for seconds right after their first piece was finished. The whole experience was perfect, from their method of a taste testing, the communication between booking and day of, to the day of presentation. Even looking at my leftover pieces I am in awe at the beautiful cakes they presented us with.

Delish cupcakes and cakes but the cookie I had was as hard as a biscuiti which in my book forever tarnishs a bakery

We love Button Rock! We buy the cakes regularly for birthdays. Last night we bought a raspberry truffle cake. It was delicious with jelly between the layers. It was beautiful with fondant on top and chocolate decorations with a raspberry macaroon too! I wish we would’ve got a picture. But we ate it too fast!

Love this place! The owner knows good baking

Ok bakery but a little pricey. Love their cake pops and brownies. Do not like the cupcakes or icing at all. Button Rock says icing is butter cream but it tastes like the grocery store whippy to me. There is a restaurant across 95th that has much better cupcakes with buttercream icing and wonderful flavors. Lastly, just called to get the flavor of cake pops available and hung up after holding for 5 minutes. I also called about 5 times in a row a month ago to get info and they didn't answer phone. I walked in 5 minutes after calling and asked why they didn't answer the phone and got vague answer with no apology. I am done with this place and will find cake pops elsewhere. To me, they really don't seem to care if they have customers.

So I’m moving out of Colorado in a month and the thing that saddens me the most about moving isn’t the mountains, it isn’t my friends and family, it isn’t the sunny weather....but this bakery! If you haven’t gotten an amazing Pinterest-worthy cake from here yet then you aren’t living your best life. If you haven’t stopped in for a cookie or treat please do it. It will change your life.

I ordered cupcakes for my child’s birthday party, and they were delicious! We also ordered a half dozen gluten-free, dairy free cupcakes for some of our guests, and I can tell you they are amazing. Everyone was happy, the children were all able to participate, and the cupcakes were delicious!

Jodie is amazing and eager to work with allergy sufferers!

My husband and I used Button Rock Bakery for our wedding and thanks to them our cake and dessert table was absolutely delicious! For our wedding we wanted a smaller two-tiered cake that was gluten free for me and a few guests, but we wanted a variety of cupcakes and donut holes for the rest of our guests to choose from. During our planning meeting Button Rock was incredible about giving us so many option and ideas, we ended up going with three different cupcake flavors: carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, chocolate with a chocolate ganache filling and raspberry frosting, and a vanilla with a lemon curd layered topping with a strawberry frosting. We also had vanilla, chocolate, and sugar-coated donut holes. To say the dessert was incredible is still an understatement. Everything tasted wonderful and the presentation was beautiful. We received so many comments on how great Button Rock Bakery did. We will definitely be using them again for any future special occasions.

Sunny Tanecka

The cakes and cupcakes are delicious but the customer service and planning on the part of the company is horrible. I needed a special order of cupcakes for our wedding party. Called a month prior to our event to place order. Gave them the date we needed and they informed me they only needed 2 days notice. Went in a week before to order (this past Sunday) and they informed me majority of staff were out of town for training and they couldn't handle special orders. You're telling me you didn't know about this training 3 weeks ago when I called to place my order?

Super yummy gluten-free options!!! Their cupcakes were a bit bland but their cinnamon rolls were fantastic!! The space is pretty minimalistic and they don’t have a ton of coffee options but it’s a quality bakery.

Amazing! I am planning my wedding in Estes Park from Texas. After trying several bakeries from Denver to Longmont unimpressed, my fiance found Button Rock. We knew exactly what we wanted: almond cake (which was tricky enough to find without being in a different state), wanted to be able to taste the cakes, have an official contract, and a reasonable delivery fee. We found all of that here! our tasting experience was hands down the best experience we had. We were escorted upstairs to their tasting room where they had HUGE cupcakes of various flavors (carrot cake, traditional white, red velvet, chocolate and the almond cake) and huge spoonfuls of their different icings and fillings to give us full freedom to mix and match different flavor combinations to find a flavor that was "us" (almond cake with raspberry creme filling is what we ended up really liking ). By the end of our tasting we were sure this is where our wedding cake would be from so we booked them! I'll post photos of our wedding cake after our February wedding! being an out of town bride it's hard to plan and trust the quality and integrity of vendors. With Button Rock have 110% confidence in the quality, and integrity of not only their work but their people.

I pre-ordered a 2 doz holiday COOKIE platter. It came with 5 decorated pretzels that were included in the 2 doz cookie count. You should inform customers when they order that its not all cookies. I can decorate my own pretzels.

Button Rock did our wedding cake. My husband is celiac and he did not get sick! Not to mention, it was delicious which can be difficult to find.

This Bakery has a new theme every month, and the treats just keep getting better. They have a huge selection of gluten-free and a vast selection of vegan options. If you have a love for ginger cookies I recommend going in the fall because they are absolutely phenomenal.

Someone brought us some items from here, and I wasn’t very fond of the items. I really wanted to like them, too, they looked so pretty. Eclairs were dry and filled with whipped cream instead of pastry cream which is something of a cheat, and disappointing when you expect pastry cream. Also whipped cream starts to coat the mouth in larger quantities. The dryness also made me wonder if they were buying premade shells. Pastry cream isn’t that hard to make, but it does take a bit more time than whipped cream since there’s cooking and stirring involved. I also tried a rolled up something that looked a bit like a short cannoli. The rolled up pastry was sort of rubbery/wet which made me wonder how old it was. Flavors were fine, but the shell texture sort of ruined the whole thing. There’s also a Napoleon looking item that’s similar to strawberry shortcake only w flaky pastry. Textures on this were good w pastry being crisp. I personally find it to be too much whipped cream which starts to feel greasy to me and sort of flat in flavor. that’s also exacerbated by the oil from the whipped cream coating the mouth since it blocks the taste buds. However if you really like whipped cream, this is the item I would recommend for you. These guys definitely do understand presentation - everything looked beautiful. I just think they may be taking too many shortcuts so the taste doesn’t match the presentation.

THANK YOU for the most amazing cake. You captured our vision of our cake in the most amazing way! The cake was beyond delicious and we had so many rave reviews of how great the cake tasted! We had feedback that our cake was "the best tasting wedding cake I've ever had!' We heard this feedback from ALL our guests! We LOVED it!

Lindsey Terranova

WE LOVE this bakery. We always used to go to Indulge before it was sold to Button Rock Bakery and we love the changes we've seen. The cake is still amazing (our favorite is the marble cake, cookies and cream filling, and vanilla buttercream frosting) and there is so much attention to detail. We have now ordered two birthday cakes since the switch over. We regularly stop in for sugar cookies and pastries. In addition to that, the owner Jamie is very hands on and Sarah at the front desk is kind and helpful. If the quality of the goods wasn't enough reason to come here, a couple months ago, I approached the owner Jamie about donating desserts for a life celebration of a local little girl who passed away from cancer and I was told by Jamie, that she would do whatever she could to help. She donated amazing sugar cookies, truffles and macaroons for the event. They were absolutely delicious and enjoyed by all! They are working so hard for their customers and are a staple of our community.

Incredible!!! One of the best bakeries, if not the best! All the way from, Illinois, we were visiting Boulder, CO and took the short drive to Lafayette, CO and it was so worth it!!! Jamie, the owner, was so personable and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome at her bakery and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. We bought several different pastries and bakery and my family could not decide which item was their favorite. Every item was AMAZING!!!

They charge 15 dollars for a less than a mile delivery! Crazy! Use postmates or doordash for cheap delivery at eats and sweets. Makes no sense they are not on this app! Baked items are costly as well. Key lime pie is good though.

They recently provided the wedding cakes for a wedding that I planned. We had 8 individual cakes that were designed for each table. The cakes were a huge hit! The flavors and texture were fabulous! Lemon Poppyseed with lemon curd was outstanding. I would recommend them for another wedding for delivering a very high quality product.

Stopped to pick up donuts to take to the office in Boulder. That was a bust, as this bakery is not the type that sells donuts. Thought about going with pastries instead, but there wouldn't have been enough in the case to bring to my department of 30. And the pastries are all in the $4-5 range. Fine for breakfast for one or two people, but not very realistic for a group. (Donuts for 30 at another bakery for $20, or pastries here for $120? Easy call.) Ordered myself a cinnamon roll and a coffee so as not to leave empty-handed. The cinnamon roll tasted fine, sort of a Cinnabon copycat recipe that was good but not exceptional enough to warrant the high price. Coffee was warm, not hot. I had to serve my own coffee out of an air-pot, which felt sort of gas-stationy to me, but the flavor was good. Nice atmosphere, but I got the overall impression that they don't get a lot of morning business, so they charge extremely high prices to compensate. Not a fan of that business model. The sole employee on the premises offered to sell me a box of day-old pastries for $6 (regular) or $8 (gluten-free). However, this was in an opaque box that was taped shut. She would not open it to let me see what I would be buying. (I guess it's a "surprise box." No thanks, I don't like surprises when spending my money. I assume that if they want your money before they let you see what you purchased, there's a reason, and so this was a hard pass.) I was very pleased to see that they have gluten-free offerings. I might come back sometime with my daughter (who has Celiac) to try these, as the other reviews speak favorably about these items. I was also pleased that they take AmEx, as this is very important to me. The shopping center is really tricky to navigate, and when exiting, you can only go east on Arapahoe. I had to backtrack a mile and turn around to go west. (I'm not factoring this into their score, as it's beyond their control, but wanted to give people a heads-up that exiting may be an inconvenience if you're headed toward Boulder instead of Erie.) Their cakes in the case looked absolutely stunning. I would suggest that they market themselves as a cake shop and not a bakery. If I had been shopping for a wedding cake or a fancy birthday cake, this would have been a great find. But from a bakery standpoint, this was a very disappointing experience. Not bad enough that I would want my money back (adequate cinnamon roll, nearly adequate coffee), but not really good enough to make me want to come back ever again.

every kind of tasty creation you can imagine at this lovely bakery!

Incredible pastries and really nice staff. A well run place.

Expected Better For Price Ordered a smash cake and matching cupcakes for my son's 1st birthday. The smash cake was awesome! Well decorated and perfect size for him. I think it was around $16, with a purchase minimum (cannot remember the exact amount). I ordered 2 dozen choc/vanilla regular cupcakes plus one dozen lemon/red velvet gluten-free cupcakes. While they looked good, the frosting on the cupcakes was disgusting. It tasted like crisco frosting and I saw many scraping it off. We had 40 people at his party and literally could not give them away at the end. I have made plenty of red velvet cakes in my time and the gf red velvet cupcakes were very disappointing in flavor, as were the lemon. The regular chocolate and vanilla were nothing to write home about . Beyond the cute decoration on the top, someone told me tasted literally the same as the cheap walmart mini cupcakes that someone else brought (thought mine were 10x more). We spent a total of $140 for 3 dozen cupcakes and the smash cake and I was very disappointed overall. To top it off, I was asked if I wanted to tip the decorator- isn't that what I paying $140 for when I order special cupcakes from a bakery? I felt obligated and added a tip so ended up spending over $150 for 36 cupcakes and a 4"smash cake.

I can't say enough good things about this wonderful bakery - I work at an event venue in downtown Boulder and have many clients that use Button Rock Bakery for everything from wedding cakes to cookies! The whole crew over there is a joy to work with and I would highly recommend them. One of my favorite bakeries!
