I have to say the best true bran muffin I’ve ever had is from this company at this location. A little pricy for a muffin but well worth it. This last visit there was only one left and it was really fresh. Unfortunately for the downtown Disney location last I was there I got to and they were dry and stale. I realized this too late when I was to far to complain to the store manager. Anyway I’d get here really early to get some bran muffins they go fast and they only bake so many per day.

Absolutely breathtaking food and service! The venue is clean and we were greeted quickly. This place is where you order and they give you a number to take back to a table. You seat yourself. The smells lure you into a raging hunger and the displays are very appetizing. The food was delicious and flavorful! There was a plethora of food options. They also sell adult libations to moisten your palette as you shovel the food into your mouth. I definitely recommend this place!

It's been about a year since my last visit here and I'm hoping that today's experience is not the new norm. I went with a friend for a late lunch (2:30pm) at the bar. Everyone in the place already had their food and most were about to pay their tabs and leave. We ordered right away and then waited 40 minutes for a salad and a pizza. Then we had to ask for napkins and silverware. The staff seemed to wonder around with no urgency or concern. The food was as I remembered it--delicious--but the wait and overall poor service made for a disappointing experience. I was also disappointed to see only a fraction of the baked goods usually available from the bakery. Not sure I would rush back

Usually take out but I ordered to eat there today. Last time the staff brought me the wrong food, and today I canceled because the staff didn't bring me the bread I ordered. It took a long time to cancel, so I just brought the bread that didn't warm up.

I’ve been driving by this place for a year, wanting to go. Finally had the opportunity to drive into LA (from 45 miles East) just to try the La Brea Bakery. I’m so glad I did....Everything from the service, food, staff, and management was absolutely wonderful!!! I would have given it 10 stars if possible! Definitely worth an hour drive! Finally found a place in LA where I can drink coffee while I enjoy people watching. Definitely coming back next month!

The rare roast beef i ordered was medium to well done, the roll soft (said crusty on the menu), horseradish you could not taste and the salad out of balance ingredient-wise with a bland dressing. Pretty much a lousy food experience in an inviting atmosphere. I was there a bit after 1 PM on a Thursday, only 25% full. (a clue I sadly chose to ignore)

As a long time fan of La Brea Bakery I was surprised by my most recent visit. First, I'm not sure I like the new "order at the counter, then sit down" system. But I definitely was disappointed by the German Apple pancake... it wasn't terrible, it was just unexceptional. But I'll give them another chance, see if an old favorite like the BELT Sandwich is still what it used to be.

I can't speak for everything on the menu but the roast beef sandwich that I had seemed like something you would make for yourself at home from leftovers and not in a good way, the bread didn't seem fresh and all I tasted was strangely stale bread and roast beef the horseradish was tasteless (I asked for more I still didn't taste anything) and the grease from the cheese and roast beef overpowered the arugula. For the reputation of LA Brea bakery and the price I paid for this meal this was an embarrassment, I might buy a dessert from this place but I don't think I will ever eat a meal here again.

I was here many times @ La Brea Bakery . This is one of my favorite place to have a breakfast stop shop. Lemon Pound and Pumpkin Chocolate Pound Cake were some of my take outs favorites. I buy 6 each of them before I leave. I had Triple Deck Club with fries and Cobb Salad with a cup of Cappuccino. It was a great breakfast for me after all. Good quality of food and a waking coffee. I love it here!!! The place was nice and clean. A wide selection of pastries and of good customer service.

I went there a while ago and had the french toasts. Best french toasts ever! However the food wasn't served with any utensils. I noticed some tables had them and some didn't. I had to ask for them. Also the cashier seemed upset that I was taking longer to choose. It was my first time there and I wasn't sure what to order. If I'm spending money, I expect a good service.

The banana cream pie here is the best I've ever had! During the holidays it's best that you pre order. The line goes down the block. I was sad to see that they were closed at 8:55pm when yelp says they close at 10pm. The chicken pot pie was a little watery for me. But I still give 4 stars because the banana cream pie is bomb!

She'd have had one every day if she could.

Nice, relaxing cafe for a brunch. A bit on the pricier side in my opinion like having brunch in NYC, but that's what you get in this neighborhood. Portion is on the smaller side, but it's filling enough. I had the pecan french toast which was not as sweet as it sounds and that's how I like my sweets. My husband had the chicken, gravy and biscuit and he really liked the biscuit (he usually complains it's not Southern enough). The chicken was very good too (ugh he had the better choice this time).

I've been a fan of La Brea Bakery for decades! I love their Three Cheese Semolina Bread. I used to always purchase it in a store when I lived in Irvine. It's great being back in the area where I could purchase it directly from the bakery. The donuts are good and service is good. The only downside is the parking.

My husband and I are new to LA and have enjoyed exploring our new neighborhood eats. We’ve come back to La Brea Bakery time and time again because the food is great and so is the service. Shawn (I hope I spelled it right) has been our server the last few times and he is remarkable! Excellent service and super friendly. He’s made a few recommendations that we’ve really enjoyed. Avocado toast is like any other, the lox is delicious and so are the lemon ricotta pancakes if you’re feeling like a splurge. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Always a great breakfast at La Brea, and it's still a favorite destination, however...the table service was weirdly odd on this October morning. Like "Okay, where's the hidden camera?" odd. I'm really not a complainer, and we stayed really good-natured about it, BUT we had to ask three different servers before they brought the coffee we ordered to our table. The (great!) food showed up fine, but no coffee. Plain old coffee, nothing fancy! Each server we flagged down seemed really sincere and apologetic...but then inexplicably didn't bring us our coffee! Finally left the table to try the super-friendly host at the front door. He scooted off promptly...but then, still no coffee. Four stars because I'm forgiving and I love La Brea...but what an odd thing! (P.S. Super-friend passed by our table at the end of our meal with an astonished look on his face and apologized that he got distracted and forgot about our coffee. Nice guy.)

Fantastic!! Everything here is freshly prepared and baked, and so delicious!! We stopped in here after having a very disappointing brunch down the road, and decided to grab some OJ and some baked goods to snack on. We found ourselves very pleased with La Brea Bakery Cafe!! It's very clean and modern inside, with a line for ordering meals and an express line for ordering some baked goods. We went to the express line and got ourselves some of their OJ, as we had noticed them freshly squeezing and preparing it right then and there! We also ordered a ham and cheese croissant. The server was so friendly and helpful, it put me in such a good mood!! The staff here all appears to be lovely and work quickly and efficiently! Our fresh OJ was THE BEST orange juice that I have ever had, hands down!! So fresh and rich in taste, incredible!! I honestly didn't know that OJ could be so good! The croissant was delicious as well, freshly baked and prepared, so it was a warm and yummy snack! I was very impressed! I love the laid back atmosphere, including the modern interior and comfortable-looking outdoor patio. The ordering is quick and easy, despite having quite a line. I definitely will come back to have brunch here some time. I was very pleased and impressed with the level of quality of the food and beverages here, as well as the reasonable prices. Well done La Brea Bakery & Cafe!

Used to be so good! Not sure what's happening with this place now as they changed the things around a little bit. Food was almost stale. Had goat cheese and mushroom omelet and salad was wilted, burger was tasteless and soggy, all in all not going back any time soon. Breads are still good though!

This place is one of my new favorite dessert spots in sf! They have plenty of different pies, as well as vegan. We got the banana cream pie and a double crusted apple pie topped with ice cream. It was sooo good. Also, their hot chocolate is a must have! I highly recommend. Overall its such a chill location and the staff is very welcoming. No wifi, but there are bathrooms.

Parking in the front of the restaurant on the street can be challenging. There are parking restriction times in the surrounding neighborhood in the rear but there is a small parking lot in the rear of the restaurant. Service here is always good and staff are very friendly. The food is great and everything from the bakery is good. If you like french onion, the french onion tart is really tasty. They have a great twist in avocado toast. The simple grilled cheese and tomato soup is one of my favorites. It's definitely worth a try. The last two times we were there it did take a while to get the check so that was the only downside.

Despite living 5 minutes from this cute little brekkie spot, I had never dropped in until today! Apparently it used to be table service but now you simply walk up to the counter, order and pick your spot. I wasn't overly hungry so I ordered the Steel Cut Oats and they were delicious! I also ordered an Iced Latte but they mixed up my order and gave me a plain iced coffee- not a huge deal. Love the different condiments available to purchase and take home and the whole vibe of the restaurant. I will definitely be returning!

This is my go-to when I want baked goods a crust above the rest. It’s by far the most renowned bakery in LA, the products are all evidence of that. I go here often to buy a nice baguette or loaf to have around the house, and they’re always of a high quality and have excellent flavor. The prices are competitive as well. There’s no downside.

It’s an ok bakery. Lots of options and seating. Clean. Service could be better. Asked if they used organic flour in the baked goods and the girl simply said, “I don’t know”. Didn’t care either. She could have asked someone. Disappointing when the employees don’t know such a basic fact considering the title of the place is BAKERY. I also asked her what sells the most and she said, “we sell everything”. She was less than excited to work here. It’s better than most bakeries in LA but will definitely fall in the ranks when Dominique Ansel Bakery opens. I wouldn’t return here.

Literally none of the staff know what’s going on in this place. Thought it was maybe someone’s first day - if that was the case, then it was every employees first day... Shame cuz the food is great but the place has really gone downhill staff-wise: had to ask for a fork and knife for my food, then a spoon for my coffee, got undercharged for an OJ, then overcharged for the OJ, then had to wait for 3 employees who were using the restroom... sad.

The food was great. Easy parking in the back alley with free 90 min valet. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was good both. They were friendly and quick. Food was delicious. I'd definitely come back. Higley reccomend the Eggs Benedict and the Iced Matcha Latte. The Matcga here isn't sweetened which made me love it even more.

As a european ex pat, I seriously crave authentic buttery flaked croissants, delicately spiced cakes, flavors that I can taste without an overload of one dimensional sugar, so this is the place to go to, wonderfully authentic the closest you'll get to France , with fresh and seasonal ingredients and a great atmosphere.

This used to be my 4 star go to spot for lunch meetings but they’ve turned a really great restaurant with fantastic service into a cafeteria style place where you order at counter and take a number to your table. If you’re meeting someone for business it makes it seem like you took them to a MacDonalds where coffee drinks are $5 and you have to order everything at once (drink, food, dessert). Please change it back.

This is such a wonderful way to spend your morning. We had a small glitch but we spoke to manager Gino and he remedied it perfectly. We will be back for sure. Cappuccino was the best ever, hash is delirious. Thank you Gino.

Was in town for a little bit and decided to drop $15 for a turkey sandwich. The ingredients were fresh, healthy, and flavorful. I had the toasted sourdough, it usually comes with wheat, but this was an excellent choice nonetheless. Asked for thousand island and somehow was given chipotle aioli. Good thing I liked it though. Price is a bit high, but definitely worth the cost and the atmosphere. Beautiful place. I wouldn't mind going back on date night to try something more fancy. Ciao.
