Third or fourth visit, this place is charming and delicious. Not the cheapest lunch but really good quality comfort food and the staff is friendly. Everything down to the chips and salsa is made from scratch and its well worth the extra dollars.
This place is amazing!!! Being from Texas and having lived in Mexico, I kinda know Pan dulce and authentic Mexican cuisine. And I'm a foodie. This place is so charming!!!
Price to ridiculous or they discriminated against seniors American citizens my meal. for 2eggs strip bacon potatoes sm slice bread orange juice $19.68 i never ho the again the breakfast not good for that price no price on menu
Yummy food in a relaxed and artistic setting. Good margaritas and hand cut chips. A good place for vegans too. Nice round tables for groups of up to 6 people. Painted copies of many rarely seen Frieda Khalo self portraits
Good Mexican food with a nice selection of a few other authentic Latin dishes thrown in.
Great Mexican food and open late. Bring an appetite! LOVE all the Frida Kahlo!
A beautiful restaurant with amazing art of Frida Khalo, tasty pan dulce, wonderful staff and of course the best food. We came for the breakfast burritos and were not disappointed! So good! I'm looking forward to trying out their pupusas next time.
Delicious burritos, nice atmosphere.
The food here is possibly the best Mexican food in Berkeley. Everything is fresh and obviously made with a lot of care and attention. Would highly recommend pretty much anything here but my personal favorite is the mole burrito. The baked goods are also perfectly made and the service is incredible!
Delicious food and nice service and portions. A little pricey but worth it when you're hungry.
This place is terrific. Taco Tuesday could offer better deals, but food is great and portions are large.
Wow! New favorite burrito! Great atmosphere and service.
I enjoyed the crab taquitos and plantains with beans and cream. I had a delicious fresh margarita and couldn't wait till tomorrow to eat my pan dulce which tasted perfectly fresh with just the right amount of sweetness. I can't wait to go back to try their chilaquiles for breakfast one day soon!
Tacos El Dorados - big, crispy, and tasty!
Busy but the line moves fast. My parents love eating here so I always meet them for breakfast on the weekends.
Great authentic Mexican Cuisine. Great service, the food tastes fantastic, and the restaurant has a very cool old school vibe to it. We had Mole Poblano and Chile Relleno and they were superb with our pitcher of Sangria. If you like good Mexican food, and good service, this is a good choice for the area.
Excellent burrito, I mean excellent. This isn't your standard bay area Mexican place which is already a five compared to most other Mexican places, this is the real deal. They don't have a chips and salsa bar, but they do have some great burritos and some tasty hot sauce to go with it. It is as good as some of the best places in SF.
Best Mexican food I've ever had. Absolutely phenomenally flavorful empanadas. Mole sauce to die for. Fish taco is melt in your mouth perfection. The 'cheesecake' dessert is a joy. Will definitely come back when I'm craving the best!! Wish the bakery items had labels!
Excellent asada burritos with meat that is top notch with no fat pieces. I purchased (11) to go and worth every penny. I'm going back for breakfast burritos tommorow
Great food and even better bakery!
Outstanding absolutely outstanding. Very friendly employees. Clean and sanitary restaurant. Great food fresh and delicious. They never fail to satisfy. Give it a try you won’t be sorry.
Food was fresh and tasty, and the service was good. Great place for a taco tuesday special, and they are veggie/vegan friendly.
Fresh food delicious and the fresh baked goods
Excellent service, in a small but accommodating space. Food is authentic. I had the pozole and was not disappointed. The chips are made fresh and salsa doesn't disappoint.
Nice open space, good for groups and kids. Has solid food and some excellent specialties such as the sopes. Also has a good sangria. Parking can be difficult
DELIGHTFUL! The food here makes me smile from the first bite to the last. I live about 40 minutes away, but it's WELL WORTH THE TRIP. The food is exquisite, and I love their delicious freshly made Mexican pastries. Also, the service is great and veryone is always very patient and friendly. If you haven't been, you just have to try it.
Amazing spicy breakfast enchiladas. Their salsa was delicious.
Customer service is super. Clean establishment and nice decor. The food overall is super overpriced and not the best. The pupusas had no real flavor, they almost seem premade and reheated (and they only offer 3 kind if that makes sense. The sangria tasted old. The al pastor meat was way too drive and again, no flavor. We really wanted to like it, but it wasn't meant to be. I am basing my review on thw food and price,
The mole pablano is a disgrace to mole. It is salty and too sweet. I would suggest Cosecha by chef Dominica downtown in old oakland the chicken mole tamales are great.
Older woman with glasses at counter is a huge B. Both times here. Not even rude, but downright disrespectful. This will get lost in all reviews and won't affect their rating, but I just had to write. If one person chooses not to eat here because of my comments then it is well worth my time. Not only did she have a disgusting attitude but I wanted to try a dish I never had. Told the woman I am on a diet and prefer no carbs, she knew the dish I ordered would be bare (I am unaware of proportion ratios) and she didn't have the common courtesy to let me know. I received an egg with sour cream and lettuce. From what I can remember during my lifetime, the purposeful and complete disregard for customers has never been approached.
Feels like a trip to Mexico City. Sophisticated and artful.
The Mole Burrito is next level delicious, but so is everything else on the menu. It has become a staple place to eat for me when I'm in this neighborhood, which is pretty often. Everyone is friendly, the food comes out fast, and the portion sizes are great. It doesn't feel pretentious, nor is it dirty. They're clearly focused on great food. Do yourself a favor and grab a couple snacks from the bakery on your way out. Listen. Don't sleep on Casa Latina.
Delicious Mexican food served in a casual atmosphere. It's more than a taqueria, less than fancy dining... the perfect place to get your Mexican cravings met. It's right across from a bar that has games and let's you bring in food, this is the perfect pit stop for that.
Veggie options are pretty decent. Not the best but alright. Like the chips and guac. Enjoyed the salsa Verde on my enchiladas.
Excellent food, reasonable price. Feels like I am home and my aunts are making meals in the kitchen. Not pretentious and love the homage to such a strong symbol of Hispanic feminism in the images on the wall. Eat here pretty regularly and have never been disappointed.
Its worth the hype. I finally made it over to get two burritos. It will definitely be my new to go place when I am craving Mexican food. The food tastes fresh, not over salted and you can tell they truly put their heart and soul into the food.
Amazing Food, great service. They bake all of the desserts in house. Delicious Ceviche.
Delicious food and generous portions. I love that they don't automatically add sour cream and cheese to their burritos. I highly recommend their carne asada burrito.
Delicious food!! You can almost taste the love that went into cooking my enchilada.
The pazole, pupusa and mole flautas were amazing
Family run vibe with delicious food, wide authentic menu, beautiful decor and fantastic ambience. Fast becoming one of our favorite places to visit - such friendly staff and the baked goods are awesome!
Best hot chocolate in Berkeley! The place is incredibly cozy and beautiful and they play great music! ❤️ Love coming here
The place to go for fans of Frida Kahlo and of course the Mexican food itself. Nothing beats SoCal Mexican food. So if your from SoCal come here cause I found it to be the closest.
Great food and atmosphere.
I have come here since they open, their bread and food is amazing but the lady that works there in the morning (blond looking lady with a heavy accent ) it is so rude, twice she has been rude to me and this morning I was there getting some bread and when I tried to be nice and have a conversation with her about how great the bakery is she cut me off and when she handed me the change she avoided having any contact with my hand and handed me the money rudely and the Change fell all over the counter and she just looked at me and walked away to the back.
Delicious breakfast, tacos, & more!
Fantastic. We had the fish taco and enchiladas and both were out of control good
Decent order and serve time food could be a bit better
Consistent, great Mexican/south American food. Friendly staff, nice space. The always inviting nature of casa latina along with great food makes this a frequent stop for my partner and I
This place is both a really good pan dulce bakery—I think the only one in Berkeley—& a great sit-down Mexican restaurant.
My family and I eat here a lot. The mole tamale is to die for. The Mexican baked goods are a fun treat as well! Thanks again for the great food!
Excellent! First time visiting in Cali and we found this hidden gem! Everything was great!
Authentic and fresh made Menu items
Good Mexican food at great prices
Food is the bomb! Mis complementos para los grandes cocineros que preparan platillos con mucho sabor y detalles. It's a little pricey for my wallet, but it's worth it. Meals always have a lot of flavor and the staff are really friendly. My favorite place to eat in Berkeley! :]
Food was great. Mole sauce was heavy on the clove but still delicious. A littler pricey but portions were huge! I didn't try any baked goods but they looked amazing so I'll definitely be back to try them!
The croissants hit a certain spot and the food is amazing.
I ordered Taco de pollo and it was really really bad! You should stay away from it extremely salty and flavorless.
Chocolate Tres leches cake! Amazing
Only item I didn't like was the mushrooms. Burrito was great. Dessert were nice.
Best burritos and fish tacos I've ever had
Cracking spot. Enjoyed the huevos rancheros guey
Tried their strawberry tres leches. Was good. Soft and milky.
When you first walk in or you can order all of your food at the counter. My favorite part about this cute little place is the pupusas and the salsa bar. It's Frida kahlo theme and there's a lot of great places to sit.
Two dried tamales for $ 12 bad customer service cashier had an attitude when people call by phone tell them what would they like in their food my food wasn't how I spected didn't want to cancel my order this customer wanted to order a drink lady answer with a really bad attitude don't you see I am with a customer it happen 5/16/19 at 6:30 mexican lady with a little to much make up food didn't have to much flavor I have bought better tamales for less money I won't go back there
Great food just needs more options for seating a family with children
Best Mexican food there is! I cannot recommend this place enough. Its our go to when we want Mexican or baked goods. it's a must have! Try their spicy Colorado burrito or fried fish tacos, they are incredible. And when your there, get some flan, or baked goods!
Sweet place with a large variety of well priced, good quality food. Didn’t like their cookies very much; but their food was delicious. Will definitely come again.
Some of the best Pasteles in the area. Always fresh, delicious and on point. Staff is very friendly.
I enjoyed my vegetarian burrito from Casa Latina. I do intend to go back and try some of the enchiladas, tostados and sangria. I’m looking forward to a return visit. I drive by so often, this was my first time in. The restaurant is big and busy, which is always a good sign.
Great service and food choices. I tried the michelada and I loved it!
